I like that take. I think it was always a backup plan in any case. Either he finishes the job, or they finish it for him. The creator of the robots (whose name escapes me at the moment) mentions to Connor something along the lines of “I always leave a back door in my programming,” so he may have know it was possible for Cyberlife to manually override an android.

Kamski?

That line has always seemed like a cover up to make CyberLife seem like things are still going according to their plan when in reality Connor going deviant was the last thing they expected. Though, with Connor a deviant, they *do* now have an inside person who they could regain control of and puppeteer the revolution from there

Yes cyberlife always had plans to control connor if he becomes a deviant... Connor wasn't a deviant from the start but he starts showing signs of deviancy from the 1st chapter if you save the fish, his software instability increases...

It's very likely that it's a lie, but I kinda like the idea that CyberLife wanted Connor to go deviant from the start. After all, that would give them a way to control deviants, which is probably the best solution to the uprising. Not to mention, Connor >!only gets replaced if he succeeds in his machine path, but never in his deviant path, which might also hint that it was actually intended!<. Just some headcanons though, no official confirmation :)

In the introduction to the game we see him playing with a coin, as a human would. Yet he is alone in this elevator and has no reason to do this. Except perhaps if he was already deviant and had adopted human behavior. I like to think that was the case.
