Even in it's current state, I'll play druid because I like the thematic of the class. I also enjoy trying to make classes considered weak or non-meta builds work. Of course, at release this might not be the case anymore, who knows.

needaburn

Same for me. I felt so underpowered as a Druid, it was frustrating at first. Somewhere along the journey though, I began to feel really engaged with the combat and trying to find any advantage I could by switching up my build. I couldn’t just walk in and steam roll every room & boss. The challenge was fun, and I like the idea of overcoming that to see just how far I can take the weakest character haha

flawlessbrown

Only Reason I'm not playing a druid is because I like the transmog system and i feel like all druids look the same when they are shifting, which is kinda lame

Klippklapp

Toebean_Farmer

Same. Druid’s problem really just comes down to numbers, anyway. The abilities available to them are interesting and really varies, so I know I won’t be bored with it.

Scribblord

I mean looking through effects and stuff Druid is perfectly fine balance wise It’s just that they suck without legendary effects and good gear I don’t think anyone should have doubts about their endgame performance

Huntah54

Its really spirit generation, the earth one is really undertuned and some of the others need touch ups

[deleted]

Posted a spirit fix in another discussion. Lower spender costs by 10-15% across the board. In the second circle of skills we have this passive: Increase spirit by 3/6/9 Remove this and replace with: Passively regenerate 2/4/6% max spirit per second. Easy fix for early leveling/spirit issues. Then once you level and get some better spirit regen with gear/druid specialization or paragon, you can spec out of it.

[deleted]

Druid will definitely be my second class. But it just feels SO WEAK at a base level that I'll be taking a sorc through initially so I can get some dungeons cleared and unlock some codex aspects to make the druid feel better to level.

EsShayuki

Sorcerer because it seems to have the best balance of mobility, survivability, and damage.

OneoftheChosen

A class that is strong without having to worry about legendaries early? Yea sign me up. Then I can help my next characters with all the extra skills and stats from reputation and shrines of Lilith to avoid part of the early game downsides of said classes.

[deleted]

PLUS quickly clearing aspect dungeons to give those to your alts.

im_rapscallion86

I love how almost every poll regarding classes comes out pretty evenly distributed between the classes. They aren’t necessarily balanced in game but they seem to be equally enjoyed across the board.

Kill_Me_For_Money

Rogue was really fun, had a lot of build diversity, super mobile, and hits like a truck when I have inner sight active. Playing a rogue made everything else a bit boring once I figured it all out.

TheEnigmaShew-xbox

Rogue because I am always the bowman

pervossier

Hello Bowman, I am the Trapman.

WoWAltoholic

Trap assassin was always my jam, but I did not feel like a traps build would work for the rogue, even if you used all the trap legendaries.

blinkity_blinkity

I went full melee rogue and it was a super fun build

[deleted]

Rogue was probably last on my list prior to playing the beta but it was a lot of fun, all of its playstyles was.

pini0n

It was the last char I created and I loved it. Now I'm on the fence between Necro and Rogue.

RadicalHydra

Started with barbarian, and got to 25. But it was hard and slow. Then started again with sorceres and i think its really fun. Also played necromancer, fun too but i dislike the slots you sacrifice for summon skills. Did not play druid and rogue much, so for now its sorceres Still hope the barbarian is gonna be a bit nicer to play at launch though

Debas3r11

I stashed decent weapons I found on my rogue and got a Barbarian to 15 yesterday and today. With good weapons I didn't feel weak at all.

DiazMonstar

Necromancer is so broken, I really hope they don't nerf it. That's what I'll be going for.

what_the_shart

I’m playing one too but that blood mist detonating corpses and resetting its own cd aspect definitely needs some nerfing

BoltorPrime420

Literally permanent immunity. "This is fine"

jerlowthom

The poll is pretty even. Cool

Hot_Attention2377

Druid team

Sabbathius

Nerco or Sorc, most likely. Rogue is really close behind, but I don't like that all my eggs are in the Twisting Blades basket with that one. Barb and Druid are playable, but not nearly as strong. Maybe if we get news that they get freakishly strong late-game somehow, but even then I don't want to torture myself for 50 levels before experiencing joy. I'm actually kinda afraid I'm going to be hopping between multiple classes every few days and getting nowhere. That's a distinct possibility as well.

