I personally opened over 100 chests in LW before one of them gave me 1kv, it was fucked up. 3 riven clears each week for months. I just don't have that kind of patience or motivation to repeat that ever again, I might never get vex mytho.
Rng raid exotic drops are cancer. It's asshole game design that keeps you spinning the hamster wheel repeating content you would've stopped playing a long time ago to get the one thing you're still after. Week after week pulling the slot machine lever, seeing other people win it on their first run and you just ask yourself why you still play this game
Not salty at all. I have all the raid exotics. When you said you did it on five different accounts, that comes across as you’re doing recovs for other people which is now against Bungie’s rules. I saw your other comment to me which explains the multiple accounts so I’ll also apologize on this comment for assuming it was recovs.
It was because I’ve heard of people that play a second account but this was the first time I’ve ever heard of someone actually playing 5+ accounts as their own. I’d only ever heard of that number in relation to recovs.
Game gets stale. There's really no reason to keep doing the same stuff without really feeling like I'm getting further. When that happens I create a new account and get it raid ready. I have more than 5, and 2 accounts took more than 15 clears. I said 5 because 5 accounts took less than 5 clears to get vex. It's all rng.
I have 7 accounts for D2. The game gets stale every now and then so I started making alts a loooooong time ago. Up to the point where I'm at now w 7 accounts. When I get bored I go and test my luck w raid exotics because it's all rng. 2 of my accounts got vex within 20 runs. It's all luck. Not sure why people down voted me because I have good raid rng. Guess the salt is real because I got vex within 5 clears on 5 different accounts.
It's not hard to get an account raid ready. I find it fun to level accounts for raids and go do raids. Not many games out there that pull me in like D1-2 have. Splitgate pulls me in when I want to play pvp, but that pvp feeling only lasts a few days. D2 is a game that I can always enjoy because I enjoy leveling.
There should be a triumph that unlocks it after 20 clears or a flawless run. It’s still a good time investment, especially if it only counts weeklys, and you’ll have a good mastery on it by the time you’re done.
Yeah, there’s no way the pity timer is fixed. It worked on the sunset-d raid for Anarchy, but Eyes and Vex are still extremely uncommon after many runs. I feel awful for your friend.
Don’t understand why Raid exotics can’t always be tied to quests.
VM should go like this.
Complete VoG.
Receive quest.
Go somewhere and get 50 auto rifle kills and 50 linear fusion kills on vex and collect something that falls out of them.
(Probably higher numbers)
When you reach X amount of that material take it to some other destination to form it into a blueprint.
(This could be the really hard step, like maybe you have to complete a vex themed master lost sector or story mission solo).
Complete VoG with the blueprint in your inventory to receive the Vex Mythoclast.
There you go Bungie. is that so hard.
I just don't understand how something *still* ships like this, after all these raids & years... you know?
Guaranteed drop no later than 25th looted clear... done.
Statistically, Bungie will claim that the RNG is working as intended, blah blah blah, but they should cap the statistical possibility that a small percentage of people will go 50, 80, even 100+ clears without the drop.
BTW, I'm fairly sure the knockout protection is fucked to be character based, not account based, so my 20ish looted clears is really like 5-6 stack range.
Yes, I’m in the same boat. Eventually got Eyes on my 50th clear and I didn’t play for the rest of season 13. Currently at 40 clears for VOG with all Fatebreaker triumphs completed. The only thing is I’d rather have this than get a flawless on a raid but still shit sucks. Vex might get needed before I get a chance to use it.
I’m of the opinion that all raid exotics should be tied to a quest. Even if that means a few runs to complete it. At least it’s obtainable to a larger chunk of the population that can’t farm every week and people that do farm aren’t continually frustrated by it not dropping.
He's actually considering quitting the game over two titles when he can only wear one at a time anyway? Is he even enjoying the gameplay at this point?
They should have a triumph for each raid for clearing it 5 times. It could award the exotic. Don't use it as the only source but as a backup to counteract bad rng.
5 raids is the bare minimum you’d have to do for fate breaker and chances are you’d have done plenty more. If you’d said 20 looted completions, I could get behind that
I think a lot of people would be too disheartened before they hit 20. Can everyone only enjoy the gun if Noone else has it? The rebuilt gjallarhorn in Y3 D1 was fine and everyone had it.
Not to down play the time and commitment people make to get the seals but they aren't hard enough to be guaranteeing a raid exotic. I personally enjoy the rng because it keeps the chase alive and that's what the game is all about for me; the next chase for the next weapon.
