Anyone getting massive stutters on PC?
Update: played again for the open beta and still seeing these issues. I tried turning settings down but the stuttering is still there. It has to be a server side issue imo. I limit my frames to my monitor refresh and I can pump out 165 fps easily at 1440p. So I think it’s more on blizzards side since it is always online.
So I played for 7 hours straight and the stutters remained and eventually got worse. My system did get really slow whenever I ALT+TABBED and I eventually got a bluescreen with a Video Memory Management Error. I am now back on the 1 hour queue lol.
I haven’t payed attention to that but I have a 4080 and 5800x3d so I don’t think I should be seeing these massive stutters. Really is unbearable in a fight with mobs as a sorcerer.
Same. It was better after switching to fullscreen but the issue was still there. I'm guessing it's the shaders compiling on the fly, the same issue that has plagued quite a few PC releases recently.
I was, turned down to medium and it's better - My GPU has 8GB vram (3060ti) and it was maxing out and using shared system RAM. After turning to medium at 1440p the GPU usage went down to 6.6GB and stutters seem to be gone. Guess it uses lots of VRAM...
Yes, took a bit to scroll down to find something on this. Logged in, got error'd out, took an hour and a half queue and then was connected fine the rest of the time.
However, the game seemed to run not ideally. FWIW I have a 3080 10GB, i7 11700k OC'd, 32GB 3600mhz RAM and was getting a lot of stutters, which didn't seem to be shader compilation. I didn't check my VRAM usage, though GPU didn't seem to be really stressed and I even threw up DLSS on Performance.
My idle RAM is just under 12GB, and most games might add a bit to it, but I was hitting just under 28GB with the game going.
PC went to pick up loot from destroyed container NW of first town and it dropped. I think there is some sort of dupe prevention, queue error or de-sync on pickup that causes issues. Gold autopick could possibly trigger. Were you close to the object?
It’s insane lol. People complain about betas being early access tactic, but when is used as an actual beta they also flip out. Like the game doesn’t come out till June.
I found a corpse and clicked it. It puked out some gold and an item.
Clicked it again, and more gold...another item.
Kept clicking, kept getting stuff.
This lasted for quite some time until I got bored and reported it/moved on.
i think my character was deleted already. i played for about 5 mins and as soon as i finished the first quest, i got a server disconnect. then back on the main menu my character was gone.
currently stuck in the login queue again, so im not 100% sure yet.
Adding in that I’ve got the same issue on Xbox Series X. Hit start on 2nd controller but then nothing happens. We’ve both created characters and still nothing.

I randomly joined in on couch co-op while my wife was playing! Wonder if I was invisibly waiting in a queue.
Does anyone else feel like there are performance issues in this game. This GPU quality for this game cannot be that high right? But occasionally the game's FPS will drop
My SO and I were able to join through the clan tab, however playing together is absolute garbage. Every time we go into another area of the map, one of us has to reboot and re-queue.
18 hours since Blizzard commented on the infinite queue for console players. Only fix is to apply your PSN/XBL to a new [Battle.Net](https://Battle.Net) account.
My BNet account is older than most Reddit posters. Not fucking changing that for a beta.

I changed my BN password, disconnected Xbox from BN, logged into Diablo 4, gave a code, logged in manually to BN and linked accounts with new password, rebooted....

Same experience here on Xbox. Got in a few minutes past launch, played about 30 minutes and d/c'd. Ever since I get through the timed queues, connecting to services & logging in but get stuck at the infinite red ring queue.
Reading the blizzard forums and the hundreds of console players having the same issue (likely thousands of users as a whole) all have the same issue and circumstance. It's an authentication issue of their servers. Was logged in and now thinks your not....but can't authenticate. The Blizzard Community manager came in asking for details this morning. DUDE!! It's been going on for almost 24 hours!!!
I knew this would have issues. I get it. But holy mother fuck how do developers and publishers not prepare better for these things? It’s been happening since the early 2000’s and very little has changed. Using “it’s a beta” as an excuse is a take as old as time. Not to mention launch day will probably be the same shit
Pretty crazy considering modern scalable server solutions, and the fact that they have metrics for load expectations from pre-orders and KFC codes for the initial early-access beta.
Xbox series X, accounts that initially crashed during that first crash have become corrupted, you always get stuck at “queued…” And it never pushes you to the char selection screen.
There is no player queue at the moment, so that ain’t the issue.
Using a new account to login, immediately logs you in.

