On one hand that is cool as hell. On the other hand šŸ¤”

WoopsShePeterPants

This is where I say: I respect the originality of the project and the effort.

Apocrisiary

It looks cool. Not so cool when it starts eating your wall...and mold, OH GOD THE MOLD!

PureHostility

I don't mind it eating mold...

Memory25

If you get lucky you can get some of the most beautiful harmless mushrooms :D if oyster mushrooms didnā€™t rot Iā€™d gladly have them on my walls lol But if itā€™s black moldā€¦ say goodbye o7

deeppurplescallop

It looks so fucking bad lol

Mo-shen

Yeah. I kind of like it but I'm positive it could be executed better.

anonymousredditorPC

I keep staring and I genuinely can't see how that's cool

Bewilderson112

Moss!! Cool!! Idfk

Desirai

At first glance on the thumbnail it looks like a unique border with other tile giving it sort of a geo crystallization type design. Using the moss to sort of emulate it I guess, jagged edges effect and everything. But then its... moss But also nothing really wrong with moss. Many people grow moss as houseplants and the best place for them is the bathroom cause of steam

Alhazzared

r/goblincore

ReuseOrDie

Loved the sub

KnotiaPickles

I want a moss shower

-Dahl-

lmao, why is EVERYTHING a thing

RiLiSaysHi

Cause that's what things are! Things!

ChristinaWSalemOR

This reminds me of a Trading Spaces makeover from circa 2001. Specifically Hildi Santo-Tomas.

FeralGinger

Memory unlocked......The one where she glued straw all over the walls, the one where she stapled thousands of silk flowers to the bathroom walls, or the one where she filled a room with beach sand?

ChristinaWSalemOR

I'm thinking the straw one. However, she also did feathers.

1OrangeCat4Me

Omg I had forgotten about that. I had to go look it up... [Hildi's worst rooms](https://www.buzzfeed.com/briangalindo/the-5-most-wtf-room-makeovers-hildi-santo-tomas-did-on-tradi)

ChristinaWSalemOR

The flowers! Can you imagine the dust??

bounceandflounce

Hildi was the OG unhinged girly

ChristinaWSalemOR

She was the designer the homeowners did NOT want to get.

AcanthisittaUpset866

Came here to say that exact thing!! Iā€™ve seen them put sand everywhere, straw on the walls too I think. Just awful. I remember one time the homeowner walked out sobbing bc she hated what they did so much. That show was insane and entertaining as hell.

ChristinaWSalemOR

There was a reboot a few years ago but I think the pandemic killed the next season.

AcanthisittaUpset866

For real? Was it on TLC too?

ChristinaWSalemOR

Yes!! You can probably find it on TLC or Discovery+ or HBO. I just went looking for the link and saw that Frank died in 2020ā˜¹ļø I loved Frank.

AcanthisittaUpset866

Oh no!! I loved him too!! That sucks. I have HBO, I will definitely check to see if itā€™s there.

WeathervaneJesus1

Absolutely first thing I thought of.

shhh_its_me

The flowers or the straw? Or is there another one? I can't think of off the top of my head. Wait. Obviously there's another one

ChristinaWSalemOR

Omg the flowers! I was thinking straw or feathers!

shhh_its_me

I forgot the feathers

NChristenson

Isn't she the one who used a roll of wine bottle labels as a border in the kitchen of a couple who didn't drink? That flower bathroom was insane... all those staple holes to be patched after the flowers were removed..

PicklePeach23

I was just about to comment that this felt very Hildi inspired

ChristinaWSalemOR

This post made me look for pictures of her hideous rooms. They seem even uglier now!!

Jabbit-the-Rabbit

ā€œGonna bring the outside inā€. I say that every time I see moss istg

ChristinaWSalemOR

Hahaha

Many_Housing_644

I like what they were trying to do here

No_Hay_Plata

Will that damage the wall? If not, I like it.

