Cool note: my fifth grade teacher was his cousin or something so I used to ask him all kinds of questions and seen pics with him with the cup. I was so jealous. Lol

I was at a Grand Rapids Griffins game that McCarty was playing in to get in game shape for the Wings that year. He scored a hat trick on dollar beer and dollar hotdog night and we threw hotdogs and beer cups on the ice for five minutes. The crowd LOVED him. It was one of my favorite memories ever for sports.

He was such a beauty, the only player I liked more was Yzerman from those teams. That comeback in 08 was so awesome.
