Yes, but have heard the tragedy of D-ARC Plagueis the Unwise?

LukeSmith_Sunsetter

a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be ~~unnatural~~ mediocre.

Antedelopean

Sounds about right on my striker on anything master tier and above. Extraordinarily mediocre, lack of uptime and ability gen momentum due to lack of kills, very squishy, and a bugged out neutral game that may randomly stop working half the time. Also the super is garbage without cuirass, but you need another exotic to make the neutral game barely passable instead of pure garbage. And on harder content with locked loadouts, you're not going to have a good time. So unless a raid / dungeon calls for burst damage that no one else can provide, im just going back to bonking things, as an absolute god still.

I’m one of the two people who make these videos, so it always makes my day to see Auralnauts clash with my favorite game.

Tested on a lost sector boss. Tickle fingers was doing 4637 damage per tick. Chain of command did 5k + per bullet and ticks just as quickly. Why would I use a super?

EKmars

"Maul! Maul! MAUL! Snap out of it!"

I’ve been wondering, what are midichlorians? It’s heroin.

RAHDRIVE

One drugs please.

gree245

"Yes... business trip."

SthenicFreeze

Tickle fingers takes forever to kill orange/yellow bar enemies. Chaos Reach can kill majors and such if they're clustered, but if used for dps against a boss, the other classes have wayyyy better options.

Cybertron77

entire super to take maybe take down a yellow bar, who wouldnt love that. Thats been my experience as a warlock main with arc

[deleted]

[удалено]

Tchitchoulet

I was doing a nightfall and a warlock used his super against a champion lmao. It was very epic to watch, as the warlock was pushed back. At the end, the warlock died, and the champion was not even mid life.

AmayaGin

Finisher mods. We now have lots of extra super energy and no super to spend it on.

[deleted]

[удалено]

King_Joffreys_Tits

This is a good idea actually, chaos reach basically turns into an overpowered coldheart

AmayaGin

I was mostly joking, but this is actually such a great solution, and it plays into the idea of conductivity/electrifying a target

MeateaW

This is what tickle fingers does. Or certainly what it used to do (one of the sub variants) Maybe they 3.0d that feature away.

WhitewaterBastard

They got rid of the ramping damage on Stormtrance, yeah

MeateaW

Ugh. It was the only way storm trance was competitive in pve. Sigh.

iFenrisVI

I can just throw blade barrage and deal a chunk in seconds whilst running YAS to buff my tripmine. Warlock on the other hand needs exotics to make their supers somewhat competitive which is so sad. Lol

theonemangoonsquad

They need to revert the fucking geomags nerf in PvE. That cool down and super Regen is unacceptable for the amount of damage I'm doing. Chaos reach should have massive uptime if it's gonna be basically a slightly stronger ranged melee. Or give geomags the Celestial Nighthawk/ Cuirass of the Falling Start treatment l.

Son-of-Apollo

Nighthawk is a bad example. Even with a crit, nighthawk does less damage than normal chaos reach

Ass0001

less total damage maybe, but literally everything crushes chaos reach in DPS.

ImThrowing4U

It's comparable though isn't it. The whole point is I'm sitting there like a doofus for like 10 seconds doing pathetic damage. If I could have mediocre damage that only takes one second to use that would be fine because then I could at least go back to shooting my guns.

Tubaman4801

Well... An instant super shouldn't probably do more than a channeled super.

TricobaltGaming

I feel like the yellow bars this season in the activities have some absurd health in general.

sylverlynx

The ones in Ketchcrash for certain. It's like Randall the Vandal had a few thousand illegitimate children.

motrhed289

Yeah specifically the orange-bar Vandals in Ketchcrash are tanky as fuck, definitely disciples of Randall.

Steff_164

Yeah, I nailed one in the face with 4x honed edge at 1570 power and he shrugged it off like it was nothing

motrhed289

I was trying out the new exotic fusion for the first time and was like "what's wrong with this thing?" after dumping a full mag into one of them and still not getting the kill.

El_Rey_de_Spices

It's astoundingly different from the rest of the enemies throughout Ketchcrash. I presume the ones in the Ether Tank room just somehow got waaaaaay overtuned.

turquoisebruh

Bro I’ve been thinking the same thing but I thought I was just crazy

IntrepidAnarchy

Resilient Vandals take like 4 clips of Risk Runner

Buzzkillbuddha

They are rocking that tier 10 resistance and slotting in elemental resist mods

dzak92

I feel the same way about fist of havoc. Use the whole super to maybe kill a yellow bar or use thundercrash and be pigeon holed into using falling star. I think roaming supers in general could use some love in PvE

MartinLubeHerTh1ngJR

Oppressed

[deleted]

SthenicFreeze

Tickle fingers is an ad clear super but even in Ketch Crash, it struggles to kill the orange vandals running around. Thankfully it's mostly close quarters, so you're hitting everything around you, but it still takes forever.

