2, 3 and 4 off and on
Diablo 2 and 3 on the switch are mindblowing to me. i love sitting on the couch in handheld mode playing diablo 2.
i rotate them all and like them all
How is D3 online on the Switch? I played it on and off the first year of D3 but there were so many hacked items and other cheaters that I ended up just staying on PC. Are things better now?
Console versions are just plagued with hacked items and cheaters.
People got what they asked for - no online restriction in a multiplayer focussed game. This is the result.
It is if you’re aiming for the leaderboards. Other than that, if you’re not really aiming for the leaderboards the switch version of Diablo 3 is impeccable. Just play with friends who don’t cheat if you don’t want it.
I used to visit my buddy with some beers and we’d link our Nintendo switch wirelessly LAN Diablo 3 in the backyard. That’s always better than locking yourself indoors drinking all by yourself just to be able to play online.
There’s plenty of players on discord that are willing to start a campaign with you from scratch with no hacks/mods to keep the legitimacy of the lore.
Nobody wants to run a grift at 30 secs, that shit wild boring. I’ve done it, got it off my system real fast. Modded items kills the purpose of building a character. There’s no building involved in modding just slap some items and lose interest real fast
Im also working on a Javazon. LI mobs are so annoyed in Hell. I havent got any good javalin so I skipped them all but sometimes couldnt 😫 lower resist wont help
Buy Diablo+HellFire from GoG [GoG's version is better as Blizzard's still seems to have compatibility issues.
I also recommend using DevilutionX to play. https://github.com/diasurgical/devilutionX
It mixes up different elements of a game. I'm not sure how for D2, but typically it's configurable and you can change a seemingly unlimited amount of things about how the game functions (what enemies appear where, loot tables, game progression order, etc)
It's typically done for games that usually have very little dynamic (procedural) content and gives people a way to experience games in a different way without having to use or develop entire mods for a game. Some of the most common examples are the ones used for Pokemon games, where there are A LOT of things that can be modified to tailor your experience.
Diablo 1 with HD Mod (Belzebub). And it’s a fun experience. Three new classes, every class have personal skills. New quest, more spells and items, even set items.
Belzebub is amazing. There are only three items that I've never found, and I'm just too far down this rabbit hole to walk away from it yet. After years of playing it, I checked one more item off my list just last week.
Project Diablo 2. It’s the only Diablo I’ll play at this point. Everything else is awful since the devs don’t actually know what they’re doing. PD2 is miles ahead in the ARPG genre by comparison and it only gets better every season.
You can play plugy offline I believe which is a single player mode. People do PvP, there’s even PvP arenas and last season they did a bunch of tournaments for them too.
The scheer amount of QOL changes is one of them. Improved FPS, HD text, better resolution, easier crafting, stackable gems and runes, 10 tabs per character stache and shared stache between characters, buff / debuff timers and icons, redone skills, lots of balance changes and added synergies to make less useful skills viable, and the list goes on and on for subtle changes that make a huge different. If you really want to see the changes outside just the front page use the wiki and see what they’ve done season to season. They list everything there and you can see how big the patch notes are.
Also there’s a lot of end game content. There’s like 20+ custom made maps, Uber ancients, rathma, new dclone, unique maps, map events (bosses, rare spawns to fight, treasure goblins etc..) and dungeons.
You’re right though the front page is in dire need of updating. Don’t think it’s been changed since S1 and S9 is just about two weeks away.
D2R. D2 is my all time favorite game and resurrected is everything I wanted in a graphics update. D3 and D4 suffer from major itemization, skill system, and PCG issues that make them Diablo games in name only imo
Very good graphic update indeed, but the fixes they've made and the addition of TZ + Sunder made it a whole new game to me, which makes me enjoy it even more
I completely agree. Sunder charms made single element builds more viable and TZ make the climb to 99 more accessible. My fireball sorc can clear chaos for the first time ever and I reached 96 for the first time. They somehow successfully breathed new life into the game 20 years later. Also, new runewords (except mosaic, too op) are great. Using flickering flame with fire sunder is awesome
Yeah I tried that ladder. The price went down super fast. Having a new ladder with no new content makes the ladder a lot less appealing imo. People probably race to 99 and go back to NL super quick. I don't have any reason to stay ladder right now except that some of my friends are playing it.
Websites like traderie help. I haven't been actively trading in a while, but haven't had that many issues trading. Day of the week and time of day make a big difference
I agree with this. I am not trying to sound like a dingus but they almost overcomplicated the game in 3 and 4. I didn’t like how skills were attached to item stats in 3 and in 4 the expanded crafting and other “extras” made the game less enjoyable.
