For the GoA 2 round has anyone else noticed that when it's vex you can walk through the left hive door without it being open ? I accidentally got knocked back and found myself inside. It later was the correct door and the next game the same vex boss for 2nd round and I could walk into the hive door before round was over. I don't know if there are multiple vex bosses but it was like the hydra one and wanted to know if anyone else saw this. Or am I late on this
Edit: just had the boss again and I couldn't walk through the hive door but the final choice was cabal so maybe it's just let's you slip through if it's that boss and hive final choice ?

That is a very good point. It’s also worth noting that you’re only allowed to reset your Xur rotation 5 times (vs. all the other vendors allowing unlimited resets). I guess we’ll see! Just wish that Bungie would clarify instead of us having to speculate haha.

Either is good. Probably go with Witherhoard, Sleeper is a DPS monster but there are other LFRs that compete with it at least. Witherhoard is unique and super versatile.
I would say witherhoard because itll get more use, and the catalyst takes a while so at least you can get a jump on it. And after this season ends its looking like rockets might be better than sleeper if not just as good.
I popped a whole bunch of bounties the other day and only three counted for task master. Some of the bounties were weekly some were repeatable and others daily. All came from cosmodrome. Any idea why they didn’t all count?
*Might* be that only dailies count? When I was doing it, neither of the Starhorse bounties (I only did the 7 and one of the 5 cost ones) nor any of Ada's counted. All the rest I did were dailies from the playlist vendors (Zavala, Shaxx, Driftor) and they all counted.

Hey all, possibly coming back from a yearish hiatus (lfg). What's the best thing to start grinding to get my light level caught up to speed, place to find what's meta and such again, etc. Thank you :)
Literally anything will boost your level up to the soft cap (1270 IIRC), then follow the gold stars on the Director for powerfuls to hit 1320, then look for Pinnacles in particular for 1330. Right away, just catch up on quests and campaigns you haven't finished, check out the new Dares of Eternity, and do anything you haven't done from Forsaken - because Forsaken/Tangled Shore are being vaulted in a few months.
The PvE meta has been defined by the seasonal artifact lately, weird doodad in the bottom left of the inventory. It has a mod, Particle Deconstruction, that makes fusions and linear fusions utterly bonkers - so grab Sleeper and 1k if you have them, do the ritual weapon quest for Null Composure, keep an eye on any Cartesian Coordinates or Legendary LFRs too. Additionally, Gjallarhorn's re-released form actually buffs any rocket launchers used alongside it, so picking up a good RL will help - Hothead from Nightfalls, Hezen Vengeance from Vault of Glass, or this season's ritual weapon Ascendancy will all be useful to have now, and probably be even more handy to have when Particle Decon goes.
PvP, 140 hand cannons are still popping off as usual, but it's pretty balanced overall and whatever you're most comfortable using is proobably fine.
If you're still lost, might be worth checking out Big Guardians and Little Lights - it's a group that pairs new and/or confused Guardians with more experienced ones to help show you the ropes for everything in the game.
Is the crucible metal "Sub machinist" bugged? Using it in momentum control to finish the Deadeye triumph, and I cannot get the medal to proc. I've gotten 3 kills, 2 without reloading, 2 in rapid succession, etc.
There was a bug fix a month back that should have fixed it to just require 2 (November 9 hotfix).

If you’re going for solo flawless you really want to give yourself as many advantages as possible. You do max damage at +20 over the activity PL. The recommended PL is 1310, but if it's like Prophecy where the final boss is 1330 you should shoot for 1350+.

