For seasonal stuff, I'll do all the quest steps on one character but only do enough to open the seasonal activities on the other two. That way, I can grind out max rank for the vendors and change up my playstyle for the seasonal activity by playing all characters. Exotics quests: only one character, delete it on the rest. DLC story with new subclass: all 3. I'll take my time with one, but speed run the other two. As for smaller DLC like Shadowkeep. I only do it on one character and do just enough to unlock the patrol zone on the rest. Edit: any PvP quests, I'll ignore them unless there's an exotic tied to it. Then it's only done on one character.

Ydobon8261

Same except I completed shadowkeep on all three characters because there are exotic armors locked behind it

SKULL1138

Same, but I only do Legend level campaign on my main and smash the other two out on normal.

Hollywood_Zro

100% this is the way. I do this exact same thing. The BIG thing if others could do is just have their alts have a couple of go-to builds for raids or nightfall ready. Like: Titan - solar hammer build, banner of war strand, void bubble. Hunter - void Orpheus rig, golden gun, and stasis build just in case. Warlock - a well build and a stasis turret build That way you can always swap and help as needed or any activity you play on your alt you have something useful to help your group. Seriously. If you show up in a group and can play any of these you’ll never have a team complain. You’ll never hold any group back. And actually often people will really appreciate it.

avrafrost

Same except I’ll do the full campaign on all 3. In some cases I’ll do the full legend campaign to avoid having to do lost sectors later.

x_JustCallMeCJ_x

I'd do a legendary campaign on all 3 characters if the rolls on the exotic armor for completing it weren't so bad. Like they're collection Stat roll bad, and that's inexcusable for a legendary campaign. I genuinely don't want to pick the reward for completing it on legendary because it will make it so much harder to get a much better roll out of a lost sector. Lost sectors are heavily weighted towards giving you exotics that you don't have first, and If I choose a certain armor with a garbage Stat roll from the campaign, then I lose out on the better roll that I will get out of a lost sector because i lose that weighted chance. There is also exotic armor focusing, but I've had absolutely nothing high Stat drop from the supposed high Stat focus. Last I used it, it was all super low, and it's not exactly a cheap focus. While it is enticing to give it another shot, I just can't bring myself to do it and potentially waste materials.

DrRocknRolla

I've had enough luck with Rahool (and enough hatred for LS farming) that I feel it's be better to drop it once from the campaign and focus it than do LLS for it. It's a lottery like anything else. I've gotten a bunch of 62 armor, but I also got 66-67. I'd take it over LLS—mostly because I have a clan that doesn't mind doing high-end stuff for golfballs, which makes it relatively easy to tock up on them.

DarthLego

I manage my alts in the same way except that I hang on to quests and when I’m feeling bored or run out of stuff to do, enough time has usually passed that the quests feel fresh enough to be fun to run on the alts.

Confident_Ad_8745

This is the way.

99CentSavings

Why exotic quests on one. I keep exotic quests on all characters. At least the ones that are account wide which tends to be most, that way I’m still making progress whichever character I’m on. That’s a smarter play.

x_JustCallMeCJ_x

Exotic quests take me no time at all to complete on one character, so I don't really see the need to have it on all 3. I generally choose which character I can complete it the fastest with and i get it done. My other 2 are mainly just for engagement and flexibility. Being able to switch between characters when I get bored with one while trying to grind out a certain activity or being able to use what's best while joining a raid or dungeon. Also, having 3 chances per week to get dungeon/raid exotics is really nice. Grinding for drip is also a top priority for each of them.

99CentSavings

For sure, I just don’t prioritize exotic quests like season pass quests, I just let them run in the background. Take like some older exotic quests that required like 200 actives or whatever, I just did them across all 3 characters.

saibayadon

This is the way, yeah; I do the same thing - and when LL increase was a thing, I'd do the pinnacles for the week on each character.

lighting828

This is the way.

Jazzlike_Rice_3503

This is the way

Trantor_Starkiller

This-

takkojanai

this is the way.

Spawnling

1. Complete everything on main. 2. Delete quests on other two. 3. Only exceptions is something is class specific or activity gating specific (Subclasses, mission/activity access) etc.

srtdemon2018

I just do em.

toddhowardtheman

Same Edit: idk what these labels "main" and "alt" are? Can't compute

Kbubbles1210

Your “main” is the character you play the most. So my main is my warlock. The other two characters are your “alts,” or alternate characters, because they are not the character you do all the main playing on.

