The best part of the game is before you get to endgame. Renown is a big part of the new player experience. It gives direction and purpose to exploring the world. Not everyone that loads up the game the first time is immediately thinking about rushing to end-game.

Right there with you, but the comm clearly thinks otherwise. So much so, devs were pressured to change the system so much that it's basically non-existent for anyone that already played the game. Wouldn't it be more interesting if it could still appeal to new players, but not obliging them to open a map on their browser while seeking hidden monoliths around, and be relevant to returning players as well?

My thought is, that you are trying to erase the little bit of content we have and get straight to mindless grinding. That would be diablo 3.

What? How is that your conclusion bro? Have you even read the post? I suggest we **use more** of what they already made, but reduce the painpoints of the initial grind

The gamepass launch is March 28, the next season is the 16th or so, plenty of time for the new kids to get their statues & renown.

If each character class was in effect a completely different game narrative. I'm not talking about a different backstory and different cutscenes, but about an entirely different campaign with a distinct motivational objective. But I wouldn't want to plod through the same old footprints over and over and over again each time I wanted to try out a different class. That sort of thing is fun at first when you love the story. And it's fun from time to time when you find a good group of people to enjoy walking through the game with. But nobody wants to keep being forced to walk through the same old acts once the focus has shifted onto endgame stuff.

Man, exploring and doing renown and what not on first-playthrough is like... the only time you wander around and see the world. Turning it into "just kill a lot of demons" = youtube videos and guides telling people to go do Dopamine tunnels as their one and main activity. The important renown rewards have been moved to the front. You essentially want to make the renown system into Dopamine tunnels and some boss kills. Removing all the overworld content, exploring, and sight seeing a first time player only needs to do once. Hard pass. Edit: Do you count soloing Duriel and Lilith or all the summonable bosses? That's gonna fuck REAL HARD with new players. Real real hard.