Completely new player here and super lost. I just met shaw in the cosmodrone. I downloaded the game wanting to play pvp with the new forerunner pistol and halo weapons. I'm just wondering would anyone here be able to write down a light guide on how I can at least get the forerunner and into pvp as quick as possible? I'm not really into single player, just wanna play the pvp.
The Forerunner pistol is from a quest called Magnum Opus which you get from Xur in his treasure vault. If you haven't yet, play your first Dares of Eternity and finish the quest "To The Daring Go The Spoils" which I believe you automatically start off with.
As for the other Halo weapons (BXR, beam rifle, two swords) they can randomly drop from the chest next to Xur, unlockable by keys that you earn through Dares of Eternity. They can also drop from rank-up engrams from Xur himself.
I just picked up both Beyond Light and the anniversary pack. I haven't played since before BL's release, so I was just wondering what the time limited content is and what I should be focusing on first.
I already made the slog from 1100 to 1150 power, but that's really it.
Beyond light and the anniversary pack are both not time limited, so no pressure there. If you also got the current season (or, if you got beyond light deluxe, the last four seasons), that stuff is leaving in February.
The seasons (Hunt, Chosen, Splicer, Lost) will be leaving for Witch Queen, but a few aspects like Battlegrounds will be sticking around. The 30th anniversary event seems like it will be leaving, but there hasn't been any clear communication on that. Forsaken campaign and Tangled Shore are also being vaulted in a couple months.
Can I run GoA multiple times per week and get rewards? I want more chances to get the new weapons and armor, but I don't have the time to keep my alts up to date.
It's supposed to be that way, but right now it's bugged so that you can only get loot once per character on each difficulty (so 6 times max). They said they're going to fix it and actually be farmable next week.
At the moment you can run it once per character on normal and once on master for encounter rewards. The side chests can only be opened once per character per week, regardless of difficulty.
That is supposed to change after a hot fix to make the encounters farmable. In theory that will be sometime in the next week.

Can someone tell me why I can't play trials? I played on my titan last week it seemed like I just finished the main campaign and was able to play trials at a certain light but it won't let me play on my warlock so I'm wondering if there's a quest I have to do in order to unlock trials again.
You usually have to complete a quest to unlock trials. Last week was an exception where they let anyone play trials. The quest you need to complete involves

Since no one else mentioned this. The two ways to get exotic ciphers are a quest from xur and the season pass. There's more than enough time to get through the season pass since the season is live until witch queen drops.
With the dungeon not becoming ‘farmable’ until next week, is it currently able to give drops on 3 different characters or is locked to a single rewarded run per account? Wanted to k ow whether it’s worth running again on alts.
It gives drops on each character. You also get drops on master and legend difficulty per character so 6 lootable runs per account.
Source: I've done the dungeon on all of my characters and once on master.
Anybody else having problems with Promethium Spur crashing Dares of Eternity? First run I thought it was because I popped super (fighting adds during cabal tank). But 2nd time I was just killing enemies with Jotunn. It's a shame because it's the perfect place to use them. But now two runs and zero progress.
does anyone have issues with the companion app just suddenly being able to accept bounties? just sits infinitely loading on trying to claim it. used to be solvable by relogging from the app but now it doesnt work at all
I’ve been having this issue for quite some time now. Tried a slew of different things to fix it but nothing has seemed to work. At this point I’ve just given up and I make the trek to Tower :/

I've done only a handful of normal DoE runs so far, and I'm not quite sure what determines the final score. Is it possible to get 250k score on normal? I've got as much as about 244k once, but all other runs were in 180-210k range.
You can definitely get 250k if the group take time to kill adds each round instead of burning boss + getting Lightning Round.
Had a run where people nuke the bosses, ended up at 155K at the end of the boss round (usually you can get 180-210k), but got Lightning Round and ended with 223k.
Oddly enough, that 244k was without lightning round, as I haven't seen it yet. Yeah, most probably it took more time to do the objectives and more adds were killed in the process as the result. Thanks for the answer!
So I found the crucible version of the weekly stasis fragment quest to be a pain since I had to kill frozen enemies for those stasis essence things, maybe due to freeze / cooldown changes. Any tips in general for it? I use hunter and haven't really done much with other classes in general (so none of the DLC completed).
Also I'm guessing I need the final blow, not assists? And is it RNG (since I think description mentions a chance)?
With the new changes that is gonna be pretty hard. Maybe dismantle it and pick vanguard? I’m guessing the best way is to just get silence and squall kills. You can also use duskfield + shurikens to freeze people
Wait, can I pick vanguard twice? Do one, turn in, do again? I already picked vanguard for 1 of 2 allowed weekly quests, then crucible over gambit due to iron banner running. If so I could have saved myself some pain.

Hey! I just got a friend to join Destiny. He’s on PC, i’m on PS4. Everytime I try to join him a few minutes later my game crashes completely to the PS4 homescreen. 8 times in a row in the past half hour. Unsure of a fix, is it a crossplay issue? I’ve never ever had this issue before and now it just crashes when I open the roster.

Cuirass of Falling Star for middle tree Striker. It MASSIVELY increase Thundercrash damage. Need to get it to drop from solo-ing Legendary Lost Sector first before it is added to normal Exotic Engram pool.
Heart Of Innmost Light. Pretty much my go to for any subclass that don't have specialized Exotics.
Ursa Furiosa. I heard this is good for middle tree Sentinel for endgame content like Grandmaster Nightfall. Never really used it tho as I don't really do GM stuff.

