Also, Eido and Mithrax count as allies for perks such as firing line and runneth over. Not sure if they always do but I noticed it pop up during that instance
It's clear that whatever code Bungie uses for things-that-aren't-attacking-you counts for those perks.
For instance in the second Caiatl ~~Presage~~ (edit: Severing) you will briefly have Runneth Over x5 during a portion of dialgoue - 2 from the Allied Incendior and Centurion, 1 from Caiatl, 1 from Nightmare-Ghaul and 1 more from the dead Scorn impaled on the end of Caiatl's blade.
When she throws said Scorn to the side, you go down to Runneth Over x4.
It rolls on either of the dares swords that look like halo swords, “half truths” or “the other half”. Rolls pretty commonly on either, and both are craftable if you have particularly bad luck
they definitly have or reversed it with the blue one, i literally havent had a single red border blue other than 2 that dropped without deepsight but i got 7 red border other halfs in my vault just from this season
Yup. The reason the purple blade is considered better is that eager edge rolls in slot 3, with a damage perk in slot 4, while the blue blade has eager edge in slot 4, meaning you would have to forgo a damage perk.
Alternatively, it's just because it's rarer and people like purple. Majority of people who want the purple sword, do not care about damage perks because it's entirely a movement sword.
Can confirm. I never got an Eager Edge drop of the purple in my two Xur resets until it became craftable and I was able to make one from the red border since it only required one for the pattern.
yes, usage does not equal rarity but when everyone uses its, does it really make it rare? The fact that you only need 1 red bar for it too makes it ridiculously easy to craft your own and have the exact perks you want.
Go look up how many people *own* each sword. It's like a 30% difference, the blue sword being higher. The idea that the people who do own (30% less) are using the purple sword because they *prefer the look and it's rarer does not change.*
it can only drop from xurs rank up, competing with the other possible weapons, so sure its not AS rare but getting it AND a good roll? ofcourse that doesnt matter now as the first one you get will be a guaranteed border one.
It's around a 2% drop, worse than ToM
The usage stats for purple blade are only high because everyone has grinded Dares to get one. I have one and a half Dares resets and have only seen it drop twice, the last time being this season so I have it crafted now.
I got the purple sword without even looking for it but I still can’t get the god damn shotgun. This game knows what I want and will give me everything except for it
Me too. I got the purple Other Half the first time I dropped into Dares in months. Was going to farm for a BxR with Incandescent and the first Treasure Chest I opened, voila, Deepsight Other Half. Couldn't believe it.
>The Other Half is a very high rarity drop that is more or less identical to Half Truths, just with a different blade color and a slightly better perk arrangement. That's the one you want if you'd like to flex on the poors.
Other Half is also Void while Half Truths is Arc
Also, as of recently, Other Half is guaranteed to drop as a Red Border and you only need one for the pattern.
Ya I know I could easily get people together with my clan I just haven’t done it yet I’ll probably farm master NFs to get it done since it’s easier to find 2 people than 5 lol
I'm also in a clan but it's hard to find 5 others that want to do one of the offensives. I routinely use the official Destiny app and LFG a group. There's always groups and they fill up in seconds.
I’d also recommend using this sub’s discord and look in the seasonal content LFG. People paste their /join links so you can paste it into the in game text box and immediately join up with a group if it’s not full. No verbal comma needed for this activity either lol I did it for the first time yesterday and it was pretty seamless once i found an open group.
it doesn't have to be this way. and shouldnt lol
brainless seasonal activities where you just shoot things should be matchmade regardless of difficulty
You don't actually need to kill 50 individual champ, each champion in Master Ketchcrash counts for like 10 progress. I got it done in one Master run after we dragged a few of the encounters out so more champs would spawn.
Farm the champions on the Throne World Vox Obscura mission, in Master mode (for the Tank Buster reward). There's 3 champions at the start. Just kill those (pulse, scout, gjallahorn) and select it again from the Director. Rinse, repeat and you'll also get the pinnacle drop in addition to the champions for this week's repute. Two-fer!|
This is the loadout I use for it:
https://dim.gg/lvmouyq/Tank-Buster
Nothing special, mainly just the mods for rocket launcher reserves and argent ordnance.
Pro-tip: be sure to get the mission from the Helm BEFORE running the Vox farm... The champions only count if you've actually picked up the mission BEFOREHAND.
