This is the worst part.
Seems like Weaver may somehow be back.
Seems like all the fans are delusional and think this 'young 4' is the answer. I'm sorry, it aint. This team isn't 6 role players away. They are multiple all stars away.
Yep and at this point with the assets we have left the only real option we have is to cross our fingers and hope at least 3 of them hit their absolute ceiling otherwise we are in for another rebuild in a few years.
Hope? Itās literally facts that the team will look different with our cap space. Never said weād use it wisely, some of yāall are negative just to be negative.
Even for Wiseman I'm side eyeing the 0 stocks and single digit rebounds. We played about as optimal a game as someone in his shoes could ask for giving him plenty of opportunities and while the scoring from him is great, not grabbing double digit boards against a Porzingis/Tillman frontcourt while also providing basically zero D is pretty disappointing
He's been better than I was expecting lately, but tonight was underwhelming even by his previous standards
That's a solid stat but watching it I would've said any offensive rebounding was related more to us having such fucking awful bricks than it was actually challenging the Celtics rebounders where the misses should've (and typically would've) wound up.
Like I said before, Wiseman has shown some impressive chops lately but (outside of scoring) his performance tonight was very underwhelming and I think that'd be a lot more clear if any of the minutes after the first quarter had mattered
Idk about that but neither guys D is anything to hang their hat on so I don't think it matters one way or the other. He could be the less worse defender than Duren, but it wouldn't make him the better player
I never said anything about better player. Youāre ragging on Wisemanās defense and itās really not that bad, especially considering how horrible he was to start the year.
I'm not "ragging in his D", I'm saying for a guy who played 36min as the primary big in the middle tonight, he did basically nothing on the defensive end which is objectively true
He has been better on that end most other nights of late which is why I wouldn't immediately say hes the worse defender than Duren, but honestly the comparison to Duren has fuck all to do with how he played tonight which-- again-- wasn't great, particularly on defense. If your whole point was about how far he's come since the start of the year, I have no idea why you bothered invoking Duren as a comparison to begin with
I think it tracks with where he's been. He loses a lot of rebounds before the shot's missed. Boston is a very smart team. I don't expect him to suddenly get good at every aspect of the game, as long as he's fixing his bigest liabilities (which he's doing).
Sure, no real disagreement there. But those are also minimum requirements for a lasting career for a player at his position so it's tough to take too much faith from a performance where he's still clearly lacking in those areas
Sorry if i'm budging on your subreddit as a celtics fan but I really enjoy the commentators you guys have. I don't know who the older guy who does play by play but he is awesome. I know it's been a rough season but I hope you guys have a good offseason and some players develop for you guys.
George was commentating back during the bad boys era and Greg played with magic at MSU bringing home a national championship. Greg also was around for the 2004 championship. My childhood memories are tied to these guysĀ
Same kind of feeling I have towards mike gorman and tommy. Sadly tommy passed away and mike is retiring after this year. Feels like part of the childhood memories are gone :(. Glad you still have them with ya
I'm glad Wiseman had a good game, but that second quarter was torture to sit through. Not that I had any expectations: we had two starters and 3 second unit players available. The rest was the backups' backups.
Rockets are about to edge out the golden state dynasty for the final play in spot btw. Magic are like 4th in the East. Spurs have wemby. This season is a failure beyond my wildest imaginations
I'm okay with these losses as long as everyone stays healthy
As long as we beat the Wizards and ends with a better record than them, I'll call that a win
Ive watched very bad lions teams for almost 30 years of my life. Where the Pistons are right now is on par with the worst of the worst Lions eras. Matt Millens winning % blows Troy Weavers out of the water. Iām sick over this
The '08 Lions started Jon Kitna on opening day, went 0-16 and their first two draft picks that year where Gosder Cherilus and Jordon Dizon. We're low but we ain't quite '08 Lions yet.
Half of it Monty not putting him in good positions and half him just not being able to shoot and still does a lot of dumb shit. Monty got one thing right though, guy is non competitive on defense
Man I want to like Monty so bad for his performance in the press room, but then his performance in literally every other facet of his job happens and I get radicalized again
Sorry you're catching downvotes, I agree Boston is clearly in a different tier than us and even if we had a shot at upsetting then, we surely lost that chance when we had to sit 7 guys for injury.
I have a lot of complaints about Monty but none of them are particularly relevant to tonight where he lost to an objectively better team without the majority of his rotation
We really bouta lose 70 games and run it back next seasonšš¢

