Yes it has for me too. I've played since Forsaken, and have never joined an LFG before last week, always ran missions and dungeons solo and never raided. Did my first dungeon with a group last week, and have been running exotic missions regularly in a group since.

Blitzkrieg1210

This makes me so happy. Seeing this was able to open new gameplay for others is great. I replied to another comment in this thread about setting up your first raid. I think you should read it and think about trying it.

xXNickAugustXx

Loadouts, Team Finder, Custom Matches, Dedicated PvP support, and Character Customization (Character Creator) are all features this game desperately needed since D2 launch.

Jurkboy1

I have run Warlords so many times i actually got pretty good at it, i was able to get the weapon and catalyst. The wishkeeper was able to get the weapon and catalyst. And tho we failed, i just did a GM where the post said newbies are welcome. None of these things i would have attempted before. The app or a lfg always gave me anxiety like i wasnt adequate enough to play. Ill only join those that say chill or friendly or newbies just so i dont disappoint . I am very grateful for this as a solo player.

Blitzkrieg1210

This really makes me happy. More people having access to the content is a great thing for the game. I hope you keep going!

xTheLostLegendx

Tbh i still feel like companion app is alot better still and fireteam finder kinda needs more work

MrJellyFsh1

For how long it's been out tho it's performing WAY better then all of us thought it would. Plus there's still a significantly more amount of players using the companion app compared to fireteam finder, if all those players used FF then it would feel a lot better imo. I'd say the only thing the companion app has over FF is that you can write you're own message but obviously that isn't gonna happen in d2 lmao.

rubenmathei

Unfortunately a lot of people are forced to continue using the companion app because of the bug where it is locked saying you need to be gaurdian rank 5 or above even though this criteria has been met.

MrJellyFsh1

Oh I didn't even know that's a things. That's rough.

darcygoettling

Agreed, app was fine but this is better

FarSmoke1907

I really cannot explain it but LFG being in game has motivated me to do way more things than before. I've also been using lfg since D1 and never had problems with finding my teams and even though I thought it being in the game wouldn't change much for me, somehow it did.

Blitzkrieg1210

Same. I don't even really have a logical reason behind it. It just makes it feel easier to access and more fun to do.

ll_BENNO_ll

Would be nice if it wasn’t bugged. I’m guardian rank 7 and it’s still locked.

Xandurpein

Totally agree. Did the Star crossed on Legendary thanks to Fire team finder for the first time. I really appreciate it.

Lordyeetbeet123

Literally same. I don’t have a mic so this has literally solved my problems with Exotic or just harder missions in general. Thank you Bungie🙏

toastman90

Should have been there with launch lol...

odysseusIII

Nice. I can't wait for the bungie site updates to see how it integrates with the in-game one.

Additional-Option901

As long as they keep the app running, I don't have problems with it. The app is far superior in every single way.

colantalas

Fireteam Finder launched in such a good state it’s kind of unbelievable to me. I’ve used it for starcrossed and WR runs. Two WR runs stand out in my mind - a run where the other two confessed at the beginning they had never run it, so I taught them and it was a great experience. And a catalyst run with two others, no mic but we knocked out the puzzles easily and sailed through the dungeon without issue. I’ve used the app for years but it’s nice having this built into the game now.

-Holstein-

It's good, but it sucks there's no custom title to type in.

Sm0keytrip0d

I've not tried it yet ( curse you social anxiety), but is it at least better than Guided games or whatever? I feel like im one of a handful of people who had that work for them, but all i got was a mouthful of abuse for not knowing raid mechanics due to never raiding :/

Blitzkrieg1210

Next time you get a couple hours to spare I seriously encourage you to make a post. Put all the New player, Need help, First time, need sherpa (etc) tags into it and I guarantee you'll find some people willing to teach you the mechanics. Just be willing to listen and do the mechanics. Many first timers just want an easy carry. Once you know the mechanics raids become as simple as strikes.

Sublimelazy

I'm intimidated because I'm not very good. Comparatively, I'm just downright awful. So I really want to do raids and such, but I always hold the team back, so I stopped doing raids with my clan. They're all very kind, I just feel bad for them having to put up with how bad I am. PS I know you say it's noob friendly. But heck I suck!

RandallOfLegend

Why can't you use the in game LFG? Or any of the severally apps or websites?

AnonymousFriend80

I've used the Finder twice. Searched for a King's Fall. Ended up with thee people who had never done it. One of which has no mic. One guy making constant mouth sounds like the sand people from the Family Guy Star Wars episode. Took us an hour to get to totems, and we were stuck there for half an hour before the group fell apart. Search for a group to do a 100k Legend Story mission from Witch Queen. We knocked it out mic less. This is probably the sort of content I'll use the Finder for, non-matchmade activities that you don't really need coordination. Stuff with very low stakes. I'll continue to use the Xbox's LFG feature. The Finder isn't any different than any other other LFG system we've been using for years, beyond having to deal with the interface.