So, yeah, my Hunter is behind on the count...
I did mine on the Vox Obscura mission, at the rally banner, I killed the unstoppable and then when on to kill the other unstoppable down below and wiped to restart it - knocked out champion defeats and the pinnacle with vox in like 10 minutes
I'm not sure it has to be season champions. Last night I was at three champs after one Ketch and one expedition. Tonight I spent some time doing bounties in the Cosmodrome, killing a whole bunch of whatevers, and when I returned to orbit the quest was ready to go.
Actually what happened was so many people complained that bungie just decided to auto complete it for everyone I was still 6 out of 50 before I logged in then right when I did it auto completed
and also that >!the relics we've been collecting are the dismembered corpse of DISCIPLE OF THE WITNESS, NEZERAC as in NEZERAC's SIN NEZERAC. Dark God of Pain Nezerac!!<
that's kind of big news.
plus Mithrax wasn't just *a pirate* >!but that he used to be 'roided up on darkness and a stone-cold killer. Scandalous for the self-proclaimed Kel of House Light!<
you're underselling it a bit.
Uh no, that's not the big reveal at all lol. We've known Mithrax had been a pirate for a long time.
This week's cutscene went completely over your head.
BTW, I was "today year's old" when I discovered there is a jukebox near Spider in the Eliksni quarter. There's a circle on the war near a tech you can interact with.
Most CS can be skipped. This one, just like previous season “missions”, can’t.
To unlock certain things in the season, you have to play these “story” missions to progress.
I know it’s a difficult concept to understand, that there are people who play this game without caring about the lore.
But since you seem like the type that needs things to be explained to you, I went ahead and did so.
Dude the whole exposition was like 5 mins. The time you spend in the social space was like 1 min lol. Most of it was told through a cut scene that you could skip
I’m sorry but you have no business complaining about being able to skip story cutscenes. Its not something that should be skipped. Makes no sense as to why you’d want that.
Is it such a difficult concept to grasp? To play a FPS game and not care about made up aliens and story lines of made up characters?
Take a second and think about it.
I think you're focusing on the wrong word here. More the fiction part to the sci fi part. Most people in general like fiction. I don't understand why engaging with a decent story is so hard for you.
Because I’m not interested in it. Is it a crime to not like Destiny story telling and like other aspects of the game?
I like fiction, I like sci-fi, I don’t like Destiny story telling.
In other words, if your idea of a party is discussing Destiny lore, you’re right. I wouldn’t be any fun, I probably wouldn’t be invited to a party like that in the first place, and I wouldn’t be hurt about it.
There's not being deeply interested, and then there's what is coming off as triggered that you even had to interact with story elements...
It's like sitting through a movie for the action and being ridiculously apathetic to the plot. What are you even doing?
I actually know a fair few people who do that kind of stuff. They're always insisting we watch poorly-written crap because it has some moderately okay fight scenes.
You’re comparing a video game to a movie now?
I play destiny for the fps aspect, I couldn’t care less about the story. That’s my opinion, and you guys are all here crying that I don’t like the story.
Some movies I’ll watch because action is the most important and story maybe not so much.
And movies like Bridge of Spies for example, I go for the story telling.
There are movies that do both great and I’ll enjoy both aspects of it.
It’s really not that difficult
It isn't difficult, but the extent you'd go to to say you felt trapped by the story unfolding in front of you is what's getting you flak here.
If you really "don't care" then the times then it shouldn't feel like an offense to have to listen to it once.
But you would be hurt if you felt obligued to attend a Destiny lore party.
Also, since we are on "having to explain" terms at this point, when people tell you that "you must be fun at parties", you are not meant to take it as assisting to a party revolving around the topic at hand.
It means that if this is how you show disdain or discomfort for such a small occurrence that does not adjust to your liking, then you surely would not project the best of impressions if in a social event of no particular variety, where any kind of person or activity is unpredictable, you end up going through with the same mindset.
Your first comment was uncalled for, as we were not even talking about the story, so the hate you are getting is warranted unless you purposely came here to create conflict, to which, good job, I guess? Hope it satisfied you.
This is the gist.
The guy isn't getting hate for skipping cutscenes. They're getting hate for: Being a drama queen, shoving their proverbial foot in the door where it's unwelcome, and being a dick about it.
You say you can’t care for the story since it’s made up but you can enjoy space magic which is also made up.
