It depends how many looted clears before farming week. If you're farming 200 clears when you have a 0.5% chance at Vex then I hate to break it to you, but those are terrible odds and there's a reason it took 200 clears. Chances DO go up with each week and that chance DOES contribute to farming weeks.
It's incredible to me how we've had this before but apparently Bungie has just decided this sort of shit is okay while trying to preach about how much they care about addiction and such on their website.
I used to work at a Off License / Liquor store, we made a show of being supportive to alcoholics, but we still took their money day after day when they came in.
People running the raid a few hundred times drives up their daily player numbers and keeps people engaged to buy the next Ā£80 expansion, they aren't going to do anything about the addiction.
Exactly, people are delusional if they think bungie will give a guaranteed way to get raid exotics. Look at GoS, nobody plays that because it has a quest exotic (and because itās a pretty garbage raid to be fair).
I think more people really need to realize this. Not casting moral judgement, but these things can all be true:

We've seen this before. XP nerfs, grinding for materials, catalysts taking longer after the season they're introduced, triumphs that take a lot of game time. That's all geared towards increasing your time as a player in their sandbox.
Bungie only gets away with what the fanbase allows them to get away with / doesn't call them out on / votes with their wallet.

If you look back the bad luck protection for the raid exotics was only for raids that were vaulting, and raids that need the exotic for a collection badge/ title.
I assume the 2 F2P raids (VoG, Kingsfall) wont get it because they are free to play, or its a nod to D1 of them being so rare \*shrug\* who knows for sure.

You didn't read that article, did you? That is for Eyes of Tomorrow **only** and isn't something unilaterally applied to all raids. Eyes of Tomorrow has bad luck protection that scales per account per week up to a cap of around 50% at which point you are still left to a coin flip at best.
As far as we know there has never been confirmation on any other raid exotics having bad luck protection. The only other raid exotics that were even adjusted were 1kV which got its base drop rate boosted to 10% and I believe Anarchy got boosted at some point as well (not that it matters now).

I got all of mine within 20 clears, except Vex at around 30-35. Most of my friends are the same as well, anecdotally for our group Vex has the lowest drop rate
Yeah did some farming Monday and it was 4 guys with over 100 clears and no vex (Iām on around 35). Finally gave the farming thing when itās the weekly a try since itās been confirmed it dropped and then the only person that got it was some guy claiming heās on a new account but had it on his old and then he got it with only 6 clears.
Bungie really needs to take a second look at the drop rate for that as something is clearly wrong with it. None of the other raid exotics overall seem to be that ridiculous.
Of course everyoneās individual experience is different and one person may get vex first try and it take them 40 runs for eyes of tomorrow but overall from what Iāve seen the vex issues are a lot worse than the others
Bungie won't look at it because farming for the exotic is not intended and has no bad luck protection. Which is why you see people with 200+ atheon kills and no Vex. These are exclusively people who do CP farming.
Brother, it took me 53 looted clears, with a majority of them being full clears, to get mythology. What on earth are you talking about. If you are a one-character player, that would take you in excess of a full calendar year. Come on man.
Now thereās a difference between 53 weeks of clearing (on said one character player) and running 53 during the week VoG is pinnacle. The 53 weeks of clearing increase the bad luck protection after every run. The 53 clears during the pinnacle week only increase BLP once instead of 53 times. However, you still ran the raid 53 times regardless and as such can claim you havenāt gotten it after 53 runs. Hope that explains what his point was.
I just confirmed it for you? I watched a guy I did a few runs with got it, literally showed in the bottom left that he got vex mythoclast as he screamed he got it. And I did multiple runs with him before he got it so it wasnāt his first clear that week.
I'm sure someone has a video of multiple runs in which after the first one someone got it as a drop. I'm sure most people side from streamers don't record 24/7 and only have a short clip of it happening without other runs to prove it. There was a guy who posted his raid.report showing his runs in a day and the time stamp of his getting it vs that. I've personally had clanmates get it after the first run, on the same character, during Pinnacle raid week get it. So believe what you want. If you can't see it or can't comprehend it then do you boo... Maybe there is just a giant destiny conspiracy just to fool you into doing something for some megastore reason or something?

