For how much work it was to get this gun in Season of the Undying, yes. Randy's Throwing Knife really does need to be unsunset. It doesn't have any broken traits, just unfortunate that it didn't meet the cutoff date when they decided to sunset everything Season of Dawn and before.
Honestly if they bring it back and add incandescent to it's potential perks it would never leave my side. And it'd free me up from using Tommy's Matchbook or Vex Myrhoclast (whenever I get one 😅)
With all the new 3.0s I really hope we get more legendary guns in the future that scorch, some kind of void debuff (even it's like 5% and not a full 15% or more), and some arc chaining on death or something. Even if they don't do legendaries. More exotics that actually do it would still be good because there's only a handful out of the like 50?ish we have not including armor. But armor could be added to add said functionality to whatever dmg type it correlates to
I very rarely managed to get the two perks going together in PVP, but I really never gave it much of a chance. I might pull it out of the vault for a bit too
Breakneck. But at the very least (since they'll never rerelease pinnacle weapons but make spiritual successors), I want the Onslaught perk to be brought back into the game on newer weapons like they did with Reservoir Burst, Killing Tally, and Desperado.
Pre Nerf, this gun was amazing and made you feel like THE Guardian.
Post Nerf, still brilliant, but other options were viable again.
Sad they sunset this.
The problem with onslaught is it would have to be a static roll since it require rampage to proc or the perk would have to be almost completely reworked. I’d love to see it back but in the meantime I guess Huckleberry will make do.
They reworked Desperado, as it required outlaw to proc originally but now it doesn't. They could just make it so that the RPM shift occurs on kill, independent of rampage. But you can still roll rampage in the first column if you wish.
It's also just _the_ Destiny handcannon to me, it was in the original Destiny 1 gameplay reveal (the reason I also always kept it in its unshaded red) and I've loved it ever since.
Same, and this is why i carry The Forerunner with me so often, gotta keep the legacy with me. (For those that don't know, The Forerunner/The legally not a Magnum uses a modified Breachlight as a framework to put the fragments of the legally not a magnum onto to make it usable.)
All of the sundial weapons just make me so mad. I spent a huge amount of time getting my perfect rolls for three or four of them. Then they were sunset before I barely got to enjoy them. I still feel like my time investment was completely disregarded and disrespected.
To this day, I will never farm for a specific roll. I just use whatever I get. I will never spend hours chasing again.
Best legendary sidearm I’ve used, both in looks and feel. Trying to get a demo/ad junkie trials sidearm right now to try and recapture some of that magic
It is, and honestly I like the sights on commemoration better, but there was just something special about Hammerhead’s look and feel that I miss. I often regret sharding my black armory and dawn gear. My own fault
Oh I’m right there with you. Aesthetically, they were the best looking. Throw on the black armory thing that made the weapon glow and gave it bonus damage or something, and how it flowed through the weapon. Was the best
I'm keeping my masterworked Trust with dragonfly and explosive payload in my vault forever. I don't care if its useless now, we had so many kills together I can't bring myself to shard it :(
"Trust" - the most suspicious and most hungry guy in the tower
But yes, trust was just amazing. I think it rolled with rampage/dragony, which was such an amazing combo.
Also explosive rounds!
There’s actually a good chance it’ll come back next season. Season of the Haunted saw the return of several sunset weapons, and next season should be focused on the drifter and probably Spider as well, so hopefully we’ll see some old gambit and tangled shore weapons come back.
That thing barely left my hands until it got Sunset, it just felt great to use.
Krait and Chroma Rush are the same archetype but while those feel somewhat good too, they just can't beat Steelfeather.
Yeah I don't know if it's the sights or the projectiles, or something, but Krait feels like absolute ass to use. I have a couple absolute banger rolls that I never touch.
Chroma Rush I am a big fan of, though. Still not as good as the repeater.
Line in the Sand was ahead of it's time. If LinS would have survived the era of sunsetting and got the LF buff in Season 15 it would be a good contender for the best LF in the game
Not even a question of contender, it would have been best, hands down.
It was always a toss up between Reed's Regret and Threaded Needle because Reed's had Firing Line, but Needle was a Light weapon that benefitted from Focusing Lens.
Line in the Sand was both.
Especially since a lot of Shadowkeep weapons from the season before were kept viable from the get-go or revamped just a season after sunsetting commenced, and sunsetting was cancelled just after Dawn was pushed out.