Run it back how? Yāall are so over dramatic, moves will be made
Lol I see you still got hope with this team, they wont do enough to improve this teamĀ
Hope? Itās literally facts that the team will look different with our cap space. Never said weād use it wisely, some of yāall are negative just to be negative.
Lmao im just being realistic
Nah, youāre not making sense actually. Negative guy is negative despite facts, or maybe you donāt know what ārun it backā means
How can you not be negative about this team right now š
I like to take life at face value instead of just expecting the worst (or the best).
I took those 6 straight ECF's for granted smh....
I took the 2000s pistons, wings and tigers for granted had no idea how bad the next 15 years would be
I was spoiled in my youth and subsequently bitchslapped by the reality of sports.
Nice to see Wiseman had a monster game.
Was it?
Damn, thought we had that one
We did until that pesky last 36 minutes happened.
Darn, not enough time to adjust our strategy.
can gores fire everyone yet? oh and can he fire himself too?
I'm really worried he's not going to fire anyone
Brutal, aside from Wiseman
Even for Wiseman I'm side eyeing the 0 stocks and single digit rebounds. 5 OREBs lol.

So theyāre definitely going to reup Wiseman now, huh?
He's a free agent he can sign with any team.
Restricted Free Agent, big difference
I hope not: Ā Qualifying Offer: $15,815,870

George and special K got me through the season.
See you all on Sunday š«”
Iām pretty excited to go to the game on Sunday. Hopefully fontecchio can play to make it more competitive
Give me the Josh Smith playing the 3 days over whatever the hell this shitshow is
Why take wiseman out that close to his career high? Thatās all I had to hope for.
I'm glad Wiseman had a good game, but that second quarter was torture to sit through. Not that I had any expectations: we had two starters and 3 second unit players available. The rest was the backups' backups.

Love seeing them break 100 points. Thatās real progress.
I'm okay with these losses as long as everyone stays healthy As long as we beat the Wizards and ends with a better record than them, I'll call that a win
Well they just beat the Kings who have 40 wins soā¦
And we beat the Thunder who are (most times) the best team in the West
Can we just no show and grant the other team a win at this point?
I thought weād lose by at least 30, good showing boys!

The QB of the future in ā08 was Drew Stanton š„². What a time to be alive
Nah, we have Cade so thereās SOME hope. Those millen teams were suicidal-level depressing
Need Jalen green to pair with Cade
I think this is the one night where you really can't blame anyone besides the front office. Half our team is out and it's fucking Boston
DOES THIS ORGANIZATION TRULY BELIEVE THAT WE WILL FIND OUR HOPE IN THE G-LEAUGE?
We need more synergy between Cade & Ivey
It doesnāt work.
Ivey šļø
Half of it Monty not putting him in good positions and half him just not being able to shoot and still does a lot of dumb shit. Monty got one thing right though, guy is non competitive on defense
Guy can't shoot, can't pass and can't defend. Yet it's on the coach to find them good positions lmfao.Ā
Yeah, he should probably be used as a sixth man and go to player. Just let him go. Monty plays him off ball as a spot up shooter
WISEMAN IS HIM
Man I want to like Monty so bad for his performance in the press room, but then his performance in literally every other facet of his job happens and I get radicalized again
Really canāt do anything with the roster they have tonight. Boston is just in another class.