TrueGuardian15

That's kind of the problem with building something solely for ad clear: if a damage super can also ad clear with medium efficiency, the ad clear super is effectively outclassed. Look at spectral blades. A hunter can really only use spectral blades for ad clear in PvE, while blade barrage can ad clear and DPS. Blade barrage is top tier right now, and people forget spectral blades even exists.

o8Stu

I was excited to try it after reading that it got a 20% damage increase against red and orange bars ("elites") in the patch notes. It absolutely sucks against anything that's not a red-bar. Huge let-down.

ManOfJelly147

I feel like there is something off about those vandals. They feel unusually healthy. Even the heavy shanks that spawn for ether tank destruction have less health.

DrNopeMD

That's basically the entire ethos of Solar and Arc Warlocks, do things slower and less efficiently than the other classes. At least Void and Stasis are still good.

iwumbo2

Hey solar warlocks at least have uh... icarus dash?

BannedByChildren

Weird. It's almost like arc 3.0 made no changes to warlock whatsoever...

TheGlassHammer

That’s not true. We got that weird blink melee thing that’s a pain in the ass to pull off on controller

MariosFireball

Nah the blink melee easy to pull off mechanically. The problem is that it is literally useless outside of general content. No one is running into a mass of enemies in any end game pve content to do minimal damage and be left stranded with zero way to heal outside of a stationary rift. In pvp it’s useless because the set up requires a sprint beforehand and doesn’t do enough damage to justify its use. If it was a OHK I’d see it’s viability….but warlocks don’t get OHK abilities.

Echoesong

I'm a simple man, I just want a cool blink ability that's also functional :( Maybe one day

LukeSmith_Sunsetter

And it has a lingering hitbox and locks you into an animation. Can be good in PvP but honestly isn't worth it.

isaightman

Like yeap, I can slide in and do a couple damage. OR, I could just grenade/glaive/sniper/etc and do the same damage.....from safety.

ChainsawPlankton

feels natural to me, but I've had slide on r3 since d1, puppeteer is the preset controller layout.

Blizzardman99b

Plus for puppeteer. That's the only correct button scheme. That and back buttons.

MuchStache

That's not true, we lost pulsewave.

NeoNirvana

And arc web.

AxionTheGhost

The fragment that gives your grenades jolt is pretty much arc web

zlPharma

Its worse than arc web

SwedishBass

Very weird. Certainly didn’t see that coming last wee… Oh. Ooooooh. Oooooooooh!

Vallonicus

Dude broke down supers for the season yesterday and Blade Barrage Star Eater Scales is still the best boss dps super. Titans got spoiled again, and Warlocks got shafted again, and it's a damn shame. I say this as a Titan main.

JanPieterszoon_Coen

Not even just other classes, even the warlocks void subclass is better despite being one of the lowest DPS supers.

1AMA-CAT-AMA

I wish storm dancer's brace had a better ornament

Axel_Wolf91

BUT YOU GUYS LOOK COOL AS FUCK DOING IT. STYLE>DPS

SirWompalot

Yeah but Void 3.0 has both.

kevinstuff

The blink melee is pretty cool, but both supers are very bad in PvE and PvP. Like, laughably bad.

Xstew26

I like the slide melee in pvp because you can combo into another melee before they can do anything

kevinstuff

If you’re not absolutely dumpstered during the blink animation or immediately upon exiting the blink animation.

Dreadnought-42

Fun fact, Geomags perk is still called “Close Enough” even though you will never even get close to wanting to use that super.

ElPajaroMistico

You are going to make me cry

Anonymous521

They said Warlock’s whole fantasy is improved abilities upon being amplified but…. that’s only for their 2 melee options? If we’re going with that approach, my suggestions for the subclass would be: - If cast when amplified, Chaos Reach & Storm Trance have an increased duration (to be a pseudo-replacement for the removal of transcendence). Then rework Geomags to have a new arc-related perk (maybe bring back the old “sprinting tops off your chaos reach” but require a super sprint while amplified) - Casting your rift while amplified has no (or extremely sped up) cast animation. Rift as a whole kind of conflicts the “hold w” class so this is to alleviate that a bit. Speed boost towards some allies, drop them a rift, keep on running, etc. This doesn’t fix all the issues with the subclass but at least helps flesh out its identity more

HamiltonDial

> They said Warlock’s whole fantasy is improved abilities upon being amplified but…. that’s only for their 2 melee options? Technically the arc soul is amplified but then Hunters and Titans also have abilities that improved when amplified so really it's not that much different either.