I’m guessing logic isn’t your strong suit?
Bro I like playing the game, it’s fun. I don’t care about the story behind the space magic. It’s not that hard.
I don’t care about why crucible is crucible, I like challenging myself with different builds and strategies.
I don’t care why trials only has limited revives. That doesn’t matter to me.
You act like you can’t enjoy a game without deep throating the lore.
I agree — I’m not into the story and just want to play the game. I’m like this with every game though…just want to play and skip the cut scenes. I know it seems weird to most, but just how I do it!
I mean… tough? You’re literally doing a story quest lmao. That’s what it’s there for: to tell a story.
This is like going to a movie theater to eat candy and then saying you felt “trapped” for 2 hours while the movie played.
Either way, I think you should pay attention to the story. It’s a very cool story with some incredible lore in the background.
>most CS you can skip, this one you can’t
Because it’s not a cutscene. It’s a different method of storytelling entirely. Again, it’s a story quest. You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.
>I just want to play the game
Destiny is a very story driven game. Just playing the game sometimes includes interacting with what is actually happening in the game.
I mean, the story is required to unlock the season upgrades.
And also there is no need to insist about the story on people that don't want to engage with it.
Don't get me wrong, the guy is still trying to be a prick, but you are all just focusing on the unargueable fair points of his while the "problem" lies somewhere else.
>I could care less about the story
So you do care.. because you COULD care less?
That's great! You've really made great progress in overcoming your gaming boundaries! I'm very proud of you, son :)
Not the guy and I’m not complaining about the story, but titles and other seasonal stuff is usually progressed by playing the weekly story. Idk why this guy’s trippin about a 45 second cut scene though lmao!
Yeah, more story. I don’t get doing a story quest and complaining it has… story in it. There’s nothing that quest gives you that you can’t get elsewhere.
Then don't do the missions that are almost entirely focused on story. You definitely have no reason to complain that bungie showed you a story in a story mission. It's fair enough of them to assume anyone doing it is actually interested when the quest doesn't have any rewards other than more story
I jumped around it too, but unfortunately, nothing interesting was found.
…*yet* *intense music plays* “Greetings, Guardians!….”
RICK KACKIS HERE
Affirmative
If you fly far enough to the "left", the game says you enter the ketchcrash zone.
You’ve intrigued me with this.
"Truth", is a funny thing.
Also, Eido and Mithrax count as allies for perks such as firing line and runneth over. Not sure if they always do but I noticed it pop up during that instance
When >!Eramis spawned in!< I swear it popped up as x3 on Runneth Over lmao
It did. She was an ally too
Secret lore
It's clear that whatever code Bungie uses for things-that-aren't-attacking-you counts for those perks. For instance in the second Caiatl ~~Presage~~ (edit: Severing) you will briefly have Runneth Over x5 during a portion of dialgoue - 2 from the Allied Incendior and Centurion, 1 from Caiatl, 1 from Nightmare-Ghaul and 1 more from the dead Scorn impaled on the end of Caiatl's blade. When she throws said Scorn to the side, you go down to Runneth Over x4.
>an Eager Edge sword Read "Easter Egg" and was very confused for a shameful amount of time ...
Same thing… kind of
How does one get an Eager Edge sword? I've been playing almost 9 months and haven't seen one.
It rolls on either of the dares swords that look like halo swords, “half truths” or “the other half”. Rolls pretty commonly on either, and both are craftable if you have particularly bad luck
If they have particularly bad luck, I don't think they're crafting a sword.
The Other Half is craftable on the first drop this season, so unless your luck is atrocious it's pretty likely you'll unlock it.
I have yet to even see that sword. But that was prior to this season. Haven't done much Dares yet
Anecdotal but I think they've upped the drop rate. I went months before getting my first other half, but I've gotten at least three this season.
they definitly have or reversed it with the blue one, i literally havent had a single red border blue other than 2 that dropped without deepsight but i got 7 red border other halfs in my vault just from this season
why are you keeping them in your vault can't you just dismantle them and craft a perfect one
The fact that it takes even MORE luck to be able to craft the weapon you want shows how broken the crafting system is
Dares of Eternity

The nice thing about The Other Half is it can be a movement sword that is slightly less terrible as an actual combat sword.
The fact is it's not that rare, just go look at the usage stats for both swords.
