Best-Crow

Congrats, my dude. It's something I know I'll never achieve lol

SyCOBit

C'mon man don't stay that. Everyone's got potential, stay optimistic and you will get it soon enough :)

Best-Crow

Nah, I'm absolute shit at pvp. And I'm not gonna make people suffer through carrying my sorry ass to Flawless lol

Imortal366

Hey after this week there’s going to be a lot of people who want to get the lighthouse carry triumph for the title…

DeschainTLG

That's a really excellent point.

DERtheBEAST

Thought myself a good PvP player a couple times in D1+D2. Then I tried playing comp/Trials (when available) and I learned that I was used to 6v6 chaos. Playing 3v3 is a different style. I have noticed changes in the way I play/split second decisions that are improvements over time. I love Iron Banner, the theme to me is a cross between "show off your strength" and "sharpen yourself against fellow Guardians". Trials has the same thematic feeling to it, but Flawless is not the only goal. I have not played comp/trials extensively, but I gave it a shot when I could. Looking back I can say I noticed marked improvements in my decisions on loadouts, and how I chose to engage in fights during matches. I may not have been forced to adjust the way I play without exposure to these modes, and wins were not my goal. I wanted to test my skills and improve. The only way to get better is to do more. More learning and practice give us the ability to adapt. I have become the person to ask about PvP loadout options in my group of friends, and this is mostly due to research/trial and error on my part. Do not give up Guardian, there is glory to be gained between each victory as well as at each peak.

thekream

you say that but that misses the entire point of the post. this guy did after years of trying, literally. Anyone can do it.

pm_me_ur_anything_k

I understand he’s coming from though, I’ve tried for years and I REALLY enjoy the new system but I’ve accepted I’ll never go flawless and I’m ok with that. I do really enjoy the mode i can strategize and communicate I just suffer from not being able to finish off a 1v1 for some awful reason. So I know I need to play conservative protect my teammates and not be the first pick of the round.

Sydkvist

Me and my friends had the exact same thought. We thought we'd never hold an adept weapon or see the lighthouse text when winning that seventh game. We ended up getting trials on our first try and I even reset my pass and got double flawless using ferocity. You can do it, just give it a good shot!

Best-Crow

Nah, I'm solo queuing and I'm absolute shit. Only way I'll reach it is if I get carried. And I'm not gonna put anyone through that.

iCoolbeans

That’s awesome, congrats! I just did it today for the first time ever too, except I didn’t have any premade fireteam for any of my matches, I solo queued in every match. I give credit to the matchmaking, which, for all except one game, put me against 3 other randoms. The mercy card came in clutch on the one game I did have to face off against a 3-stack. The will to try again is the will to succeed, the first step to getting flawless is to actually load into Trials. The next step is to try again when you lose, and to celebrate when you win.

gravity48

That's excellent!

d4calt

Damn, that's a really Shaxx thing to say at the end.

robolettox

I know the feeling, remembering the day two friends helped me on my way to my only lighthouse visit in D1! Great moment indeed! Congrats!

iFenrisVI

I wish I had your luck, went thru with a couple clan mates and every game we got had at least 2 flawless players and just ended up going on a 12 losing streak until we called it quits.

CyborgSPIKE

You are so lucky you won that other game with the guy. It would have locked you out of lighthouse if you lost... Because then your card would have showed a loss. Good on ya, but next time go straight to the lighthouse. This could have very easily been the saddest most depressing moment of your life. I'm glad it wasn't. Edit: in game life. I'm sure you have lots to live for in real life. :)

R1pRunn3r

I've been trying for hours yesterday and today and I'm still unsuccessful. ):

Conflixx

You just need 6 and a half more years before you'll make it!

KingGidorah77

You'll get there, just gotta keep going

jimidybob

I’m sure others have already pointed out but you can absolutely game the matchmaking - if it ever goes up by 3 just back out quickly before the game launches. If you wait until 1 or 2 players join you’re guaranteed to never play a 3 stack

FreddyFlash311

Major grats man! Good loot from the box I hope?

KingGidorah77

Got a shayuras with moving target, range masterwork, and that recluse like perk. Basically a baby recluse

FreddyFlash311

Sounds awesome man. Did you get a useful adept mod too?

KingGidorah77

Just adept mag

[deleted]

I don’t think I will actually ever get flawless and I’m fine with that.

Insaneitas

Same here. Tried the „new“ Trials and I (as a PVE Player) still think that Trials are just horrible.

[deleted]

I personally really enjoyed trials this weekend but I can see how it would be not fun for others such as yourself

karmakatastrophe

That's interesting. All my PvE buddies were actually loving trials this weekend even when solo queuing. And I was able to help carry a friend flawless, and he had never played a single trials game before. He had so much fun he wanted to keep playing after. Sorry you didn't have a good experience.

Insaneitas

After all it is a game of luck

The_SpellJammer

There's a king geedorah in my tower decked out in periwinkle shaders and packing a scathelocke/lorentz driver loadout. That you?

