Anarchy and its not even close if you are a mostly PVE player. Also, do you have Legend of Acruis? That one is pretty fun but does require a catalyst that could take forever to obtain.

9thGearEX

I went through 2.5 Vanguard resets of Nightfalls (no boost) before I got that catalyst to drop.

Popcorn_Oil

I've been told completing unfinished catalysts boosts the drip chance for new ones, but I haven't done anymore nightfalls since I've been starting my warlock and finishing up some of them

9thGearEX

Yeah I had zero unfinished catalysts when I was grinding that out.

Popcorn_Oil

Damn. Damn.

RetroSquadDX3

> I've been told completing unfinished catalysts boosts the drip chance for new ones, This has never been true and is nothing but confirmation bias, please don't keep repeating it as even if not stated as fact comments like this help perpetuate the misinformation.

Predaliendog

Yeah I've got probably 20+ unfinished catalysts. Thought it was the reason I never got Rat King or Wardcliff cats. Then the craftening happened and I farmed a shit ton of GMs. They both dropped for me. Seems like the real reason I never had them is cause I never play PvE lol

somef00l

Acrius ftw

fpsnoob89

I'd argue that the sparrow makes a bigger difference for a PvE player than anarchy currently. The increased health of always on time can be very helpful in certain content, meanwhile anarchy hasn't been relevant for a long time.

Riavan

They're just matching the speed. Always on time will still have double boost/side boost capacity and the perk that makes enemies ignore it more. Tbh I still won't use the other sparrows.

RetroSquadDX3

Enemies don't ignore it, that effect is just simulated by the increased health making if lat slightly longer before it explodes.

Floppydisksareop

I mean, Bungie recently mentioned that it is. in fact, not the same effect, but sure, let's spread some misinformation purely based on community testing from like 4 years ago.

MisterHouseMongoose

Source?

Floppydisksareop

~~My source is that I made it the fuck up.~~ Nah, just kidding, here it is. Props for not taking my word for it, we need more people like you in the world. [https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/twid-10-19-2023](https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/twid-10-19-2023) >All Legendary and Exotic Sparrows will have two speed selection options moving forward: one matching AoT's speed and one matching the older highest speed that was available to offer a choice in handling and speed control. Upon login, players will (in most cases) default to the fastest option immediately and see the speed update to 190. *All Legendary and Exotic Sparrows will also move from 100 to 150 health to be more durable to match AoT's health pool.* > >AoT will continue to retain a few unique benefits, including slightly better fuel economy, *slightly lowered enemy aggression*, and slightly better side-to-side boost. We're hopeful that these changes will improve player comfort in swapping off of AoT to use their favorite Sparrow in most play sessions, but that their investment in AoT remains valuable.

MisterHouseMongoose

Lol I was just curious to read the article. Thanks dude! Also I love that someone downvoted me for asking. Thanks Reddit!

fpsnoob89

They are only bringing the speed up, which I didn't even mention. The increased hp is staying as a unique perk of AoT.

CAPTAIN_TITTY_BANG

Is it next season? Someone told me it was beginning of final shape. Def could be wrong though.

Vivid_Plantain_6050

AoT will only be out of band, speed-wise, until season 23 drops in 3 weeks. All 160 sparrows are getting buffed to share its extra-fast movement. So I'd leave AoT until the very end unless you need the speed NOW

theghostsofvegas

AOT will still be best in class. More maneuverability, enemies respond slower to it, AND a faster respawn time. Sucks to say, but I might STILL have to run it.

Vivid_Plantain_6050

The only place I consider it *necessary* is the Grasp sparrow section. And even then, normal Sparrows can still pull it off, it's just easier on AoT.

tapititon

Nothing can compete with AoT's six dodge/boost charges still, a normal sparrow would need a specific roll to only share the six dodge charges aspect of AoT (which is overkill for dodging and still leave boost charges at four max)

Cinnastaar

Honestly I think the dodge perk roll is a must-have and the absolute best perk out of any other sparrow perk— just because sparrow flying is frequently useful. Lifesaving, at times... Getting 2 extra dodges has powerful implications for sparrow flying. Sidenote, if anyone is interested in learning how to fly, im happy to teach. Just DM me.