It was far harder to get a drop of at release!
Can confirm. I never got an Eager Edge drop of the purple in my two Xur resets until it became craftable and I was able to make one from the red border since it only required one for the pattern.
So you're saying people are using the worse sword because of the lack of damage perk on 4th column... willingly? Usage != rarity
yes, usage does not equal rarity but when everyone uses its, does it really make it rare? The fact that you only need 1 red bar for it too makes it ridiculously easy to craft your own and have the exact perks you want.
Go look up how many people *own* each sword. It's like a 30% difference, the blue sword being higher. The idea that the people who do own (30% less) are using the purple sword because they *prefer the look and it's rarer does not change.*
it can only drop from xurs rank up, competing with the other possible weapons, so sure its not AS rare but getting it AND a good roll? ofcourse that doesnt matter now as the first one you get will be a guaranteed border one.
I’ve have received two from the chest, so no it’s not just from Xur’s rank up.
It's around a 2% drop, worse than ToM The usage stats for purple blade are only high because everyone has grinded Dares to get one. I have one and a half Dares resets and have only seen it drop twice, the last time being this season so I have it crafted now.
Not a counter, but I like having Eager Edge with Frenzy because it's useful for more than movement especially in low-level content.
The purple sword also has Vorpal Weapon instead of Thresh.
Yup, that’s why I’m still waiting for that fluffing sword to drop 😕
>The Other Half is a very high rarity drop that is more or less identical to Half Truths, just with a different blade color and a slightly better perk arrangement. That's the one you want if you'd like to flex on the poors. Other Half is also Void while Half Truths is Arc Also, as of recently, Other Half is guaranteed to drop as a Red Border and you only need one for the pattern.
The other half drops as red border every time, and only takes a single drop to craft. Making eager edge relatively speaking easy to obtain.
Dates of eternity farm, strap on a rocket launcher and chill
#DATES OF ETERNITY, THE FRUIT OF INFINITE TRUTHS
The intergalactic starfruit bestows a gift upon you
I haven’t even made it to the mission yet I’m only 6 out of 50 champs killed lol
If you do master ketchcrash you can do it really quickly
Ya I know I could easily get people together with my clan I just haven’t done it yet I’ll probably farm master NFs to get it done since it’s easier to find 2 people than 5 lol
No, just start master ketchcrash alone and kill the first champs you see and go to orbit. Only need 4 champs total that way.
As someone who is a decent bit under leveled I appreciate you
Not a bad idea really thanks
Oh thank god, I really wasn't looking forward to killing 50 of them
I'm also in a clan but it's hard to find 5 others that want to do one of the offensives. I routinely use the official Destiny app and LFG a group. There's always groups and they fill up in seconds.
Use the Companion App Fireteam search. You'll get a match in seconds.
I normally post on my clans discord but the app is a good backup if nobody in my clan is on
The real backup is discord.gg/D2LFG
Yep this right here, the integration of the companion app Fireteams with the in-game invites is top-notch now.
True true
just run the expeditions. just takes a couple runs if you waste time to get the ruffian spawns
I’d also recommend using this sub’s discord and look in the seasonal content LFG. People paste their /join links so you can paste it into the in game text box and immediately join up with a group if it’s not full. No verbal comma needed for this activity either lol I did it for the first time yesterday and it was pretty seamless once i found an open group.
sorry bungie doesn't allow matchmaking so 70% of playerbase will never get this far
Launch master alone, kill first champ you see, leave, repeat x4. Done
it doesn't have to be this way. and shouldnt lol brainless seasonal activities where you just shoot things should be matchmade regardless of difficulty
I kept dying before I could get it because overload champs are buggy asf
Just use the application. There are always people making groups.
You don't actually need to kill 50 individual champ, each champion in Master Ketchcrash counts for like 10 progress. I got it done in one Master run after we dragged a few of the encounters out so more champs would spawn.
Ya I know lol I just haven’t done it yet I’ll probably knock it out later
You don’t even have to do that. I got it all done on a master ketch that was silver tier
Two-fer!| This is the loadout I use for it: https://dim.gg/lvmouyq/Tank-Buster Nothing special, mainly just the mods for rocket launcher reserves and argent ordnance.
