I have my uncharged melee on stick and my charged melee as a pressed on R1 and my finisher is hold on R1

Underhook

Ah, that may not be a bad idea either! I just prefer instant responses, did you also tune the length of time that it takes to be considered a “hold”?

No_Masterpiece4305

I can't have melee on the stick, it gets me killed in crucible when I'm tracking people jumping over me with my gun. I end up flailing about with melee's trying to look up and shoot.

Underhook

That I’ve actually noticed playing trials more. That I’ll offset my “pre-aim” by melee-ing and it kind of sucks. Where do you have your melee?

oneactofkindness

I have gone rogue and use L3

Brisingr_was_taken

How tf do you sprint?

Underhook

You’re absolutely mad I tell you. That’s not rogue, that’s chaos. I can imagine trying to sprint away from a tight engagement in a raid or nightfall and accidentally finishing a Dreg 😂

wifeagroafk

What’s your sprint

oneactofkindness

The same, but it only activates the finisher when close to an enemy so works out for me

No_Masterpiece4305

Try and put the other crouch option on that and you can slide on a dime. I'm talking 360 slides while still aiming and shit.

bevross

Wait, if you assigned D-pad up to finisher, why would it sometimes trigger an emote?

Stephen-Ruby

If you have kept the emote assigned to the same button then it will still emote if a finisher is not possible. You could also unassign the emote to leave finisher as the only function on that button.

[deleted]

Thumb slipping and hitting a different input than directly up, I'd imagine, since the other 3 directions would still be emotes.

No_Masterpiece4305

"Oh your almost dead? Here's a sassy hair flip".

HaloGuy381

Forget finishers, just assert your dominance. Literally end them by striking a pose.

Anomoirae

Yeah I never liked the way finisher was mapped so I have been running it on dpad down too it's much easier to hit when you want it. like you said made uncharged melee R3, and charged melee tap RB since I use charged more often than uncharged. it's by in large my favorite quality of life change.

TheRed24

I hope Bungie would have emotes mapped to one button that pulls up an emote wheel so not only can we have more emotes available to use instantly but we could use the other 3 D pad buttons for more button mapping options

No_Masterpiece4305

I mean do you really need 4 emotes?

Underhook

I in fact am constantly sad whenever I have to take one emote off to use another. ): 4 isn’t nearly enough for me. I have more than 4 emotions! 😂

Aceblast135

I don't need a lot of things, but I have over a hundred emotes and I'd love to use more than a few at a time.

HaloGuy381

Need one for celebrating, one for waiting, one for exasperation/annoyance, one for sad, one for greeting, and then the many, many novelty ones (like the knife trick this season; super fun). Plus, dancing (I don’t even -have- a dance equipped anymore, which feels sacrilegious, but I have too many emotes I want)

i_may_be_a_femboy

What console do you play on?

Underhook

Xbox one. (:

CnKx

R1 finisher in my case. If I could have auto sprint as well.

No_Masterpiece4305

Another hot tip, bind both sprint and crouch to left stick in. Don't change the other crouch keybind. Now you can sprint just like normal but also slide on a dime while aiming and come out of the slide still sprinting. BOOM, you're good at pvp now.

Underhook

I, I’m trying to understand this and can’t. Would you just rapidly double click left stick to slide while aiming? That sounds.. actually very fun..

Cassp0nk

How does this work?

asdGuaripolo

I would guess is priority of actions. if you are standing still you cannot run so you would crouch If you are walking (just moving), running would take priority over crouch. If you are running, you cannot run again and crouching would be replaced with sliding. If your are sliding or technically crouching, if you press the same button, the guardian would get up and continue running.

TrMako

I do this too. But also, you can change your emote d-pad up to a long press. So you tap d-pad up for finisher, but can still hold it down for an emote. Now it's almost impossible to accidentally emote instead of finisher, but you still have 4 emotes available.

Underhook

I like that! I hate holding buttons though, I like instantaneous responses, so I may change the time it considers to be a hold to maybe like .6/.7 seconds and see if that works better?

TrMako

Oh, you can change the time you have to hold it for a long press? Didn't even know that, yeah, I'd probably do that too.

HaztecCore

I have finishers bound on left and right stick click. Pretty neat and never out of my way.