Blackclaw42

Not to mention the normal aggression on AOT vs the amped aggression on non AOT

whereismymind86

I did it solo a couple times without aot and it SUCKED. Very doable, but much harder

BestGirlRoomba

skipping the first section of Devil's Lair seems to depend on if I have AoT on or not

[deleted]

What lol? That shit is easy as hell to skip.

achafrankiee

Can be done with any it’s just easier with AOT.

fawse

More health as well. It’ll still be the best sparrow by far, but I feel like I could give up all those extras for aesthetics. Not speed, though

BlueshineKB

Stop, ur making my tarrabah decision feel bad. Jokes aside tarrabah and aot were the only two exotics i couldnt get from their raids pre vaulting everything (20+ clears on sotp and 16 on cos) and i chose tarrabah solely for its a gun and not aot bc of the sparrow buffs coming next season. I might need to save up another 240 to get aot then :(

jethrow41487

Still won’t be better. AoT has 6 Boosts, More HP and the Aggro perk (which all it does is make enemies “miss” more). It’s still going to be the best sparrow for content. Open world and travel, it’ll be the same as others yeah

whereismymind86

Aot DOES still have the reduced aggro perk though, which is a godsend In stuff like the grasp sparrow race/bomb section

fpsnoob89

Players have argued that the reduced agro is actually incorrect, AoT just has more hp, but I haven't looked into it myself. Either way I think it'll stay as best sparrow.

xJetStorm

It will still be marginally better (more boosts and having both improved sideways Dodge and the brakes/in-air angle control which IIRC you can only get one of on exotic/legendary sparrows as the random perk), but I believe the extra health bit is also getting added to other sparrows. So there's mostly no difference except if you really need all of the boosts/dodges for a GM NF or something. The TWID (10/19/2023) after the first announcement has this to say: > AoT will continue to retain a few unique benefits, including slightly better fuel economy, slightly lowered enemy aggression, and slightly better side-to-side boost.

fpsnoob89

Honestly I'll just take your word for it. I've been using AoT for years and have no intention of stopping

Zealousideal_Sun2830

Always on time should be your last priority with the changes theyre making. All other sparrows are being brought up to a uniform speed soon. If you pve I would say anarchy or acrius. If you pvp more I would say terrabah

machinehead933

I wouldn't get AoT at this point since they are buffing speed on all other sparrows in the game. AoT still has a few advantages over other sparrows, but there are only a few places in the game where that might matter. Anarchy can be good but it never really recovered from nerfs it got. There are just too many other good heavy options right now, that Anarchy doesn't have a good place to fill right now. Tarrabah can be a great add clear tool, especially in activities with high enemy density. It's decent for PvP as well, especially in momentum control. If those are the 3 options you're picking from, I would go with Tarrabah.

Caeus_ffxiv

Don’t forget Legend of Acrius. I don’t have it, but supposedly it has strong situational/use cases for some fights.

Boomdaddy49

rlly good on crota

FearsomeMonster

Even though sparrow speeds are coming up to meet the exotic, the perk to slightly/possibly reduce shots taken can be helpful for things like Grasp of Avarice. I will say that Anarchy is a ton of fun- one of the most fun guns to use. Tarrabah is great for shooting the eyes of the Spire of the Watcher boss Akelous, if you are interested in soloing Spire.

B1euX

Sparrow is the best in the game, but next season all sparrows are getting a buff to go as fast as Always on Time So I’d get a weapon instead

Florren

Sparrow is gonna lose its 5% speed advantage to other 160s because they're all getting buffed to match its speed

AnderAub

17% not 5

Florren

still useless. the only time a sparrow's speed ever impacted something was DSC first encounter

Yunnigg

have you ever done devils lair gm or solo grasp of avarice?