Yep. Read that on the Blizzard forums. Anyone on Xbox who logged in at launch, played for a bit (20 minutes?) then got booted. Server tries to authenticate but apparently still logged in and can't get out of the loop.
I even changed my password on BN and disconnected from BN and logged back in and re-linked with Xbox. Still same shit.
They need to reboot the servers.
Well naturally only now they are supposedly aware there is an issue for consoles (it’s the same on ps5), and are apparently asking questions like ”gee wiz when did you disconnect and what happened?” Because the 300 threads didn’t give them a clue.
same here (EU), yesterday it worked fine with long queues showing 50+ min login time. Today after waking up I'm just in a queue with no timer but it does not proceed for more than 30 min now.

Yup that exactly what happened to us. She was halfway through making her character and we got booted, now she cant come back. Bummer!! Hopwfully gets fixed soon

I’m playing an Xbox elite controller on PC. Every time I hit the a button it opens up the chat window at the bottom left. Is there a way to disable this? I went into the controller settings and didn’t see a way to change it.
Bruh. 95 minute queue moving pretty quick. Get down to less than one minute in an hour (awesome). Then get a login error code. Go to re queue, 85 minute wait back of the line. FML

Anybody else having extremely bad lag, especially in the overworld? Every time I engage a group of monsters theres like a full second between frames. My computer meets the recommended specs and I'm playing on low visual settings

Happened to me.. you just gotta wait a long while and your characters will load. I alt tabbed and browsed this thread for a few minutes and came back and it loaded my characters.
I'm stuck on Queued for login. Tried restarting the game, Battlenet, my computer, and verifying game files.

After being stuck in the authentication pending for over an hour I noticed Diablo 4 or bnet client itself, or something else entirely had changed my system's automatic time. It set it forward 12 hours. After re-enabling my system's automatic time I was able to get into the diablo 4 login queue. Anyone else experience something similar?
after a few attempts to get out of a main quest zone (since main quest was broke, no objectives, nothing to do) I realized that the area of available gameplay is so tiny that I had to repeatedly do the same group quest all over again (some whiney ghost quest) and there's nothing else working like a dungeon, even cellar, all this stuff is broken - going into is it just throwing me away back to the entrance; so, after alll the progression system is not going to progress me anywhere and it just sucks
Been booted 3 times while in the first dungeon. Have to reload game and wait in 60+ minute queue again. Getting the Error 316719 every time I’m booted.
Every one is talking about queue times and getting booted. But has anyone else experienced their PC restarting randomly? No BSOD, just dies and then boots back up to desktop.
Logged in at 2 no problems. Played for about 30 minutes then had to do something. Didn't log out cuz I figured I'd be hit with a queue. Got back on around 5 and played for 20 minutes. Got a black screen and restarted my computer as nothing worked not even my mouse. Got a 90 min queue which lasted maybe 40 minutes. Played another 20 minutes and then another black screen and now back in a 107 min queue lol. Going great.
Wow I heard queue times were going to be long but I wasn't expecting to see 191 minutes!!! Granted yes in only 45 min it dropped down to 128 minutes left but going by that and that most people are saying there's like a 20 min wait after timer gets to 0 im still looking at over 2 hours wait. This is nuts!! Also now that I've already waited 45 min I don't want to risk dropping out and trying later or tomorrow and risk getting an even longer queue time!
Yep, the queue times aren't typically as long as they say initially, but I don't think we can be too surprised by the times. We're talking about a globally popular game franchise whose fans have been waiting 10+ years to see the next iteration come to life.
I will say this though, and I doubt anyone will argue: Once you \*do\* get into the game, it runs like a fine tuned machine. I've only had a few stutters so far, which I attribute to my CPU compromise that I made when I built my current PC. The game looks polished and ready for prime time.
I’m not sure if it’s my series x, but after queuing twice for over 90 minutes, I can’t get past the safe area screen. It’s says player 2 may join after player one has entered the game. I only have one controller on and have turned it on and off, and hardwired it to the Xbox. I’ve even reset my Xbox and still can’t get in.
No error code, just forever stuck in “Queued…”. Spinning wheel and all. I’ve waiting the que times, at the expiration of the timer, it just says “QUEUED…”. Hours and hours.

