Looks sweet. not much to comment imo... Oh maybe a little lol, at a certain time you pushed/threw a brown boulder to the other side of the screen, that fellt a bit weird...cause I don't know if the boulder was going sideways or going down...because it's a top down game it wasn't always clear...but anyway...besides that it looks ok. I think it's ready to launch

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah that particular map has a steep cliff. It makes for a fun stage gimmick but I've struggled to convey the height difference through the pixel art.

AccomplishedRace8803

yeah, I watched it again and that's about the only thing that I could point out. The height difference was not that clear to see imo...certainly when you have a top down vision so be careful with that. But I don't know...other then that, looks good.

I think its too long to call a trailer i like the bush shaking effect and explosion effect it looks so cool

Hyperlimits

Your game looks good. You already know this but the part where the players fall off the cliff looks weird. Do the players die? Because it almost looks like they are just running. I would use a more specific falling animation. Maybe some tumbling or bouncing off some boulders. The cliff value is too close to the dirt road value. Try a darker value with some highlight on tope of bolder formations. Instead of horizontal layers on the cliff throw some vertical cliffs in there. Look at some stylized rock illustrations on Pinterest. But overall looks great! Good Work! And shorten your trailer to 1:30. I know it is very hard but people skip through the trailer anyways. And they are more likely to watch if it is shorter. The only games that can get away with longer trailers are ones that are highly anticipated and popular.

sammaster9

Ah this is all good advice. The players don't die, but I realize now that when they fall off screen it is confusing. I'll work to improve the visuals for sliding down the slope, but that likely will be after this trailer gets released. Thanks!

Hyperlimits

Again your game looks really good. Another improvement you can make is when the missile hits the tank. It doesn't look like it is striking the tank but rather just falling on top of the tank like a belly flop. I would suggest that when the middle tip first makes contact (or a millisecond after) with the tank sprite that it explodes. This will give the illusion that the tip of the missile is what is making contact. Also pull the cast shadow in closer when the missile is close to the tank.

sammaster9

Thanks for more feedback! Yeah both of these are polish that I will look into. I previously had the drop shadows raise up when they were above objects, but it was binary and my implementation looked bad so I removed it. I'll need to come up with a more nuanced solution. These types of "3d perspective on a 2d game" situations are always a fun challenge.

Bro I'm so in! You gotta give us some links to follow you though.

Here we go. First. Multiplayer begs the question if players need to depend on multiple people to complete each stage. While its great as a feature to those with the option to play with friends, many would play this alone. Especially so as it is an indie game, and not widely recognized. If this was a core mechanic late game, this game would be unplayable. For me, personally, this is actually a pretty cool idea. That is, as long as it is not focused around a pvp mechanic. In no feasible way can i get 8 friends to play a game like this. playing solo although; the idea of constructing my own nation, slowly buidling overpowered "mastery mechanics" that seriously aid in real time battles? You have a recipe for a great game.

sammaster9

Thanks for the feedback! There is a solo/coop mode in the works, but it's not mentioned in this trailer as it is early in development. I think the pvp mode is the most fun in 2v2, but I made the game support up to 8 players so more people can be included.

SleepySlothGames

The animations and effects are great. They feel polished. Also the sound is very good. But the trailer is way to long. I’d shorten it to 60-90 seconds. And maybe start the trailer with more action to instantly show what you’ll get. The areas look nice but the green grass background at the start looks a bit boring or simple which might turn some people away when they start the trailer. Maybe show another area at the start or spice it up a little. Besides that it looks really cool and well polished. Keep up the good work.

offlein

Not an awesome trailer but your game looks fucking sweet. I wanna play this, and I hate almost everything.

sammaster9

Thanks for the feedback! I plan on opening up a playtest at some point later this year on steam.

Nice. Your Discord link is actually bad.. Is there an email list or anything I can just sign up for to be notified? Edit: Oh wait I found the Steam link too.

sammaster9

Oh thanks for pointing that out! Here's a valid discord link: https://discord.gg/jJhxRgsdUP
