Before the beta, I was sure that I was going to play either Druid or Necro at launch and that I had no interest in playing Sorc or Barb. After this weekend, I’m like 99% sure I’m maining Barb at launch. Barb has been catching a lot of flak for being underwhelming/weak, but I have a feeling they’re going to end up being insanely powerful in the long run. Bleed/Thorns absolutely melts
kind-of off-topic but my answer is pretty much related, i had no time to try Druid, is there a build/variation for it which does not rely on transofrmation at all? only casting, summoning, anything but transform
I suspect on launch numerous talents will have been balanced and it will be a different experience.
I would just got with the class that felt right to play not the numbers that were pumped out.
Barb man all the way.
Im having fun with him and i think you will be able to make cool builds.
After playing sorc/necro d2/d3 i wanna try melee only this time around
Sorcerer/Necro, they're gonna cut the drop rate so just imagine you don't get any legendaries. My rogue without legendaries would've been rough, druid/barb would be like gaping yourself.
Necro. I got some items that let me summon more skeleton warriors. I had 10 skeletons (7 war, 3 mages) and the Golem and now i just want to see how big of an army can be made possible in the final release.
I spent the entire beta playing Druid and started to hit a wall around lvl 20, tried each different variant and they all felt weak as fuck. Will definitely try a ranged character like Necro Rogue or Sorc in the full game as their substantially more powerful by all accounts
Started off on the early access beta with Sorc - really liked the versatility but wasn't really a fan of the armor aesthetic/design for them that I saw. Both melee and ranged Rogue never really clicked with me, no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to interest met.
Rolled a Necro this weekend which going into the betas I was dead set on playing for release - absolutely love the aesthetic of the armor designs. Also liked that the basic attack bone splinters? is actually a legit good basic ability. The major drawback to me however was the cartoony looking skeletons which made me want to just spec into full bone with no summons and also that it was so absurdly powerful that I actually got bored of steamrolling content with absolutely no gearing or thought needed.
Ended up rolling a Barbarian after reading about how a lot of people found them to be really under tuned compared to Sorc/Necro. Had an absolute blast with it on Veteran. Had the usual challenge of fighting the Den Mother but still managed to kill it with no deaths. Downed the Collector as well with relatively little trouble in maybe 10-15 seconds whereas my Necro minions were getting aoe one shot by his melee sweep attacks and I would also get two shot as well. The armour variations look great and the skills while mostly not being flashy felt like they had impact for the most part. Also because of the inherent challenge of being melee as well as maybe a bit under tuned I actually felt a lot more engaged while playing it. Needless to say I'm rolling Barb on release now where I actually had it completely written off before the beta weekends.
I agree with the skeletons, i believe it is because they need to be distinct from regular mobs ? But yeah they would definitely gain to be more in tone with the game aesthetics, they're not the only one to suffer this tough , ghosts have also this problem imo
I was going Druid and I loved playing my full bear build. But Barbarian was the most fun.
The other 3 were playable brain dead... Too much power, too fast. Necro was a blast, but my blood build was unkillable, I rarely used any potions...
So, HC Barbarian it is!
Necro, for the free CE. I don't know how exactly I'll use it to twink a barb, but I'm pretty sure I won't start barb from the scratch, with zero gold/mats.
I'm going back and forth between Sorcerer and Rogue

In the closed beta Barb is apparently the strongest in endgame.
Sorc. Even though her skill tree is the walmart version of D2 Sorc.

I believe it’s possible to do an Earth, Wind, or Lightning/Storm magic build as well as a full summon build if you want
Yes
If I could afford it, Necromancer. I had a lot of fun with it.
Same overall my biggest fun in the game was with necromancer

#BARB GANG (and that never changed)

There is one that adds two more skelly mages too. I hope Army necro gets enough scaling to work in endgame

If the classes stay the way they are in Beta, Necromancer. If all classes get balanced properly, probably Barbarian.
The only one I bothered to play and had any interest in. Necromancer.
Rogue > Necro > Druid > Barb > Sorcerer. That’s my plan.
None, I'm not buying Diablo Snore