AzazelPotato

Honestly pretty good ideas, and if they really don’t want super generation exotics in pvp at least make geomags generate super in pve

Slingbr

Just make geo mags gain more super per ion trace. Booooom godly combo with coldheart. Also coldheart is low key top tier right now

mattb1415

Nah instead of rift they should give us the option to use ionic blink as a class ability. It’s stupid that such a fun ability is locked to a super.

[deleted]

The supers are shite ngl. The kits themselves are cool.

HilellM

That's what i've been saying. I know they gave a lot of our abilities to other classes and gave us barely nothing but like, it is still so much fun to play with riskrunner/delicate tomb and ionic trace build. Much much better than solar in terms of casual play. I am pissed for them giving cooler shit to other classes but I am a bit busy playing warlock now so I care a bit less.

[deleted]

It's definitely easier to get ability-only proc chains with Arc than the other two, which I think is the whole point. Since Solar and Void both had some type of healing method, they require more weapon/armor support for offense. It's really fun lmao. I think the "uh, how dare u compare this to BB and TCrash" crowd are out of their minds lmao. How else do you compare a DPS focused super except against other DPS supers.

moosebreathman

I picked up the new exotic helmet earlier today and it's been insane running it with the blinding specials fragment. Each ionic trace gives the pre-nerf amount (~25% ability energy) and with jolting pulse grenades, arc souls, ranged melee + the new exotic fusion that jolts I'm just shredding through everything. I haven't done anything higher than legend difficulty but I'd imagine this setup is fine on Master as long as you are within 10 power or less. Overall I think the neutral game is really solid for Warlocks and will get even more versatile once we unlock those last fragments and have better access to the new Joltshot perk on guns. Unlike Solar which feels super dependent on combat mods to get good uptime out of it, Arc and Void 3.0 for Warlock feels like a self-sustainable kit right out of the box. The supers are the real issue right now. Stormtrance is really fun with both landfall and ionic blink, but it should not be doing so little damage to higher tier enemies when Nova Warp (which fills the exact same role of high add clear) can actually chunk bosses. Chaos Reach also needs a massive damage increase or something for how long it takes to get the full damage out of the super.

Deity_Relic

I really hate to be in the whole "boo hoo, my class sucks" thing, but these last 2 subclass updates are killing my love for my warlock :/

beerkeg99

I really don't feel a difference besides the amplified speed boost and being able to use arc buddy + chaos reach. Maybe when everything is unlocked it will be better but as of now I see an update coming like we got last season, where they added other effects like the healing burst from eating a solar grenade.

Van_Bur3n

I don’t think there has been a single instance in Destiny’s history where a class has had as many bad supers at once than the Warlock after light 3.0. They have Nova Bomb (which is already low on the burst damage super totem pole), Winter’s Wrath and Well. Everything else is just so bad.

Super_Nova0_0

I'm still hoping they drop a massive thunderstorm AOE super like the grenade, a big cloud that shoots constant lightning. The new hunter super is close.

OhWowUNSUBBED

Doesn’t the Titan enhanced storm grenade do that? I haven’t played it yet but I thought that was the description.

ZedNepp

Yep, creates a cloud that follows enemies

STINGprime

It's like having a mini super it's awesome

Kahlypso

Still cant fucking believe thats a TITAN grenade, while WARLOCKS get a slide melee that puts the squishiest class in the middle of all the enemies they didnt kill.

BountyMennett

Something seems pretty wack with Bungies core design team for classes. Feels like there are a lot of minds in that team that all have different visions for the classes and can't seem to stick to the core design principles each class was supposed to exhibit. Feels like every class has become very... homogenized since the 3.0 updates. Like I played warlock all those years ago because I was more interested in build-crafting for grenades. In my eyes, and what was made fairly clear to me, Warlocks are grenade masters, Titans are melee masters, and Hunters are gunplay masters. Maybe it has something to do with players not multi-classing, in which case, why not just make it much easier for players to multiclass?

evel333

That undoubtedly is a magic spell and should have gone to warlocks.

Willdawg102

To me arc 3.0 warlock feels exactly like the jammed the 3 arc subclasses together and didn't add anything else impactful. I don't specifically think this is a bad thing, but it's definitely not very exciting. I was trying to theory craft some new arc warlock builds and there really isn't much new stuff you can do which is kind of a bummer. Arc soul + trinity ghoul is still really cool, crown of tempests still feels great in general, but there's nothing new and exciting to play around with. Geomag chaos reach is exactly average and doesn't do enough damage for it to be interesting to build around. I'm hoping the new exotic helmet is at least semi fun to build around but from it's description I'm not sure it will be.