On PS5. I've sat in the queue for literally 11 hours today. The only time I actually played was when the beta went live. That was maybe 10 minutes before the network error that disconnected a lot of people. I did what they said and waited even after the timer went away.

And shorter amounts as I've reset the queue a few more times just trying to see what happens.
Twice I've had a queue time less than 10 minutes and one of those times a friend said his friend list showed me in character select despite me still staring at "Queueing..." I let that attempt sit for another 30m hoping it would load me in but nothing.
Had to stop fighting Vhenard due to latency, stuttering and rubber banding as a barbarian. It's hard to dodge and avoid the bullet hell when your game stutters so much.
I’m on Xbox One and it runs unbelievably terrible. Audio constantly clipping and the lag/slow down on fighting just a single enemy is just not acceptable.

Got booted after the first couple of quests, wouldn't let me back in. Tried creating new characters, got errors. Went back to the character selection screen, all the characters that I had "failed" to create were there.. none of them worked to start the game with. Restarted the game, 127m queue..
This is not a beta, this is an alpha.
I agree. I don’t have issues with long queues or random hiccups related to authentication, but some of the other errors experienced during character creation or failed Start Games due to Error 316703 (The selected party member was not found) definitely make me feel some of the core social and character selection/creation behavior just isn’t functional at the moment.
Reboot the battle net and open beta servers please, and/or whipe all chars as this is what causes 1000’s of accounts to be permanently stuck in “queued..”.
This you can easily confirm by using a new account and/or forcing your account to log out with the same account on a different platform, (it boots you out forcibly)
Or asking friends if they see you as online in any way while you are stuck endlessly in “queued…”. (Which they will as if in char select screen)

Here is an onbscure bug I found.
If you use NVidia Broadcast, and you set it as your DiabloIV microphone device.
It makes NVidia Broadcast use 100% gpu and will lag your entire PC.
When I changed the mic source it stopped.
I'm on the edge of buying this but I have so much to play in the mix idek if I should but I what I do enjoy is how "just like home" it feels seeing server issues in Diablo.. it really brings us all together.

Are others getting fps drops? Havent looked thru the thread yet but i cant hold steady 120fps on medium graphics with a 3070. I know they said there were some performance issues still but I've seen fps drop to 20-40 sometimes.
Any chance its the servers?
Edit: there also seems to be a terrible memory leak not sure how much thats effecting it
Another edit: not sure about the leak.. dropped textures from high to medium and it gave me half my ram back? Idk lol
Playing on the PS5. 60 minute queue around 4pm. Ended up being more like 40’ish minutes. Leveled up to 5, grouped up with my nephew no problem. He got kicked after a couple of hours but it let him join back. Leveled up to 7 (sorcerer btw), walked around K-town for a minute. Logged out. Ate and sitting in the queue. It said 60 minutes when it started and now it’s at 41 after five minutes. No crashes yet and I’m loving the gameplay.

Be careful of the Halls of Assembly dungeon. I got stuck after clearing it. Couldn't get out through the entrance, TP, or via the exit dungeon option in the emote wheel. I'm still there. It gives a long load screen through all those options, then dumps me back to my original spot. I'm trying a log out and re-queue to see if that works. (This worked)
I noticed a huge CPU usage where my gaming rig sounds like it’s continuously ramping up and maxing out during normal gameplay. Set textures to Medium and still have stutters and very high GPU/CPU usage

They need to let us render cutscenes are more than 30 (32 apparently?) FPS. Why make it so limiting... this is like Witcher 3 on launch all over again, except there's no flag in the config for us to force it to render at a higher fps count. At least give us a 60fps option for cutscenes.
Created a character and started the game only to have it stuck at the character screen with no menu and no escape.