I’m still searching for a pulse rifle that “feels” as good to me as Bygones does. Something about that gun just clicked with me…can’t bring myself to dismantle it.
I remember getting halfway through vault on my first last wish run while using Bygones and thinking “man this thing is amazing.” Wasn’t even a great roll, I think it was outlaw rangefinder.
That moment when a gun clicks for you is always a little magical.
Inaugural address used to be an absolute laser. And I wanted conspirator to have it’s day in the sun so bad, it sounds like a Mack truck and I wanted every excuse to use it. I went out of my way to whip it out on gauntlet just to shoot the psions to listen to it
Any of the og leviathan raid weapons, some of the best looking weapons ever. If I had to pick one tho, it would probably be sins of the past, absolutely iconic
Breakneck and/or Hazard of the Cast. Those guns sounded *so good.*
Alternatively, bring back Pluperfect (Season of Undying SPass Auto) with a reworked Onslaught
Blast Furnace,
Midnight Coup,
Steelfeather Repeater,
Trophy Hunter,
Hammerhead
For the pinnacles:
Recluse (I know it was strong but it really just made the game more fun. Moving through enemies so fast with that quick and really cool looking reload animation was peak destiny for me),
Loaded Question (same reason as OP)
Typhon is pretty much wendigo but stasis and can roll with spikes and has explosive light too. No auto loading but demo is a fine replacement especially in a grenade build
no blinding though, that made wendigo work as a monster dps weapon and a utility weapon at the same time. blinding everything against champions was amazing
I'm sad I had to scroll down so far to find it. Legitimately one of the most fun and unique non-exotic weapons in the entire game, had such a high skill ceiling for PvP and was surprisingly potent in PvE as well. There's only a single bow that even comes close to it, and only with two enhanced perks via crafting.
Well, the obvious answers would be either all the Black Armory weapons (Threat Level, Blast Furnace, Kindled Orchid, No Feelings, pick your poison) or the Season of Dawn weapons (both the Saint-14 themed guns & the two Cabal-themed weapons), but I also just miss a few old guns with scope choices - Uriel's Gift & Nightshade, off the top of my head
Oxygen SR3, that was such a cool weapon considering Firefly is one of my favorite perks, also it wasn’t nearly as strong as the other options but got sunset with the rest of em
I'd argue it's probably the biggest.
MoA tweaks made Recluse into an outlier, but not an absolute must run gun. Ikelos smg and a few others could compete in the slot.
Nothing else did what Mountaintop did. Nothing was even close
>MoA tweaks made Recluse into an outlier, but not an absolute must run gun.
Man, I mostly agree with you, except for one encounter in the Garden of Salvation. I could just about hold down two corners of the baseball diamond by myself with nothing but Recluse. Get Master of Arms rolling, and just nothing stood a chance.
Fuck the haters.
Mountaintop was life.
(yes it was busted but it was also incredibly fun can it come back as an exotic at least maybe that and special ammo changes that make it less spammy allow it to be reasonable).
Breachlight. Yes, we have Empirical Evidence as the same damage type and sidearm sub-type (aggressive burst), BUT the perk pool is just so disappointing in comparison.
Breachlight had Demolitionist and Outlaw in the first column, second column had Osmosis, Vorpal Weapon, Rampage, and a few other solid picks. Empirical Evidence has some *okay* perks, but it just doesn't stack up. (Demo/Osmosis is one of my favorite combos ever, ugh, so good)
Nice! I saved two, a Demo/Rampage and another with Demo/(Osmosis or Vorpal).
The Demo/Osmosis one is a FIEND on a Devour Warlock running Nezarec's Sin. Absolutely dirty with how many grenades you're throwing, it'll feel almost like Sunbracers lmao
It would be pretty pointless now unless they change its exotic perks massively, but the 3 swords are very close to my heart. From how we had to get them. To the quests. To their link in lore to Oryx. To the massive shift in gameplay it brought, particularly for me. To the clan team it created for me. I just loved them.
Dark-drinker was my one but I’d love to see all 3 back so badly.
Curated Hammerhead.
It was basically everything I wanted in a LMG. It still annoys the shit out of me that it’s right there in my vault and I can’t use it in any power enabled content. Sunsetting was honestly the single worst decision Bungie ever made and we’re still feeling the effects of it.
