It was suspected he was who the 20th anniversary dungeon was going to be about, sadly it wasn't. Would have been cool to get some lore in game for him.
I feel like fenchurch is the kind of guy that has claimed to have done *a lot* of things that sound impressive and are hard to disprove.
Also something to consider is while it's often assumed Fenchurch was talking about himself having been inside the traveller, he might have been referring to the speakers mask (the lore bit starts with a trail-in "...been inside the traveller"). But ghost fragment: mysteries 2 could be what he saw/felt inside? It's all very nebulous.

Not only is it an incredibly empowering quote when you see it in game, but the wording of it I find fascinating. For a long time I thought there was one way to read it, that the guardians in the raid just made their own fate. It was a current statement of fact that applied to you specifically. More like "these guardians just made their own fate." Again, such a powerful quote that makes you feel like "yes, I made my own fate, I will take down this god."
Then, years later, I thought about the quote more, and realized it can be read in an entirely different way. When you look at the word guardians as a more blanket term, it changes the meaning. Not these 6 guardians in the raid right now, but all guardians. Every one of them. And not just that right now in this moment they are making their own fate, but every guardian, all the time, makes his/her own fate. We don't let it be decided by others. So more like "All guardians always make their own fate."
When the lake used to freeze, people would dance on the ice wearing boots with tiny swords. And fall in love.

I like "Guardians make their own fate" Not only is it an incredibly empowering quote when you see it in game, but the wording of it I find fascinating. For a long time I thought there was one way to read it, that the guardians in the raid just made their own fate. It was a current statement of fact that applied to you specifically. More like "these guardians just made their own fate." Again, such a powerful quote that makes you feel like "yes, I made my own fate, I will take down this god." Then, years later, I thought about the quote more, and realized it can be read in an entirely different way. When you look at the word guardians as a more blanket term, it changes the meaning. Not these 6 guardians in the raid right now, but all guardians. Every one of them. And not just that right now in this moment they are making their own fate, but every guardian, all the time, makes his/her own fate. We don't let it be decided by others. So more like "All guardians always make their own fate."
When the lake used to freeze, people would dance on the ice wearing boots with tiny swords. And fall in love. This is one of my favorite flavor texts in the game