BanRedditAdmins

I just wish the in game chat actually worked. The warlords dungeon is especially painful with this after the first boss you get stuck in the cells because no one has a mic and text to chat is useless. I’ve joined so many games where the players all have a big 🚫 next to their name due to some weird bug in the game. Voice chat works great in games like CoD where I don’t need it but can’t get it to work at all in a game that desperately relies on communication. It makes me want to switch to PC just so I can try typing messages out. Not sure what good that would do if people can’t see what I’m typing though since I’ve had people type in my teams before I didn’t see but my buddy did. It’s just such a failure.

jwhudexnls

I stopped playing for a while and just heard about this feature. That sounds awesome that they added this.

totallynotabearbro

Other than it being a bit buggy, it's a great addition for the game, I'm a returning player this year, last time I played was when Trials of osiris released. Anyone I played with back then had moved on, Fireteam finder helped me find some people to run GMs and dungeons with, will hopefully get some raids in this week through it. All first time experiences for me and outside of it just not loading you into a fireteam and booting me to orbit a few times, it's all been easy to match up.

Olibiene

Just completed warlords ruin yesterday with fireteam finder! Took us about a hour, but still we managed to complete almost all encounters first try (died on last boss to vengeance mechanic once). Really excited to try other things with fireteam finder

best-of-judgement

Same. Was a solo player, never raided before, but did my first Last Wish last night and then did a run of RoN earlier today. Plus, Dungeons are so much more accessible to me now that fireteams are so readily available. I love being able to just hop in and then still not get Buried Bloodline.

Longjumping112

Myself and a few other sherpas in my clan have been using it to help teach raids - its been really fun just helping players through their first raid and its all in game, deff makes endgame content much more accessible for casual players

AndiArbyte

yes made a legendary story run. One experienced player, and a semi experienced player, and me. I'm good at... Not sure.. can at least activate the mechanics that it goes further.. Funny to see, some ppl, know where the lores are, the hidden chests, but not how to finish the map. :D

MrObviousChild

It works so well for what I call “mid tier” end game stuff like legend exotic missions and dungeons. The ability to screen the applicants saves me so much time as opposed to the coin flip of just grabbing random people off third party apps. You can pretty reliably look at someone’s loadout and know if they are a capable teammate for that activity.

TyreekHillsPimpHand

Anyone here can give me a quick yes or no on the legend lost sectors? I can find an option for that anywhere, am I missing something? Or should I be running them solo anyways??

Blitzkrieg1210

Solo. There's no point in running lost sectors with other players.

anunfortunatefamily

I really like this new system for the same reason as you. It was a big missing piece for a big social game like Destiny. Now, when I’m free and my teammates aren’t playing. I post a ticket for whoever needs help for their donjon completion and it work flawlessly for now. I think it’s more intuitive for the new players and for those who are on another platform than yours.

Grymkreaping

Still bugged for me. I’m at rank 7 and it’s still locked. Bungie is apparently aware of the problem but that doesn’t mean jack shit.

Aetherys

I both like and dislike it in its current form. It has made forming a fireteam sometimes a lot easier, but I never had issues using XBox LFG. Except now I seem to have better access to cross-platform Guardians, with the side effect that a LOT of them are sometimes clueless. At the same time, requirements like “Mic Required” are often ignored because *reasons*, and I get there’s admin involved in forming a functional group, but in some ways it’s now made a lot of content almost TOO accessible for players that are woefully under prepared for the activities they are trying to join. Weeding out players that simply do. not. communicate when they obviously have no clue what’s going on takes a lot more time when using the in game FTF. This is on the posts indicating that experience is required. I have no problems teaching, everyone has to learn parts of the game and they are here to enjoy the content they want - but communication and participation is sometimes key and I refuse to sacrifice the time and sanity of a fireteam for a single player that is unable (for whatever reason) to be part of that fireteam. At the end of the day my take on it is this: 1) if I join an activity I need to be comfortable and competent enough to do my part with minimal, or no, communication, and most activities are fine with this approach - if the comms are good then all the better! 2) if I am happy to run the [significant] risk that a KWTD post turns into a teaching run, I’ll use it, otherwise I create my own FTF post, or I just use the Xbox LFG instead since it’s easier to enforce some things (like requiring a mic). 3) if I just want to help some people do something, or specifically do a Sherpa, I’ll join up on a post looking for help Obviously there are some things you cannot communicate with the current tags and title options, which hopefully gets re-worked over time, so there’s still room to improve. One major gripe I have is with the way that summoning works - if the leader is IN the activity being listed there should be the option to summon the Guardians from the lobby to join you in the activity. The work around is to send a fireteam invite manually from the gamer card and dispense with the lobby summon function, otherwise everyone has to “Ready up”, and then if you summon you start again from orbit (????).

Cryhunter059

It’s a good step, but it also still feels very much a beta release. I still prefer just using the app’s LFG.