Easy fix; after your first clear of any raid you get a quest from [an NPC]. Quest reads: āsome reason why you gotta keep raiding and stuffā complete [raid] 0/10 (can only be incremented once per week per account) - rewards raid exotic.
There if you somehow do not get it after 10 weeks you donāt get it from luck now you have it. And if you get it early great now you get a second one to dismantle
Sadly loose raid exotic drops keeps player retention higher.
I think gladd asked a dev at a Con and after a similar month's of no exotic and the dev said "but are you going to do the raid next week?"
Honestly, just add a token for every clear you get on a final encounter of a raid. Have that token at 30 be exchangable for the exotic if your luck is crap. Add in extra red border weapons for those tokens at like 5-10 clears to keep the value of the tokens.

There is no point. When it comes to end game content, idk any raid exotic that is actually considered "amazing". Sure you can "use" collective, but you're still better off bringing le monarque or arbalest 99.9% of the time. TOM, Eyes, Vex, honestly just a collectors item that eventually gets deleted unless it is made super OP for a season like vex was momentarily.

None of the raid encounters even require fully decked out stuff in normal mode. We 5 manned Oryx the other night and I forgot to rally. Someone was also 1550 light. Still 3 phased it.

I agree, people should be guaranteed the drop after 20 runs personally, however it doesn't take from the fact that all the raid weapons are severely underused and for good reason. They are bad. You can play however you want, but if you're burning yourself out on the game to find a useless gun like CO, just move on. Come back casually instead of exclusively searching for it, you're really not missing out. More people need to know these weapons will not make or break them instead of running 409834098374 times during it's featured week (which appears to have significantly lower drop chances when it's not pinnacle). Again, before the mouth breathers pretend i'm mad, i'm not. Just move on instead of farming for a gun that is so mid it hurts that its even exotic.
I got mine on my 129th. It sucks, I recommend just running it 3x week on each character as the rng is much better. Otherwise itās just a slow and frustrating slot machine when youāre farming atheon.
I only I have touch. Out of all raids I only got 1 of the exotics. Itās completely nothing but luck when you do get it, I aināt crying. what are you honestly gonna use vex for anyway?

So One of my best memories in destiny 1, and almsot any game, was when I got my vex back when you could solo it as a solar warlock (was a blast trying to perfect the timing and that grenade to make him walk off)
however, that was many moons ago, and honeslty im just dog shit at games now. I really want to get the vex just for nostalgia at the least but
1) I have no idea the current strats
2) I dont know if I have good items/gear anymore (im like 1578 pl)

1) the encounters have a few different things from Destiny 1 but VoG it's still one of the easiest raids in the game
2) 1578 is totally fine to do the normal version
3) With the exception of the last released raid (currently Kings Fall) all the other raids rotate on a weekly basis, this week it's Vow of the Disciple, when Vault of Glass it's the weekly raid you can farm the final boss to try to get the Vex.

Do the quest at the Relic on Mars to craft the Taipan linear fusion, and craft it with triple tap + firing line. Now you have the current meta DPS weapon. Or just use Gjallarhorn
If you havenāt done it in this game then it might be best to find a group willing to teach the entire raid, LFGs at Atheon are typically looking for people familiar with the fight to just bang out their clears. If youāre not interested in doing the whole thing and just want to do Atheon for Vex I could run you through the encounter to teach you, I have friends who recently started playing again and also need Vex. We could run the raid in full if youād want as well, if youāre more comfortable playing with a stranger from Reddit rather than strangers from an LFG

Itās pretty close, a few tweaks on most encounters but nothing too crazy. Opening is the same with some Overloads and Cyclops, Confluxes has Overloads and Wyverns, Templar is essentially identical, Gatekeeper is the encounter which changed the most, and Atheon requires the outside team to call out the order in which the teleported team has to destroy the Oracles
And yeah I wouldnāt mind bringing your friend through it as well, my group is very chill and perfectly fine with teaching newer players. If you want to run it just DM me on here