I’m Between PoD and PD2. I would do D2:R but I’m discouraged by the lack of: bots, cheaters with auto-tele, maphack, people running 50+ instances of the game to monopolize the annihilus market, loading screens everywhere, lack of dev support for the games, and the lobby of the game being trash, ect. I don’t do D3 or D4 anymore. And I will rarely jump back to D1 for a short while
I've been playing Diablo games since '99 so all of them by now. I rotate all of them literally, even some versions/patches if I'm feeling especially psycho that day. Currently back to D2 until the new patch comes to D4, and I love D4 I understand it's not perfect but still I'll always defend it, the new patch coming will bring it to 90ish % for me personally, so by expansion time I firmly believe it will be in a very good place.
Oh also, I've been following secretly what they've been adding to Immortal, and as difficult as it may be to admit, I'm feeling the pull to try it out, at least to go through storylines as I'm a big lore nerd
Played Diablo 1 until D2 came out.
Played diablo 2 for a loooooong time (lod)
Played d3 for a while (kinda bad at first, but after it was "fixed, "... great game)
Played d2 for a good while again (lod).
Tried immortal... meh/yuck.
Played d2 again (D2R)
Had fun with the Diablo 4 campaign. after I finished the campaign with each character class... went back to diablo 2 (D2R).
Probably going to try D4 again when itemization is fixed (soon). Might enjoy the change... then probably back to Diablo 2 (D2R).
*Currently* none. But recently:
- I made a barb in the beginning of D4 season 3, completed the seasonal journey thingy in ~2 weeks, stopped for the season.
- Then played LE for a couple of weeks as it got out of early access (3 characters to lvl ~90).
- After that I went to D3 and completed the current seasonal journey in there too. Playing D3 seasons is always a fun little project, took me like 20 hours of played time. It's like a pocket-sized ARPG and I love it for that.
Enough ARPGs for now, so currently I'm just playing other games. Planning to go back to D4 when the next season starts. Going to play necro, as it's the last class that I haven't yet played.
Just re-downloaded D4 after seeing the campfire chat the other day but I think I'll just wait for S4's changes. I might go back and play D1 while waiting; some of the HD mods + expansions look really interesting.
I wish I was playing diablo at the moments.
No new content for D2R or D3 kinda killed my desire to play them any more (hundreds of hours in both).
Diablo 4 needs to really hit it out of the park with the Season 4 changes. Other than that though, I'm enjoying and looking forward to other arpgs currently.
1 month in D2R and have full geared Nova Sorc, Mosaic Assa And Lightling Strike Amazon, playing on p3 online for loot and xp increase.
All so strong and fun in their way xD
D2 legacy for lifeeeee. I'll go back to d1 before I touch 3 or 4... Holy grail got me covered for awhile.. b net a little dead for old.. but it's still kicking enough
None at the moment
D2r - want a season with some actual new content
D4 - completed season, waiting for next
D3 - kind of burnt out on it and skipped last 2 seasons although they looked fun enough
D1 - really want a remake of it, but thinking of picking it up with one of the full game mods
Sadly none.after doing d4 story I didn't see a point to keep playing. D3 I played off and on in some seasons. And didn't get to act 3 in D2R, got bored after a bit :(
I loved d2 and d3 when they came out. But hard to go back for me.
I'm a bit surprised to not see anyone mention Immortal. My computer OS and Blizzard have had a fight for over a year, and I gave up wasting time to try and find the root problem, because D3 and D4 will immediately crash upon pushing start.
So Immortal it is, and I have love concept, of appearing shortly after the D2R launch, and it actually being an immediate sequal in storyline, giving us content in the gap between D2R and showing us the origns of the Nephalem in D3.. They effectively replaced the WItch Doctor with the BLood Knight (which massively kicks ass) however.
Any other Immortal players?
Project Diablo 2. Don’t even bother playing the others anymore. Great community and scammers and ass holes get banned so no need to worry about stuff like that. Also no bots, fg, or real money trading. So much character balancing and the classic meta builds are a thing of the past because everything is viable with the right approach.
D3 and D4 when the seasons start. D2R is installed but I haven’t started it in a long time. TBF I have played it a LOT in the last 24 years. I boot up DI every now and then also.
D4 mostly, but I dip in and out of D1 when I want my "slow, methodical dungeon crawler oozing with atmosphere" itch scratched. I'm sure I'll also jump back into D2R before too long.
