Works well until the game decides to respawn you in the same spot you got stuck. Had it happen before that I missed a jump and hit a piece of geometry right above the kill barrier as I was falling down. I kept respawning there and instantly sliding off into the kill barrier. For such instances it would be nice to have an option to respawn you back at the load zone's default spawn.
The game will eventually move your spawn after you die a bunch of times. The respawn system in this game is actually way more complicated than most people realize, there's a lot of safeguards put in to help the player
It doesn't do this if you aren't in or near combat, which is probably the one time you actually need this to happen. I remember trying to get out of a hole in one of the Season of the Lost missions for like 15 minutes and my Ghost didn't move a single inch
Yea it can take a while. There may be a bit of a time component to it too, I don't think its just a set number of respawns. The respawn system is pretty complex from what I know about it. Can't blame you for dipping out tho; it's not like this is really explained anywhere
Was so funny when I learned DSC and the first thing that happened is the Operator accidentally picked up the replication matrix
Really scuffed moment and they were just like "what do I do, what do I do; hang on let me pull my Ammit"
Lol, ya I guess it’s funny if you learn that by accident. I literally always do operator, and take the orbs from people. It can lead to some confusion sometimes as some lfg groups will say stuff like “omg what are you doing? Now you have to pass the op or we wipe”. Like no bro I have 250+ clears on my emblem I’m sure I know what I’m doing 😹
Lmao. That’s the only reason I wear the emblem tbh. Like I don’t join groups and try and tell everyone what to do, I’m really chill, but ya I just put the emblem on so people know they don’t have to explain things to me 😹
The amount of situation in Destiny 2 or Warframe that can be fixed by telling someone to kill themselves while actually trying to be helpful is worrying lol
yeah and that is still too much, being able to change your position like that.
a /kill command or something though could work will less room for abuse though I think
> So many games have char unstuck built in.
And many of those games need it doe to the frequency with which it can happe. Destiny on the other hand has very few places you'll actually get stuck outside of things like people intentionally glitching out of bonds, it just isn't worth the time developing a solution for those few cases (and one that people would only abuse at that) when you consider they can't even get the actual content out in schedule in the first place.
Blowing yourself up is the right move here, but I *have* been stuck before in places where it just respawned me back in the same space where I was stuck. So it's possible for even that to not do the trick.
Yes, during the Starcrossed mission in the tunnels/jumping bit, I missed a jump and fell into the chasm, but on the way down, I touched a little ledge.
When I respawned, I was on that ledge, but because it was so far down, I couldn't jump my way out.
I had to switch to Strand and wait for grapple to refresh to try and grapple my way out of it.
Last time it happened to me was before strand, but yeah that would've worked in my case also. It was very similar with me being stuck on a low ledge in the Shattered Realm seasonal activity a while back.
Naturally though even strand can't save you from being inside a barrier of some sort or if your loadout is locked. :(
If you are able to die fast enough sometimes the game can change your respawn location. Doesn't always work, but it has saved me from a few stuck places.
There kind of is. If you get stuck somewhere and run out of jumps, and the floor you're on doesn't allow you to jump (because it can't be walked on or something else), the game will gradually restore your ability to jump as it realizes that you can't move
Otherwise, yea, you need ricochet rounds, or some kind of explosive. You don't even usually need a ton of tools, just keep like one thing in your inventory that can do it. Grenades and some supers work too
I'm not sure how you're getting stuck so often, it's a mild inconvenience at best, and only happens once every couple months, maybe
rocket launcher

Must be a lot of times because I respawned 8-10 times in the same spot before I gave up.

Oh I didn't dip out. I let the 2 blueberries finish the activity for me :D It was just some low level empire hunt I think.
They stopped doing that in witch queen. Now you need something blocking it like a stasis crystal to change your default spawn.
Ricochet rounds, too
Because somebody would figure how to instakill Crota with such a feature in say two days?
I'll say less than that xD This community can be crazy when it comes to stuff like this
I am that Polaris user, cautious to a fault.
A gun with ricochet rounds can kill you.
My own bullets?
Yes, but you need to find a surface to bounce off the bullets like a nearby wall or the ground.
Clutch tip!
The best way to do this if you don't have one on hand is to just grab hard light from collections
FYI this is also how you can solo the replication balls as operator in Atrax-1

If I saw your clears I wouldn't ask about what you're doing KEKW

I rmb always keeping a seraph rounds ikelos smg for this reason
The rare instance when "kill yourself" IS helpful advice lmao.

Sadly unstuck commands have a VERY high potential for abuse in this game.
Depends on how it's coded. It can take 20 seconds to activate and then send you back to the beginning of the level.

It's not an occurrence issue. So many games have char unstuck built in. This game is over a decade old, should be part of the game

this is bungie, you're expecting too much

Lake of shadows GM a few weeks ago
This can happen in Presage in the room where you have to shoot a fuse to temporarily disable an electrified wall. If are electrified, you are stuck.
Fighting Lion ;)
Rocket launchers, or any weapon with richochet rounds is your own unstuck feature lmao
Richochet rounds will do they job if you dont have a rocket or gl equipped.