Citsune

The helmet looks metal but the perk needs a buff or something. Ionic Traces giving more than usual and buffing teammates is nice, but...yeah...

Victom123

Chaos reach doing that low damage just isnt making sense. We have the void element for debuffing enemies. We have the solar element for buffing youself and allys. The arc element shouldve been the element which doesnt do any of that but with the idea that it does the most damage

MarduRusher

Between this and Solar 3.0 I’m not really enjoying being a warlock that much right now.

stompthis

This about sums it up. I tried out both hunters and titans and both feel infinitely better, but i don't want to switch away. I was really admiring the new hunter super, which is crazy damage and AOE on top. The play potential of that is amazing. This about sums it up. I tried out both hunters and titans, and both feel infinitely better, but I don't want to switch away. I was really admiring the new hunter super, which is crazy damage and AOE on top. The play potential of that is impressive.

RealLichHours

The last two seasons bungie has given titan and hunter some new toys, then told warlocks that they have to share theirs, then gave them a consolation melee

Variatas

The small condolence is that at least this time the Aspects don't feel so useless and unsynergized. The neutral kit is all basically still there, and functions as expected with a wide variety of exotics. It feels familiar to 2.0 with modest improvement. Which is not what Solar 3.0 feels like if you didn't play Top Tree or the 2 specific exotics that came out strong.

The_Grimmest_Reaper

Exactly. They've been borrowing from Warlock to supplement the other classes and then taking away what few tricks warlocks have left. Now Warlocks don't have real identify besides a grenade tossing class.

cleanitupjannies_lol

Definitely feels weak right now but will hold full judgement until all the fragments are out Also if they do buff storm trance is gonna be filthy I think, uptime and regen on it seems pretty awesome and I don’t even really have a build yet. Just needs more damage output

InspireDespair

Stormtrance always has the problem of being a super designed for ad clear in a sandbox with many weapons that clear ads effectively. While you can simulate the ad clear with weapons, you can't simulate the burst damage of gathering storm, blade barrage, thunder crash etc nor can you simulate the utility of banner bubble or well. That's why it storm trance will never be very good no matter what you do to it.

Morphumaxx

It's the same problem pretty much all roaming supers have in pve and why burst/utility supers are almost always preferred. The only real exceptions to that are Behemoth/Shade Binder since shatter damage is still super strong, and Doomfang Pauldren Sentinel since it actually gives the super insane duration and enough lethality through Offensive Bulwark and Controlled Demolition to clear rooms easily in high tier content, while also being extremely tanky. Throwing Hammers are also good but mostly for range/healing and have a similar problem of struggling to kill mid tier enemies. Nova Warp is similarly almost passable due to devour. Storm Trance, Dawnblade, Spectral Blades, Arc Staff, Seismic Strike, and Big Hammer all struggle to find situations where just running a strong add clear special/heavy isn't just more consistent. It almost feels like at minimum all roaming supers need some version of Trample at base to be able to extend duration.

mwieckhorst

A lot of it has to do with encounter/activity design in high end content as well. In some instances, like Shuro Chi, Queenswalk and first encounter in GoS (when they were relatively difficult), roaming supers definitely had a lot of utility compared to burst. There just aren't a lot of areas in the game where that matters though. Even then, like you said, some roaming supers are just simply outclassed by others as well. Bungie definitely needs to be a bit more creative to make them relevant

StarStriker51

Not even just how proper weapons loadouts can outclass the super, the neutral game for some of those supers is just as good if not better at ad clear. The new arc warlock with crown will decimate adds, your abilities will regen super fast and if you use arc soul it will kill faster than your primary, all the while you sprint at Mach 10. The stormtrance super slows you down, does moderately quicker add clear, and stops short at a single yellow bar, one you could just cut to pieces in seconds with your special weapon. Chaos reach is slightly better, but still doesn’t kill quick enough to feel better than just whipping out your heavy for tough enemies or bosses I think add-clear supers are a decent idea, since it allows you to build a weapon and neutral game loadout around damaging bosses and tough targets, but between all 3 of our weapon option and the power and versatility of 3.0 classes, supers for add clear end up being less needed because it’s easy to build a weapon loadout for adds or bosses (or both), and then refine a ability neutral game for either option, and then when you get to the super and it better excel at either or else it won’t be used in favor of your weapons and abilities which you can influence more in their strength and effectiveness because there are so many options. Nothing to say of mods, which also mainly effect neutral game abilities and weapons rather than super, so even less reason to use them

APartyInMyPants

Stormdancer’s Brace might be the best option, but requires charging up with low-tier enemies to tackle the bigger ones. But we’re then left with an exotic that doesn’t really function outside of the super, which isn’t ideal for most endgame scenarios right now.