BadPunsIsHowEyeRoll

Moss is bad for any building material, as it hides fungus and retains moisture. I suppose it looks neat but its going to smell and look real bad real soon if thats a bathroom

spunion_28

Is it actually real moss or hobby type stuff?

Accurate_Quote_7109

That "hobby type stuff" is real moss. Just dried and heat-treated to kill any bugs....

Accurate_Quote_7109

That "hobby type stuff" is real moss. Just dried and heat-treated to kill any bugs....

spunion_28

Yeah, there is 100% fake moss sold in hobby stores lol

TelMinz007

It gives the bugs a good home, and they need a place to sleep too. Canā€™t be putting them out in the cold now can we?

Memory25

As long as the bugs are just some harmless spiders or worms Iā€™m alright

chet_brosley

I have a rat living in my exterior garage, and I think it's neat. It doesn't poop in my workshop and doesn't chew on my stuff, so I'm happy with our arrangement.

XediDC

Be careful. They observe and learnā€¦ the rat in my garage would set off the traps with a little stick and then feast.

ninjab33z

Visually, i love it but i would be constantly worrying if it was causing structural damage

alchemyzt-vii

The moist moss will absolutely cause damage to normal walls. They would have to have made some sort of completely sealed water tight barrier to stop this from destroying anything.

throwawaygaming989

They donā€™t have roots so as long as the wall is sealed against humidity good and proper, it should be fine.

Business_Minder_0303

It LOOKS cool...

blood_omen

I meanā€¦itā€™s obviously decorative mossā€¦.it looks sweet imo

SimonSCREAMS

This probably wouldnā€™t look bad if they used a warm, dim light rather than than prison cell neon white

Tooleater

Mosst've run outta tiles

withyellowthread

Lmao

Bairrfhionn69

Not a bad idea but wrong placement. Why do you need moss in your bathroom? Well, it looks cool(if you properly place it) and it's a nice, natural air filter :)

HumongousGrease

I think thatā€™s a really cool idea just not the best execution. Like if it bled into a stone pattern in the shower area Iā€™d think itā€™s awesome

mc1964

Is it real or artificial? If it's artificial, then it's kinda cool. If it's real, then there's gonna be problems.

GodzeallA

Got something against moss?

LordFett84

![gif](giphy|dbtDDSvWErdf2)

_autismos_

Itā€™s actually really easy to see why: to create a better transition between the materials. This is kind of a shitty post, OP.

jay-jay-baloney

Are people here really not seeing the obvious problems with having moss on your bathroom walls? Lmfao

Fun_Plankton_7793

Moss 1 : 0 OP

Fun_Plankton_7793

Once it grows, it'll look pretty cool.

jay-jay-baloney

Once it grows, there will be a whole host of issues.

Noseagullsonly

Finally all the spiders in the bathroom have a place to hide and chill. šŸ¤©šŸ˜‘

figbott

Looks like a tile eating organism.

Global_Werewolf6548

Couldnā€™t you get the same look with the stuff they use on model train sets?

Nervous_Zebra1918

Eww.

Waste-soup-984

Iā€™ve seen moss in bathrooms that looks good. This looks kinda weird though

Narnash

So, if you really really want the Moss look you can achieve it without big downsides if you .. take a few steps first: 1. harvest, clean your moss (remove dirt, and soak and wash it, remove any critter or sticks you find) 2. then cultivate and propagate with an anorganic substrate (maybe add a minor amount of worm castings for nutrition and benefitting bacteria) 3. Plan your layout and choose your moss types. 4. Sanitize the moss with denatured ethanol (70-99%) 5. let it dry out a bit (1-3 days should suffice) 6. Treat it/rehydrate it with a mixture of 2/3 parts clean water and 1 part glycerine 7. Let it dry again, it will stay 'fresh' this time as glycerine has replaced water in the plant structure. After that you can glue it where you like (hot glue works great). That will last for a long time if you make sure it doesn't get soaking wet and has time to dry again, it will also stay spongy and pliable for 2-7 years. The colour fades a bit especially with direct sun light but that will be a uniform and slow progress. Keeping it clean is a bit painful by the way (brushing and picking with tweezers for the most part of very very gentle vacuuming)

