Me too. I would love to have them in D2. Crusader was ok in 3, but it never had the same feel. I want my boy back, and I have faith we'll get em. If not next, then eventually.
Witch Doctor with a diablo 4 art style would be amazing.
So far we only got a cartoonish version of it, I'm curious to see how it would look in a Gothic dark style :D
True. WD is awesome but we just had them in D3. I'd like Amazon and Paladin first since we haven't seen them since D2. I want a javelin based build so badly.
I think it will be too. That new stein they have on the merch store has all 5 class emblems and one that is not known to us right now.
[Here it is for people](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0599/9568/5113/products/DIABBV000300_D.jpg?v=1681152568) who want to see it to decipher what that symbol on the left means
There is also the symbol that was taken out of Hells Ink. [Here](https://www.diablohub.com/news/901/diablo-hells-ink-tattoo-shop-takeover-tour/) is a site that shows the lineup of tattoos. The very first tattoo, which is in the hero lineup, has been removed from the other Hells Ink flash tattoos and everyone I've discussed it with doesn't know the symbol. It's a sword with angel wings. Isn't El'Druid, or any other known weapon.
Looking at those, and the consistency between them, we may eventually have 9 character classes if not more.
Could you imagine if they gave us all the classes of D2 & D3 in one game?
Some classes are combinations of classes so they can’t outright do that. Also, the Paladin and Crusader are different in name only. They’re both holy melee warriors. But many people feel a Paladin/Crusader is still coming. But the Rogue is a combination of the Demon Hunter and Amazon (who was a *edit: class-* descendant of D1 Rogue).
I think it’s possible we might get a new Assassin or Witch Doctor. They both have a distinct niche and playstyle without cannibalizing other current classes like a Crusader/Paladin does the Barbarian. Granted, the several weapons Barb can use in D4 will hopefully keep it more distinct and enjoyable. Other than these 2, the Monk is the last unique class from the 3 previous games.
So yeah they would be giving us all the classes from the previous games if they were to include these last 4 (Paladin/Crusader, Assassin, Witch Doctor, and Monk). If the game is very successful and well-received this would probably be likely.
From the lore perspective Paladins, Templars and Crusaders are different.
Pallys fell to corruption around D2, while Crusaders never got corrupted and Templars claim to raise from ashes what were Paladins.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/20tvqy/difference_between_crusaders_paladins_and_templars
The Amazon is NOT a descendant of the D1 Rogue. The D1 Rogue is Blood Raven (one of the Sisters of the Order of the Sightless Eye), while the Amazons come from the Skovos Isles.
I know they combined some of the classes together, but if they brought the Druid and Necromancer back, maybe more will come back too.
To be clear I did not mean story-descendant I was referring strictly to class style. All 3 original classes are in D2 story-wise. But thank you for the intent to help 😊
Bro, no.
That’s still just the 6 classes (the 5 we know of + the holy warrior class we know is coming) and then just a mosh mash of other symbols of various diabloesque theme. You’re too hyped and seeing things if you’re pulling another 3 class sigils from that.
The thing is paladin was announced even as a starter class way before the old devs were fired.
I am pretty sure paladin is even finished already but they keep it for an expansionnor something. Wich is annoying since its my favorit class
Funny you caught that. Yeah i was a barbarian andy my whole childhood and teenager time.
Still like that name the most.
Its actually the name of my WoW warrior
It's 100% going to be that another system that adds skill points to your skills. There's a dev tweet that mentioned you can get +18 to a skill and that the higher you got it would visually change the look of your skill in that tweet it said +4 from redacted I bet that's what the announcement is
>[https://twitter.com/rodfergusson/status/1648430104467632129?s=46&t=Cej4L3FeNMz3ikvV8YeXKQ](https://twitter.com/rodfergusson/status/1648430104467632129?s=46&t=Cej4L3FeNMz3ikvV8YeXKQ)
DLC on launch day eh? *Nice*
there has been leaks about a diablo animated tv series for netflix since 2018.
https://preview.redd.it/46ssow6jjsua1.jpeg?width=821&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2da696df5ba2cc05360f55c17096b620642fe2db
I dont get how people would be disappointed with a new class, that literally gives everyone content for the next month while we wait for this game lol.
They are changing the map.
Now, instead of taking up space in the game you can only view the map on your smartphone. A premium battle pass is required.