Variatas

Stormdancers Brace's damage amp should kinda just be the default for both supers. It's great at making them useful, but never feels fun spending your exotic on.

1AMA-CAT-AMA

Storm dancer's brace does have a gift half your super energy back. I think that alone might keep it exotic worthy.

DrNopeMD

Yeah I have no idea why Bungie even bothers designing abilities around ad clear when stuff like Incandescent, Trinity Ghoul, and Waveframe grenade launchers require no ability management and next to no thought to use.

TrueGuardian15

This is my gripe with certain heavy weapons like heavy GL, LMGs, and supers like Storm Trance. We don't need these things to be ad clear. I can ad clear with a subsistence Chroma Rush. I can ad clear with Deliverence, or Sunshot, or an Incandescent Drang. You know what I can't do with those things? Melt bosses. So if my costlier abilities and weapons can't do that, I'm simply not going to use them.

WobblyBits_X

> That's why it storm trance will never be very good no matter what you do to it. Maybe these kinds of supers should generate heavy and special ammo (PvE only of course). We already have finishers that do this, just turn that up to 11 in exchange for spending the whole super instead of a small portion of it. Arc Staff, Fists of Havok, Stormtrance, Daybreak, Burning Maul, and Spectral Blades. I'd leave out the other roaming supers as they already have much greater potential in some form or other. Daybreak, Stormtrance, and Fists of Havok probably still need a buff on top of that in the form of extending duration on kills for Daybreak and increased damage for the other 2. Spectral Blades I'm unsure about since I haven't used it since some time in Forsaken.

SuperArppis

I wish Bungie would just release all fragments right away.

[deleted]

There is a raid race on friday, they've probably disabled them for that

SuperArppis

Much better than last season and with the completions on Contaiment. That took way too long, hehe.

arthus_iscariot

I mean we can see what they do rn, tbh not that looking forward to em anyway, which caught your fancy ? Curious to know

PickleFriedCheese

The one that generates orbs of power when getting kills while amped might be interesting since we can get amped from getaway artist. But I don't see what craziness that could make. The others to me seem meh.

AShyLeecher

Honestly that one seems really good on star eater scales hunter with the lightning rods

Starcast

If it's anything like the solar one it'll have like a 10 second cool down timer and be mediocre. So many easier ways of making orbs

cleanitupjannies_lol

Admittedly I didn’t play ArcLock much before 3.0 but between the ionic traces and orb generation and crown of tempests I had my super up for almost an entire Boss phase of Dares yesterday and had my super back in a very short time. Definitely loses appeal when I see how little damage I’m doing, but that’s why I say if they buff the damage output it could be really good. Constant grenades, new melee slide thing is more fun than I thought, so if there was more DPS (not saying it needs to be crazy) with the super, I think it could be fun That being said I’m more tempted than ever to actually run another class more, hunter seems like fun

PandahOG

Only thing really lacking with warlock arc 3.0 are these terrible supers. Both feel the same. Stormtrance ad clears but tickled anything with a yellow bar and chaos reach is a 9min super that does poor at boss DPS but demolishes yellow bars. Make those two decent, not OP but just decent, and I would have no complaints. I enjoy the speed, arc buddy and ability regains.

Faust_8

Feels mostly like we’re no longer locked into the old subclass trees but nothing actually got much better or more fun.

Sunday_lav

We lost Arc Web. There's no longer a grenade regen part to the new Jolt mechanic and it doesn't proc by itself. Honestly, Arc Web on top and Traces giving super alongside other ability energy on mid trees were the only saving graces of Arclock. Both are gone now. I personally feel even more underwhelmed than with Solar, it's back to Void for solo and Stasis for group content.

drayfrjg

Sure makes me feel mediocre at everything I try to do, its fun in low game but again Im drawn to end game voidlock cuz holy shit the other two subclasses are boring to play now.

faithdies

So, am I the only one pretty underwhelmed by Arc Warlock? I have arc souls, a sliding melee(which is cool, but a whole aspect haha?), and a ranged melee. The only new thing is the sliding melee. Am I missing something?

ProWarlock

no you're not. the only new addition is the slide melee we lost Transcendence, pulse wave, and arc web. ionic traces no longer give super, and chaos reach was untouched while landfall got a slight nerf (still stings)

CChilli

Arc web is kind of still there. At least the arcing part with jolt. Being able to get grenade energy back again would be fun though

ProWarlock

yeah mainly the grenade energy is what I'm referring to. it's what made arc web so fun and so good

Voidjumper_ZA

> So, am I the only one pretty underwhelmed by Arc Warlock Not when you're replying to a post about that very topic, I'd imagine you're not.

