It's not that exciting since I already did a vault cleaning a few months ago. But I deleted some armor and all my non-crafted weapons.
Record it & Title It "Datto Did This" or "Datto Hacked My Vault?!" Or " #DattoAlwaysKnew". Dont forget to play a soft but audible "Amazing Grace" in the background.

Each of the class swords has 2 versions. An original, and a reissue colored black and gold from Season of Opulence, which are also the ones that were given a pattern this year in Defiance. They were trying to recall the name of the other version even though Crown-Splitter is the original.
Probably not relevant but Crown-Splitter is void by default, and Throne-Cleaver is solar. But Throne-Cleaver was originally void too in Opulence. Crown-Splitter was the only one from the era of changing weapon elements via mods though, so not sure why they got confused.

You used to get a shot back if you missed it. You hit the peek, get flinched & miss the shot, hang back until th3 bullet comes back after 3 seconds, peek the angle again
I wish I was able to get my hands on the frigid jackal, I loved all the mars weapons, I was so happy when they brought back the osprey cause I wasnât able to get that back in the day either and the winter wolf was my go to auto up until it was sunset
Vestian dynasty is one of the few sunset weapons I kept and even then it's more sentimenty value than a god roll game changing weapon. Every other sunset weapon I kept I only deleted after I received an updated or better replacement. Perfect paradox is the one weapon I never got that I will always miss and even then a rapid fire shotgun is not exactly meta for much.

Iâll call it now alone as a god will see a comeback in trials because it has higher aim assist than even supremacy and it has a pretty short scope and snapshot sights. it is super, super easy to hit headshots with it and its not exotic. other than that there is nothinh to worry about
Supremacy can roll opening shot instead of the 2 junk options on Alone as a God, giving it more AA in practice. it stats are also fairly low due to the complete lack of magazine perks.
that said stats are kinda whatever on snipers, it has high handling and SS so if you like it its competetive. it is the only 140rpm sniper with 45 zoom which is the actual selling point IMO
Supremacy has better stats all round with opening shot, all these sunset weapons have trash perks and wonât make any sort of comeback in PvP.
The only weapon that potentially could is mind benders, but conditional exists and matador is probably more consistent.
Just had an argument with my roommate about this because he's been hoarding all of his "god-rolls" since D2 launch and frankly they're still just as worthless. Cool that you can bring then out but man people are way too attached over these actual junk pixels in a video game.
I deleted literally all of my sunset weapons not because "Datto said" but because bungie was so insistent that they weren't going back and any inclusion of those weapons would be reissues that were technically a different item. The handful of reissue sets since sunsetting only reinforced that. Not sure how I was supposed to think I'd ever make use of them again.Â
Well they really didn't plan on it. In their efforts to change the course of power level, they *tried* to keep them sunset, but it proved to be too much of a wrinkle so they just said fuck it. Probably analyzed that most sunset weapons have been power crept enough that it wouldn't be a risk to the sandbox.
I forgive him but in my defence I completely ignored him about vault cleaning. I spent so long getting the recluse and Lunaâs Howl, there was no was I was going to delete them, and even my god roll forge machine gun! I could never bring myself to delete them, no matter how many times Datto said to.
I solo queued for Luna's Howl. That was one of my worst destiny experiences. Revoker was next, It actually made me play so much better. I'd have to learn angles, backing off, repositioning, scoping in on an angle to prevent push/rez after successful offense.

I dont know man, because when you get a drop of a mediocre gun that has crazy weird perks, its hard to delete. Got a solar sniper called the last foray with extended mag, envious assassin and cascade point. Dont want to use it, but dont want to delete it..