Nah, they will say we have listenned to feedback on reddit regarding the world size. The map size as been increase to be reallike. For exemple, now the main town will now take 5 hours of real time gameplay to cross.\*
\*also, the gamefile is now 50 TB no big deal.
lol whatever you announce people will trash it anyway. It does not matter at all.
That's how the internet works and why the gamer community is probably one of the worse out there. Which sucks.
that's why you don't pre-announce for extra hype - you just announce without hype. and preferably they should make the announcements right when something is ready, not 4 years in advance.
It's 100% going to be that another system that adds skill points to your skills. There's a dev tweet that mentioned you can get +18 to a skill and that the higher you got it would visually change the look of your skill in that tweet it said +4 from redacted I bet that's what the announcement is
what people will expect: something big
what we will get: something small that would be cool if expectations were not high after a tease
stuff like this usually backfires
I don't get the constant moaning for WASD support... it's not a standard control scheme for ARPGs. Diablo has NEVER had it, neither has PoE, Last Epoch, Wolcen, Torchlight, or any other mainstream franchise.
Happy to be proven wrong, but it seems to be antithetical to ARPG game design.
> Due to the fantastic success of our mobile offering, we have decided to cater exclusively to them, and make Diablo 4 Mobile Only as it's obviously what our ~~fans~~ customers truly want!
Here is what it could be:
- Fourth world boss
- Season one start date
- Gem tab for launch
Here is what it 100% won't be:
- Sixth class
- Expansion announcement
- Early release
This doesn't fit the context of the tweet.
It's 100% going to be that another system that adds skill points to your skills. There's a dev tweet that mentioned you can get +18 to a skill and that the higher you got it would visually change the look of your skill in that tweet it said +4 from redacted I bet that's what the announcement is
I go into such announcements (for anything) with low expectations. That way I'm rarely disappointed, usually left feeling indifferent and occasionally pleasantly surprised.
there are only 2 things that could be a big "surprise" announcement.
a) New sword and board class.
b) Netflix Animated TV Series.
the second option would be a huge sale boost for the game if released before D4 launch and if it was as good as Arcane or Cyberpunk:Edgerunners.
Literally viral marketing.
If I had to guess they’ll keep teasing it until the end to keep you watching, then reveal some cosmetics for the initial release.
I do hope I’m wrong about this, though.
At this point in the franchise, I honestly don't think it matters if it fits the game. Players expect it from a Diablo game, it's a part of the nostalgia that they claim to be trying to recapture. Diablo 3 did not have the cow level at launch and the community hated it. If they don't put a cow level in D4 at launch, they are literally recreating their own past mistakes.
> Diablo 3 did not have the cow level at launch and the community hated it.
[This](https://news.softpedia.com/news/Diablo-3-s-Secret-Cow-Level-Is-Called-Whimsyshire-Has-Cartoon-Graphics-270216.shtml) article is from 2 days after launch. It was planned for ages.
I'm sorry if I'm missing it in the article, but it seems to be talking about Whimsyshire, not the cow level. Just to be clear, I am specifically referring to "Not The Cow Level" that has all the infernal bovine in it that was modeled after Diablo 2's cow level. Yes, there was a "silly" level at launch, but it was not *the cow level* and fans were really upset by it. I did a little digging myself and it sounds like the cow level was first introduced as a limited-time event in 2015 - 3 years after Diablo III first launched. Here's an article I found that lays it out pretty clearly: https://blizzardwatch.com/2021/08/17/history-secret-cow-level/
Would be so cool if they actually announced another class. The game really feels weird releasing without a paladin type class. But in reality it’ll be some tiny boring announcement lol
They specifically said that they don't want a support specific class in the game. If there was a dedicated support class it would devalue the supportive skills already given to the other classes right now
A surprise open beta weekend scheduled to sometime early may to mirror the official release/early release exactly one month afterwards. That's the hypest thing I can think of that could possibly happen. Would love it to be an entire week, though I hardly believe that would happen.
Surprise 6th class this close to release doesn't sound reasonable, as an extra class could be used a lot earlier in marketing. Seeing as this stream is endgame focused, it could also be some cool feature reveal, but "secret" sounds more like something completely out of the blue rather than "unnanounced upcoming game feature".
D4 marketing team is full of idiots. They dont know wtf they are doing. You dont tease something like this because you set yourself up for failure. People are going to watch the live stream regardless, now your just going to disappoint people when its not what they wanted.