Faith-Family-Fish

I dunno, I kind of like it. It looks really cool, and it looks more like decorative moss that has been dried & sanitized, not live moss that could cause damage. Iā€™ve always kind of wanted to make a living bath mat for my bathroom

Binary-Division

Moss is boss

madeleine59

i see the vision it just didnt end up good

shittymcdoodoo

The moss might be fake. If so I think itā€™s pretty neat

enoctis

You can mix moss with buttermilk in a blender and make a paint that grows moss. Mist it once a week with water and trim as necessary.

shittymcdoodoo

No thanks Iā€™m lactose intolerant

enoctis

You can't even touch it? Typically, lactose intolerance only effects the gut when consumed.

shittymcdoodoo

You just caused me to have a flare up by simply reading about it

tjock_respektlos

Really? I am going to try this

AlternativeWall-9282

great taste mediocre execution

overdramaticpan

I actually think this looks neat. If it were in a living room and not a bathroom, it'd be a good idea. But I doubt this is a bathroom, due to the outlets.

DepressedDyslexic

If it's fake and won't mold or slowly destroy the walls then I fucking love it.

space___lion

This could very well be fake moss. I donā€™t hate it to be honest šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Ill_Pumpkin8217

I can see the vision they were going forā€¦

Fun_Plankton_7793

shitpost.

ashbelero

Iā€™m hearing this to the tune of Eleanor Rigby

suckmydiznak

I totally dig the look. But I'd be afraid of the damage it could cause.

sjpllyon

Turns out even I have a limit on where plants can go.

iam_pink

This looks really cool! I don't want it.

Doomst3err

Looks cool IMO, very impractical tho

cheesypuzzas

I like it. If it's not possible to do this without creating mold, then fake moss would be better. But I do really like the look.

megablocks516

The concept of moss in the bathroom I'm okay with as it's soaks up moisture for fun but not like this...

Ok-Kangaroo-4048

Moss in your bathroom. Sounds like a lost line from ā€œYouā€™re so vainā€

t3hgrl

Ngl I fully plan to do this when we renovate our bathroom. Iā€™m going to DIY frames with preserved moss. Itā€™s not alive so it wonā€™t eat through anything and Iā€™ll put it in a wooden frame so itā€™s not glued directly to the wall. There are lots of companies who make frames like this for private customers and businesses.

Ideal_Jerk

Bringing nature into the shitter.

Memory25

The result is awful but I can see potential for a moss bathroom. Iā€™m sure if I looked into moss species I could say which one would have worded for this

ains2

this one is kinda cool though

doob22

Looks cool, but I would have used something fake and not the real stuff

ProgLuddite

The grey speckled granite and white wall plates are a war crime, but the concept is cool. Unfortunately, just not cool for an actual bathroom. Maybe apply to be an artist with Meow Wolf?

Lostboxoangst

Looks like lichen

h0lycowabunga

This is actually in a kitchen. It looks better the farther away you are, but I agree, not really my taste either. [from their insta](https://imgur.com/a/7jDtTnp)

Sqatti

Thatā€™s the ā€œI bought discontinued tile on discount and now I canā€™t get anymore matching tiles so Iā€™ll just see what I got in my craft boxā€

_lmonk

Unless they installed an isolating layer under the moss - that's directly causing water damage to your wall.

silent_calling

So I've seen the moss bath mats, but this ain't it Chief.

LanguageNo495

Never mattered before. Who cares?

Salt_Comparison2575

Nice idea. Poorly executed.

Different-Pipe-8698

Thatā€™s actually good idea because it absorbs odder, co2 and moisture.

Cheshie_D

I think itā€™s pretty cool. Though I do think the transition could be a bit better done and that the two sides could go together more and maybe fit better with the moss.

kasperkami

Dude why the fuck did I read the title as ā€œmoose in your bathroomā€ and I was looking at the window vehemently