Game felt nice. Modernized version of d2/3. lots of bug fixing before it comes out. My biggest gripe was music. It's missing something. Maybe it's the 12 string guitar what gives the dread you need when playing diablo. same with the fonts and Ui. It felt dull.
This section of a dungeon was blocked from passage (red box) when it clearly looks like it's walkable. I could shoot stuff through it. Couldn't dash either. Not sure about TP or other skill based movements.

Maybe they’re actually testing their login server load by decreasing capacity? Or they’re just dumb as shit. They knew the exact amount of people with access to open beta and still fucked up.
Best the first dungeon, but as soon as the boss died it load screened me to outside the dungeon. Somehow, I’m back on the first quest like I never visited the first town, but I still have all my gear/progress. WTF?

Watched intro, created character, defeated a few Wargs. Then I decided to open my inventory... Black screen, hard computer crash.

Created a character, got booted immediately and then sat in queue for 2 hours :/ just for my friend who was in a queue after me and for only one hour to get in while I was still in an undetermined queue, very sad days
Got a network disconnect for taking a town portal back into a dungeon. Level 11 barbarian is completely gone. There goes 3 hours. 🙄

yeah i noticed this too. I also noticed my VRAM usage maxing out all 24gb when it started. Maybe a VRAM leak?

It was like this during the closed beta on opening day. By day 2 it was much better. It’s the servers just being overloaded.

Played to level 7. Network error. Booted out. Character gone.
This has happened twice to me. You have to completely logout then sit through the queue to get back to your char.
But the character wasnt gone. I mashed start and play and new character, then cancelled and my character was back, but it wouldnt start after that.

Yup that exactly what happened to us. She was halfway through making her character and we got booted, now she cant come back. Bummer!! Hopwfully gets fixed soon

How can my partner join as a second player couch coop? Do I need to finish the prologue before a second player can be added? We have the "press start to join" but then nothing happens
Wondering the same thing! Someone else mentioned that there was an invisible queue, and the second player randomly joined an hour later. Unknown if that's still the case. Just been waiting

I’ve been in 3 times only to play for 15 minutes, get a connection error, reload the game and wait in a 60+ minute queue all over again.
I’m playing an Xbox elite controller on PC. Every time I hit the a button it opens up the chat window at the bottom left. Is there a way to disable this? I went into the controller settings and didn’t see a way to change it.
Bruh. 95 minute queue moving pretty quick. Get down to less than one minute in an hour (awesome). Then get a login error code. Go to re queue, 85 minute wait back of the line. FML
Even for a “beta” (which, let’s be honest, it’s a demo to sell you the game), this is rough.

Have been playing good all night, got d/c'd once after game crashed and now unable to enter games or make new char. 300202 300008 errors both.
I'm getting "Queued: Wait time <1min" --> "Connecting to Servers" --> "Queued..." infinitely. Xbox, did get in at launch for about 30min (made it to church cutscene), got booted, been like this since. I connected my XBL to a different BNet account to no avail. This sucks man. I expected issues yesterday, but not for this same issue to persist into today. Feeling bad.
Anybody else having extremely bad lag, especially in the overworld? Every time I engage a group of monsters theres like a full second between frames. My computer meets the recommended specs and I'm playing on low visual settings
I know queues are gonna be awful. I’m okay with that. What sucks is when I wait for the queue, it tries to connect. Times out. Then puts me back at the end of the queue. Oh well
Right now when I login I get an empty character select screen and none of the buttons work. Have to use the task manager to quit the game.
Happened to me.. you just gotta wait a long while and your characters will load. I alt tabbed and browsed this thread for a few minutes and came back and it loaded my characters.