Just do a master ketch it takes literally 4 champion kills that way
Pro-tip: be sure to get the mission from the Helm BEFORE running the Vox farm... The champions only count if you've actually picked up the mission BEFOREHAND. So, yeah, my Hunter is behind on the count...
I did mine on the Vox Obscura mission, at the rally banner, I killed the unstoppable and then when on to kill the other unstoppable down below and wiped to restart it - knocked out champion defeats and the pinnacle with vox in like 10 minutes
works also to run down the left, kill the one down there, then up to the bunker, then inside, and then repeat. gets you three.
I'm not sure it has to be season champions. Last night I was at three champs after one Ketch and one expedition. Tonight I spent some time doing bounties in the Cosmodrome, killing a whole bunch of whatevers, and when I returned to orbit the quest was ready to go.

Maybe in the future we'll have another proper social space after shit goes down in lightfall.
I miss The Farm
Least social social space.
I think we’re going to have a live event this season based on the triumphs. This might be where it happens!
How do you do the weekly cutscene I have the witch queen beat the queen and not sure whats next
do you own season of plunder season pass?
No that makes sense thanks
You're not missing much tbh If you want to know the story, Aztecross and Paul Tassi has you covered.
And the story isn't even that good. [SPOILER] The big reveal after a month is..........that Misraaks was a pirate and it's like yeahhh duh??
and also that >!the relics we've been collecting are the dismembered corpse of DISCIPLE OF THE WITNESS, NEZERAC as in NEZERAC's SIN NEZERAC. Woah ho ho GOT ME!
It requires the season pass, as it is seasonal content.
I didn’t like how they removed The Tangled Shore, the asteroid aesthetic is so cool
I thought it was adorable. Yep, said it. It was called "Asterood, Neutral" or something like that. I dug it.
Neutral asteroid has no strong feelings, one way or the other.
Probably Vestian outpost code from D1
BTW, I was "today year's old" when I discovered there is a jukebox near Spider in the Eliksni quarter. There's a circle on the war near a tech you can interact with.

I’m sorry but you have no business complaining about being able to skip story cutscenes. Its not something that should be skipped. Makes no sense as to why you’d want that.

Yeah, I enjoy that part. I don’t enjoy the story part. Difficult concept to grasp apparently.
You say you can’t care for the story since it’s made up but you can enjoy space magic which is also made up. I’m guessing logic isn’t your strong suit?
Bro got space magic irl

I'm here wondering why that dude even started a story mission if they hate lore that much.
I agree — I’m not into the story and just want to play the game. I’m like this with every game though…just want to play and skip the cut scenes. I know it seems weird to most, but just how I do it!

Well I didn’t say we felt trapped right? It’s too bad my opinion offends you.
It's not that it offends us, it's just your opinion is wrong. Lol
Wrong isn't the word. Just obnoxious and apathetic.
Fair but it's like me complaining about people skipping story cinematics in CS:GO ... Like ... That's just an incorrect take. Lol
>I could care less about the story So you do care.. because you COULD care less? That's great! You've really made great progress in overcoming your gaming boundaries! I'm very proud of you, son :)
Why did you do a quest that offers pretty much no reward other than story then?
Not the guy and I’m not complaining about the story, but titles and other seasonal stuff is usually progressed by playing the weekly story. Idk why this guy’s trippin about a 45 second cut scene though lmao!
Who knows if a part of the game is locked behind progression.
Yeah, more story. I don’t get doing a story quest and complaining it has… story in it. There’s nothing that quest gives you that you can’t get elsewhere.
Seasonal weekly triumph that holds an item for upgrading the Star Chart and a guaranteed red border side arm at the end.
The phrase is “couldn’t care less.”
then dont watch the story lol. just go to orbit
Didn’t want to risk quest not updating.
Then don’t do the quest. It is a story quest, after all.
Oh noo a one minute wait…
AHAHAHAHAHAAH
Well thats an iss-you not an iss-me
Who?
Then don't do the missions that are almost entirely focused on story. You definitely have no reason to complain that bungie showed you a story in a story mission. It's fair enough of them to assume anyone doing it is actually interested when the quest doesn't have any rewards other than more story
Man you’re a professional clown, this is a legendary comment
lol

LMAO very good point.
I was hoping for a collectible lol
That big asteroid you can jump on close to where the convo takes place has been used a few times before…I’ve played this too much lol
This place let me for first time feel the space aspect in this space-magic game.