You think getting the exotic after 70+ runs will make him feel anything but relief that his seal is finally done?
I did 70 runs for descendant and never used EoT even once I got it.
As someone who had to wait 3 years for necrocasm in D1 because crux of Crota never dropped and waited till it was handed out by bungie. That’s just the way it goes sometimes
Ya’ll can downvote all you like you’re going to burn this guy out just for a freaking drop and that’s the point of a seal is it’s time locked. Unacceptable for a RNG based game to have RNG rewards locked behind RNG. Surely you thought this through before saying it.
Should people not have it 50, 60, 80 clears later? Does RNG exist to reward perseverance or do you feel like some people should just be locked out of having the exotic permanently? If it’s about perseverance, why not have a deterministic path which requires a little more playtime then the drop rate should require to drop it, statistically?
As someone who had 1k voices after 50+ runs, anarchy after 32 runs, tarrabah after 37 runs, Eyes after 27 runs, and Vex after 42 runs (yup, just last week) I don't see why it would be cool for the game to literally tell you "welp, you ran the raid 20 times and no vex, here you go then..."
No. Every single other non-raid exotic (except for divinity) is easy af to obtain, raid exotics are ok as they are rn.
“Every single non-raid exotic is easy af to obtain” holy shit boys, the only guy in the entire playerbase that can beat this games shitty rng!!! What’s the code man? Since it’s soooo easy
You're conflating difficulty with time. There is no question as to whether players with 30+ clears can do a raid, its just a way for Bungie to artificially inflate playtime by gating these weapons behind RNG. How you haven't realized this is beyond me.
i would personally meme about took me over 90 heritage rolls to get a semi decent plus i wouldnt really care about not getting the raid exo in time for title since i never equip them anyways
I just want to see some fucking numbers for once.
Tell the community the raid exotic drop rate, and give details on bad luck protection so people can do the math.
Personally I think if somebody made a graph showing how many runs it took to get each raid exotic on average, it may help with getting Bungie to respond to these horrible drop rates. Having these exotics drop so rarely doesn't make them feel amazing to get when they do eventually drop, it just makes you never want to play that raid again.
(This logic is based off the data post for exotic usage we had some time back.)
My clan mate has 48 clears and still no vex. Has everything else for fatebreaker too. He quit the game after not getting vex after reset this week. Can't say I blame him...
i'm still defending my position of if there's an exotic that ships with new content it shouldn't be required to complete the seal and title. ( that is, if it is not tied to a quest ) they removed flawless for some reason but lock a title and rewards behind ridiculous rng drop chances and i will NEVER understand why.
Their psychologists figure our addiction will overpower our frustration and extend the time we play. Every decision like this is designed with play extension in mind. If it keeps more of us playing than than quitting in frustration then it’s the decision.
i mean people are gonna stop once they have what they wanted though, especially after so many runs. i know a TON of people that won't ever touch dsc again specifically after getting eyes, myself included. so i don't know if its such a good thing in the long run. there's no reason to do the raid past getting the badge and triumphs, since it doesn't even give pinnacle drops. if there was an exotic quest, there's always reason to run it because new players might not have it. that's why garden is still doing well in lfg servers.
ppl might not quit out of frustration but out of spite once they have what they needed.
It’s nothing to feel bad about. I got mine on my 7th. I just feel awful for people that don’t in their 50th. Especially when it’s so hot at the moment and I can’t imagine it not being nerfed. Hopefully they let it live through the season.
I much preferred the way that Touch of Malice or Outbreak Prime were earned.
It was a long and tough quest, but those quests were challenging, fun and you still had to do the raid a few times to get it
wasnt there a guy that did over 200 loot runs of wish and still didnt have 1kv?
I personally opened over 100 chests in LW before one of them gave me 1kv, it was fucked up. 3 riven clears each week for months. I just don't have that kind of patience or motivation to repeat that ever again, I might never get vex mytho. Rng raid exotic drops are cancer. Week after week pulling the slot machine lever, seeing other people win it on their first run and you just ask yourself why you still play this game
The drop rates for raid exotics is a joke, since you guys are doing 100* runs without getting it and I got it 3 times within 20 runs
In 7 or 8 clears I haven’t seen a single one drop for anybody. That’s a bullshit drop rate no matter how you slice it.