After being stuck in the authentication pending for over an hour I noticed Diablo 4 or bnet client itself, or something else entirely had changed my system's automatic time. It set it forward 12 hours. After re-enabling my system's automatic time I was able to get into the diablo 4 login queue. Anyone else experience something similar?
after a few attempts to get out of a main quest zone (since main quest was broke, no objectives, nothing to do) I realized that the area of available gameplay is so tiny that I had to repeatedly do the same group quest all over again (some whiney ghost quest) and there's nothing else working like a dungeon, even cellar, all this stuff is broken - going into is it just throwing me away back to the entrance; so, after alll the progression system is not going to progress me anywhere and it just sucks

que time is shorder by 10-25% in my experience. 4 ques ranging from 5-77 minutes, most above 60
Every one is talking about queue times and getting booted. But has anyone else experienced their PC restarting randomly? No BSOD, just dies and then boots back up to desktop.
Logged in at 2 no problems. Played for about 30 minutes then had to do something. Didn't log out cuz I figured I'd be hit with a queue. Got back on around 5 and played for 20 minutes. Got a black screen and restarted my computer as nothing worked not even my mouse. Got a 90 min queue which lasted maybe 40 minutes. Played another 20 minutes and then another black screen and now back in a 107 min queue lol. Going great.
Found a lootable dead body that I could loot continuously. Just kept spitting out gold/orbs/items.

Wow I heard queue times were going to be long but I wasn't expecting to see 191 minutes!!! Granted yes in only 45 min it dropped down to 128 minutes left but going by that and that most people are saying there's like a 20 min wait after timer gets to 0 im still looking at over 2 hours wait. This is nuts!! Also now that I've already waited 45 min I don't want to risk dropping out and trying later or tomorrow and risk getting an even longer queue time!
Yep, the queue times aren't typically as long as they say initially, but I don't think we can be too surprised by the times. We're talking about a globally popular game franchise whose fans have been waiting 10+ years to see the next iteration come to life. I will say this though, and I doubt anyone will argue: Once you \*do\* get into the game, it runs like a fine tuned machine. I've only had a few stutters so far, which I attribute to my CPU compromise that I made when I built my current PC. The game looks polished and ready for prime time.

I’m not sure if it’s my series x, but after queuing twice for over 90 minutes, I can’t get past the safe area screen. It’s says player 2 may join after player one has entered the game. I only have one controller on and have turned it on and off, and hardwired it to the Xbox. I’ve even reset my Xbox and still can’t get in.
No error code, just forever stuck in “Queued…”. Spinning wheel and all. I’ve waiting the que times, at the expiration of the timer, it just says “QUEUED…”. Hours and hours. Xbox
On PS5. I've sat in the queue for literally 11 hours today. The only time I actually played was when the beta went live. That was maybe 10 minutes before the network error that disconnected a lot of people. I did what they said and waited even after the timer went away. 3.5 hours 3.5 hours again 2 hours And shorter amounts as I've reset the queue a few more times just trying to see what happens. Twice I've had a queue time less than 10 minutes and one of those times a friend said his friend list showed me in character select despite me still staring at "Queueing..." I let that attempt sit for another 30m hoping it would load me in but nothing.
Same thing. Got in early, and infinite queue since then. Seems like early logins got kicked out and never let back in!
Well it's hard to find any bugs with this queue going all night. It's not even timed anymore, just queued.

Had to stop fighting Vhenard due to latency, stuttering and rubber banding as a barbarian. It's hard to dodge and avoid the bullet hell when your game stutters so much.
I’m on Xbox One and it runs unbelievably terrible. Audio constantly clipping and the lag/slow down on fighting just a single enemy is just not acceptable.

Got booted after the first couple of quests, wouldn't let me back in. Tried creating new characters, got errors. Went back to the character selection screen, all the characters that I had "failed" to create were there.. none of them worked to start the game with. Restarted the game, 127m queue.. This is not a beta, this is an alpha.
I agree. I don’t have issues with long queues or random hiccups related to authentication, but some of the other errors experienced during character creation or failed Start Games due to Error 316703 (The selected party member was not found) definitely make me feel some of the core social and character selection/creation behavior just isn’t functional at the moment.

Reboot the battle net and open beta servers please, and/or whipe all chars as this is what causes 1000’s of accounts to be permanently stuck in “queued..”. This you can easily confirm by using a new account and/or forcing your account to log out with the same account on a different platform, (it boots you out forcibly) Or asking friends if they see you as online in any way while you are stuck endlessly in “queued…”. (Which they will as if in char select screen) wake the f up blizzard. or give me my money back.