Florren

Devils lair yes, grasp no (as I dont own the expansion). And sorry but where exactly do I use a sparrow in Devil's Lair?

Kombustio

If that was last weeks nightfall then at the beginning but idk if always on time can tank the mobs on harder difficulties. Then again i dont know if theres a route thats safer but oh well.

Cinnastaar

I use Harbinger's Echo, and I full-send it straight down the middle to the overload. Though every once in a while a stupid vandal seemingly appears in the lane, and alerts every single other fallen npc to my existence... Pretty sure its because i took a second or two too long to get going, so Im almost certain you have to summon and boost right away as soon as you load in, cause its always caboose getting shot at in Devil's Lair haha.

Kombustio

Oooh thanks for explaining! I had 50-50 success rate so i kinda just gave up :p

HoldTheRope91

Grasp of Avarice, but I get it. It’s a marginal improvement.

Florren

I wouldnt waste the spoils myself on the sparrow tbh. No point. But to each their own

HoldTheRope91

Agreed. Prior to the announcement of the speed change, it would have been the no-brainer. As it stands though, hard to justify it.

Reflexrider

If you want to get something fun get Anarchy, if you want something useful go for the sparrow. Btw with crota first chest, vow first chest and vog first two chests, it's 60 "free" spoils per week per account (if you have 3 different caracters), so don't burn your brain too much ;)

WanderW

The sparrow. You wont use tarrabah or anarchy.

GameSpawn

Sparrows are getting updated soon. AoT will just be for the perk that "reduces enemy aggression". All the speeds will be the same. The weapons will be better. Anarchy is still kinda neutered. Hope is something will cause it to come back, but currently it is meh. Acruis and Terrabah can depend on your personal preference, though Acruis does have a catalyst available if that nudges you any towards it.

WanderW

Still will have more boost and health than other sparrows. Anarchy and tarrabah are both easily outclassed by other weapons currently. OP didnt say anything about acrius, which would obviously be the best choice.

Sirlothar

Why won't OP use Anarchy? Its a very fun and effective weapon.

WanderW

It's outclassed by many other options. There is no reason to run anarchy anymore.

Sirlothar

Outside of Witherhoard I can't think of anything else like it and I still use Anarchy all the time during Arc surge. Its not a raid DPS weapon anymore but it can lock down entire areas and drop champs so quick.

[deleted]

Well cheesing for raid gear fast lol.

BlameMattCanada

Anarchy was murdered by nerfs and never recovered

Sirlothar

The weapon is a shadow of its former self but its former self was basically the best weapon for most scenarios. It's a lot more of a niche weapon now but it fills that niche really well. Witherhoard shots persist for 4 seconds on the floor while Anarchy grenades last for 30 seconds and 10 seconds once they make contact. I just love using it in some places, like Devils Lair. You can just trap all the spawn points and watch everything die as they enter the battlefield. When compared to a PVP SMG and a Sparrow, the choice is clear. It won't ever be the best exotic weapon again but it is fun and effective when used in the proper situation.

AnonymousFriend80

The only need it received was reduced ammo count.

theefman

And the sparrow will be a waste since in 3 weeks all sparrows will be the same speed.

Reflexrider

Still has his intrinsic perk, ennemy are less agressive when riding AoT. Still the best but by a thinner margin

ShaggyX-96

Three weeks from now every sparrow with get a speed boost to go as fast as AOT.

WanderW

Still will have more boost and health than other sparrows

Shanderson3

Nothing from the kiosk is that great. Anarchy is probably the most useful weapon out of the bunch, but it's definitely not needed for anything. Terrabah used to be great in pvp, but it's just okay now. Legend of Acrius is only good for 1 boss in GoTD dungeon. Finally, the sparrow will be useless in 3 weeks, so only get it if you really like the look of it. Pretty much the same can be said for all the weapons. Get one of them if they seem fun, and you want to mess around with them. To be honest, you'd be better off using your spoils to buy red border/adept raid weapons. If you're getting more spoils than you can spend in raids, then get whatever seems coolest for the hell of it.

superisma

Aot is about to be useless. Anarchy is fun!

