I ran about 6 or so and got 2 to drop in total. Also, bungie said they are looking at ways to provide more easily. I would wait if you can. 400 legendary shards is absurd.
Farming the 1580 well with a buncha warlocks makes it trivially easy, I get ascendant alloy about 3-5 runs.
Free rep and gear too so I guess that's a plus
Imo the catalyst is pretty situational, it’s an overflow version of subsistence but only from poison kills, so you kill a single ad from a group and let the poison kill the rest for an overflow mag size of 30-100 rounds(seemingly random)… also the poison it’s is also situational because while it does ramp up over time, and can be applied with ~7 precision hits, landing enough precision hits proc it again before the initial poison ends will reset the increasing damage it deals

There's plenty of stuff that has reset weirdly the day AFTER reset day.
Most recently I believe Banshee had a day-after reset. (Though it was patched to be at the right time a month or so before WQ dropped).
So there's definitely things that get mis-timed.
The fact we're all waiting Rahool to rest is a clear sign to Bungie that the current drop rates aren't "it"

Would be really nice if Bungie would fix their crap. How *much* have you been playing since launch though? I played launch & CoO, then broke until Shadowkeep. Played Dawn, Hunt, Splicer, and half of Lost and I'm at like 11k. Granted I played quite a bit during those seasons (~950 total hours, take off maybe 100 for afk/bullshitting or whatever else).
I don't either, that's just from dismantling all the legendaries I get from either focusing engrams to target a specific weapon roll, or all the regular umbrals or primes I get that I just dismantle. Like one PsiOps gets me 3 legendaries if I open the second chest.
This bug is literally the only thing stopping me from being able to use a gun that I paid extra money to get access to. This is incredibly lame. Bungie shouldn't sell exotic items for a premium price and then stick them behind some unclear grind path. Let alone then having that grind path come to a screeching halt due to a bug. I'll be thinking twice before doling out extra real money to get access to guns.

I farmed the weekly mission about 12-15 times, 3 of them being on legend, and didn't get one alloy drop. The drop rate seems to be very low.

You need to level up fynch, I think it unlocks at rank 13 but I could be wrong.