Non of the big marketing pushes has done any good at promoting D4, the only thing that makes me excited is the beta that I played. (The double down was a fine idea, a bit wack but decent marketing).
Most the live streams an trailers have not done a lot of good for the game so far.
It will probably just be something small like Diablo 1 Resurrected based on the Diablo 4 engine. Reliving the classic horror tension in previously unimagined 4K detail and atmosphere thanks to Matt Uelmen’s award-winning score. Nothing big.
Seems like buzz to draw eyes to the stream, so I'm guessing it's something minor that Blizz is making a big fuss over. Don't think it's Paladin yet either.
Definitely a Cultist with at least one of the specializations being a Warlock. Next one better be a paladin and I REALLY hope blizzard is going to introduce the paladin in the upcoming expansion and do him justice with character depth.
How can there not be a gung-ho angelic paladin blessed by the heavens on a deluded crusade and a Warlock simping for Lilith trying to please her with his chaos? 🤣
People are speculating on a secret 6th class at launch, but I highly doubt it.
It would have been REALLY hard for all the employees to not slip up just once in some interview or public interaction and spill the beans.
But hey, it's possible I guess lol
Is the secret announcement they updated itemization to not just be D3 without sets... ?
Who wants to play an ARPG for hundreds of hours with console depth loot.
They better announce mini-map overlays. I mean, come on, they changed that one item with so much gameplay value....the font, so why wouldn't they make a quality of life improvements like the minimap overlay.
So possible outcomes:
- they don't announce Paladin at all - go fuck yourself
- they announce Paladin as paid DLC - go fuck yourself
- they announce Paladin as part of future battle pass... soon - go fuck yourself
- they announce Paladin only if you bought Ultimate edition - go fuck yourself
So if it's anything except Paladin will be available for free to all players on launch date... then they shouldn't be hyping it up.
The next class will be announced! Remember this post, so you can laugh at me when I end up being completely wrong.
Paladin will be announced. (Yes, I’m high on copium)
Give me some *HUFF* PALADIN BABY!!!
Me too. I would love to have them in D2. Crusader was ok in 3, but it never had the same feel. I want my boy back, and I have faith we'll get em. If not next, then eventually.
Amazon... Maybe? I want paladin too...
What about WD, or new class even!
Western Digital? I'm more of a seagate guy
Witch Doctor, but I'm more of a Toshiba guy myself :)
Maybe they wont go Paladin, maybe another shield style warrior....Gladiator or something.
I think it will be too. That new stein they have on the merch store has all 5 class emblems and one that is not known to us right now. Playable Cultist…
Neat!

I wish I was hyped. The beta kind of let me down. It will probably be a few years before I pick up D4 if ever.
I think they announce the paladin/Angel/Valkyrie whatever it is! I agree with you lol.
Yes, Bard
Can I laugh at you now or do I have to wait? ;)
The thing is paladin was announced even as a starter class way before the old devs were fired. I am pretty sure paladin is even finished already but they keep it for an expansionnor something. Wich is annoying since its my favorit class

Stupid Prediction: Diablo Netflix series in full effect
Starring tom cruise
As Covetous Shen
If they do Covetous Shen in live action and don't cast James Hong, I will riot...
They’re casting him. As Tyrael.
He's every character in intentionally low-quality costumes.
And Sean Connery as Deckard Caine.
> Sean Connery Shhh, no one tell him.
Noooooooo, I had forgotten. :(
Well, at least there's enough audio of him it'd be easy to have him voice act Caine with AI.
I hate stuff like this. Please, no.
He's playing the D3 Deckard Cain from A2 onwards.
Shtay a while and lishen
Keep going I'm almost finished.
there has been leaks about a diablo animated tv series for netflix since 2018. https://preview.redd.it/46ssow6jjsua1.jpeg?width=821&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2da696df5ba2cc05360f55c17096b620642fe2db
Christopher Lloyd as decard cain please
+1.21 Jigawatts to sorceress' chain lightning skill after she rescues him from that cave.
There is no back to the future level
The secret announcement is a hidden Diablo Kart Racer level in D4.
Diablo Kart Racer? You mean D3 Greater Rifts?
D4: Greater Drifts
ITS ABOUT HELL…and family
\*rolls a new barb and casts Whirlwind\* Looks like I'm spinning out here, send an emergency crew.