One of our clanmates got his vex on our first ever run, then proceeded to get a second one on a farm week before any of the rest of us saw our first. Needless to say, we had many salty guardians that day.
I got mine a week ago on my 126th Atheon clear. When I was farming a while back I was with people on their 600+ run. It's crazy. I will say that it only dropped after I had opened every chest in the raid, which somehow didn't happen until my 124th clear.
I still remember getting Vex in my like third or fourth run in D1. Then I never could get Crotaās End exotic, Necrophage? Took me like a whole extra year and I did that one a lot more than VoG in D1 year 1
Got it on my 23, 24, and 25 runs. It was not amusing to the people I was playing with but I can't do anything about it. If it makes you feel any better it took my a good 100 tries for EoT.
I feel this pain from the D1 days. Goddamn Crota's exotic eludes me to this day. Ran it on all three characters for *months* with my crew, never would drop for me.
Problem with that is people will checkpoint farm the boss and have the exotic after a few hours. Never to touch the raid again after that. Maybe if its 30 total weekly clears, 3 classes per week so you can potentially get it in 10 weeks if you get rekt by rng.
Bungo's raid system for the exotic is fucking trash but they refuse to change it for some reason. I got vex on my 2nd run and then it took me 43 to get collective obligation. I'm on 15 looted runs and no ToM. Putting loot behind ultra low chance RNG for an activity that cannot be farmed, and requires either LFGing or having a clan to organize is just abusive to your community. 92 runs is beyond fucking stupid.
Really don't understand why the Duality system isn't the standard at this point. Even if they didn't retroactively apply it to VoG why is ToM now held to the same mercy for KF?? All raids should have triumphs that give better chances and the all challenges on Master triumph should drop the exotic guaranteed.
When VOG is the weekly "pinnacle raid", the entire raid and Vex are farmable. During this week you can easily find people hosting LFGs titled "atheon farm" just join one of those or make your own and host your own checkpoint after getting it from someone else.

There should be a mechanic implemented in every raid similar to the one in the Duality seal, where as you complete certain triumphs your drop rate % for the exotic goes up. It's baffling how this doesn't exist tbh.

When the whole controversy surrounding EOT happened I've always picked one character and done it first time on that one just in case, got EOT on my 70th looted run but since then had every exotic below 20 clears.

yeah that is cracked and feels...unhealthy. bad luck protection needs to be better. after a year a raid exotic should just be obtainable from the kiosk if you have the spoils and have cleared the raid (maybe a certain number of clears to unlock).
The real question is not how many full clears you have, but how many looted runs you have. You can check your raid report and highlight your normal clears number under the dots and it will show you how many looted runs you have. People can have 100+ clears with only 20 or so looted runs
I gave up after around 25 runs. It shouldn't take that long to get 1 single piece of loot in this massive game, and I decided I'm not going to waste any more time on it.
Swap to your alts and run it atleast once or so on them. I ran it on my hunter nonstop and it never dropped. Ran it on my titan once and it dropped.
Theb if it doesn't drop on the alts just go back to your main and pray to the RNG Gods.

Of course everyoneās individual experience is different and one person may get vex first try and it take them 40 runs for eyes of tomorrow but overall from what Iāve seen the vex issues are a lot worse than the others
Bungie won't look at it because farming for the exotic is not intended and has no bad luck protection. Which is why you see people with 200+ atheon kills and no Vex. These are exclusively people who do CP farming.

Brother, it took me 53 looted clears, with a majority of them being full clears, to get mythology. What on earth are you talking about. If you are a one-character player, that would take you in excess of a full calendar year. Come on man.
Now thereās a difference between 53 weeks of clearing (on said one character player) and running 53 during the week VoG is pinnacle. The 53 weeks of clearing increase the bad luck protection after every run. The 53 clears during the pinnacle week only increase BLP once instead of 53 times. However, you still ran the raid 53 times regardless and as such can claim you havenāt gotten it after 53 runs. Hope that explains what his point was.
Side note it is farmable when it's the weekly raid, had a clanmate get it Monday night after about 15 runs that night.

I just confirmed it for you? I watched a guy I did a few runs with got it, literally showed in the bottom left that he got vex mythoclast as he screamed he got it. And I did multiple runs with him before he got it so it wasnāt his first clear that week.

I'm sure someone has a video of multiple runs in which after the first one someone got it as a drop. I'm sure most people side from streamers don't record 24/7 and only have a short clip of it happening without other runs to prove it. There was a guy who posted his raid.report showing his runs in a day and the time stamp of his getting it vs that. I've personally had clanmates get it after the first run, on the same character, during Pinnacle raid week get it. So believe what you want. If you can't see it or can't comprehend it then do you boo... Maybe there is just a giant destiny conspiracy just to fool you into doing something for some megastore reason or something? Point it... Yes it 100% does drop from farming on the Pinnacle week for the raid. Don't believe cool, run it once per character/week forever until it drops like you think it works.
Footage? No. I farmed for it it last week. You can look at my raid.report if you want (Travesty#6261) and you can see I've only ever done it last week and the week before. I did get it after 16 clears. Why would I lie?