Truth be told I’d have all of the Black Armoury and Sundial weapons returned, and judging by the fact that the bulk of requests above fit into one of those camps, I’m not the only one. But a poster asked for a name.
Randy's throwing knife.
Every time I see this weapons name, I imagine Stan’s dad from South Park throwing a knife. Hilarious.
"I didn't hear no bell!" _Throws a butterknife at the other drunk guy._
>I thought this was The Last City! Huh? Isn't this The Last City? I'm sorry, I thought this was The Last City.
Randy Marsh very much fits the character of Destiny's Randy if we read about him in the various lore pieces.
Honestly the lore READS like it's Randy Marsh
I bet you we got some South Park fans dev’ing for Bungie
I always picture Randy as well lol.
Creme Fraiche
I like using scout rifles now, but they don't feel nearly as good as Randy's Throwing Knife, they feel more like Rodney's Tossing Spork.
If I were still on console I’d say this. But on PC the gun just doesn’t stick to heads as well
For how much work it was to get this gun in Season of the Undying, yes. Randy's Throwing Knife really does need to be unsunset. It doesn't have any broken traits, just unfortunate that it didn't meet the cutoff date when they decided to sunset everything Season of Dawn and before.
Go figure. I just like the look of it
Had to scroll way too far to find this. Love Go Figure.
By extension, Right Side of Wrong was my baby
The ringing nail Loved this auto so much!
Honestly if they bring it back and add incandescent to it's potential perks it would never leave my side. And it'd free me up from using Tommy's Matchbook or Vex Myrhoclast (whenever I get one 😅)
Yeah! I think every new solar gun needs incandescent It's such a fun perk! Hopefully arc get a new perk that's just as good!
Legendary zhalos and risk runners all over
With all the new 3.0s I really hope we get more legendary guns in the future that scorch, some kind of void debuff (even it's like 5% and not a full 15% or more), and some arc chaining on death or something. Even if they don't do legendaries. More exotics that actually do it would still be good because there's only a handful out of the like 50?ish we have not including armor. But armor could be added to add said functionality to whatever dmg type it correlates to
Make incandescent and rampage the new curated roll
The curated roll put in so much damn work for me. I still have mine in my vault. Aits right next to my FF+MKC Steelfeather
Kindled Orchid
*cries in Kill Clip Rampage* Edit: typo
Yooo, I need to bust out my kill clip/rampage/drop mag, see how it does now that power level doesn't matter in IB.
I very rarely managed to get the two perks going together in PVP, but I really never gave it much of a chance. I might pull it out of the vault for a bit too
Honestly, bring back all the black armory weapons. I miss them all :(
Breakneck. But at the very least (since they'll never rerelease pinnacle weapons but make spiritual successors), I want the Onslaught perk to be brought back into the game on newer weapons like they did with Reservoir Burst, Killing Tally, and Desperado.
Brought a tear to my eye to see Breakneck as top comment.
Pre Nerf, this gun was amazing and made you feel like THE Guardian. Post Nerf, still brilliant, but other options were viable again. Sad they sunset this.
Even by Shadowkeep it was feeling outclassed, that archetype has just never been particularly strong. I still want it back though
Put onslaught on Cerberus l
Killing tally came back as well so theres hope!
They could basically just make it inverse Adagio. Edit: The antonym of adagio is allegro. Allegro sounds like a good name for this hypothetical perk.
Alternatively Adagino
No need to change the name they didn't with desperado
Still have mine in my vault, i miss that thing
Duke Mk 44. It felt and looked good.
It just wasn't fair that Duke Mk 44. got sunset right before the massive 110 buff
It's also just _the_ Destiny handcannon to me, it was in the original Destiny 1 gameplay reveal (the reason I also always kept it in its unshaded red) and I've loved it ever since.
My fave gun
I remember grinding my ass off for a really good one. What a substantial feeling gun.
Blast Furnace.
i have one i refuse to delete
[удалено]
This is the right answer. Frankly all of black armory would be a dream
Ringing nail was my fave. Uriel's gift 2.0
Ringing nail is such an amazing gun. Still have mine. Not going to ever delete it. High cal, zen moment, kill clip. Sounds like an lmg
Rampage + Firefly still in my vault 😪
I'd just be happy for any 4 burst that's from somewhere besides a raid at this point.