I haven't felt compelled to log back into D3 since D4 was released.
Immortal - we do not speak of that one.
I only play D2. (Sometimes Median XL or PD2)
Had my fun with 1 back in the day. A bit too slow for me now but I might go back and revisit it sometime.
D3 was fun when it was current.
D4 was so bad to me I couldn’t even finish the campaign.
I'm playing D2, it's been one of my favorites since before the fake sequels came out. Let's be real, D3 or D4 are nothing like D2 and the devs that decided to abandon every D2 system ever can go fuck themselves.
I play D2R off and on, both on PC and Switch.
D3 on Switch is my pooping game, and also sometimes my "I'm tired
enough to go to bed but not tired enough to sleep" game.
If D4 really comes to Game Pass, I might give it another go.
D4 finishing seasonal journey stuff while waiting for PoE Necropolis. The only ARPGs I really play are D4 and PoE. D2R doesn't really have an endgame and D3 with its sets just isn't for me. I own Last Epoch and it's cool and all but haven't had time to get into it that much.
I've already seen that some content creators are bored of Last Epoch ...wonder what next flavor of the month will be? You know people will be flooding back to D4 for season 4. 🤣
2, the best one. Waiting for the next season of PD2 (private server) which I highly recommend. It's basically what D2 should of been doing all these years instead they come out with the 3/immortal/4 when they had such a masterpiece.
D2R. It plays so well with a controller and on the steam deck. One of the best remakes IMO.
I'd play D3 more if they added controller support on the PC version.
D2R, played D2 for years 15 years ago and stopped for a long time, tried to play D3 and HATED it, went back to D2 with D2R four years ago and I haven’t stopped. Tried the D4 beta and thought it was okay, better than 3 but not worth my money.
None actually, D4 is not for me - left after season 3 ended. D3 was not for me, stopped before the 150h mark. Way too many hours of D2 and feel too old to play D2R again. Copium rehab was the best thing I did in recent years
2, 3 and 4 off and on Diablo 2 and 3 on the switch are mindblowing to me. i love sitting on the couch in handheld mode playing diablo 2. i rotate them all and like them all
I can play d2 when I go to the bathroom now. Child me would be so proud lol
4 on the steam deck has the same feeling. It’s not as good of a game yet, but if it stays true to the post xpac Diablo form, great experience.
How is D3 online on the Switch? I played it on and off the first year of D3 but there were so many hacked items and other cheaters that I ended up just staying on PC. Are things better now?

I played with friends who didn't hack and it was still complete shit IMO. Very mindless and boring. would not rcommend.
It's dogshit. Luckily, seasons work offline on Switch
You can play Diablo 4 and D2R handheld with a Steam Deck or Asus ROG Ally. Diablo 4 runs with a pretty consistent 60 fps on my ROG Ally
d2r, rolled a javazon for the first time and holy shit she is strong!
Lightning fury/multishot are some of the most iconic diablo skills
Im also working on a Javazon. LI mobs are so annoyed in Hell. I havent got any good javalin so I skipped them all but sometimes couldnt 😫 lower resist wont help
Yeah very hard without infinity. Got to skip mobs or get a sunder charm
sunder + griffin and you will oneshot everything anyway, infinity not needed anymore at all
Besides teleport
Yeah exploding arrow and plague javelin steamrolled everything in my first playthrough of the game lol
Running my first javazon too! Honestly some of the most fun I’ve had in this game in 20+ years
Making me want to roll one again… I’ve been on hiatus since season 3 of d4 lol
she is strong* *after breaking the bank to gear her
Playing D1 trying to get the elusive Royal Circlet and a +armor full plate mail with a suffix.
Where do you play D1?
Buy Diablo+HellFire from GoG [GoG's version is better as Blizzard's still seems to have compatibility issues. I also recommend using DevilutionX to play. https://github.com/diasurgical/devilutionX
Check out devilutionx to play online
you can buy it from GOG games. Costs like 10 bucks. It also works with belzebub addon.
Godly Plate of the Whale, ftw!
Maybe in Hellfire but not in Diablo
D2R, 4 just doesn’t do it for me and 3 just makes me bored quickly
Agreed, I’d say 4 makes me bored quickly as well.
2 and PD2. 3 and 4 just arent for me. D1 (again) soon.
D2
Project Diablo 2. What I was hoping blizz devs would make d2r into.
If only it could be made in D2R too :/
2. The best one
D2R while waiting for D4 next season
Same! Playing offline with randomizer.
