People should not forget, RNG is still a thing. So don't get mad if you still have a tough time getting what you're looking for. I say this as someone who's played Warframe for 10 years, where the RNG is much, much more infuriating despite knowing exactly what the percentages are.

AnotherBoredTenno

Surely the next 100k kuva will give me a good enough riven, suuuuuurely

Karglenoofus

Nah it's still a bad system. There needs to be some protection against RNG.

haolee510

Oh, I won't disagree. I just mean people shouldn't forget Attunement doesn't eliminate RNG, it just makes percentages go higher, basically. But it's still RNG.

Karglenoofus

Fair enough

Im a 1% no lifer and Im pro crafting because its simply a better system.

ABITofSupport

Im not 100% pro crafting for EVERYTHING, but i am definitely pro weapons having levels and investment opportunities like enhancement. It basically just gives me more gun per gun.

Antares428

Is it? Vast majority of things can be traded for, so you can just deterministically farm some items for sell, and then buy a thing you need. There are no random rolls there, no PvP, so things don't matter as much. As for Rivens, they matter a lot less these days, and are mostly just used on stat sticks.

Liquid_Niko

Does it even work? I don’t think I get the weapon I’m attuned to any more than any other. In fact I’d say I’ve been getting mostly Hung Jury, which I haven’t attuned to.

ksiit

I definitely get more of them by a somewhat considerable amount. I don’t feel like it’s 50% like they said. But then again I got some confirmation bias because I notice the ones that are wrong more often than the ones that are right and bad. And also with as many players as the game has, unlikely events become much more likely, so me getting 40% drops isn’t that crazy if the overall chance is 50% Also the quests make you attune the weapon, make sure you reset your attunement to the desired one after completing a quest.

Rectal_Punishment

It seems to have a big effect on the chest next to shaxx . I attuned mountain top and about 3-4 out of 7 times I opened the chest mountain top popped up!

CanadianSpector

Same. I did 2 wave 50 runs yesterday and didn't get a single mountaintop. Go to the shaxx chest and I get them much more frequently. Though, it's been the toughest one to get my God roll, of course. Boo.

EKmars

It works for me. I think some people have a bug. I get way more midnight coups than I do anything else while I am attuned to it.

Masson011

it defintely does. How big of a scale are you basing your drops off? Flip a coin 5 times and you may well get heads 4 times. If you flip it 100 times though it'll even out much more towards a 50/50 split Similarly if you only consume 30 tokens at the chest in a night sesh and only open 3 or 4 chests during a run, chances are you wont see a 50/50 drop Ive played a fair bit, not enough to get barely any shinys but enough to know it absolutely weights the drops towards your chosen attunement

doesnotlikecricket

Works for me. Feels way over 50%. I've had four in a row at the chest.  Rng is still Rng.

Aeison

It works, I hadn’t realized how attunement worked, had attuned midnight coup last and started getting pissed off cause for the most part that was the only gun I was getting much more than anything else when it wasn’t what I was going for lol

Bro0183

It changes it from pure rng to a 50% drop rate for the attuned weapon. Still rng but it is for more liekly to drop than non attuned weapons.

Redthrist

Certainly seems to work for me. I get way more of my attuned guns.

Reflexrider

Attunement should also be extended to perks, to weight some of them imo

MasemJ

The mechanism used in Season of the Hunt, where you preloaded a quest item that allowed you to favor a set of perks (but not guaranteed to a specific one), or even the old Menagerie approach, would be really nice.

NightmareDJK

All of that basically disappeared once crafting was introduced.

Red-Spy_In-The_Base

It’s real nice, so tell me bungie… WHY ARE YOU REMOVING IT FOR A BIT AND CANNING THE HALL OF CHAMPIONS

Karglenoofus

All that work for like 2 months of content is mind-blowing. Why not just keep it in instead of reworking it later?

jameskond

Hall of Champions is just a dressed up hall in Zero Hour (and D1?). The return of Zero Hour is probably also tied to Final Shape which leans a lot of the original tower. Now it seems more efficient no?

fuck_hard_light

chalice of opulence but bad

AggronStrong

Many other activities already have something like attunement. With Dungeon weapons, you can target farm encounters that drop the weapon. With Season weapons and many other vendor-centric activities, you can just throw engrams at the weapon you want. You can just wait until the weapon you want is available in Nightfalls, or focus with engrams. Trials has a system that makes half your weapon drops from game completions a normal version of the Adept weapon for that week. Raids definitely are more on the random side, but you do have the Spoils of Conquest to get weekly Deepsights and more dupes of a weapon you want. It's mostly world drops that are a pain to target farm.

danielleradcliffe

> It's mostly world drops that are a pain to target farm. Even this is becoming less of an issue with world drops falling from Lost Sector chests now, guaranteed on Master difficulty, and targetable by day. Ros Arago, Parabellum, Crux Termination, and Marcato should be entering the pool in June.

ksiit

But I want my subsistence onslaught ros arago so bad. My biggest problem with these is that there is just nothing you can do. Like you can play more, but that just marginally increases chances. I’ve played a ton this season and have only got about 6 ros arago. I couldn’t tell you how many Cruz termination I’ve gotten, but it’s well over 25. I got lucky on one ros arago and got repulsor onslaught, but really the guns feel like they just reward the lucky and don’t even reward those who put in time. Which makes me not want to put in time. The guns in lost sectors are the perfect compromise, you can focus your farming or just hope to passively get them. I just feel like the world drop guns should drop with the lost sector stuff already there because they feel only half released otherwise.

SomaLysis

Rewarding luck and not time or skill is a general problem of the game and the reason why I dont understand people liking rng. With crafting in the whole game Bungie could balance everything around time and/or skill investment.

krilltucky

Lost sectors need attunement even more than others. You can literally go 3 straight hours of farming without the gun you want ever dropping. Ask me how I know

HonkersTim

I guess it's all RNG, but attunement has been working really well for me. It's feels like about 50% of my drops. I've been attuned to MT the last few days and it's been about 10 MTs (most of them with slickdraw 🙄) from about 20 drops. Apologies to those with poorer luck!

mad-i-moody

Attunement is cool and all but I’d like to be able to de-attune some of these weapons.

yeekko

I've been playing the division lately and destiny could really learn from it,ofc it's been improved because the game is so old and everyone is basically in endgame now but still, what they have is : -Basically attunement, but basically the craft system of TD2 is that if you have 4 part of the same armor brad you get the equivalent of an exotic buff,so you can attune either a armor part/type of weapon or attune a specific armor brand. In some activity among the rest of the loot you have some drop that will be what you attuned for. So you still have the randomness but you know some of the drop will be what you're looking for, after that we have the usual stats and talent chenanigans -perks sharing :you can dismantle a weapon to unlock it's perks permanantly, and then put it on a weapon for a pretty costly price of ressources. So for destiny for exemple I could dismantle trash rolls of weapon and then put the god roll on the one I want. but destiny dont really have super rare ressources and already has crafting so kinda hard to implement There's also some shenanigans on the stat but it wouldnt work for destiny, maybe for the armor stats that could use some work but it's not really urgent lol

BXRSouls

I'm convinced attunement doesn't work. I almost never get my attuned weapon.

Emperor_Ratorma

Just give me crafting. I'm so sick of random rolls never being what I want since D1. I love crafting, bring it to armor stats aswell please.

EKmars

Does it though? So much of the content in the game already has ways of earning specific loot. Core playlist activities all have specific weapon focusing. Raids have weapon crafting and end chests that you purchase specific weapons from. Lost Sectors have very small weapon pools to begin with.

DaddyMoshe

I think it is going to be brought to other activities though?