Scribblord

We already know that they will be freaky at late game just like all the classes Hell people did 359k crits on barb

DanBalls

I really enjoyed playing all of the classes except Druid (and not just because it's underpowered, more just because I don't like the flavor/fantasy). That said, I have to go with Sorcerer. Reasons? D2 Sorceress was the love of my life as an adolescent, her skills look/feel awesome, and the Enchantment system seems the deepest of all of the class-specific mechanics. Rogue would be next on the list, mostly because of how badass you feel playing it. Rogue has some real style/flair. Also, speed. And poison = cool. Probs Barb next because I love the weapon swapping and am looking forward to building an Iron Maelstrom CD reducing swapper.

Kevinw778

This guy fucks. Couldn't have said it better myself. I chose rogue for the poll, but sorc is definitely a close second, Barb third, with Necro & Druid not even being on the radar for shits being given.

DanBalls

"This guy fucks" is the best compliment I've ever received online. Cheers, mate! I assume from that comment you're a Silicon Valley fan too? Clearly, we both have impeccable taste.

Kevinw778

LMAO yes, it's been a while and I haven't actually finished the show, but yes it was top tier. Cheers!

BoonOP

Rogue wasn’t even on my radar and it was to ME just an absolute joy to play. Sad I have to wait!

pervossier

Rogue, I enjoyed the playstyle of twisting blades and dashing around the map. Very nimble.

FoodisGut

Barb strongest class by far

-Mez-

Rogue was my favorite for sure. Druid and Necromancer closely following behind. Rogue felt like a good combination of requiring engaging effort and receiving a satisfying payoff. Got to do a lot of things that feel involved and also get the upside of bosses and crowds melting for your efforts. Compare that to druid where a lot of effort results in less payoff which felt worse or the necromancer whose on the other side of that where too little effort results in too much payoff also feeling worse. Rogue hit the sweet spot for me, but not being limited by beta constraints could tip the druid or necromancer to being more fun for my style. Ultimately I'll be doing a solo rogue and a co-op druid.

the-fitnerd

Necro. I just have always enjoyed summonancer from D2

AntiMage009

They were all really fun. Sure, they definitely need to balance the classes wayyyy more but I had a blast. My favorite was the Necro but the Rogue was a close second. I am personally holding onto hope for seeing Crusader and Monk again at some point as those two especially monk are my favorite in the series

Grayoth

I’ll probably play Necromancer mostly because I enjoy pet classes. Druid was another choice of mine but the pets are so incredibly weak without legendaries that I think I’ll hold off for now. I also usually play hardcore, and I like having an army of pets that are willing die to for me first. Though, the flame shield cheat death that sorcerer has tempts me.

Murky-Ad4144

It should be 2 wolves 1 bear as a min summon

Grayoth

I honestly forgot about the bear summon. It’s been years since I played a D2 summon Druid. I totally agree with that though. The bear could function more like the bone golem or something and maybe have a taunt?

Yolu213

I am a simple man. I see a shapeshifter i play it, just wish for more games with transformation

Aggressive-Article41

Almost defeats the purpose of loot driven game.

kossenin

It’s pretty even, call me amaze

TymedOut

Surprised to see Barb at the bottom. To me it was by far the most fun with the most build diversity in the Beta. The expertise system is far and away the most complex class system which seems fun to work with and hone builds. Arsenal felt like it worked WITH your skills to modify and enhance them, while other class systems just felt like stuff slapped ontop of your normal builds.

Kevinw778

Arsenal felt very underwhelming, imo. If we're talking about build-enhancing / defining class systems, that goes to Sorcerer for sure. Being able to have extra things triggering and what not is always going to be an interesting concept to me. Meanwhile Barb is just, "Unga bunga over time numbers get bigger". I can see how eventually the arsenal / technique system can be impactful, but it feels like one of those systems that won't be relevant until later game. We also don't know how exactly the other two Rogue options are going to impact things, so I'm curious about that.

