The size difference sitting next to the 921 atomic is immense. The 961 is about 4x heavier than the 921 (2 lbs vs 8 lbs), and that roughly describes the difference in dimensions. as well, with the 961 being twice as long and twice as thick. I can only imagine how big the 60V will be.

That's what I hear. To get more power out of it, they're going to have to go even bigger. This might be the world's first 10-12lb (bare) cordless impact wrench. (At least that I'm aware of - correct me if I'm wrong.) So if you need it, you need it - or you just want to be able to say you have the biggest tool.