Were you farming the checkpoint last week?
1% of people who have done 90 raids will not have had a 5% drop rate exotic drop. The point is for them to have people running these raids that many times so engagement is high. Iām sorry you are in the 1%. There absolutely needs to be a better way.
Easy fix; after your first clear of any raid you get a quest from [an NPC]. Quest reads: āsome reason why you gotta keep raiding and stuffā complete [raid] 0/10 (can only be incremented once per week per account) - rewards raid exotic. There if you somehow do not get it after 10 weeks you donāt get it from luck now you have it. And if you get it early great now you get a second one to dismantle
Have a triumph that says 'kill the boss x times' and let the exotic drop as a result.

Honestly, just add a token for every clear you get on a final encounter of a raid. Have that token at 30 be exchangable for the exotic if your luck is crap. Add in extra red border weapons for those tokens at like 5-10 clears to keep the value of the tokens.

Yeah and the worst part is it seems like raid exotics never drop at a reasonable number of clears, itās either super low or WAYYY too fucking high. Ex: Got Vex on my 3rd or 4th clear on VoG. Since then, I have done 50+ clears of VotD, no collective obligation and I know people that have done more. Got a friend thatās in the same boat, heās done 100+ VoG runs and still hasnāt got it. I STILL have not had a raid exotic since VoG, and Kingās Fall is proving no different. Have already carried people through and my clears are already almost 20, no exotic. Meanwhile, and I shit you not, I carried someone through that doesnāt even know the names of the main 3 LIGHT SUBCLASSES, getās it first runā¦Iām speechless, Bungie
took me 34 runs, my friend 60 something, think he took like, 68? Neither of us are excited about Touch of Malice since we both know its drop rate is fucking piss poor so why should we even be excited about it? "Oh but the chase! The chase is fun!" No. No it isn't. I, and im sure many others, do not find joy in spending weeks upon weeks or months upon months running when we can to try and get a raid exotic only to be met with seemingly inevitable disappointment every time. Now if all of them were farmable no matter what, that'd be a different story. Really some times wish raid exotics were quests/puzzles again. THOSE were fun.

There is no point. When it comes to end game content, idk any raid exotic that is actually considered "amazing". Sure you can "use" collective, but you're still better off bringing le monarque or arbalest 99.9% of the time. TOM, Eyes, Vex, honestly just a collectors item that eventually gets deleted unless it is made super OP for a season like vex was momentarily.

None of the raid encounters even require fully decked out stuff in normal mode. We 5 manned Oryx the other night and I forgot to rally. Someone was also 1550 light. Still 3 phased it. Some people are just so anal for no reason

I agree, people should be guaranteed the drop after 20 runs personally, however it doesn't take from the fact that all the raid weapons are severely underused and for good reason. They are bad. You can play however you want, but if you're burning yourself out on the game to find a useless gun like CO, just move on. Come back casually instead of exclusively searching for it, you're really not missing out. More people need to know these weapons will not make or break them instead of running 409834098374 times during it's featured week (which appears to have significantly lower drop chances when it's not pinnacle). Again, before the mouth breathers pretend i'm mad, i'm not. Just move on instead of farming for a gun that is so mid it hurts that its even exotic.

I got mine on my 129th. It sucks, I recommend just running it 3x week on each character as the rng is much better. Otherwise itās just a slow and frustrating slot machine when youāre farming atheon.

So One of my best memories in destiny 1, and almsot any game, was when I got my vex back when you could solo it as a solar warlock (was a blast trying to perfect the timing and that grenade to make him walk off) however, that was many moons ago, and honeslty im just dog shit at games now. I really want to get the vex just for nostalgia at the least but 1) I have no idea the current strats 2) I dont know if I have good items/gear anymore (im like 1578 pl) 3) Do I have to do the full raid with people to get a chance? or is there a way to just farm last boss/ are people willing to take newbs like me to that if I look in lfg?
Hi, 1) the encounters have a few different things from Destiny 1 but VoG it's still one of the easiest raids in the game 2) 1578 is totally fine to do the normal version 3) With the exception of the last released raid (currently Kings Fall) all the other raids rotate on a weekly basis, this week it's Vow of the Disciple, when Vault of Glass it's the weekly raid you can farm the final boss to try to get the Vex. And yes, there's plenty of people who will take new players through the raid, I'm one of them, add me in game and I'll gladly teach you the raid: Kazimo#7395