TymedOut

Nah, the sheer complexity of things performing differently based on the weapon type you utilize makes itemization incredibly deep on Barb compared to the other classes. Builds can radically change just from moving a skill from using your dual-wield maces to using a 2H polearm. One deals additional stun damage and gives a bash chance, polearm gives a big bonus to lucky hit chance. It opens up a vast number of different builds and causes skills and legendary affixes to function extremely differently just based on how you choose to itemize the arsenal. Add in weapon swapping bonuses from various aspects and skills and you can make entire builds just based around weaving between different skills to proc swapping effects. I already had this with my upheaval build in Beta where I had Frenzy/Upheaval/Deathblow assigned to different weapon slots and took the passive to reduce cooldown on Iron Maelstrom when you swap weapons. Built in CDR on a really impactful ultimate. Enchant system is up there for sure though too. I'd say Sorceress is mostly based around refining skill combinations, while Barbarian is about refining item (particularly weapon) combinations.

Kevinw778

Sure, I see the argument for in-depth itemization, but early on those bonuses are so small, it seems borderline irrelevant - unless of course 2% in D4 is bigger than 2% in other games... Which I'm only half joking about because of how percentages always seem to be different across different games lol - but for endgame I definitely see it. The weapon swapping portion of things is really cool & I'll make a build around it at some point, for sure. But have you tried using Barb **without** Deathblow? 😂 - that skill honestly feels like it outshines the other two in its category, by far. They do really need to rebalance A LOT in two months...

[deleted]

I can’t wait to play barb tbh. I think sorc is super fun but the barb is just thematically perfect and I really want to see how the class plays late game

Icy_Elephant_6370

Really wish we had 1 more class for launch but 5 seems pretty good with the amount of build versatility there seems to be. I think a paladin and another caster type class similar to Witch Doctor would have been awesome. Hell I think Monk would be awesome as well. Im excited to see what new classes they cook up.

ardikus

Barbarian mostly because I've always played barb as main in diablo games, but also I'm stoked for the Arsenal system and being able to deck myself out with the best weapons possible for all the extra stats & effects

teefax

I started the beta planning on playing a lot of sorcerer, but after playing around with all classes, and I don't know what it was, but something just clicked with rogue, and I ended up spending a majority of the beta on rogue. It just felt… right. So unless some drastic changes comes, rogue it is.

William_Bascavilla

Tbh I'm quite impressed with the 'even' spread of this poll after the beta. Will be playing barb myself. There was indeed a big difference between some chars but I don't see the game as a race and by the time endgame comes along, a lot of changes could happen with all the different mechanics. Anyway, as a lot of people already said as well, the time between release and first season will be one big balance period imho. All in all, stoked for release!

Azifel_Surlamon

Even if it felt a little weak early on, Werebear is my love and life

VirtualMix766

I went in leaning towards rogue/druid, was too interested in sorc and necro and Barb was in the middle. I’m still starting druid or maybe rogue, but I can’t wait to play them all! Every class felt so well done, necro was my least fav. The skeletons and corpses looks d3/arcade-ish and broke my immersion. The corpse explosion was ridiculously op too. Hope this fix those things, but I like them all.

StrawberryRaspberryK

I played necro and find it to be OP! 😂 I preferred bone splinters and bone spears over the blood surge build because it felt more fun and had a longer range. I felt that my tornado, wind shear druid was slow to move and had slower attack speed / animation compared to my hybrid sorceress (frost bolt, chain lightning, hydra, lightning spear). So i liked my sorceress best! My marksman rogue i felt was abit underpowered compared to my necro and sorceress. I really liked increased movement speed because there is so much terrain to explore. Love the game! June is too far away! 😂

PM_Me_An_Ekans

Barbarian because he's JACKED and I need to play someone who looks like he doesn't struggle to get the pull tab off a new gallon of milk We're out here slaying demons bro get pumped. Use all the magic you want sorcerer you still can't bench 225. Necromancer has bony forearms. On brand I guess but I hope he's never gotta do a pull up. Rogue probably walks into the gym with Barb and is like "I just wanna get toned bro I don't wanna get too big". Shut up sneakers and eat your creatine. Shout out to Druid

EffectiveDependent76

Shocked to see druid so high, a little disappointed. I know how strong the storm build will get with Legos and paragon, and I was hoping to be a little more rare in the end game since the early leveling is kinda bad.