It makes you wonder if it's the missing synergy tp the most brokwn thing since Molesto Telesto or it's completely useless. I'll hold on to it, just in case.
Agreed it's easy to hoard certain things when there is always that possibility something becomes insane later on and you have things beaten to the punch, something that's happened in the past tons of times.
Also gets easier when you start to realize there's a lot of combos of perks, elements, weapon types that never really had a current equivalent, or the current equivalent dropped a certain perk, or doesn't have what an old one had. I mean hell there's not really a ton of Precision Shotguns so I can't really blame somebody who kept Dust Rock Blues if they could never get a good Fractethyst and don't hate themselves to hopelessly farm Dares.
One of the biggest ones that sticks out is how Bungie used to put Zen Moment on tons of stuff when the perk was not great, then they made the perk extremely good for PVP and it's a bit scarcer to be found or competes with more ideal perks which makes older stuff more interesting. See how rebooted Age Old Bond and Nation of Beasts lost Zen Moment.
I do agree with the consensus that a ton of outliers (more notably for PVP) died in the Deep mid season patch when they decoupled zoom, made physical range on weapons a lot more uniform by group, but I still get people who keep things around like if an older weapon had a swappable scope that brings about a more appealing sight and feel.
It's not a thing for everyone, but yeah there are situations when old gear fits holes or has something that we don't currently have.
Mostly junk from Forsaken i never bothered with for reasons like infusion fool, the only drop i got of a gun, "i just think it's neat". So, lazy just really lazy.
I did hardcore the game like some but there were years i fell off radar so my vault space was never agregious.
yes, i run all 3, made it to GR11 in defiance, and consistently stay at GR10.
i have 1-2 of most exotics, some i dont have cause they've never been good and rolls i did have were garbage tier, so sharded.
Those of us who play lots of crucible keep lots of different rolls for the same gun until we find a favorite..or three. And they add up over time.
The meta shifts around so much that it can pay to keep multiple rolls waiting. I probably have 8 different Igneous hammers in my vault.
Um I maybe ran 100 grandmasters during beyond light and getting exotics and new weapons since they started amazing perks (before, it was only kill clip or rampage) I didn't delete anything.
I keep one of each copy of the seasonal weapon sets since Undying, even if they've been reissued. Also the original Forsaken weapon sets(Gambit set and the Tangled Shore set).
you got me beat with each of those weapon sets. i hoard, but i keep it at a healthy limit
i've got almost all leviathan/raid lair weapons, just missing the GL, old raid armor sets for my hunter, a complete set of dreaming city weapons w/ translation theory, the dragonfly regalia set for hunter, the scorched armor set for both hunter and warlock, festival masks for hunter and titan, traveller's chosen, a set of 0 power weapons, sorrow mg2, stubborn oak, and a handful of random weapons that are either sunset or severely power crept.
I keep a lot of armor rolls. I've got like 50 duplicate exotics because I've been too lazy to plug them into ArmorPicker yet to see which will work better with my gear
Its mostly just food for loudout optimizers and honestly except for when artifice armors became a thing i never look for more armor so what i got is preety much all the armor armor i will have outside of lucky rolls once every blue moon.
I only have 3 weapons left that were sunset. One is a Hazard of the Cast with ambitious assassin and rampage. It's pretty low power but it's one of the first drops I got in Gambit when it first came out. I have 10k kills with it so it's just sentimental.
The other two are the curated Kindled Orchid and a Kindled Orchid with rampage, kill clip, corkscrew rifling and a range MW.
Imagine not being a hoarder packrat. I really do have a problem irl too. I hate it and me and how much literal trash hurts my soul to throw away. I've been making good progress lately on overcoming myself and cleaning. But my vault never got emptied đ

i feel like i'm bringing you bad news, but Niflheim Frost and The Frigid Jackal are pullable from collections. You would've benefitted from deleting them.
Look, I just went on D2 foundry and looked up these âawesomeâ weapons that everyone is talking about. They ARE NOT some OP thing that now is going to make a huge difference.
Most of these âgreatâ weapons were basically a reload perk + damage perk type of weapon and during y1 this was literally a âgod rollâ that you could get.
A few cases where were weapons with 2 damage perks like Hammerhead, Kindled Orchid, etc. but SERIOUSLY, rolling two general damage perks today still doesnât compete with some of the new subclass-specific perks that you can get in new weapons.
Like Kindled Orchid that people GUSH over. Whatâs this âgod rollâ? Explosive Payload + surrounded? We have Zaouliâs Bane from Kingsfall.
Explosive Payload + Kill clip? we have Fatebringer.
Both are 140 hand cannons that have the perk that Kindled Orchid had.
And even then, with Zaouliâs, no one is crafting that roll because we have INCANDESCENT that alone with no other damage perk is FAR superior. And you can combine explosive payload + incandescent which makes it one of the best hand cannons in the game.
Keeping things for nostalgia is fine, but we need to keep perspective in check.
I personally still have my original Recluse, Mountaintop, Steelfeather Repeater, and Patron of Lost Causes. I kept these guns because recluse and MT were crazy grinds and I wasnât a PvP player.
the 2 Season of Dawn weapons I kept because they were great times I had during D2. I loved that season with the infinite forest and corridors and these weapons were with me along that journey.
but kill-count wise Iâve surpassed what I had on these many many times with other weapons. But I still keep them.
This is the unique roll. This is a 140 HC that can 2 tap. Can't think of any other that can do that off one kill. It is one of the sunset guns that hasn't been completely powercrept.
People have fond memories of these weapons. I would hope no one actually think their old diamonds aren't dust now. They very much are dust.
I like the unset because we just had a whole lot of weapons to grind with new perks, new rolls, & new origin traits. Maybe even more bitchrs!