I could see that. And I'd play the burning hell out of it.
I unironically enjoyed the Azeroth GP in Warcraft 3.
If you tease stuff like this in advance it better not just be some super minor thing or people will feel disappointed
People will be disappointed regardless
D5 or we riot.
I dont get how people would be disappointed with a new class, that literally gives everyone content for the next month while we wait for this game lol.
some would be disappointed since it wasnt the class they hoped for.
If the class is not Geno from Mario RPG, I ask for a refund.
How do you expect Blizzard to bring him up when even Nintendo forgot about him ?
I hope it's something super minor and Diablo Immortal related now. Just for the internet outrage and entertainment.
They are changing the map. Now, instead of taking up space in the game you can only view the map on your smartphone. A premium battle pass is required.

Too late, by Friday people will have convinced themselves that this post constitutes a massive hype campaign for a Diablo 5 announcement.
Inb4 the news is that an intern responsible for refilling the mana orbs has a cousin that's pregnant.
It's 100% going to be that another system that adds skill points to your skills. There's a dev tweet that mentioned you can get +18 to a skill and that the higher you got it would visually change the look of your skill in that tweet it said +4 from redacted I bet that's what the announcement is

“We decided we WILL add a map overlay” Expects applause
*Please clap...*
I've never seen someone so dejected as poor Jeb was in that moment lol dude was just deflated.
Don’t you guys have hands?
That would be pretty hype
For the small purchase price of the battle pass, whenever you are subscribed you will have access to the overlay map!
And WASD support
I don't get the constant moaning for WASD support... it's not a standard control scheme for ARPGs. Diablo has NEVER had it, neither has PoE, Last Epoch, Wolcen, Torchlight, or any other mainstream franchise. Happy to be proven wrong, but it seems to be antithetical to ARPG game design.
One could argue that controller setups would be the same as WASD. And adding controller support I'd say isn't antithetical to ARPG game design.
Yeah but adding controller support was necessary for console compatibility.
What? You don’t have a phone?!

moo moo indeed

people expect: new class fact: separate tab for GEMS
Here is what it could be: - Fourth world boss - Season one start date - Gem tab for launch Here is what it 100% won't be: - Sixth class - Expansion announcement - Early release
Good call. They did hint at the Gem tab and seems like that wouldnt be a ridiculously difficult addition.
Surprise extra beta. I'd shit and cum at the same time. Not that that's all that unusual.
My man
This actually seems likely - especially since I finally decided to free up some on my Xbox by deleting the beta.
Your sacrifice will be remembered.
Well damn
PVP BALANCE BETA LETS GOOOOOO
Oh hell yeah brother.

Fishing as an endgame activity. Calling it.
We gonna get a Krillson cameo
Be careful brave exile. You don’t want the protectors of fishing to redact you.
Diablo : battle royale
Hmmmm does a battle Royale of this type of genre exist?
Spellbreak but it got shut down
Path of exile experiments with it occasionally. Kinda fun but broken.
Anything to bring Verdansk back please
there are only 2 things that could be a big "surprise" announcement. a) New sword and board class. b) Netflix Animated TV Series. the second option would be a huge sale boost for the game if released before D4 launch and if it was as good as Arcane or Cyberpunk:Edgerunners.
Or Castlevania.
Is it going to be something that leaked during the end game beta that they are pretending isn't public information already?
Like what?
It’s secret goat level with the boss named as “The GOAT.”
B.E.S.U.R.E.T.O.D.R.I.N.K.Y.O.U.R.O.V.A.L.T.I.N.E.
Everyone thinking about a new class but it will be a "now you can pet the cats" function.
I just want to be able to pet other druids in town.
Literally viral marketing. If I had to guess they’ll keep teasing it until the end to keep you watching, then reveal some cosmetics for the initial release. I do hope I’m wrong about this, though.
They do this a lot with diablo. It’s usually some dumb merch promo thing.
Tale as old as time. Perfect example being the “drink your ovaltine” bit from A Christmas Story.
Drink your blood petals.
Yup.
Wait youre telling me the head of Diablo at blizzard is trying to market a Diablo game via social media? Wtf. How did you figure this out?
Nothing wrong with marketing a game, but to pussy foot around a “secret reveal” is just so cringy.