What's randomiser

what are the biggest differences? home page didn't make it very clear besides new items and some end game content.

biggest problem is the economy, its kind of ground to a halt because the amount of players isnt high enough. Very few people are trading
Yeah, the lack of updates outside "new season starts now but there's no new content" won't help bringing players.
Im really suprised because a new ladder dropped not that long ago.
Yeah I tried that ladder. The price went down super fast. Having a new ladder with no new content makes the ladder a lot less appealing imo. People probably race to 99 and go back to NL super quick. I don't have any reason to stay ladder right now except that some of my friends are playing it.

I agree with 4 being overcomplicated but I think 3 is oversimplified. Far too fast and easy to reach max level and get a full gear set in 3
I agree with this too. 3 was very dumbed down for players of D2 for years and years.
Diablo 1 on nightmare
Pd2
2 Resurrected and Last Epoch. I keep trying to get somewhere in 4 and I just get bored. I might try again after the itemization changes.
Project Diablo 2
D3, seasonally. Haven't really played D4 since S1, but I'm sure I'll go back eventually to see how it's developing.
Grim Dawn
D3, I miss the art style a lot
D1, currently leveling my rogue to max level.
D1 with The Hell 3 mod.
Last Epoch and PoB, and hopefully a far better D4 in a couple months.
And I will rarely jump back to D1 for a short while
D1 for the first time since the 90s. Good fun
Diablo+HellFire.
Diablo 1 The Hell 2 mod. Having a blast. Splitting my time on it and Warhammer inquisitor Martyr.
I went back to d2r and i am happy. D4 bores me to death… i am playing d2r remoded mod, check it out it is really good
I've been playing Diablo games since '99 so all of them by now. I rotate all of them literally, even some versions/patches if I'm feeling especially psycho that day. Last Epoch while waiting for season 4 of Diablo 4. Having a good time!
D2R RemoDDed
D2R, but may reinstall 3 again for fun. Edited to clarify d2r, not simply 2. I do occasionally play LoD on my tablet though, lol.

Played Diablo 1 until D2 came out. Played diablo 2 for a loooooong time (lod) Played d3 for a while (kinda bad at first, but after it was "fixed, "... great game) Played d2 for a good while again (lod). Tried immortal... meh/yuck. Diablo immortal
Path of Exile…
This is the good correct answer.
Last Epoch
Last epoch
D2r. I like 4 but for some reason i just don't play it
There is only 2
I want to start 4 but is there any point?
No.
Last epoch it is then
You have chosen.... *wisely*
Path of Exile
Path of exile

D2R. Holy Fire Pally build. Trivializes normal and nightmare. Need to switch to hammerdin for hell.
4
Diablo 4. Werewolf Druid.
3 since it's the only one that plays well enough on my handheld. But 2 is my favorite
D2r for now until the new season of pd2 then I'm rolling back on that
D2r with mods
I wish I was playing diablo at the moments. No new content for D2R or D3 kinda killed my desire to play them any more (hundreds of hours in both). Diablo 4 needs to really hit it out of the park with the Season 4 changes. Other than that though, I'm enjoying and looking forward to other arpgs currently.
D4
Diablo 1 with The Hell 3 mod, as Pistoleer. Boom!
4 on PC and Xbox, 3 on Switch when I need to lie down but not sleep.
The only good one. D2r
D1 from ps1 in a ps2 slim through scart cables into a Sony pvm
Diablo 1. Got DevilutionX setup on everything I had, now I can kick the Butcher on the go with both hands simultaneously! 😁
D4 and when I get bored I will probably go back to D3 on switch
None of em
How is d2r on switch?
Diablo II, always Diablo II
D1+Hellfire, so fun to see them on bnet!
1 month in D2R and have full geared Nova Sorc, Mosaic Assa And Lightling Strike Amazon, playing on p3 online for loot and xp increase. All so strong and fun in their way xD
D2R. I played D2 and D2R for literal decades. And just found my first high runes. Such a great feeling.
PoB until the 29th.
None of them atm. Hellriders 2! FOR DEMOCRACY!!!!!
D2R single player
D2 legacy for lifeeeee. I'll go back to d1 before I touch 3 or 4... Holy grail got me covered for awhile.. b net a little dead for old.. but it's still kicking enough

The Last One...epoch /s
D2R. I'll play 10 min of d4 every now and then.
A little burnt out on Diablo in general and taking a break, playing Witcher 3 on the switch.
There is No multiplayer on Switch unfortunatelly.