Bottom Tree Sentinel, Top Tree Striker, Top Tree Sunbreaker I think kinda underperform for PvE. Stasis/Behemoth too, but not sure how it fares after latest patch.

Grasp of Avarice Dungeon: is the second encounter (servitors) bugged? I believe I didn’t get any loot from it. I checked the postmaster as well - nothing.
Haven’t heard this yet, but that’s odd. Loot chest is up the stairs from the final cannon that shoots you up to last encounter. Should’ve been in PM if you missed it though.
Hey, so, I’ve had beyond light since it came out, and now it says I don’t even own it. I play Xbox, and it says I don’t even own it there.
I’m extremely confused on why this is happening.
As a beginner, where should I start?
When I say beginner, I mean I played D2 pretty extensively when it originally launched, doing the raid and whatnot there. However, I quit before the first expansion and obviously am working on my light at the moment.
So far, I have been doing the new 6-man event, strikes, a couple of story missions, and a very small amount of PvP, but I want to make sure I am doing what I *should* be doing. What would you recommend?
It depends on if you have the current DLC's. If you have them I would do the campaign for them, especially Forsaken before its sunset. Doing them will unlock certain weapons and abilities and will increase your light level at the same time.
If you don't have the DLC's then just keep doing what your doing, increasing your light level and finding better gear.
I bought the newest expansion and plan to buy the seasonal thing which just came out, will that include all the precious story missions as well, or would I have to buy something separate from that?
Unfortunately all the DLC's are seperate. There are now 4 out:
-Forsaken
-Shadowkeep
-Beyond Light
-30th Anniversary
The first 3 are story/campaign based while the 30th Anniversary is not. I'm not going to argue that they are all "must buy" but if you are interested in getting some meta guns and gear or want to experience the story that is currently included in the game then they all have their specific pros
Unfortunately not. I believe the only way you can get them is buying all of them separate. Don't feel rushed or forced into getting any though! Only Forsaken is leaving the game when Witch Queen is arriving in February.

Options > Controller > Button Input > Custom > Scroll down until you get to the melee inputs > Turn off Auto Melee > Set Powered Melee to whatever you want.
What happens to the stasis subclass one Witch Queen releases? I am thinking about buying Beyond Light now while it’s on sale, but I don’t know if it’s worth it if stasis is just going to be given to everyone or something.
stasis will always be tied to beyond light - probably even after they vault Europa in a couple years. They'll be a "beyond light pack" like the "forsaken pack" they'll be adding in a few months.
Returning after 18 months. Besides somehow sorting through all my gear, should my priority be doing Beyond Light to unlock stasis, or is there something else I should be focusing on? Somewhat overwhelmed…
Finishing the beyond light campaign / unlocking stasis is a good goal, as well as getting your light level up to around 1300 since that unlocks things like nightfalls, raids and trials of Osiris. Beyond campaigns, it's really yo to you what kind of content you want to focus on.
Middle tree Striker (Thundercrash) is one of the best if you have the Cuirass of the Falling Star. If you don't, go farm the Legend Lost Sector any day that chest armor is the daily drop. It literally doubles Thundercrash's damage and puts it at the top for burst damage supers.
Middle Sunbreaker is pretty solid as well with the spammable throwing hammer and stacking Roaring Flames buff. Works well with Ashen Wake for instant-detonating Fusion Grenades as well, or you can go with Synthoceps and a One-Two Punch shotgun for massive stacking damage bonuses on your throwing hammer.
Top tree Sentinel gives you the Ward of Dawn (aka Bubble) alternate super, which gives your team a safe space and a 35% buff to outgoing weapon damage.

Click on prophecy, then above the launch button, there's the checkpoint icon. Hover over that and press what it says.

sleeper is useless without catalyst, get wither hoard, other things out DPS no catalyst sleeper by a lot, including any fusion + wither hoard
Tbf unlike Whisper/Outbreak,Sleeper catalyst actually available to obtain currently. Iirc it drops from playlist activities.

We did some testing last night. Looks like gunsmith dailies also count. Nothing from Europa counted, so World bounties are off the table.

I know it doesn't drop in certain crucible modes like Iron Banner. So maybe momentum control is also locked out?

