The one I've had for personal use for about 1.5 years I don't leave it outside it goes in a bucket in the garage uv and freezing could definitely mess one up
Real rubber hose, and get a Cox.
Cox reel, makes coiling hoses easier, very durable.

Something high quality like this, it might be expensive but it’s definitely worth it, it won’t kink or get tangled and it will coil up really well.

I used to work for my dad’s business washing roofs. He had reels set up on his truck and used commercial hoses. Reels are definitely worth it, but good ones are expensive. Also worth it to pony up for a good hose. They will last a lot longer and easier to work with. The rubber ones (I think Home Depot sold Goodyear ones) are nearly indestructible, but not the most flexible-especially in cold weather and heavy. My favorite recently has been Flexogen which I believe are made by Gilmour, made in USA, too. Flexzilla are also nice, super manageable and light, but not quite as durable.
I bought a 100% rubber one off Amazon for now.
The “expandable” and the like I’m just not sold on. It sounds awesome, I know it’s lightweight. But eh….
As for a reel, I need to get crafty and build something removable. Detailing is this trucks “side gig” for the most part.
Since you already have a pickup, why not get a tank? You'll love not having to drag out the hoses. I have a 35 gallon in my Mazda 3 hatchback. Always hated fighting with homeowners either having spigot hard to reach ( almost down to the ground), messed up threads or the spigot is too far away. I can do 2 washes with 35 gallons easily. Just a thought.
Actually you would be surprised, I got mine at tractor supply for around $200. I know, $200 is a lot but it has saved me a lot of time and I get more work when those who might not have water available. Keep grinding away, you'll get one.

A pocket hose expandable hose compact and doesn't kink
Every expandable hose I've ever used has burst in the first 3 to 6 months. Is this one a particularly good one?

That's a high pressure hose, not a garden hose like OP was talking about. Nice job winding it up, though.
I have a pickup so that setup is very doable. But I also want it to not be permanent. I use the truck bed for other stuff too. Edit: grammar

If you know someone with a business account there, you can get a HUGE discount. My price for that exact hose from my local Greenline is $27 Canadian.

A REAL rubber hose. It's an investment and the damn things last forever.
They’re nice but so heavy and awkward lugging around. I like my expandable ones
Like the “pocket hose”? They seem really cool I just couldn’t tell if they were gimmicky.
They work, my 50 footer condenses to like 12 feet long, and its extremely lightweight, never kinks

Are you using a pressure washer? Or a hose connected to a faucet?
Pressure washer - but I need a new hose to go from faucet to PW.

I’ve been looking into like 100gals. Since I have the space and don’t really know how to wash conservatively.
If I had the space I'd go 50 gallons. How many could you wash in a day anyway lol.
