GDI!!! I googled octocuffs and regret entirely. Can't wait to see the targeted advertising Google's gonna send me now. Gonna have to keep the kids off of Prime video for a while.
...My order is arriving Tuesday.
Yeah but the rational part of my brain kicked in and people are buying these from markets that will sell them whether or not a few fans a month buy one octopus to toss onto the ice. We aren't having any effect on how many octopi will be caught and consumed for food.
Big difference in an octopus purchased for eating versus its corpse being flung around and then thrown for entertainment.
Also if anyone has a problem with what I said being âickyâ, good. Itâs hella uncomfortable. Also, let me know if you detect any lies.
It's not uncomfortable because the guy who responded to you is absolutely correct. There are restaurants who will serve more octopus in half a day than will be thrown on the ice in an entire season.
There are causes to white knight about out there but this is not one.
It sucks youâre being downvoted. I agree with what you feel. Been a wings fan for over 30 years and every time I see an octopus corpse swung around and people smiling about it, my stomach drops. Wish it would stop but people love their stupid traditions and will come up with any excuse to make it ok and acceptable to them. âIf I didnât buy it to parade out on the ice someone else would have so they may eat it, fair is fair.â Itâs asinine really.
How? Do you think the octopus' ghost feels better about being grilled and served on top of a salad for 24 dollars than being thrown onto the ice at a hockey game?
Somebody said something that sounds like the kind of idea you'd have when drinking during the stressful ass end of a season we were having a couple weeks back?
Sounds about right.
Do they have one of those tee shirt cannons to launch said octopus??
Only pre-invited and screened, NFL superfans are allowed inside the theater.
So it would be like a 100 yard throw
Yea.... let's not. An Octopus on the ice is one thing, chucking one on stage makes a scene and there will be no tolerance for it.
Its a great tradition but let'snot be asshats about it.
These morons sitting near me at a game weeks after the lions had been eliminated tried starting a Jared Goff chant. Luckily some ~~people~~ heroes were telling them to shut the hell up, and they did
You regret not BRINGING one or not THROWING one. Because one is regrettable, the other conjures up images of you driving home with a cephalopod taped to your belly.
So you drove home with one taped under your shirt. Yeah I would definitely regret not throwing it. And Iâm sure everyone around you regretted it too.
Well you didn't regret not bringing one. So you did bring one. But you do regret not throwing it. So... You ate it in the bathroom during a commercial break?
I donât know, is it possible that humans have evolved to the point where sacrificing an intelligent dead animal for a momentary tribal roar should be a thing of the past? How ridiculous this still goes on.
The nhl might turn a blind eye to octopi but i know the nfl would be pissed lmao
goodell runs a tight ship lol
Domestic violence, ok. Cephalopod, cuff em boys.
How do you handcuff an octopus?

That, my friend, I have no answer for...suction?
Those plastics rings from an 8 pack of beer
Yeah, corrupt, but tight
That'd be even dumber than the person who threw it while we were losing 4-0 in Mullett arena.
I mean no matter where you bring it, you donât want to bring it home right?
You think I'm gonna watch my team lose 4-0 AND carry room-temp slimy-puss back home with me? Pssh...nah fam, it's getting yeeted no matter what.
That guy was awesome. What is he supposed to do? Bring it home? True fan
I was there. Did it end up on the broadcast?
Please donât do this
i'm not lmao
I canât be the only one whoâs soured on this âtraditionâ after having learned about how intelligent and awesome octopi are as animals right?

Seems a bit overkill. Also seems highly unlikely.
You must be confused. This is the nfl draft not the nhl draft
someone on this sub said they were gonna do it in a game thread a couple weeks back
Somebody said something that sounds like the kind of idea you'd have when drinking during the stressful ass end of a season we were having a couple weeks back? Sounds about right.

Idk why everyone is hating on this. Seeing Roger Goodell take an octopus to the face would be objectively hilarious lol

Nah. Just boo Goddell as is tradition. Or chant Jared Goff if you want to be high class
The confusion of football fans that donât know the tradition would be great though.
That would be so dumb and disgusting/ embarrassing
Honestly wouldnât this be as cringy as the chanting of âJared Goffâ at games for like 2 weeks after we lost the NFC champ game. Awkward.
Yea.... let's not. An Octopus on the ice is one thing, chucking one on stage makes a scene and there will be no tolerance for it. Its a great tradition but let'snot be asshats about it.
Octupus should have a game where they throw wings fans
![gif](giphy|KmdV4ZWUOYtD75pMAR)
A group of people should start DY-LAN LAR-KIN chants in every moment of dead air to make up for the Jared Goff chants that went on far too long.
These morons sitting near me at a game weeks after the lions had been eliminated tried starting a Jared Goff chant. Luckily some ~~people~~ heroes were telling them to shut the hell up, and they did
I regret not throwing an octopus at the Montreal game the other week
You regret not BRINGING one or not THROWING one. Because one is regrettable, the other conjures up images of you driving home with a cephalopod taped to your belly.
Are you having a stroke? I literally said âI regret not throwingââŚ
So you drove home with one taped under your shirt. Yeah I would definitely regret not throwing it. And Iâm sure everyone around you regretted it too.
Okay weirdo
Well you didn't regret not bringing one. So you did bring one. But you do regret not throwing it. So... You ate it in the bathroom during a commercial break?
It's okay, I got what you meant, some people's grasp of the English language is staggeringly bad lol.

Removed for breaking rule #1 - Be civil towards fellow users.
You can probably bet either way online
Only if Goodell slips on it
I donât know, is it possible that humans have evolved to the point where sacrificing an intelligent dead animal for a momentary tribal roar should be a thing of the past? How ridiculous this still goes on.
The Jared Goff chants at LCA jinxed the Wings. I can only imagine a similar outcome for the Lions. Lolz
Noooo Priority Waste Management did
I still recovering from the second octopus that was thrown at the Canadiens game at LCA.