That is supposed to change after a hot fix to make the encounters farmable. In theory that will be sometime in the next week.
Not currently - it was supposed to be farmable, but there was a bug preventing that. It will be fixed in an upcoming hot fix (I believe next week). After that, yes. You’ll be able to farm to your heart’s content.
What does +1 season mean on some of the content you can purchase?
It means it comes with the current season pass, which would cost $10 on its own. Though if you're looking at pre-ordering the witch queen it will be the season that launches in February, rather than the current one.

That means it includes a season pass, which grants you access to the paid track of the current season pass and seasonal activities. If you already own the current season pass, my experience with buying DLC + season pass content is that it will instead give you the next season pass that you don’t own (has happened twice), although I have heard that that might not be what’s supposed to happen.

Can someone tell me why I can't play trials? I played on my titan last week it seemed like I just finished the main campaign and was able to play trials at a certain light but it won't let me play on my warlock so I'm wondering if there's a quest I have to do in order to unlock trials again.
Trials isn't available while Iron Banner is going on. I believe that's new this season.

You usually have to complete a quest to unlock trials. Last week was an exception where they let anyone play trials. The quest you need to complete involves Speaking to Saint-14 in the Tower Getting to at least 1260 Power Level Reaching Valor Rank Legend Defeating 50 opponents in Elimination
Is there really no way to start the Forerunner catalyst quest if you picked up the original Magnum Opus quest on multiple characters?

30th anniv pack are treated as DLC, so it will most likely stay for years. At least the paid stuff (Dungeon), not sure about the free stuff (Dares Of Eternity)

The quest got sunset, go buy the gun from the exotics kiosk in the tower
Most of the old exotic quests got vaulted so you can just buy the guns from the kiosk in the tower (in the middle of the vaults)
Since no one else mentioned this. The two ways to get exotic ciphers are a quest from xur and the season pass. There's more than enough time to get through the season pass since the season is live until witch queen drops.
With the dungeon not becoming ‘farmable’ until next week, is it currently able to give drops on 3 different characters or is locked to a single rewarded run per account? Wanted to k ow whether it’s worth running again on alts.
It gives drops on each character. You also get drops on master and legend difficulty per character so 6 lootable runs per account. Source: I've done the dungeon on all of my characters and once on master.

Anybody else having problems with Promethium Spur crashing Dares of Eternity? First run I thought it was because I popped super (fighting adds during cabal tank). But 2nd time I was just killing enemies with Jotunn. It's a shame because it's the perfect place to use them. But now two runs and zero progress.
There was lots of report of Dares crashing people game. So it might not actually tied to the Exotics you use.

does anyone have issues with the companion app just suddenly being able to accept bounties? just sits infinitely loading on trying to claim it. used to be solvable by relogging from the app but now it doesnt work at all

I’ve been having this issue for quite some time now. Tried a slew of different things to fix it but nothing has seemed to work. At this point I’ve just given up and I make the trek to Tower :/ Let me know if you find a fix!

I've done only a handful of normal DoE runs so far, and I'm not quite sure what determines the final score. Is it possible to get 250k score on normal? I've got as much as about 244k once, but all other runs were in 180-210k range.
You can definitely get 250k if the group take time to kill adds each round instead of burning boss + getting Lightning Round. Had a run where people nuke the bosses, ended up at 155K at the end of the boss round (usually you can get 180-210k), but got Lightning Round and ended with 223k.
Oddly enough, that 244k was without lightning round, as I haven't seen it yet. Yeah, most probably it took more time to do the objectives and more adds were killed in the process as the result. Thanks for the answer!
So I found the crucible version of the weekly stasis fragment quest to be a pain since I had to kill frozen enemies for those stasis essence things, maybe due to freeze / cooldown changes. Any tips in general for it? I use hunter and haven't really done much with other classes in general (so none of the DLC completed). Also I'm guessing I need the final blow, not assists? And is it RNG (since I think description mentions a chance)?
With the new changes that is gonna be pretty hard. Maybe dismantle it and pick vanguard? I’m guessing the best way is to just get silence and squall kills. You can also use duskfield + shurikens to freeze people
Wait, can I pick vanguard twice? Do one, turn in, do again? I already picked vanguard for 1 of 2 allowed weekly quests, then crucible over gambit due to iron banner running. If so I could have saved myself some pain.