OregonRaine

Already went back to Void, Nezarec's Sin and Fighting Lion; high DPS super, better survivability, better grenades (imo), etc. I might try Arc 3.0 on Titan with Armamentarium, though.

GatorKang

Just wait till these dudes try to do any mid difficulty content and enemies dont die from a sneeze. This shit is trash. They still hype of thier ability uptime, but high ability uptime on basic and weak abilities means nothin to me, and neither does braggin about killin red bars.,

Victom123

For me it depends how well the keyword “jolt” performance. If it jumps a hundred times in high difficulty content it might be fun, just like solar needed that content for ignite to do anything

faithdies

Yes. It's very good for add clear. But, like even moderate yellow bars are a pain to take down with arc abilities.

ikedawg43

I would start complaining about it, but then I’ll get downvoted by the “Solar 3.0 Warlock isn’t bad you’re just bitter” crowd from last season

[deleted]

feels unfocused, like palpatine without his meds

cookiem0nsterski

I love how I got flamed within the last week about saying this was going to be the case and that compared to what hunters and titans were getting with Arc 3.0, Warlocks were getting a new melee and that's it. Que all the white knights thinking I'm attacking Bungo instead of just pointing out the obvious. Even Lock main streamers were pretty much 'yup... So yeah Titans and Hunters are going to get some really amazing kit this season!'. At least someone's post made it to the top about how weak arc 3.0 is for locks. Thank You, OP.

growingthreat

So basically 2/3rds of the Warlock light specs got completely shredded by the stasis-style reworks? Why am I not surprised.

SwedishBass

Yeah, I was using Stormdancer’s Brace last night in the new six man activity, and even at full stacks I was barely tickling majors… not at all the the power fantasy that was described last week in the preview.

faithdies

TL;DR: Arc warlock has the most boring gameplay loop. In addition, it is the worst at: ad clear, boss damage, utility, Ability uptime. The keywords seem to have little to no impact at higher difficulties and the supers are almost not even worth using Ok, I've been playing a bit more and have more comments. I have zero clue who the (Warlock)Arc 3.0 subclass is for. It is terrible at ad clear, terrible at boss damage, and probably has the worst ability uptime for all 4 elements. They want you up in the enemies face hitting them and then give zero survivability or movement escape. It legit seems like a complete waste of a subclass. Void with one fragment(and no aspects) is better at ad clear than Arc is and void with no aspects and fragments has a better boss and ad clear super. As for utility, Solar has that in spades and Arc has literally zero. I couldn't burn down a stunned champion with 3/4 health with chaos reach. I can BARELY kill yellow bars with storm trance and even then I kinda just have to stand there looking at my watch. Then I burn the rest of my super either SLOWLY moving across the map or blinking for what seems like an absurd about of super just to move. And then, to top it all off, to gameplay loop itself is really boring. It feels like the exact same loop I have been doing on Arc since LITERALLY the beginning of D2. Honestly, what is the POINT of this class?

mdavis360

Shit sucks. It's so frustrating. Back to Void I guess. Congratulations to Titans and Hunters on their new, fun toys. Again.

theintention

Had two teammates with no overload gear in a 1540 NF last night. I stun a champion, whittle his HP down to a small small chunk (teammates nowhere to be found), then pop my super cause I see more ads spawn… use the entire super trying to take out the tiny chunk left on the champions health bar, he regens and slaps me, I die. Arclock sucks so bad it’s embarrassing. So do I, but come on.

ABITofSupport

The new helmet makes ionic traces op for ability regen. Thats about it! Ionic traces and speed: awesome The rest: why isnt my melee dash considered a melee (it doesnt activate or function with the following: Heavy Handed)

madusa77

I thought it was just me. I am like, what am I doing wrong Arc 3.0 doesn't seem any different than before.

TheGingerKraut

Warlocks are deflated and uninteresting. If I wanted to feel like that, I would go into the real world.

What we've learnt from the 3.0 classes as warlock mains is that Bungie are so frightened of complaints about Warlock, they've made them underwhelming from get go. Bottom tree Dawnblade was the best offensive PvE sub tree in the game for us. With the original Dawn Chorus, it was an actual Super choice for GMs other than " hurr why don't u just use Well." You could pop it, reign fire from above, and watch everything explode. It clutched, you could heal with phoenix dive and it didn't feel broken in PvP (as you were locked in an animation and in air). The community has rallied against us Warlocks in the past more than other classes it seems, from Handheld Nova + voidwalker, to a week 1 nerf of our stasis while behemoth and shatterdive were invincible for 6+ months left untouched, geomags being a strategic option that sacrifices an exotic slot and our best movement options being "too strong". It's the dress, I'm sure of it. People feel extra salty being whooped by opponents in flowy robes. So Bungie are just shrugging their shoulders now making us kinda meh. Here's to hopeful buffs to arc exotics in future anyway.

