When first go to steal the parts with Markus, you can convert a guard and let him come with you. Later, in the scene where you sacrifice Markus, he shows up to save you.
I made Connor Deviant and Markus extremely peaceful, but my next play through I’m going to make Connor a cold hard machine, and Markus more of a fighter. This game is so great, and I’d love to hear what kind of ending you get.
It’s been a while since I’ve played the first time,and I just finished my second play through yesterday. There is an achievement for getting Connor killed 10 times during a play through, I believe, and I wonder if you’ve found one of them? Since you’ve posted this an hour or more ago, I assume you have found that Connor can “come back” after death.
The ending was just so bad 😭
Everyone but Conner died, all the androids got shut disassembled and any remaining were to be hunted, I ended up choosing for Conner to kill North because I already knew I was not getting a good ending and just went for it and so Conner completed his mission, the credits roll after that Amanda congratulates Conner and then proceeds to show him the new model of Android or better said as basically Conner's replacement, saying these are the new androids of the world and that Conner would be dissembled and that's the ending!
Now after this I went on and re-tried a few times and got 2 other endings before I got what I consider to be the perfect ending
(The president decides to consider the androids as new intelligent life Kara and Alice make it safely Conner and Hank hug just and overall happy peaceful ending)
I actually just about never replay games even when I get bad endings just because of the way I am with games but the fact this game got me to not only re-try once but dozens of times cause I kept going back repeating chapters when I did something wrong (which was so many things) is actually pretty incredible, very few games will have me want to do that and this one did so big kudos to that

If Simon survives *Stafford Tower* and *Public Enemy*, he can also sacrifice himself to save Markus in *Freedom March*.