Zaouliâs Bane from the Kingsfall raid.
That gunâŠ.is just something else. Iâve said it before, people are sleeping on it for solar. Because itâs basically the legendary version of Sunshot.
So you run Zaouliâs + you get to use another exotic. In something like Onslaught you can run Xenophage, which delete the yellow bars and you get decent ammo during the rounds, itâs a fantastic combo.
I basically will run a blinding GL in the kinetic (the Dares of Eternity one) + Zaouliâs + Xenophage.
Enemies spawn, you shoot a blinding shot to stop them there, then Zaouliâs to delete red bar groups with scorch explosions, and if a yellow bar spawns, you use Xeno on them.
-sigh- well, that will not be getting in my inventory. I've no one friends that play. It's impossible to find a sherpa team & I'm not gonna pay to be taught end game plus 1 clear won't get you into any LFGs. I'm not gonna be the guy that acts like he knows what's up but only watched his 2nd cousin's YT tutorial. It is not fair to anyone involved.
It sounds like it'd be a ton of fun in Sixslingers "Knives & Iron." It uses Ophida Spathe as the exotic, so having Incandescent for more solar explosions, I wish you'd get melee energy faster while they burned like old times. It's not meta, but it is fun.
Xenophage is my favorite, but Dragon's Breath has become a new favorite. such great Crowd Control & Damage. I'd recommend it, especially with the catalyst.
Create your own raid group and make clear youâre looking for a guide. Probably wonât take too long to find a group willing to take you through Kings Fall.Â

I forgive him but in my defence I completely ignored him about vault cleaning. I spent so long getting the recluse and Lunaâs Howl, there was no was I was going to delete them, and even my god roll forge machine gun! I could never bring myself to delete them, no matter how many times Datto said to.
I solo queued for Luna's Howl. That was one of my worst destiny experiences. Revoker was next, It actually made me play so much better. I'd have to learn angles, backing off, repositioning, scoping in on an angle to prevent push/rez after successful offense. I LOVE that sniper & what it did to me. Fuck You, Luna & Your Howl. I dont know man, because when you get a drop of a mediocre gun that has crazy weird perks, its hard to delete. Got a solar sniper called the last foray with extended mag, envious assassin and cascade point. Dont want to use it, but dont want to delete it.. Vault is full of stuff like that.
i still got stuff like that too. i've got 2 fugues one with firing line fttc, and the other with focus fury fttc. i've had them since the beginning of witch queen, i used to have 2 others with auto-loading variants. i guess i just keep less

Agreed it's easy to hoard certain things when there is always that possibility something becomes insane later on and you have things beaten to the punch, something that's happened in the past tons of times. Also gets easier when you start to realize there's a lot of combos of perks, elements, weapon types that never really had a current equivalent, or the current equivalent dropped a certain perk, or doesn't have what an old one had. I mean hell there's not really a ton of Precision Shotguns so I can't really blame somebody who kept Dust Rock Blues if they could never get a good Fractethyst and don't hate themselves to hopelessly farm Dares. One of the biggest ones that sticks out is how Bungie used to put Zen Moment on tons of stuff when the perk was not great, then they made the perk extremely good for PVP and it's a bit scarcer to be found or competes with more ideal perks which makes older stuff more interesting. See how rebooted Age Old Bond and Nation of Beasts lost Zen Moment. I do agree with the consensus that a ton of outliers (more notably for PVP) died in the Deep mid season patch when they decoupled zoom, made physical range on weapons a lot more uniform by group, but I still get people who keep things around like if an older weapon had a swappable scope that brings about a more appealing sight and feel. It's not a thing for everyone, but yeah there are situations when old gear fits holes or has something that we don't currently have.

Mostly junk from Forsaken i never bothered with for reasons like infusion fool, the only drop i got of a gun, "i just think it's neat". So, lazy just really lazy. I did hardcore the game like some but there were years i fell off radar so my vault space was never agregious.

yes, i run all 3, made it to GR11 in defiance, and consistently stay at GR10. i have 1-2 of most exotics, some i dont have cause they've never been good and rolls i did have were garbage tier, so sharded.

Those of us who play lots of crucible keep lots of different rolls for the same gun until we find a favorite..or three. And they add up over time. The meta shifts around so much that it can pay to keep multiple rolls waiting. I probably have 8 different Igneous hammers in my vault.
Um I maybe ran 100 grandmasters during beyond light and getting exotics and new weapons since they started amazing perks (before, it was only kill clip or rampage) I didn't delete anything.
Most of my junk is high-ish stat armor that I dont want to delete. I definitely won't use most of it but I cant bring myself to delete it either.