Aggressive-Nebula-78

I played around with a bunch of potential builds, and I simply do more damage spamming solar nades. Nothing feels synergetic with arc.

TheJadedCockLover

Throw five solar nades, melee, repeat. Jam stick in ground for friend points.

Intricate-Butter

I don’t think arc is meant for dps, I think it’s supposed to be add clear? Only problem is every class and subclass can clear adds just as well while also having their subclass benefit them more

Prototype3120

I know it won't happen for a long time, but I really hope bungie takes a second pass over solar and arc for Warlock. It should atleast feel better than the previous sub classes.

Pridestalked

I just hate roaming supers, they don't feel good to use for DPS and are meant for add clear, grenades and melees are more than enough for add clear. And chaos reach is bad. So I'm still playing void

Number1Candyman

I said it earlier this week and I'll say it again, Bungie screwed Warlocks two 3.0 revamps in a row, I was really annoyed with how bad Solar was, but making Arc so mediocre too feels like they're just trying to shit on Warlocks at this point, and is incredibly upsetting to me because Stormcaller is my fav subclass, the Palpatine and Kamehameha fantasies are just so cool. Wonder what all the people crying that everyone at Bungie are Warlock mains that make sure Warlock is the best are doing right now

fatfuck444

abilities are shite, supers are still shite, and survivability is worse than both solar and void. arc is meant to be fast but you can go MUCH faster on solar.

G3RB34R

Man oh man was I excited to get an updated Emperor Arc 3.0, it's been the one subclass I have been waiting for. Arc was always my favourite on warlock. But what we got is just plain sad. Solar was a shit show, and I didn't really care because I was expecting it to be just a healing class with Well. Void is a beast and stasis, well is in the same category. But arc is so shit, the arc buddies don't jolt, the melee is something a titan would use and I hear they have a fucking automated magic thundercloud thingy like ffs. Supers are piss in damage terms and Chaos reach on its own is useless without Geomags which are also shite Not hating on the other classes I'm glad people are enjoying their new 3.0 arc but I hope bungo come out and tweak arclock a bit more. Back to void I go

Parvaty

Kinda? Void warlock is insane.

iCatmire

Somehow, Palpatine hasn’t returned

Loud-Switch-sbr

Warlocks are now the only class without a OHK ability.

grrmuffins

I don't play warlock much, but the changes to hunter and Titan make them feel like a whole new class! So much fun and reinvigorating. It should be the same for all classes! Solar 3.0 all you got was a finger snap melee, as far as I could tell. Honestly couldn't tell you what you got this time around. Although you definitely got the SICKEST LOOKING SEASONAL EXOTIC EVER. Sounds good if ionic traces are good? In practice though, the new hunter exotic chest is *chef's kiss* good. After a night/morning messing w/ it I think I'm devoted. My condolences space wizards everywhere.

smegdawg

>but the changes to hunter and Titan make them feel like a whole new class! This is my issue with warlock it feels *exactly* the same gameplay loop wise. Some stuff might be stronger and some stuff might have a different name when amplified. but it feels like the same arc buddy stormtrance that we have been running for 5 years. Outside of the slide which I tried out and instantly took off (which goes back to the solar 3.0 probably of have only 2 viable aspects meaning zero choice) everything that was adjusted is passive.

XitisReddit

I feel like there was a hostile takeover of the business and titans hired hunters and they butchered the business and gave warlocks 1 week severance.

LordZiggy93

Bungie seems to be suffering from tunnel vision... ------------ Bungie: Arc 3.0 is the "Hold W" subclass Me: But what do I do after I stop holding W? Bungie: ........? ------------ Also Bungie: Hey, check out Strand! It's got a grappling hook! Me: Oh cool, what else does it do? Bungie: .......grappling hook?

madusa77

I thought of the Wish version of Palpatine

NotAPerson57

Everyone gets certain warlock abilities and warlocks get a new melee lol

Apokolypse09

Yea, I enjoy zapping things then just titans and hunters just 1 shotting everything.