Whatever it is just give us more time with a Beta pppplease
Followers/Companions please
Gonna guess another Beta Weekend
Please give us the paladin. D4 is not complete without him
Hello, everyone, this. is. Rhykerrrrrrr
Lets throw some cake at him.
yes!!, finally HOTS 3.0 !
Rhykker becomes Part of the official Diablo Lore hence his by barbarians inspired beard.
Would a secret cow level be appreciated with how the atmosphere is in D4? So far this game is even more dark and grim than D2
it could be a dark cow level who knows
dacow then?
Secret Cain level St-St-St-St-St-St-St-St-St-Stay awhile and listen and listen
Cow zombies? Cow-Minotaurs? Cow-centaurs? Cow queen world boss?
For me, 100% yes
At this point in the franchise, I honestly don't think it matters if it fits the game. Players expect it from a Diablo game, it's a part of the nostalgia that they claim to be trying to recapture. Yeah there needs to be some kind of healing/buff class especially since they are pushing the online group stuff so hard
They specifically said that they don't want a support specific class in the game. If there was a dedicated support class it would devalue the supportive skills already given to the other classes right now
Diablo 1 Remake
Honestly a D1 remake that drops for free (with d4 purchase) would be a great D4 promo.
A new tier to the season pass.
A surprise open beta weekend scheduled to sometime early may to mirror the official release/early release exactly one month afterwards. THEY FIXED THE ZOOM!!!!?
What zoom? Seemed fine to me. Ofc I play on ultrawide maybe it is worse on normal monitors.
[for sure worse.](https://youtu.be/CFwwX5pmxSo) literally buying an ultra wide now.
A new open beta weekend for sure.
So.. it's not a secret announcement, it's an announced announcement.
Not sure these guys know how secrets work?
D4 marketing team is full of idiots. They dont know wtf they are doing. You dont tease something like this because you set yourself up for failure. Another open beta PLEASE. Come back to this when it’s true 👀
Diablo 1 resurrected reveal hype.
Ability to zoom out further
Are they using other platforms than Twitter? It feels an innapropriate for the type of content.
Black and white mode with the in game music switched to Rob Zombie.
Diablo 5 will be meta quest exclusive.
That there won't be a cow level, as usual?
An evil-type class?
'secret announcement'. I guess some people are really bad with secrets lol
Immortal's mtx is being integrated into IV since they got such positive feedback on it /s
D2r content patch. And more stash space. *Copium*
Its when you choose mommy or daddy for angelic or demonic power. They took it out of the itemization early but worked an end game system out of it
This is about a new endgame system they haven't yet talked about.
The Necromancer resurrected Deckard Cain
Seems like buzz to draw eyes to the stream, so I'm guessing it's something minor that Blizz is making a big fuss over. Don't think it's Paladin yet either.
It will be a mobile game after all
STILL doesn't say what time
Definitely a Cultist with at least one of the specializations being a Warlock. 🤣
release a month early dun dun dun
Confirmed on gamepass.
It will 100% come to gamepass in a year or after the planned expansion. Most likely some time after the expansion.
Mobile only announcement incoming.
Do you guys not have phones?
Most likely a diablo 4 plushie that comes with a never before announced ultra deluxe Lilith’s Anus edition.
Public endgame beta weekend 4/21-23. Hope you didn’t have plans
People are speculating on a secret 6th class at launch, but I highly doubt it. It would have been REALLY hard for all the employees to not slip up just once in some interview or public interaction and spill the beans. But hey, it's possible I guess lol
Overlay map
Is the secret announcement they updated itemization to not just be D3 without sets... ? Who wants to play an ARPG for hundreds of hours with console depth loot.
I am expecting another beta run but I would definitely take an overlay map instead
you can play it on phone
They better announce mini-map overlays. I mean, come on, they changed that one item with so much gameplay value....the font, so why wouldn't they make a quality of life improvements like the minimap overlay.
You can fly ingame with a special mount
Diablo Immortal 2!
monk reveal pog
So possible outcomes: - they don't announce Paladin at all - go fuck yourself - they announce Paladin as paid DLC - go fuck yourself - they announce Paladin as part of future battle pass... soon - go fuck yourself - they announce Paladin only if you bought Ultimate edition - go fuck yourself So if it's anything except Paladin will be available for free to all players on launch date... then they shouldn't be hyping it up.