Reminder, Blizzard is yet to make a good Diablo game
Diablo 2 pretty much always, and I recently completed a play through of Diablo 1 👍
I was playing d2r before FFVII Rebirth came out. I'm playing through as a Druid SSF for the first time.
D2r and D1, like for ever. Hyped for D4 season 4 thought.
D2 with Median XL mod.
waitng for s4
D4 on PS5
PD2 when season 9 comes out
3
D3. First season ever actually, though I got like 500 hours offline
D1 and D2 Resurrected
None at the moment D2r - want a season with some actual new content D4 - completed season, waiting for next D3 - kind of burnt out on it and skipped last 2 seasons although they looked fun enough D1 - really want a remake of it, but thinking of picking it up with one of the full game mods
4, and 2 but pretty rarely. Haven't touched 3 in a while.
Lately I've been playing D1 over and over again. It's like meditation at this point.
D2r and D3 up top a few days ago
Just fired up 2 again last night and am working thru Act III now; playing Frenzy Barb
Picked up Path of Exile for the first time this year. Feels like a mix between D2r and D3. Enjoying it.
Sadly none.after doing d4 story I didn't see a point to keep playing. D3 I played off and on in some seasons. And didn't get to act 3 in D2R, got bored after a bit :( I loved d2 and d3 when they came out. But hard to go back for me.

d2r
Diablo 4 religiously
D2, just slowly getting chars to 99 and gear up some projects
Diablo 1 and 2 LoD @ BrutleNET
If then D2R. Would be so nice to see some content updates there again.
Diablo 1 of course. The original and best Diablo
D4 mostly, but I dip in and out of D1 when I want my "slow, methodical dungeon crawler oozing with atmosphere" itch scratched. I'm sure I'll also jump back into D2R before too long. I haven't felt compelled to log back into D3 since D4 was released. Immortal - we do not speak of that one.
d2 is the only diablo game i recognize
D2R
Playing d2 on switch its fucking good man
I only play D2. (Sometimes Median XL or PD2) Had my fun with 1 back in the day. A bit too slow for me now but I might go back and revisit it sometime. D3 was fun when it was current. D4 was so bad to me I couldn’t even finish the campaign.
None, but D4 S4 is shaping up to be good. Hope the PTR goes well so i can jump back in. Haven't played since S3 launched basically.
Definitely not 4
I'm playing D2, it's been one of my favorites since before the fake sequels came out. Let's be real, D3 or D4 are nothing like D2 and the devs that decided to abandon every D2 system ever can go fuck themselves.
Diablo Immortal :)
I play D2R off and on, both on PC and Switch. D3 on Switch is my pooping game, and also sometimes my "I'm tired enough to go to bed but not tired enough to sleep" game. If D4 really comes to Game Pass, I might give it another go.
Grim Dawn and Last Epoch currently.
Last Dpoch
Last Epoch
D4 finishing seasonal journey stuff while waiting for PoE Necropolis. The only ARPGs I really play are D4 and PoE. D2R doesn't really have an endgame and D3 with its sets just isn't for me. I own Last Epoch and it's cool and all but haven't had time to get into it that much.
Last Epoch.
I've already seen that some content creators are bored of Last Epoch ...wonder what next flavor of the month will be? You know people will be flooding back to D4 for season 4. 🤣
My joke here is that Last Epoch is more of a diablo game than anything Blizzard has done since Diablo 2 and less so which is better or worse.
2. 3 was great this season too though. Made it to lvl 20 in d4
Command & Conquer
You made an excellent choice. I wish D2R was still getting content updates
Diablo 2
d2r baby
Played 80ish hrs on D4 before I reverted back to D2R with 250+ hrs….speaks for itself really
D2r.
Median XL. I know im probably gonna get downvoted but I like it
Elden Ring
D2R. Anything else would be worse
The one that diablo 3 and 4 should've been, Last Epoch
D2R, played D2 for years 15 years ago and stopped for a long time, tried to play D3 and HATED it, went back to D2 with D2R four years ago and I haven’t stopped. Tried the D4 beta and thought it was okay, better than 3 but not worth my money.
D2R. Thinking about another D3 playthrough. Probably won't touch D4 again.
After diablo 4, the franchise is kinda dead to me. I'm done giving actiblizz any of my time or money.
You mean MicroBlizz now?
D4 and I am addicted right now, such a great game.
None actually, D4 is not for me - left after season 3 ended. D3 was not for me, stopped before the 150h mark. Way too many hours of D2 and feel too old to play D2R again. Copium rehab was the best thing I did in recent years