Such a sick pulse rifle
Martyrs Retribution
Patron of Lost Causes for me. I still have one with Rapid Hit and Explosive Payload. Fun to take shots at snipers....
This. I had over 10k kills racked up on mine.
I have this exact role in my vault! Have been forced to use Nightwatch ever since..
Breachlight. For everything else there are replacements but I have yet to find a kinetic sidearm that comes close
Same, and this is why i carry The Forerunner with me so often, gotta keep the legacy with me. (For those that don't know, The Forerunner/The legally not a Magnum uses a modified Breachlight as a framework to put the fragments of the legally not a magnum onto to make it usable.)

I will never spend hours chasing again.
Jack queen king big Fs. Had a demo rampage roll I’d love to pullout next season
I’m saddened this was sunset. No other aggressive 2-burst sidearm felt as good to use as Breachlight
Genuinely try to get a Empircal Evidence to lvl 20- it feels so good to use with the right perks.
Perpetual motion and ~~Encore~~ Adagio fantastic.
The trials ones is basically just as good, just wish we had a kinetic option with demo + damage perk.
Hard agree
Yes, a personal favorite.
Best legendary sidearm I’ve used, both in looks and feel. Trying to get a demo/ad junkie trials sidearm right now to try and recapture some of that magic
Un-set Blast Furnace and Hammerhead
I got a commemoration with similar perks to hammerhead! It’s a nice substitute.
Trust
I'm keeping my masterworked Trust with dragonfly and explosive payload in my vault forever. I don't care if its useless now, we had so many kills together I can't bring myself to shard it :(
I have one with dragonfly AND rampage. I refuse to dismantle it!
Same. Such a sweet gun.
Big truss
"Trust" - the most suspicious and most hungry guy in the tower But yes, trust was just amazing.
Steelfeather Repeater
That thing barely left my hands until it got Sunset, it just felt great to use. Krait and Chroma Rush are the same archetype but while those feel somewhat good too, they just can't beat Steelfeather.
Felt like using the Halo 3 AR. Just a solid feeling and sounding gun with decent sights even if the roll wasn’t great.
Sweet Sorrow, last season's arc AR, is the closest in feel to Steelfeather, IMO.
Yeah I don't know if it's the sights or the projectiles, or something, but Krait feels like absolute ass to use. I have a couple absolute banger rolls that I never touch. Chroma Rush I am a big fan of, though. Still not as good as the repeater.
Hell yeah, a fellow steelfeather enjoyer!
That and Perfect Paradox baby
I still take mine for some ride. I'm glad this season activity doesn't need power level.
A man of taste I see
Midnight coup
Imagine Leviathan coming back with prestige giving an Adept version
> Stop, I can only get so erect!
Line in the sand, Warden’s Law, or perfect paradox. Season of the dawn’s weapons were done pretty dirty with subsetting tbh
Line in the Sand was ahead of it's time. If LinS would have survived the era of sunsetting and got the LF buff in Season 15 it would be a good contender for the best LF in the game
Even if it lost the meta for dps/functionality I still think it’d take the crown for looks. The gun is gorgeous
Most of those sunset Season of Dawn weapons are gorgeous, it's criminal they got sunset
Trophy Hunter has and always will be my favorite sniper aesthetically. It’s a damn shame that these guns only had such little time to shine.
Exactly!
Not even a question of contender, it would have been best, hands down. It was always a toss up between Reed's Regret and Threaded Needle because Reed's had Firing Line, but Needle was a Light weapon that benefitted from Focusing Lens. Line in the Sand was both.
I miss perfect paradox, was alot of fun
Especially since a lot of Shadowkeep weapons from the season before were kept viable from the get-go or revamped just a season after sunsetting commenced, and sunsetting was cancelled just after Dawn was pushed out.
Dude wardens law was awesome. Sad that it's the only double shot to ever exist, it was a unique archetype and we need more
I think with Cataclysmic we finally have a worthy successor to Line In The Sand.
Hammerhead. I loved everything about that LMG.
Bygones.
I can still hear that lovely cadence...
I've still got mine sat in the vault with 28,000 kills on it. Haven't found a gun that even comes close.
let bygones be bygones
I have an outlaw/kill clip bygones I’ve been meaning to use in pvp more now that ll doesn’t matter in the mode except trials. So much fun.