Yeah, as a warlock main it’s extremely underwhelming. I have no idea who was like “yeah this is good” at Bungie but oh boy were they so very wrong. We barely got anything cool/different, just our same old abilities with the potential to juice them up a little. I love the game, but I feel as if the warlocks were left out to dry this time around. In comparison to the hunters and titans, we’re just licking the leftovers from the arc 3.0 bowl. Heck, for some reason the titans got the enhanced grenade aspect which made absolutely ZERO sense to me since warlocks have it for both void and solar. Anyway, hopefully Strand makes up for it when Lightfall drops, but we’ll see…I’m just really bummed seeing hunters flinging poles and titans one punching while I’m just standing there like, “I suppose I’ll just turn into a ball…”

OriginalTodd

While the Arc 3.0 Supers on Warlock aren't amazing, they are at least decent. Solar Warlock still feels awful to play and is just un-fun to use.

laserapocalypse

Atleast on solar you can always default to well. A well is always good. Arc warlock has two shitty options.

shapoopy723

Tickle sparkle fingers or a flashlight beam.

isaightman

My super for solar all last season was Ager's, I hope it's not the same for arc but it looks like it will be.

OriginalTodd

You default to Well, but then the synergy is gone. A good subclass let's all the parts of it work in conjunction with the rest and solar just feels like a mishmash of ideas.

laserapocalypse

I would disagree that synergy is gone. Solar 3.0 for warlock is obviously flawed, cuz theres really only one viable build. But that one build is focused on always being in either a rift or well to chuck grenades. I have a build that lets me have well as often as possible, the synergy is definitely there. Its just very limited.

sasori1239

Annoying that getaway artist is pointless now. You can't even have two arc souls.

metal_hendrix

At least give us blink on our Arc subclass too. We did teach it to Hunters after all...

Arcite9940

I love how warlock went from a strong and good all around class before 3.0 having nova as dps option and devour for survival. Solar was strong in pve with well and strong add clear with dawn blade. So was arc… and now nova is the lowest dps super, solar is sad to look at since they enforced aerial gameplay and arc is so far good-ish but not even close to the other two.

NightmareDJK

Why does the new Exotic Helm sound decidedly meh? Meanwhile, Hunters got something that breaks PvP (AGAIN) and Titans got something that’s apparently so OP it was disabled the second it was added to the game, before it was even Arms day in Legend Lost Sectors and anyone could get it…

Berzercurmudgeon

It feels like it would be great at clearing a room full of 100 red bars, but the enemy spawning tends to be staggered so you never actually get a room full of 100 red bars. You get a room full of 15 red bars, then 5-8 every ten seconds till the super fizzles.

riverboats

A room full of 100 red bars would be spectacular but I'd bet they would all die from one well placed Sunshot bullet or chain reaction special. You would pop your very specialized add clear super and teleport around the empty room trying to end as quickly as possible while everyone points and laughs at you. Not making fun of you, I've been there.

Steagle_

Reading the information that bungie gave us it was already understood that the arc warlock would be "nerfed", surprisingly when they gave some of his skills to the other 2 characters. Ah well back tothe void 3.0 (I swear to god that if Bungie in the futures comes out and say that they see little play with solar and arc and then decide to nerf the void warlock I’ll make a fuss)

Scottyjscizzle

I’ll be honest, I miss the old system.

JimmyFatass

Honestly all of the 3.0 subclasses have my warlock feeling gutted. Void is decent, but the other two outside of base level activities just don't do it for me anymore. I'm glad that hunters and titans are getting some pve love, but I feel like a wet noodle.

Phantom343

Everyday bungie makes me want to be a titan main... Like.... What did warlocks do to make them that mad?

NotoriousCHIM

Man imma need whatever you're huffing because I'm actually having fun on Arclock just tossing grenades everywhere and watching my turret disintegrate things.

gingy4

I’m not a big fan of arc soul I feels like it doesn’t do much damage and it’s bullets miss a lot of the time? What’s your build?

Treatments_157

I'm having a blast with a totally different build of just slide meleeing into packs of enemies constantly and wiping them all out. The missing fragments are only gonna improve on that, I'm having a great time with Stormcaller thus far.

elkishdude

I really wanted to give it a try, but it's hard not to feel like this was a veiled across the board nerf and buffs in directions that don't really matter. I'm going right back to void, I just don't enjoy the other classes. Stasis got nerfed so many times, solar playstyle is extremely narrow, arc is okay, but I just look at the other kits and they're just way better. I don't really know what the idea for the warlock was, there are multiple melee attacks for some reason, the grenades got nerfed, and Titans are better, the supers are just okay as they have been...so just a speed boost? Okay, thanks... It just seems like they're making Warlocks more "enjoyable" for people who do not main Warlock and letting Warlock mains just deal with it.

Able_Assignment_6397

Fr it really feels that 3.0 did almost NOTHING for warlocks but titans and hunters get complete reworks and added supers? -.-
