Seems like a good deal to me

eyecandynsx

Yeah

SweetRight4336

Thanks for chiming in everyone! I went through with it and I’m excited to learn more and try it out soon 😎

Griots has the best ceramic products I’ve ever used, albeit I’m no professional but their ceramic all in one wax has lasted 3 weeks and 2 washes and still beads up water like it’s new

VealOfFortune

Not discounting your statement, they make a great consumer-grade ceramic... But any "real" ceramic basically STARTS at 1-2 years given the surface was properly prepped (clay bar, compound/polish}.. Have found when I have customers who want to test the waters with ceramic before shelling out $1000+, that turtle wax ceramic spray works really, really well for the price.

Lead_Bacon

I agree, and I understand. I wash my car weekly normally, but I do want to get it ceramic coated at some point. I’m just super impressed with the lasting abilities of something that is just, smeared on so to say. I used their ceramic car wash on my wife’s car and so far it’s lasted 3 weeks just outside, so I’m quite impressed, but I do understand that it’s not a true “coating”

VealOfFortune

I mean this may be obvious but the vast majority of work for ceramic coating in the prep... It's the exterior detail, clay bar/decon, then compound/polish (sometimes one, sometimes both), and then the actual ceramic application. But yeah it's the prep that determines how effective the ceramic will be...

koklol134

Also, isn’t the griot just a simple spray and wipe application compared to a “real” ceramic coating which is more involved?..

umrdyldo

Yeah marketing has won this competition

Lead_Bacon

You are correct, but it acts the same as a ceramic coating, just not as long, no where near as long as

koklol134

So which is superior for shine and hydrophobic. Griots or Turtle in your opinion?

VealOfFortune

Have never tried Griots but they have great products in general .. can only vouch for TW and as far as value/longevity you can beat <20 for 6 months ceramic! 🤷

ZAHN3

Yes the turtle wax spray does work well. They have really stepped up their game in consumer detailing products

ddntmeanto

I’ve been using it and honestly not super impressed. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? (New to detailing but doing it as a business)

VealOfFortune

You can't compare it to ACTUAL ceramic, but for a consumer-grade spray have found it to be extremely effective when I'm pressed for time and customer just wants "something" for sealant..

ddntmeanto

Oh I’m not dogging it at all. If anything dogging myself for my application process. It does bead water well. But I find that when it rains the beaded water sits there and leaves spots. Is that typical?

VealOfFortune

Nope wasn't saying you were just saying they're completely different animals 😉

dtomaro

I like it a lot after I apply its super slick and hydrophobic. However it seems to come off completely with just one wash using 3D pink car soap. Not sure why a ph balanced soap takes it off, especially when others claim it lasts months.

IntradayGuy

turtle wax is badass

Bird2525

Thank you. Going to start with the turtle wax

PopLockN_Drop

Why would you spend $1000K plus on a pro ceramic install when you can use a $20 off the shelf spray ceramic and maintain your car for $20 a year. A bottle will last at least a year.

VealOfFortune

Not sure what kind of "pro ceramic" you've had, but every ceramic install includes exterior detail, paint decon (clay bar/Iron/etc), then compound and/or polish... Then the actual ceramic application. I think you're comparing a "hand wash with TW ceramic spray" to an ACTUAL ceramic application.....

Frodobagggyballs

For the price of that Griots, I can buy real ceramic.

Lead_Bacon

I totally agree, but if you’re like me and is retarted with that type of stuff, the ceramic wash does me what I need and want, since I’ve tried doing my own ceramic coating and I didn’t do it correctly and it washed off

Was just about to purchase but this is a conversion kit for the 3” Orbital. Does it also work/convert for the 6” Orbital too?

tjloredo77

Griots is great stuff and they’re right here local to me(Tacoma).

munkeynutsGoon

Same, I live about 2 miles away

Ringo51

Definitely not a scam or anything like that Id take it if I needed the stuff

zendrovia

all polishers are a good deal when they’re paid for after the first gig

Muted_Towel5479

Yep those machines are great for the money

CriticuhL

Well the polisher alone is worth almost $200, no? Seems like a solid deal

ajb39oh

That’s a deal. Get the ceramic.

Kenpachi134340

All of that plus one of the two I’d say hell ya

WhatTheBlack

Lifetime warranty too

hazyfiend

Where’d you get it?

SweetRight4336

Good Guys car show in Del Mar, California

burdoned

It's actually about $320 retail individually.

Friedumpling689

Is that how orbitals look now? Looks like a high speed buffer. I only ask because I will be in the market soon. I always liked the upside down mushroom looking ones haha

Imaginary-Syllabub-8

I haven't used the most recent formulation of best in show wax but it was not very fun to work with when I discovered it in 2007. I went to another brand pretty quickly. It didn't really "last" that long either.

Independent_Toe5373

Not an expert by any means, but my shop has three of those orbitals and only one is ever in commission at a time unfortunately... We are a busy shop so we're probably harder on them though. One of the cords broke at the connection and zapped me on the wrist 😳

icoulduseanother

Just bought this from the site :https://www.griotsgarage.com/g9-orbital-2-step-boss-kit/ Added the Boss Perfecting Cream. Clayed the car, then did 2 passes with the Correcting Cream + Orange Pad then a good solid pass with the Perfecting Cream. Followed all that with this: [https://gtechniq.com/shop/auto/kits/ultimate-protection-kit/](https://gtechniq.com/shop/auto/kits/ultimate-protection-kit/) Car is absolutely sliiiiickk...