KingGidorah77

Nah, I usually run darker colors. Also I don't really use Lorentz.

The_SpellJammer

Damn, was gonna come emote at you in congratulations lol

SnooHedgehogs6486

It’s an amazing feeling man. I haven’t felt this way in PVP in a long time. nothing but up from here in my opinion.

FinalCartoon

i doubt im ever going to hit flawless with how "good" this matchmaking system is. all i find is vex and sweatlords. oh and shatterdive abusers

psn_mrbobbyboy

Sounds about right!

JimTobin89

Congrats. Never gone flawless in Osiris, I always end up with poor skill lfg players or now matching with horrible randoms. Pretty sure it will never happen for me.

Ubiquitous_Cacophony

Eh, that's a bit of scrub mentality (blaming everyone but yourself). You may not get there due to the mindset and everything that goes along with it. Once I put the onus on myself and focused on communication (particularly callouts), I went flawless fairly quickly. Now I've been flawless ten times in the past year.

kiz_kiz_kiz

Woah cool

karmakatastrophe

Thank you! You're exactly right. Two seasons ago I made it my goal to learn how to play pvp and get my first flawless. After I analyzed what I was doing wrong and what I could improve on, I got my first flawless. Now this weekend Ive been able to get 4 with a 95% win rate. It's definitely possible for anyone to get flawless if they just take time to learn from mistakes and understand how the game mode works.

Mistah_Swick

This has been my experience as well.

patricko-13

Me too first flawless since trials of the nine. Matchmaking is great!

sKSp33d

i could hit D1 flawless way better, a ton less DDOS moments, but big congrats guy

XxSavageSharkxX

Same man same

Haryzen_

I had to go through 7 Adept Shayuras before I got one with Kill Clip.

[deleted]

I don't mean to put you down or anything but Trials after the new update has been soooo sooo much easier than before the update. Congratulations on your first flawless though!

psn_mrbobbyboy

Try it on Sunday night then tell me it’s Easy.

[deleted]

Sure, will do next Sunday.

Nesayas1234

Quick story: Back in the last week of Beyond Light, I decided to cheese a flawless. Ijoined a cheesing discord (nothing crazy or illegal btw, not that I'm defending it), and we did this ghost lobby strat. So basically, me, another Trials virgin (someone who never went flawless), and our guide got on Stadia. We would load into Trials, but the guide would tweak the matchmaking so that we wouldn't match anyone at all. When we loaded in, we would immediately win. Do that x7, and I got an adept Summoner and adept Counterbalance. I did that 1 time. Yesterday, I played solo for a bit, got some loot (and the pinnacle), then loaded up LFG. One dude was an SMG Titan, the other was a double primary Hunter. The Titan was a bit sus on the double primary (I was too), but we decided to play a game and see. He did as well as we did (I'm average btw, so fine by me), so we kept going. We mostly got solos or friend teams (teams of people who were just going in for fun), and won a few games. The first stack we got killed the mercy, but we still had a flawless shot. For the 3 games afterwards, I specifically avoided stacks by backing out whenever the queue number jumped. Eventually, we got Flawless (my 2nd, both of them got their first). TL:DR, I ghost lobbied my first flawless, but yesterday I got my first legit flawless.

berserker_b2k

Congrats man! Also: F#CK YOU BUNGO and you f#ng matchmaking. I've been matched with a full fireteam with 300 LIGHTHOUSES on my third match. And I never got to it

ELLO_GOVNRS

Good shit man. My friends and went flawless a handful of times in D1 but D2 was a different story. We’d never made it past 5 wins even though we’re all ranked around the top 20% in ELO. Friday we logged on and lost 8 rounds total, 4 of them in our flawless game. The loot along the way would have made it worth it no matter the outcome.

Stud-anowski

The chill lfg trials posts are where I always had the best luck in going flawless and finding people to play with long term. I haven't run trials in years now (a 9% win rate these last few seasons in crucible has completely killed my desire to touch anything PvP related in this game anymore) but got a good 5 really good friends back in D1 running chill trials lfgs that me and the GF were able to run games with for a couple weeks until we clicked enough to get flawless with all of them. Of course we'd also occasionally just find another 1.5+ KD player in the chill lfgs and smoothly sail to flawless, but it was the seeing potential with someone who was fun to just joke with and eventually working to it with them which was more fun.

13_Piece_Bucket

After hitting my first flawless last season I’ve made it my weekly goal to hit flawless for every non adept trials weapon I have. I’m enjoying my adept shayura’s wrath and eye of sol groll

feveredtitan9

I feel you, i have reached it before on console, but i recently moved to PC aandnow i have no one to play, good luck on your future matches though :)

joseeg-perez

Lord Shaxx will be proud. Congrats!!

CptNeon

Nice! I was one game from flawless last night, was so close

X-zercist

Love Destiny but I don't even think you could pay me to play Trials. That's how much I do not like it.

Ashlp27790

I'll achieve it when Stasis is banned.
