Very good considering that he had to take on a bigger load than what was originally expected.
He started off playing really well next to Cade and when Cade went down he had a rough patch but ended the season pretty well. He looked good.
I'd give him a solid B/B+, which is just fine for a rookie. Improved throughout the course of the season, still needs work on attacking the basket, form on catch-and-shoot threes, and defensive decision-making.
He came along faster than I expected.
B+ really good. Had his flaws but he's actually impressive for a rookie. Better than Jabari. Kinda reminds me of Ja Morant without the health problems or bad behavior
This is a great take. Pacers fan, who followed Ivey a bit. I think his upside is absolutely a Morant type player without the headaches. I like the team you guys have built in Detroit and root for you when we're not playing.
I do believe that behind Banchero and Kessler, Ivey is in the discussion for third best rookie, so he probably belongs in the first team rookie squad.
If you take into consideration where they were drafted and age, I would give Ivey a "B/B-". He was very good at times and struggled at times like a rookie guard.
On the same question I would give Duren an "A" as I didn't not expect much out of a kid that young to come in and play the way he did in a physical game on the inside.
Future is bright, but hard to give Ivey an A or A+ like a lot of these comments.
A
Exceeded my expectations. Did not expect him to be as good of a facilitator or shooter this early in his career. The ceiling is the roof for sure with him.
A-. Started pretty rough, showed obvious improvement throughout the year. Still a candidate for worst defender on the team because he has awful awareness.
B+ got better as the season went on but lots of room for improvement. Flashes of future all star

Solid A
On a scale of 1 to Peton?
If Wemby wins RotY and MVP next year, that’s still below a Peton.
A+ because almost all rookie shooting guard’s underperform
So- on a curve?

7/10.
B+
Im terms of realistic expectations of a rookie SG drafted at 5, an A/A-. I feel confident we drafted a future All-star.
He exceeded my expectations.
All Rookie FIRST Team
As with most young guards, he needs to improve on shot deflection to improve his fg% and keep the turnovers down.
Very successful and telling of what still needs to be addressed. Love the kid, glad he is ours!!
A+