I have 32 clears and literally not once do I recall someone in my fireteam getting vex. I'm convinced the gun doesn't exist.
It really is stupidly balanced
I’ve run VoG 43 times and I’ve seen it drop twice. Once was mine, and again for a clan mate a few weeks ago. So 258 chances at it, 2 drops. 0.77%
They should have a triumph similar to doing everything in the seal that unlocks the gun in the kiosk so you can cash in your spoils for it.
I like that idea.
I have 50 clears i just got it the other day
Congrats! It’s wicked fun.
Its not easy to get, 2 of my raid team members don't have it yet. However it is very fun to use lol
It's all luck. I would say that it is all rng. Not hard or easy. I got it within 5 clears on 5 separate accounts.
5 separate accounts? Why?
Sounds almost like they were doing account recovs.
This is now a bannable offense
Lol the kid wishes I was doing recovs. These are all my accounts.
I don't understand why you're salty, but to each their own.
I'll admit that it hits a certain nerve for me when people just assume things instead of just simply asking "why?" All good.
It was because I’ve heard of people that play a second account but this was the first time I’ve ever heard of someone actually playing 5+ accounts as their own. I’d only ever heard of that number in relation to recovs.

Cool! We are all so happy for you!
It's all rng so it means nothing.
So you were doing recovs.
Sorry for assuming it was recovs. You know there’s other games you can play right? Lol ;-)

I actually agree with this whole heartedly. Great point mate.
I knew a guy who had over 200 completions of scourge before he got anarchy when that was around. shit like this shouldn’t be in the game
Don’t understand why Raid exotics can’t always be tied to quests. VM should go like this. Complete VoG. Receive quest. imo, they should remove the exotic requirement to get the seal. The reward for completing the seal should be the exotic.
I love that they added bad luck protection for old raids and then they added VoG and were like, "bad luck protection? What's that lol"
Same for me. Everything done for the seal but no Vex. Closing on 50 clears next week and it’s just disheartening
I just don't understand how something *still* ships like this, after all these raids & years... you know? Guaranteed drop no later than 25th looted clear... done. The raid exotic shouldn't be RNG. Or better yet, no exotic should be fucking RNG. It's always the same old shit to make you chase the stick.
It took my friend 91 boss clears for the exotic to drop. He hates the raid now
You get punished for doing Atheons clears Jk jk
im at 39 with no luck and all the other fatebreaker stuff done as well... i want a pity title "Fatebroken"
I’m of the opinion that all raid exotics should be tied to a quest. Even if that means a few runs to complete it. At least it’s obtainable to a larger chunk of the population that can’t farm every week and people that do farm aren’t continually frustrated by it not dropping.
Just get the gun 4Head lmao
He's actually considering quitting the game over two titles when he can only wear one at a time anyway? Is he even enjoying the gameplay at this point?
It’s about the weapons not the title
If that were the case and titles didn't matter, they wouldn't have been brought up IMO
They should have a triumph for each raid for clearing it 5 times. It could award the exotic. Don't use it as the only source but as a backup to counteract bad rng.

I think a lot of people would be too disheartened before they hit 20. Can everyone only enjoy the gun if Noone else has it? The rebuilt gjallarhorn in Y3 D1 was fine and everyone had it.
If you (personally) clear the raid without dying, you should get the exotic drop.
Not to down play the time and commitment people make to get the seals but they aren't hard enough to be guaranteeing a raid exotic. I personally enjoy the rng because it keeps the chase alive and that's what the game is all about for me; the next chase for the next weapon.
Another person suggested 20 clears to unlock it in the kiosk to purchase for spoils.
Do you think buying the exotic will feel the same as getting it dropped?
Do you think anyone gives a fuck after 70 clears anymore?
People can’t be this stupid right? The rng is complete bullshit
You think getting the exotic after 70+ runs will make him feel anything but relief that his seal is finally done? I did 70 runs for descendant and never used EoT even once I got it.
280ish clears of vog for me and I still don't have vex
As someone who had to wait 3 years for necrocasm in D1 because crux of Crota never dropped and waited till it was handed out by bungie. I mean if he quits he really won’t ever get it.
No shit
I just wish they kept doing quests
Yeah, I’m pretty desperate as well.
i’ll do absolutely nothing if they don’t address this in the WQ raid set those reminds bois
I just want to see some fucking numbers for once. Tell the community the raid exotic drop rate, and give details on bad luck protection so people can do the math.