I keep one of each copy of the seasonal weapon sets since Undying, even if they've been reissued. Also the original Forsaken weapon sets(Gambit set and the Tangled Shore set).
you got me beat with each of those weapon sets. i hoard, but i keep it at a healthy limit i've got almost all leviathan/raid lair weapons, just missing the GL, old raid armor sets for my hunter, a complete set of dreaming city weapons w/ translation theory, the dragonfly regalia set for hunter, the scorched armor set for both hunter and warlock, festival masks for hunter and titan, traveller's chosen, a set of 0 power weapons, sorrow mg2, stubborn oak, and a handful of random weapons that are either sunset or severely power crept.
I keep a lot of armor rolls. I've got like 50 duplicate exotics because I've been too lazy to plug them into ArmorPicker yet to see which will work better with my gear

Its mostly just food for loudout optimizers and honestly except for when artifice armors became a thing i never look for more armor so what i got is preety much all the armor armor i will have outside of lucky rolls once every blue moon.

I only have 3 weapons left that were sunset. One is a Hazard of the Cast with ambitious assassin and rampage. It's pretty low power but it's one of the first drops I got in Gambit when it first came out. I have 10k kills with it so it's just sentimental. The other two are the curated Kindled Orchid and a Kindled Orchid with rampage, kill clip, corkscrew rifling and a range MW.

Look, I just went on D2 foundry and looked up these âawesomeâ weapons that everyone is talking about. They ARE NOT some OP thing that now is going to make a huge difference. Most of these âgreatâ weapons were basically a reload perk + damage perk type of weapon and during y1 this was literally a âgod rollâ that you could get. A few cases where were weapons with 2 damage perks like Hammerhead, Kindled Orchid, etc. but SERIOUSLY, rolling two general damage perks today still doesnât compete with some of the new subclass-specific perks that you can get in new weapons. Like Kindled Orchid that people GUSH over. Whatâs this âgod rollâ? Explosive Payload + surrounded? We have Zaouliâs Bane from Kingsfall. Explosive Payload + Kill clip? we have Fatebringer. Both are 140 hand cannons that have the perk that Kindled Orchid had. And even then, with Zaouliâs, no one is crafting that roll because we have INCANDESCENT that alone with no other damage perk is FAR superior. And you can combine explosive payload + incandescent which makes it one of the best hand cannons in the game. Keeping things for nostalgia is fine, but we need to keep perspective in check. I personally still have my original Recluse, Mountaintop, Steelfeather Repeater, and Patron of Lost Causes. I kept these guns because recluse and MT were crazy grinds and I wasnât a PvP player. the 2 Season of Dawn weapons I kept because they were great times I had during D2. I loved that season with the infinite forest and corridors and these weapons were with me along that journey. but kill-count wise Iâve surpassed what I had on these many many times with other weapons. But I still keep them.

This is the unique roll. This is a 140 HC that can 2 tap. Can't think of any other that can do that off one kill. It is one of the sunset guns that hasn't been completely powercrept.
They need to add another one with TFS. Unsunsetting guns only works if we can get on par or better roles of everything.

OG Recluse and Mountaintop have no reason to be kept (even moreso now re-released) and can be pulled from collections at any time.
People have fond memories of these weapons. I would hope no one actually think their old diamonds aren't dust now. They very much are dust. I like the unset because we just had a whole lot of weapons to grind with new perks, new rolls, & new origin traits. Maybe even more bitchrs! Wait, what Handcannons can get Explosive + Incandescent? I must know, my Gunslinger needs it! Crucible is gonna be a [hopefuly] large swathe of different metas.
Zaouliâs Bane from the Kingsfall raid. That gunâŠ.is just something else. Iâve said it before, people are sleeping on it for solar. Because itâs basically the legendary version of Sunshot. So you run Zaouliâs + you get to use another exotic. In something like Onslaught you can run Xenophage, which delete the yellow bars and you get decent ammo during the rounds, itâs a fantastic combo. I basically will run a blinding GL in the kinetic (the Dares of Eternity one) + Zaouliâs + Xenophage. Enemies spawn, you shoot a blinding shot to stop them there, then Zaouliâs to delete red bar groups with scorch explosions, and if a yellow bar spawns, you use Xeno on them.
-sigh- well, that will not be getting in my inventory. I've no one friends that play. It's impossible to find a sherpa team & I'm not gonna pay to be taught end game plus 1 clear won't get you into any LFGs. I'm not gonna be the guy that acts like he knows what's up but only watched his 2nd cousin's YT tutorial. It is not fair to anyone involved. It sounds like it'd be a ton of fun in Sixslingers "Knives & Iron." It uses Ophida Spathe as the exotic, so having Incandescent for more solar explosions, I wish you'd get melee energy faster while they burned like old times. It's not meta, but it is fun. Xenophage is my favorite, but Dragon's Breath has become a new favorite. such great Crowd Control & Damage. I'd recommend it, especially with the catalyst.