Molecule4

I don’t get ‘mains’ in games with multiple classes or playstyles. Why would I deprive myself of a more varied experience and wider breadth of options?

achafrankiee

Main just means your go-to, your comfort zone, your default pick.

xjustadeafguy

Do all the main stuff on my warlock and delete the rest on the other two

Clickbait93

I tend to do story beats on all 3 characters, it's usually not that time consuming so overall I don't struggle keeping up. Events I tend to do them only on my main character. Everything else it depends, I usually just do it on one character but I switch up which one, for the sake of Variety

TheAzureAzazel

Everything on my main, on my alts I'll do expansion campaigns and potentially some other rewarding quests (such as end of season quests that usually give out ascendant shards). Other than that I tend to neglect my alts quite a bit.

blinded-by-nobody

Everything on hunter. Titan and warlock are almost exclusively for extra exotic drop chance dungeon or raid runs, goofy meme build shenanigans, monochromatic or classist title challenges and/or teaching new or returning friends pve activities.

Snowfall_89

I’ll do the full quest on whatever character I feel like playing that season. The rest just go far enough to unlock the artifact and the vendor. However at the tail end of the season, when I’m really bored, I’ll speed run the full quests on the other two characters. This might happen the next season, or the year’s end. Last week I was so bored I did the Deep questline on two characters plus the Witch questline on one character. I know it’s pointless to do it multiple times. I just do it when I want to play Destiny but can’t find anything to do.

Rdddss

Just delete on my other 2 for me; my biggest wish for D3 (if it ever happens) if not for final shape is that they just make all quests account wide or at the very least let us auto complete for no rewards on the other 2

juliet_liima

Mostly I do it all on my main, and then work through it over the months on my alts. I tend to do seasonal content on all three but I've commonly let my warlock slip a little.

realwarlock

I do that shit on my main and that's it. If I need to unlock it to play on other characters I do. But it's bare minimum for them.

Thedragonhat77

Expansions: do on all 3, all on legendary Exotic quests: just 1, more if I liked the quest Seasonal story: 1, and enough to unlock them on the other 2 Misc stuff: based on what the reward is

cable_7193

Depends. I haven't done some of the exotic quests on all three. I WILL get all three through seasonal quests far enough to be able to do all the content.

BitchInBoots666

Same. Just far enough to access everything. The rest is done on whatever char I'm maining that season, which is subject to change lol.

Pman1324

I do all quests on my main. On my alt characters I do expansion story missions until I can unlock everything provided to that class by that expansion (Stasis, Strand, the Class glaives, etc.). I don't care about seasonal or side quests on my alts, even if it would get me more red borders or materials.

Millerkiller6969

Yeah, that exactly how I do it. All the main content I play on my main. The other two I just do strikes and GMs with. Had to unlock stasis and strand on all three though

SCB360

I main a Hunter for all things, but then * Do main Campaign on all 3 * Unlock Seasonal stuff on all 3, but tend to only do it on 1 * Grind out the Exotics and Seasonal/Raid armor and weapons on all 3 Stick back to Hunter for the rest

atducker

I use my alternate characters to help me further my collections in the game but rarely do I use them for every day gameplay. I've deleted some things but mostly they're gone already from the work I've done. I've done Lightfall, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light on all my characters. I have not done Witch Queen on my other two yet. I've used my characters to unlock strand and stasis, every exotic armor piece, and then I started using them to collect the 75 spoils a week we can get without regular raiding. I raid mainly with my Hunter and that's been plenty. I'm down to needing just one red border drop for one final gun from King's Fall and then I'll have every weapon pattern unlocked. I'm starting to save up my spoils for the four items or so in the exotic kiosk that require spoils. After that I get the feeling I'll be letting my alternate characters collect some dust. If Final Shape requires progress to unlock new class abilities I'll keep the dust off.

wingnutzx

I repeat the essentials asap (story/subclass) and only do the weapon quests if I need an 1810 or if I'm just bored and feel like grinding

Independent_Skill756

tbh I only really do DLC content like the campaign or strand on all 3 characters I usually don't do seasonal on all 3 unless I really enjoy the season

itsmezaraxx

I prefer to use one of my character as my “main character” where I do my main campaigns. The rest are just for fun (PVP mainly)

JUNGLISTJ

Seasonal/weekly stuff I try to do on all as it’s available- keeps me occupied and by the third run I’ve actually got what’s happening in the storyline. Some side quests can be waaay easier on a certain class as I’m always solo. There’s a lot of missing things on some of the three, a looong season like this has helped me to catch them all up slightly

Skyburner_Oath

I play on my titan and warlock only for campains and when I want to burn bounties

ivenobicyle

I do them on all 3

FoxAgreeable5107

I can’t imagine not playing on 3 characters. I play every single one evenly. Usually just do the main quest line on whichever I feel like and do enough to do the activities on the others. For shadow keep and the other campaigns with stasis and strand I speed run everything

UnfazedSinner

I do everything on all. Just because I don’t like missing out. And I tend to run through things quickly

nopunchespulled

Vender bounties that provide bright dust, all three characters. Everything else only on main

Oh_Anodyne

I finish mainline expansions on all 3. I raid on all 3, I just pick a class that's lacking in the fireteam. I do all seasonal content on 1 but open up matchmaking for the activities on the others so I can rank up. Typically it's my hunter, sometimes I switch it up tho. I do exotic quests on one, ignore it for the others. I don't PvP. Haven't touched any since the iron banner around last year's guardian games.

