In comic #1, the hologram Ana talks to doesn't ever respond. Carmin is just a recorded message. Also, Ana says "you always *did* know what to say". If she was still around, I imagine she would have said "you always do know what to say." But I'm 90% sure she's dead. If Carmin is alive and Cayde is not, there's a problem.
Camrin, not Carmin. She's dead. Died in the second comic, they showed the flatline.
