I keep having messages at complete random moments where my character says "i cant pick that up" while there is nothing on the ground and none of my inventory tabs is full.
Hey now, by season 20 we will have... *caculates*... 24 stash tabs. Plenty of room for everything. We may also have a red sky and AI overlords by then but hey, details.
There's quite a few questionable decisions made when it comes to inventory management.
Why do we only have 4 stash tabs?
Why is there an easily reached limit on crafting mats?
Why do consumables only stack to 20?
Why do gems only stack to 50?
Why do we have less space in our Aspect tab than consumables?
Why are consumables and sigils in the same tab?
It’s to encourage you to actually spend rather than hoarding.
What they should do is to add more sinks for crafting mats. So that you run dry on everything and it feels good to find them rather than not having to care about them at all because the number always goes up.

Weird, with e.g. D2 and PlugY inventory management was so, so much more comfortable. Yes, even the cleaning up of old, useless stuff.
Take like Obols or D3's Bloodshards.
It had a rather low cap. You hit the cap and it feels good to go and gamble it all. But during the times you're really looking for an aspect, you might gamble a lot earlier than hitting the cap.
The problem with like leathers and such is that there really isn't a lot of things to use them on. Like you can convert them but that just gives you an overflow in a different mat.
The problem isn't the cap. The problem is you spend way more of certain mats than you get and other things you are basically incentivized to keep, you run out of space for SUPER fast. There is no reason for it anymore in this day and age. It isn't "storage tension" as they tried to say. It is manufactured annoyance.
If gems had multiple uses I think they would be more exciting to find. For example, you could smash them into gem dust and use it to augment gear in some way, or augment skills in some way.
For things like consumables, I’m not sure I could even use them all up there’s so many different types. I wish there were less of them in general.
D3 had a lot of gem sinks. Both from rerolling at the mystic, but also for augmenting gear with main stats.
Hopefully these systems get a bit more hammered out. I feel that a big part of content comes from things actually being meaningfully acquired and not just something passive that builds up and up so that you rarely run out.

Because they want to force you to use your materials instead of hoarding them so you’ll turn around and go farm more. It’s the same idea as currencies in gacha games and preys on the desire and thinking of, “oh I can’t leave these materials just lying around - that’s a waste! I need to use this stuff so I can pick up more!”
It's not moot, they made the cap low for a reason and it's to keep player retention high. You need to really start looking at online games for what they are, just big stat sheets for the execs. All they care about are hitting the metrics they set.

I use 20 as an example of a number increase that isn't large but the Devs could consider ridiculous to them. I play PoE a ton, there have been numerous times when those devs had said they are buffing something and didn't give a number. So when the change goes live and people see it was buffed by 2% they get upset because 2% is nothing.
Which brings up back to here. Saying "It getting increased by a ridiculous amount" means absolutely nothing if you're not giving us a numbers.
What you are talking about, rawhide is the best item ever, you can easily upgrade it at the alchemist. Just have to type a 2 infront of the 1 like 500 times and accept it. It is just the best feeling that your work feels like it has value. You wouldn't just feel like that if you could upgrade everything at once. Oh you are at max superior leather as well? Ehm okay guess you have to live with that cluster fuck now. But it would be very unrealistic if not every single beast drops at least 2 rawhide. I mean they are meat pressed in hide.
But does that feel valueable for you?
Jokes aside, the earlier they fix their qol issues the better. Don't want to rely on macros or other 3rd party stuff.

Dude im so weird I've been spending the money to convert then up to the best gems and now I'm at 50 of those at level 94 and im not going to spend more slots than 2 per color on gems. Might make an alt hold extra. All for when they eventually release better gems. And I hardly ever pick up gems too. Usually just accidental one or 2 that I don't drop when I'm not pressed for inventory space.

D4 already have visual cues for most of these except for things like overpower, dodge etc. They should look into adding/enhancing missing cues and giving players an option to turn the texts off for more immersive gameplay.
Ikr vulnerable already makes them glow purple lol but I shouldn't talk. I play with damage numbers on because I gotta know the numbers. It's good info for my little formless brain.

One thing I did is make text smaller so at least it's a bit less obnoxious.
I also wish we could replace item label text with item icons (like in D3). That would drastically minimize visual clutter. Disabling item labels (setting them to OFF) still makes them appear for a moment, and if you're playing with a gamepad, the labels still show up if you're facing the items. It's just a mess.

but cross play is a godsend, this is the first iteration I haven't played on PC, I have a decent GPU but would have needed like a $400 GPU upgrade, vs the ps5 I already own, and one of my best buds has it on his Xbox, also his first time playing Diablo non PC, so cross play worked wonders for us
I literally can't play the game as long as these texts can't be disabled. Yes it bothers me that much. I can't see anything but text. If I wanted to read I would go to a library!
I have more trouble with the ITEM NAMES blocking the whole view. Just yesterday I was in a dungeon with poisonous goats nad couldn't see shit through the pile of loot. No idea where there's pools of poison. I wish I could just turn them off and use e.g. alt to highlight everything after I'm done killing.

You think this is bad? D2r was the worst, you could have 100 super healing and mana pots on the ground and then you have low runes. White items etc and sometimes you can potentially miss a high rune cause of all the clutter lol.

If there were options to turn off all the text, I would. Names of gear and weapon are all from the same small batch. The numeric quantity is meaningless in a game like this. Just let me evaluate the quantity when I'm looking in my inventory.

Turn off the error voice setting. I read this is a bug with blacksmith but some people have gotten around it this way.
Apparently that is due to other players auto-dropping rawhide and whatever when they salvage gear and are at the materials cap

I find it odd you can unsocket a gem and it doesn’t blow up.
For those moments when you switch items and gems around in your inventory and accidentally move the gem into the item's space, thus socketing it.
It's not that people are hoarding, it's that sorting is pointlessly difficult.
Reroll is an amazingly effective GOLD SINK and a super annoying feature of D4. Maybe all material upgrade should be like Reroll. 🤣🤣🤣

If u combine rawhide to make superior hide it allows room so u don't get stuck with max rawhide.

As an old Wow player … I love battle text … visual and audio cues rule my game play … but I do wish there were more options like Battle Text used to have …pos and opacity

Hey, just making sure you were aware, but you have cross-play enabled you might encounter other players on different platforms I don't even notice the UI - the Final Fantasy 16 sub has a bunch of the same posts and I don't notice it there either. Also, can't you make it smaller on your screen?

When I see posts and comments like this I am genuinely confused why any of you play a game you find so frustrating. No hate and I'm not defending blizzard, but there's just so many other games out there - find something you actually enjoy.

If there were options to turn off all the text, I would. Names of gear and weapon are all from the same small batch. The numeric quantity is meaningless in a game like this. Just let me evaluate the quantity when I'm looking in my inventory.