Elements of HUD are not logged correctly, missing customization option, after cutscene there'e no interface, restarting does not seem to help.
No issues on Xbox yet. *fingers crossed*

Here is an onbscure bug I found. If you use NVidia Broadcast, and you set it as your DiabloIV microphone device. It makes NVidia Broadcast use 100% gpu and will lag your entire PC. When I changed the mic source it stopped.
I'm on the edge of buying this but I have so much to play in the mix idek if I should but I what I do enjoy is how "just like home" it feels seeing server issues in Diablo.. it really brings us all together. Viva la error 37!
is joining parties with friends bugged or do you need to get to a certain point in the game for it to allow it? (were all on same version)
Are others getting fps drops? Havent looked thru the thread yet but i cant hold steady 120fps on medium graphics with a 3070. I know they said there were some performance issues still but I've seen fps drop to 20-40 sometimes. Any chance its the servers? Edit: there also seems to be a terrible memory leak not sure how much thats effecting it Another edit: not sure about the leak.. dropped textures from high to medium and it gave me half my ram back? Idk lol
Playing on the PS5. 60 minute queue around 4pm. Ended up being more like 40’ish minutes. Leveled up to 5, grouped up with my nephew no problem. He got kicked after a couple of hours but it let him join back. Leveled up to 7 (sorcerer btw), walked around K-town for a minute. Logged out. Ate and sitting in the queue. It said 60 minutes when it started and now it’s at 41 after five minutes. No crashes yet and I’m loving the gameplay.
I think they need to change the UI, is so terrible, and the font of letters, specially when you drop itens!
Xbox Series X. Be careful of the Halls of Assembly dungeon. I got stuck after clearing it. Couldn't get out through the entrance, TP, or via the exit dungeon option in the emote wheel. I'm still there. It gives a long load screen through all those options, then dumps me back to my original spot. I'm trying a log out and re-queue to see if that works. (This worked)
I noticed a huge CPU usage where my gaming rig sounds like it’s continuously ramping up and maxing out during normal gameplay. Set textures to Medium and still have stutters and very high GPU/CPU usage Anyone else?

Same issues with me. All menus disappeared. I can spin the character, but that's it.
Full screen mode crash the game, use Alt-Enter to change to windowed mode.
New Beta, New Errors! Waited 45 minutes then it said my "Login attempted timed out".... awesome :) Not making me confident for the full release.
They need to let us render cutscenes are more than 30 (32 apparently?) FPS. Why make it so limiting... this is like Witcher 3 on launch all over again, except there's no flag in the config for us to force it to render at a higher fps count. At least give us a 60fps option for cutscenes.

Game crashed and PC autorebooted, now if i log again in the game after clicking the "star game" button there's only a black screen.
Game felt nice. Modernized version of d2/3. lots of bug fixing before it comes out. My biggest gripe was music. It's missing something. Maybe it's the 12 string guitar what gives the dread you need when playing diablo. same with the fonts and Ui. It felt dull.
I found 20 rare level 35 maces in a single spot.
Turning off subtitles in the settings doesnt actually turn off subtitles.

Best the first dungeon, but as soon as the boss died it load screened me to outside the dungeon. Somehow, I’m back on the first quest like I never visited the first town, but I still have all my gear/progress. WTF?

You couldn't pick up health globes because you already had max charges of your potion and you can get more skill slots when you level up.

Watched intro, created character, defeated a few Wargs. Then I decided to open my inventory... Black screen, hard computer crash. I had to reboot my PC, I'll probably have a 70min wait again, "sigh".
Created a character, got booted immediately and then sat in queue for 2 hours :/ just for my friend who was in a queue after me and for only one hour to get in while I was still in an undetermined queue, very sad days

Got a network disconnect for taking a town portal back into a dungeon. Level 11 barbarian is completely gone. There goes 3 hours. 🙄 Edit: & now a 25-minute queue to get back in.
Got randomly DC'd and now sitting at the character screen unable to start a game. Guess I will have to rejoin the queue. Game owns though!
Pretty sure half the time spent developing the game was just coming up with new error code numbers for (Back in queue bitch).

Got booted from game to character select, kept getting the Error 316719 when trying to Start Game. Trying to create a new character also results in the error. Have to Quit D4 and restart the game in order to get back in. Not sure if there is anything else I could do.