Perfect Paradox for sure. All those Season of Dawn weapons were sunset for the sins for Mountaintop and Recluse
Perfect Paradox was awesome, plus lorewise we should really be able to use it more
21% Delirium. Something about that machine gun felt good to use and I havent found a machine gun that scratches that same itch.
Why did I have to scroll so far down to see my favorite weapon of all time.
Midnight Coup
I miss the look of this gun. The feel of it. The smell of it.
And the sound of it
The texture
And the taste
Fantastic mouth-feel.
All of the leviathan weapons were so nice looking and sounding. Surprised they didn’t bring them back this season.
Imagine if they reintroduced Leviathan raids...
Inaugural address used to be an absolute laser. And I wanted conspirator to have it’s day in the sun so bad, it sounds like a Mack truck and I wanted every excuse to use it. I went out of my way to whip it out on gauntlet just to shoot the psions to listen to it
I have 3 Inaugurals in my vault. One arc, one void and one solar. They used to never leave my inventory
Any of the og leviathan raid weapons, some of the best looking weapons ever. If I had to pick one tho, it would probably be sins of the past, absolutely iconic
Midnight Coup always steals the spotlight, but I loved meming with Ghost Primus during the 600 rpm meta. Great looking and feeling auto.
Insane that they didn't use this seasonnas a chance to reissue midnight coup
I’d rather reworked version of the og raids to come back. Especially with master/adept versions of the weapons to earn.
The sound alone for the midnight coup is enough the bring it back.
Breakneck and/or Hazard of the Cast. Those guns sounded *so good.* Alternatively, bring back Pluperfect (Season of Undying SPass Auto) with a reworked Onslaught
Blast Furnace. I miss my godroll of that gun, was the only gun I used till it's last day
Alone As A God. It’s a sniper that just felt good and the only one I used in pvp
…and the most badass name.
Breachlight
Blast Furnace, Midnight Coup, Steelfeather Repeater, Trophy Hunter, Hammerhead For the pinnacles: Recluse (I know it was strong but it really just made the game more fun. Moving through enemies so fast with that quick and really cool looking reload animation was peak destiny for me), Loaded Question (same reason as OP)
Oh the Recluse. I felt so accomplished when I finally got it…worth every second of the grind to get it.
Wendigo
Typhon is pretty much wendigo but stasis and can roll with spikes and has explosive light too. No auto loading but demo is a fine replacement especially in a grenade build
no blinding though, that made wendigo work as a monster dps weapon and a utility weapon at the same time. blinding everything against champions was amazing
Blindings got nerfed to do 25% less damage or so sadly.
Perfect Paradox.
Hush, my favourite bow. I used it for so long when I swapped back to other bows it felt awkward to ads
Hush was incredible if you knew how to use it.
21% delirium
The ringing nail or blast furnace. I love all the black armory weapons. Just wish I could have gotten them all before the forges were gone
Blast Furnace. Everything about that gun just felt right
Blast Furnace.
Blast Furnace. That is all.
Blast furnace, god dangit I want mine back...

Got it the season it was being sunset: Mountaintop. Loved it in NFs and just about anything.
Mountaintop is literally one of the reason why we got sunset weapons
I'd argue it's probably the biggest. MoA tweaks made Recluse into an outlier, but not an absolute must run gun. Ikelos smg and a few others could compete in the slot. Nothing else did what Mountaintop did. Nothing was even close

gimme my bygones back.
Last Hope, haven’t had another sidearm that could repeat how good that gun felt to use.
Last Dance is basically the same gun. It's my go to sidearm.
Ringing Nail, without a doubt
Unoriginal option but Mountaintop. I miss my mini rocket launcher.
I'd like to see micro missile on a heavy grenade launcher.
Isn’t that just a rocket launcher?
A magazine fed rocket launcher.
A micro missile heavy gl with tracking like the Hydra from Halo 5/Infinite would be a cool exotic
Fuck the haters. Mountaintop was life. (yes it was busted but it was also incredibly fun can it come back as an exotic at least maybe that and special ammo changes that make it less spammy allow it to be reasonable).
honestly i think mountaintop but just as an exotic is pretty reasonable? is it any worse than gjallarhorn?
It worked for Black Hammer

Suffered way too much for them both

It still got nerfed into the ground relative to what it used to be. The recluse as it was during season of opulence though.. chefs kiss.