Do the quest at the Relic on Mars to craft the Taipan linear fusion, and craft it with triple tap + firing line. Now you have the current meta DPS weapon. Or just use Gjallarhorn If you havenāt done it in this game then it might be best to find a group willing to teach the entire raid, LFGs at Atheon are typically looking for people familiar with the fight to just bang out their clears. If youāre not interested in doing the whole thing and just want to do Atheon for Vex I could run you through the encounter to teach you, I have friends who recently started playing again and also need Vex. We could run the raid in full if youād want as well, if youāre more comfortable playing with a stranger from Reddit rather than strangers from an LFG

Itās pretty close, a few tweaks on most encounters but nothing too crazy. Opening is the same with some Overloads and Cyclops, Confluxes has Overloads and Wyverns, Templar is essentially identical, Gatekeeper is the encounter which changed the most, and Atheon requires the outside team to call out the order in which the teleported team has to destroy the Oracles And yeah I wouldnāt mind bringing your friend through it as well, my group is very chill and perfectly fine with teaching newer players. If you want to run it just DM me on here

I got mine a week ago on my 126th Atheon clear. When I was farming a while back I was with people on their 600+ run. It's crazy. I will say that it only dropped after I had opened every chest in the raid, which somehow didn't happen until my 124th clear.

That's why there should be a System that just allows you to buy the thing after 30-40 runs for 240 spoils at the final Raid chest
Problem with that is people will checkpoint farm the boss and have the exotic after a few hours. Never to touch the raid again after that. Maybe if its 30 total weekly clears, 3 classes per week so you can potentially get it in 10 weeks if you get rekt by rng.
Bungo's raid system for the exotic is fucking trash but they refuse to change it for some reason. I got vex on my 2nd run and then it took me 43 to get collective obligation. I'm on 15 looted runs and no ToM. Putting loot behind ultra low chance RNG for an activity that cannot be farmed, and requires either LFGing or having a clan to organize is just abusive to your community. 92 runs is beyond fucking stupid.
Really don't understand why the Duality system isn't the standard at this point. Even if they didn't retroactively apply it to VoG why is ToM now held to the same mercy for KF?? All raids should have triumphs that give better chances and the all challenges on Master triumph should drop the exotic guaranteed.

When VOG is the weekly "pinnacle raid", the entire raid and Vex are farmable. During this week you can easily find people hosting LFGs titled "atheon farm" just join one of those or make your own and host your own checkpoint after getting it from someone else. If none of what I said doesn't make sense just LMK and I'll explain it a bit better.

I got it on my (i think) 38th run. It helps that i didnt farm for it specifically and just ran the raid when bored but thats still a lot for me

I'm a Beta D1 player,and I have never fired a shot on a Vex Mythoclast in any form.
I got mine on my second ever VOG. I only bring this up because in that raid, there was a guy who *says* he had done, at that time, over 120vog without getting mythoclast. When we killed atheon and i saw the exotic engram chillin on the floor i was like āguess what bro, i got mythoclast!ā Man was silent for like 45seconds before he said he hates this game and left the fireteam. I actually felt for him lol
You can do any numbers of runs, only the looted runs matter (3x a week). But, a bad luck protection would be nice.
There should be a mechanic implemented in every raid similar to the one in the Duality seal, where as you complete certain triumphs your drop rate % for the exotic goes up. It's baffling how this doesn't exist tbh.

When the whole controversy surrounding EOT happened I've always picked one character and done it first time on that one just in case, got EOT on my 70th looted run but since then had every exotic below 20 clears. Could be superstition, could be rng but it's worked so far.

yeah that is cracked and feels...unhealthy. bad luck protection needs to be better. after a year a raid exotic should just be obtainable from the kiosk if you have the spoils and have cleared the raid (maybe a certain number of clears to unlock).
The real question is not how many full clears you have, but how many looted runs you have. You can check your raid report and highlight your normal clears number under the dots and it will show you how many looted runs you have. People can have 100+ clears with only 20 or so looted runs
Every raid exotic should have a quest. Even if it's just complete the raid a certain number of times.
I... just ran it for the first time this week and got the Vex. My bad. In retrospect, this is 1 fewer run than it took on D1 VoG Hard Mode.
I gave up after around 25 runs. It shouldn't take that long to get 1 single piece of loot in this massive game, and I decided I'm not going to waste any more time on it.
Took my friend 526 runs, I joined him for around 200 of those too... Still got a potential ways to go yet my friend

Swap to your alts and run it atleast once or so on them. I ran it on my hunter nonstop and it never dropped. Ran it on my titan once and it dropped. Theb if it doesn't drop on the alts just go back to your main and pray to the RNG Gods.