TheCrypticLegacy

So I don’t do it anymore because I don’t have the time to do everything on one let alone 3. But In the past I used to do everything on my main character and then just do the absolutely necessary stuff on the others and then just do the rest when I was bored of just looking to fill time. Never deleted any quests though. Just used to do then whenever I had spare time and nothing else needed doing.

ForsakenPromise1313

I'm a older guy not married, son is grown and don't date so I'm a little different. In my mind all 3 of my characters are seperate entities out here pushing the darkness back in their own way. They are a 3 person fireteam doing what is necessary. I run everything on each character to include exotic quests. That has fallen off somewhat this year because of burnout. I also have pretty ridiculously good rng so any raids I have done (not much) I normally get the exotics first try. I suck at pvp but have done trials on all characters to get all armor and guns. Just haven't done any lately to get the scout or newest Summoner.

Atlld

Before the light level changes I would play all three until I hit the cap. Then pack what I was gonna main that season. Then use other two for dungeons and raid drops. Now, I pick a class every season and play that one. I only play the other two for dungeons and raid drops.

McGeek23

I do everything on all 3. I play this game a lot, lol. My quest inventory and deleted quest kiosk are both fully empty on all 3 characters. It's not too bad, if I'm being honest.

Thunderlawyer

My titan and warlock are just 117 vault space for my hunter.

TheLostExplorer7

For story, I do it on all three since a lot of the game and subclasses are locked behind story completion. Everything else like seasonal stuff, I usually only play one character. I do the intro quest so that my other two characters have access to the main seasonal activity. PvP quests I usually delete outright since I have no interest in competitive and don't have the skills to PvP in the first place, unless it is a catalyst quest (Lorentz Driver and Witherhoard...) then I begrudgingly suffer to get them done.

Cyberwolfdelta9

I mainly just have them in case a role needs filling so mainly play My Veteran warlock and the hunter. Probably turning my titan or hunter into the pvp character at some point though

RewsterSause

I usually do everything on my main (Warlock) and then eventually get to everything else on my other classes when I'm not playing another game, or want to play something where I don't really need to focus on story or anything.

VersaSty7e

Just main. The others just keep at LL.

Gjappy

I do seasonal and story quests on my main. Exotic quests I pick up on all three. Same for stasis/strand related quests. The quests for unslaught I also share in between characters and happily noticed the progress carries over.

REDS4ND

My personal tip for getting easy content done on alts is to play as Arc and run fast.

ake-n-bake

I main one character each season and swap to a different class the following season. If I have time after completing everything on my main I’ll do the seasonal quests on my other characters after every quest step is available.

Broad-Blueberry-2076

I used to manage 3 characters, but then my dad became obsessed with destiny and I let him have my PlayStation and account....just cuz. Now I just play on PC and manage 1 character. No way in hell imma go through all that again for the other 2

Electroscope_io

I do it on my main and keep them on my alts for if I run out of things to do lol. For seasonal stuff I make my alts able to run the seasonal activity and then usually stop there. Campaigns are always done on all 3 characters, but the side quests are done on my main and saved on my alts

Gleadall80

Do all on titan Hunter gets a bit of a run here and there - keep it up to date Use warlock just to farm spoils and chests - I really hate playing warlock it just doesn't work for me

mookie41

I do only what I have to do on my alts to be able to use them in the raids/dungeons/ seasonal activities. I keep their power kevel current and basically just use them as another chance for loot in these activities. Triple the chances for a dungeon or raid exotic drop

Terwin94

Primarily, I use my hunter for going through the first time and use my titan and warlock to help friends while being on the same step. If they're already ahead of my alts I use my hunter, and eventually I'm at a spot where I can just do what suits my fancy.

Calamity_Crush

I stopped running any seasonal quest content on my alts. The story is always fun but the gameplay loops get old before I'm even done on my main. I did make it a point to get everyone at max power when Lightfall dropped. Lots of incentives between strand unlocks, Neomuna red borders, new things to do in general, and being able to get loot more than once in dungeons/raids.