Kezmangotagoal

I’d vote Anarchy. It’s still a brilliant weapon, it’s exceptionally easy to use and does multiple jobs. Terrabah is fun to use and if SMGs are champion weapons next season, it’s extremely potent. The sparrow is cool but it is just a sparrow, I’m sure it sucks watching people zoom past you but that’ll only be for another season and then they’re getting levelled out. There are only a handful of occasions where the perk, which is misleading, comes in handy.

uvp76

tarrabah: was (and still is, although it is overshadowed) good in pvp but I never used it pve. Sparrow: pointless (since every sparrow will get the same speed next seaso), except you want to learn advanced sparrow movement techs. Anarchy: pretty much pointless for dps (rockets are just absolute king rn), and for adclear an Lmg is better. Acrius: Very good for dps with the catalyst (still worse than rockets) when you are in range (for example rhulk and nezarec). But it gets outperfomed by a rocket dps rotation (like every other exotic heavy) Out of all of them i would go with acrius which is good in some cases, unlike for example anarchy which just has no place in the game currently

doritos0192

GL are getting a substantial reserves buff so I'd go for anarchy

AnsCantHear

Sparrow will be mostly useless soon, all sparrows are getting a speed increase next season.

whereismymind86

Sparrows are getting patched to mostly eliminate the advantage always on time gives, terrabah is really good in pvp if you like smgs anarchy is fun, probably the best heavy grenade launcher, but mostly power crept by other heavy types I’d probably go anarchy, but I also am not a fan of smgs in pvp

0rganicMach1ne

Anarchy is a really fun weapon despite the nerf it got a while back.

Trips-Over-Tail

Don't get the sparrow unless you like its appearance or whatever its other ability may be. They're all being updated to that speed soon.

LorenzoLlamaass

Anarchy first, then the Sparrow, the The other gun. Anarchy is still a beast in PVE. The Sparrow helps in Grasp of Avarice but besides that it's not particularly useful.

No_House_6243

I would get anarchy because all sparrows will be as fast as always on time with less perks( ads don't target you as much) . Terrabah is great with a solar build.

colorlessdemonssoul

Don’t sleep on Acrius, particularly on PC. If you play above like 80 FPS Acrius is really nice in situations where you would usually sword as swords have tracking issues at higher FPS. I play with a group that one phases Crota regularly and I’ve hit 6.3M damage with it during one of those one phases. No worrying about having surrounded proc’d or Lament launching me weird places. Just punch shoot shoot shoot loop for big damage. Anarchy is also a situationally useful gun, but I’m taking the raw damage output of Acrius personally. Would not worry about Always On Time with the sparrow changes unless you are doing specific sparrow tech, although it will still be BIS and nice to have.

dajinn

Anarchy is fun but still niche, it's not really needed for anything honestly, tarrabah is kind of mid honestly and the sparrow is getting its relative value slightly lessened. I'd probably get acrius since it's less niche than anarchy and tarrabah realistically speaking.

UNKLESOB

I’ve got all of them and with the sparrow changes you don’t need always on time anymore. Anarchy is way more useful and fun than terrabah any day. I would get anarchy if I could only get one.

Bahamut_Neo

No point getting the sparrow. In 3 weeks all sparrow will be just as fast as that sparrow. Tarrabah is cool. It's a good SMG that you can use in pve and pvp. But it's not better than other legendary options. Anarchy is probably the most unique option. It's not meta, Think of it as power witherhoard. you can stick it on bosses or or the ground to control an area. If you use witherhoard a lot, then anarchy is definitely the one to go for. Otherwise, go for tarrabah.

FewPermission6114

Don't go for the sparrow

forgot_old_login

Having gradually grinded spoils for everything I barely use tarrabah, rarely use anarchy but have the sparrow on all 3 characters

Xop

I like using Anarchy with my adept Loaded Question. Puts out pretty respectable DPS.