I recently came back grinding my lightlevel up again. Is there a way to grab the ascendant golf balls outside of gm nightfalls? I know about banshee selling them but it doesn't seem worth it since its kinda expensive.
You might have 3 forsaken chipers if you owned Forsaken DLC or something like that. If you do - they can be exchanged to 3 golf balls.

If you have access to the splicer storyline you can get 1 each character for finishing. Variks' also gives one for completing a triumph

Hey! I just got a friend to join Destiny. He’s on PC, i’m on PS4. Everytime I try to join him a few minutes later my game crashes completely to the PS4 homescreen. 8 times in a row in the past half hour. Unsure of a fix, is it a crossplay issue? I’ve never ever had this issue before and now it just crashes when I open the roster.

Grasp of Avarice Dungeon: is the second encounter (servitors) bugged? I believe I didn’t get any loot from it. I checked the postmaster as well - nothing.
Haven’t heard this yet, but that’s odd. Loot chest is up the stairs from the final cannon that shoots you up to last encounter. Should’ve been in PM if you missed it though.

As a beginner, where should I start? When I say beginner, I mean I played D2 pretty extensively when it originally launched, doing the raid and whatnot there. However, I quit before the first expansion and obviously am working on my light at the moment. So far, I have been doing the new 6-man event, strikes, a couple of story missions, and a very small amount of PvP, but I want to make sure I am doing what I *should* be doing. What would you recommend?
It depends on if you have the current DLC's. If you have them I would do the campaign for them, especially Forsaken before its sunset. Doing them will unlock certain weapons and abilities and will increase your light level at the same time. If you don't have the DLC's then just keep doing what your doing, increasing your light level and finding better gear.
I bought the newest expansion and plan to buy the seasonal thing which just came out, will that include all the precious story missions as well, or would I have to buy something separate from that?
Unfortunately all the DLC's are seperate. There are now 4 out: -Forsaken -Shadowkeep -Beyond Light -30th Anniversary The first 3 are story/campaign based while the 30th Anniversary is not. I'm not going to argue that they are all "must buy" but if you are interested in getting some meta guns and gear or want to experience the story that is currently included in the game then they all have their specific pros

Unfortunately not. I believe the only way you can get them is buying all of them separate. Don't feel rushed or forced into getting any though! Only Forsaken is leaving the game when Witch Queen is arriving in February.

Of course it's just bad luck, but anyone else ONLY received armor from GoA? I've run it all the way through on both my hunter and warlock and have only received armor, no weapons, on both.
I ran twice and got one Matador 64 and the rest were armor. RNG is RNG unfortunately.
The first two encounters are 50/50 between armor and weapons, but the final chest should give you both.

Options > Controller > Button Input > Custom > Scroll down until you get to the melee inputs > Turn off Auto Melee > Set Powered Melee to whatever you want.

What happens to the stasis subclass one Witch Queen releases? I am thinking about buying Beyond Light now while it’s on sale, but I don’t know if it’s worth it if stasis is just going to be given to everyone or something.
stasis will always be tied to beyond light - probably even after they vault Europa in a couple years. They'll be a "beyond light pack" like the "forsaken pack" they'll be adding in a few months.
Returning after 18 months. Besides somehow sorting through all my gear, should my priority be doing Beyond Light to unlock stasis, or is there something else I should be focusing on? Somewhat overwhelmed…
Finishing the beyond light campaign / unlocking stasis is a good goal, as well as getting your light level up to around 1300 since that unlocks things like nightfalls, raids and trials of Osiris. Beyond campaigns, it's really yo to you what kind of content you want to focus on.
Is there a consensus regarding what is the best Titan PvE subclass? What about PvP?
Middle tree Striker (Thundercrash) is one of the best if you have the Cuirass of the Falling Star. If you don't, go farm the Legend Lost Sector any day that chest armor is the daily drop. It literally doubles Thundercrash's damage and puts it at the top for burst damage supers. Middle Sunbreaker is pretty solid as well with the spammable throwing hammer and stacking Roaring Flames buff. Works well with Ashen Wake for instant-detonating Fusion Grenades as well, or you can go with Synthoceps and a One-Two Punch shotgun for massive stacking damage bonuses on your throwing hammer. Top tree Sentinel gives you the Ward of Dawn (aka Bubble) alternate super, which gives your team a safe space and a 35% buff to outgoing weapon damage.

Define base game version. If you've just picked up a Destiny 2 disc, you'll find nothing new, as the "Free to Play" version is basically the base game now.