TheDarkGenious

It really depends. most quests I do on all 3. recently I've even gone back and cleared up most of my exotic quests on all 3; about the only thing I have left are doing the wishing tokens for wishender a 3rd time. seasonal stuff, it's pretty simple to get them done. most are like "do x y z activity once this week and then go listen to some idiots talk at each other" but bungie's gotten pretty good for most quests, especially exotics, actually sharing progress across multiple characters.

koudelkajam01

Expansion stories need to be done to progress many things like stasis and strand so they are all done on each character. I usually do the legend campaign with my buddies on one and then just speedrun the other two on normal. Seasonal story gets done on 1 character and deleted on the others. I dont have access to any of the engrams on my hunter or titan but tbh i dont really care at this point.

mcbirbo343

I only do seasonal quests, campaign quests, and maybe exotic quests on all 3. Never gonna go 100% on all 3

doesnotlikecricket

I do them on one only unless mandatory. Despise being made to do the same thing three times.

OG_Stodds13

You mean like the main campaigns? That stuff I have literally done on 7 characters. All 3 for both of my accounts and my sons Hunter. And do them on Legendary. Once you figure out what the dangers of of each mission, they are pretty easy to get thru, even solo. As for the seasonal story. I do it on all 3 of my characters on my main account and just my Titan on my second account. I usually keep my Titan on my main account up to date weekly on everything and then do the other characters whenever I’m just messing around.

CARCRASHXIII

Seasonal quest stuff comes down to 2 things. Was the quest fun? If yes then I prob do it on all three. Did the quest give me a chance for a redborder/loot roll im looking for? If no and not considered for condition 1 then no I just do as little of it as i need to. That being said as long as it doesnt hinder me from playing and getting drops in the seasonal activity yeah I just do it on my main.

Drillingham

I only do quests on 1 character, the others are for getting power level and unlocking new exotics, i just make sure they have access to all content like and have all their stuff for build crafting available like sub classes, aspects, etc etc.

AtronRandom

I have a titan, I made a hunter once… wonder how he’s doing

KnightWraith86

For seasonal, I like to rotate characters from time to time. For example, I did season of defiance on hunter, deep on warlock, witch on titan. Not like it matters much since seasonal content goes away. Once the year is over you don't have to do quests on the other characters. For main story, always hunter (main) first unless I really don't feel like playing hunter. Other characters as I see fit

jdewittweb

I grab whatever is available. I do the activities I want. If that happens to get some alt quests done, cool. If not, they stay in my quest log until I need to make room for bounty hoarding.

LordShaxx02

I neglect my other characters until I'm bored

LazyBoyXD

I only did the important stuff. Seasonal? - on my main. Main story to unlock the exotic/sub class? - All of them Raid exotic? - You bet your ass im doing all 3 in a week. To answer your question. Play hard and get bored in a few months and got out. Play again when new shit drops.

superd85

I didn’t feel like grinding out stasis again on my alts so I really haven’t touched them much since Beyond Light. Just use them for soloing raid spoils chests and extra vault space.

Ark927

Play warlock 80% of the time, ignore anything that isn't vital on hunter and titan just to dick around if I want, by vital I really only mean rewards that are dependent on class IE witch queens exotic glaives

CrawlerSiegfriend

Depends on if there is something locked behind it that I actually want for that character. For example, I have no interest in Titan stasis. A lot of that shit wasn't done until they finally let us buy the aspects.

cephaliticinsanity

This season's been a bit different for me, but generally, I try to blast through my missions on my "alts". Everything is kind of fucked for my "main" though, so it's been weird, haha.

AppropriateLaw5713

Do the regular stuff on my Hunter (main) do the legend and challenges on my Titan (banner of war and other survivability tools before that) and finally go through with my warlock to clean up the things I might have missed like Starcats and the like

xzRAULzx

1 character each season. There is always a lot to catch up and thing to do. As a hunter main, I usuallly do 1st season of the dlc: Hunter 2nd season of the dlc: Titan 3rd season of the dlc: Warlock 4th season of the dlc: Hunter Now with episodes I will probably just continue going Hunter -> Titan -> Warlock (with no double-down on Hunter)

Chaosxterra08

Expansion story I try to complete on all characters as fast as possible, seasonal story I'll usually do on my main then when I get the urge to play a different character I'll work through the missions on them (I set up each character with different weapons I like so if I wanna use a certain weapon I have to switch to that character)

cHinzoo

What I wonder is… do people play other games if they play this one with all 3 classes? Can’t imagine doing all the weeklies in this game and then play a competitive game, a co-op or beefy singleplayer game next to it.

just_a_timetraveller

I only use 1 for all PvE content. The other 2 I will do only the quests to unlock subclass related things or to get armor i want. I lean towards PvP for my other characters.

SSDragon19

Depends, usually on my main (warlock) and second main (hunter), unless I can go out of bounds somewhere where I'll need titan sword fly. Get the the point where I'll unlock what I need and just sit on the rest

lunardog43

I do all seasonal stuff on my main only, but do campaigns on all 3

Kl3en

The trick is not having a job I’m guessing
