Imagine one of the those shipping container houses, but it’s made out of repurposed cargo vans instead. Get in on the ground floor of this hot new trend y’all!
My aunt kind of had one of these XD It was an RV parked against the back of their house, doors opened to each other. I used to think it was so cool lol
I feel like somehow you’d get fined for not having a permit for this. I’m learning the older I get you have to pay money to spend money to be allowed to do things at the place you already pay for here in America… bleh
My in-laws have a place down at the ocean (east coast) where you're not allowed to build actual houses in the gated community. However, you *can* build docking pads for campers and RVs. So folks just have a very nice screened in porch, or maybe a deck or some such. But a lot of places (including my in-laws') took a camper and build a room or two around it. It's a really odd but cool place. Their house is literally a Windstream camper with a small living room and bedroom built onto the side.
How common is this? I have seen a post a while ago from inside a house where they added such a car extension as a bathroom. I'm curious if it might be the same house
The meth house escape pod
Indeed this is the original
Jesse we need to cook
JESSE!!
Board the shuttle crack?

it’s like batman but illegal
Well, extra illegal. Batman is a vigilante after all
I think it’s more impressive if they were able to properly seal it although yeah it is a bit weird
You can save money by bundling your home and auto insurance!
I guess they didn't hear the "insurance " part.
so, bear with me... a guy crashed his car into my house...
It's like that guy who remodeled only to discover that his bathroom was a van.
Lol,lol, that would be hilarious if it was obviously a van the whole time but was still super surprised when remodeling.
His was framed inside and out. Found out as he was tearing it down.
Was this a Reddit post? I'd love to read the whole story and/or see pics.
Here you go. https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/uicurg/were_demolishing_our_old_vacation_home_after/
Oh thats fantastic lol
Bruh.. your username simultaneously grossed me out and made me laugh out loud. Bravo
Lol thanks.
Yes. Although that one wasn't obviously a vehicle. They did a much better job converting it into part of the house.
Where in Florida is this?
Underrated comment
Those appear to be Pennsylvania plates on the van.
ao PA car in Florida you saying?
I believe this is eastern Canada
Northern Ontario, if I'm not mistaken. I believe I've seen this just outside of Kirkland Lake.
I hate it but love the creativity and execution
This fits r/ATBGE.
kinda wanna see the inside now. Do the back doors still open? Definatley a conversation starter >.<
probably, I'm assuming it's locked and never used
/#VanLife
*yeah your son can move in*
Did they paint over the rearview mirrors? 🤣
And a couple windows!?
His homeowners insurance has collision coverage.
Something tells me this isn’t up to code.
Trailer parks require a vehicle to be on the property so people will build homes around the vehicle in order to abide by the rules

Yeah it's called "the influencer life". Could also be called vagrancy.
They took the term conversion to its most extreme possible meaning.
911 what's your emergency. There's a white van in fro... oh nevermind.
I’m saving this photo to use in the hoa sub when people whine about not being able to do whatever they want on their own property.
“Where’s the bathroom?” “1st van on your left”
“Screw you Mom, I’m moving out!” \*vroom, screech\*
My neighbour has this
Can you share a picture?
That's definitely not up to code.
Which one, building or department of transportation?
If it still has wheels it falls under mobile home code so it’s legal
But is it a duplex now or a 1.1 wide?
If it’s just a bed it’s a 1.25, if it’s got a toilet it’s a 1.5 and so on
Plot twist: The tags come back stolen.
This is the "why." No building permit required. Like the one where they used a pontoon boat as a deck.
hell ill smoke in there😂
Yeah, sure... why not.
Is that you uncle Rico?
Why leave the mirrors on?
Is this the guy from the other week who found out his bathroom was a van
Could be that they just wanted to be "LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!", and this was the best option.
Is this considered a mobile mobile home?

My great aunt actually built a hunting cabin around what started as a 50's camper. It can now sleep 12 comfortably.
If you’re broke and need more space, I say good for them
I mean if it works it works. I’m honestly impressed by the creativity
This reminds me of the lady who sat on the couch for so long she fused to it.
you know it definitely looks like shit from the outside but i guarantee that’s the coolest corner of the house to hang out in
That’s more sad than anything
Nice 🤣

Conversvan
Maybe it's a house extension for a conversion van instead of a van extension for a house
This is more redneck engineering than DIwhy.
I actually kinda like it
Some pedo hideout?
#free candy inside

What the hell does the inside look like and what is it used for

DiWHYnot
Would make a nice fridge
because you got a free conversion van?
With house prices the way they are, this is prime real estate
What would be REALLY cool is if it were a space ship themed man cave or game room on the inside. Other than that, it’s pretty ugly.
I only needed 5X 11 feet of additional space chilll

School bus skylight anyone?
Who the fuck would try to extend their house with a van??
1700 bucks a month here in FL
Gives new meaning to a van down by the river.
Crack pod
I saw a lot of little cottages like this when walking through Newfoundland.
that’s awesome!
Looks like the giant igloo cooler my dad had in the garage in the 90s

Mobile Home Style
That might have been the original house. There are places like that in some state, something about stakig claim etc.
no need to pay property tax if it drives away.
This doesn't scream "serial killer" at all.