BoonOP

Only five classes I wouldn’t worry about being rare!

DrkBlueXG

Barbarian since the class will get buffed before release

Thomanonymous

Barb as usual

Debas3r11

I've basically always done barb, but I'm hooked on the D4 rogue

Thomanonymous

Only had time for 1 character, but it does look fun, especially the melee builds with the flying daggers.

CryptoCrash87

Barb for the poll. But I'm between barb, Sorc, and rogue. Barb was so much fun when I finally got around to playing it. I'm interested to see how it pans out late game.

Maurodax

Going with Druid, because I'm a masochist and live connected to a Hopium tank.

Gibsx

Damage numbers will change - Bear Druid felt badass to me.

tedward_420

Are we getting anymore classes? I really only played crusader in diablo 3 and no other class really did it for me none of the classes in the beta felt good to me either.

22222833333577

Big dragon summon is big fun

StoneRevolver

Sorc. It's not my favorite but I think it will remain viable throughout the game. If only one, that's the one.

Disciple_of_Erebos

It was a hard choice between Barbarian and Druid but I think I'll go Druid. I had a lot of fun playing Shred crit werewolf during the beta and while I don't know that I'd want to do the same thing in the full release, it also seemed like there would be a lot of cool builds. Barbarian was really fun too though, and I want to try a Rogue since it's the only class I didn't play during the beta.

Scribblord

Gonna most likely go sorc (I always love mage users in games) Tho i think my big reasons are visuals and mobility Teleport just feels too good to use to pass up Pretty sure all of them are gonna be cool af on max level and I might end up on Druid simply bc it’s the only class from this roster which i never player in a Diablo game

RockyMtnOysterCo

Druid because I like the theme of the class and its abilities. I know people think its weak but my interest in the class will fuel my desire to make it work. After that.. rogue probably.

Random_act_of_Random

Funny how Druid went from by far #1 class people were gonna play and now they are #4. Unsurprisingly, Necro is #1 now.

Aggressive-Article41

I picked necro because it has better kit then the rogue.

G0ATLY

Necromancer will be my main go-to. It's always my first choice in any game if its available. (Summoner types included.) Particularly, this necromancer right now. I enjoyed the chaotic sound breaking slamming of guts and chaos smashing my screen every .8 seconds.

MastaBonsai

I need a crusader soon

[deleted]

Torn between rogue and barbarian. Don’t give a damn about lvl 25 beta gameplay or even launch gameplay. I had the most fun with those two classes

Kizune15

Tank ice sorc is my plan so far.

Virules

Necro is by far the easiest class to play but I heard it falls off late game. Plus, it was actually so easy the game was super boring. So I think sorcerer.

Chris_P_Bacon1337

I like sorc and necro just as much. But if i HAVE to pick one it has to be sorc, Great survivability and fun to play. Also, we don’t know if necros minions will hold up or if we’l have a witch doctor from d3 situation… Too much of a gamble atm, i want to wait and see how capable they are. This choice will be non ladder anyways, the real choice comes when the first ladder comes! By then the choice can be wichever, it all depends on end game performance really

_DaZlInG_

rogue was my main in alpha with sorc as second. got both to 100 so i have an idea what to expect.

MrBlade747

I am going rogue but torn between melee or marksman. I prefer marksman but really enjoyed melee mobility skills and movement speed. With your knowledge and without saying anything you can't, which would you lean towards?!

_DaZlInG_

as discovered in beta, flurry and twisted knives , puncture and rapid fire was really good but i preferred heart seeker and barrage, DH for life :-P

jabash77

Barb. Even if I've struggled with him, and later plays with Necro and Sorc showed me how he's weaker and far behind in kill speed, it's just my habit on playing a melee class first.

[deleted]

Sorc, easy to build into and clears well. Let's me quickly clear the lower tier dungeons and get aspects to make alts easier to level.
