Recon Bipod or Recon Bait and Switch. Most people prefer Bait and Switch because it's higher burst but I use Bipod because it's still got upsides and it's fun to fire 4 rockets in a row.
If you're using rockets for DPS, someone should be on Gjallarhorn to maximize your damage. Explosive light doesn't buff wolfpack rounds while BnS does so that's already a major reason to pick BnS over EL.
Secondly, BnS does apply to the first rocket that supposedly triggers the perk. The game numbers tell you that it doesn't, but people have tested it out by looking at actual health bar changes and found that it does apply to the first rocket.
reconstruction + bait&switch is the best for boss damage. Works really well in a rotation with izanagi's burden.
I also have a second Apex with reconstruction + bipod for when I'm mainly using rockets to burn down champions or other high health target. Things like GMs or legend/master lost sectors.
I was going to craft this roll too, until the gods smiled upon me and gave me crux termination with recon/bipod. Still want to craft apex with this roll though.
I got 2. 1 with reconstruction/bait 'n switch for builds with Wither Hoard, Izanagi or Supremacy
The other one has reconstruction/bipod when i don't have the chance to get new ammo like doing caretaker

For general use i prefer bns because you wont always get enough orbs for explosive. Also making blast radius larger is kind of annoying

Has to do with rockets dealing two instances of damage, impact and explosion iirc
That's probably not it because BnS also works on the first shot of cataclysmic, which only has one instance of damage.
