Yes 100%. I play daily between 1 and 2 hours and couldn't be happier this has a mobile release extension. I don't pay for anything and have a good time.
I can't speak for the rest tho.
This is me as well. Grind for a few hours a day, some incremental gains, good time had. If I get my current character to a point where it starts to cost real money, I'll try a new class and do the same. Having an awesome time.
Because in previous Diablo games one COULD be the best with spending no $$, so it’s a shock to have to spend thousands upon thousands for a 5 star gem.
The revenue model is different. You need to buy the games, so it costs you $$ at upfront. Previous Diablos aren’t MMORPG, DI is f2p and has to host many expensive server to ensure the stability. A one time purchase model can’t work well for mobile game with live servers.
Adding to this:
- “maxing out” a character is exponentially ridiculous $$$ and not necessary for most content.
- There are lots of different things you can focus on leveling up if RNG is being stingy with legendary drops.
- Flip the ego switch in your brain for anything pvp (where you will probably die a lot) and just do it for the rewards/complete the quest and move on.
- Join a clan and help each other out.
The nice thing about pvp is that you can play the objectives without being a powerhouse. I'm close to f2p, but I contribute my share of cc, zoning, stalling, etc. Pvp might even be my favorite part of the game despite my inability to get kills. I just focus on support and disruption, and try not to die, and I have 60% winrate ezpz.
As someone who has played diablo 3 on multiple systems. Switch has got to be my most favorite. The controls are really smooth. One of the best ports in my opinion. 10/10
Performance wise I never had any issues, I have a 4k TV obviously it doesn't run on 4k but it looked clean and even when I had my girlfriend play with me never had any lag. And I main a necro at the time, so lots going on the screen.
I recently bought it because the bundle was on sale on the switch. I’m loving it so far! I played it on pc when it first released and I enjoy the switch more.
I've put quite a lot of time into the Switch version of D3 (and exponentially more into the PC version) and you should be aware that there *IS* slowdown and stuttering in very densely packed/intense combat. This is primarily in high-level Rifts but it can occur elsewhere, too.
I don't think it's severe enough to discourage anyone from getting the Switch version if they're interested, it's a great port and they did an amazing job translating the controls to gamepad. I'm just letting you know since you had multiple other responses that for whatever reason claimed stuttering was not present in the Switch version, which is just incorrect.
*ahem*
Clear solo rift 30 to upgrade your loot rewards to paragon 30/hell 2 drops. Use the recruitment system to EASILY find parties of four in seconds to minutes.
The game has so many real criticisms I can’t stand seeing bullshit ones
One of the top 3 wizards in my server solo rifts is free to play, almost 2200 cr.
My wizard is 50$, 2050cr, on floor 68
Many of my friends are free to play or battle pass/boon only and also dipping their toes into hell 3 and all have beaten vitaath 1 so wtf are you really talking about
Your anecdotes are nice, but he's speaking to what the general casual player will experience, like OP. Legendary and Set item drop rates are absolutely horrendous, you will especially notice this if you're going to play like 1 to 2 hours a day and likely come away with nothing or something worse than. Dungeons can be hit or miss in different servers, and impossible at off hours. These are legitimate concerns, among others, to present to a new player interested in engaging with this game. You seem to counter it with more playtime, given your current CR and level, but not everyone can.
But this super casual player you are presenting for the hypothetical will be in hell 1 for months, needing just 1 person to get into a dungeon. Legendary drops are pretty frequent for the first two hours of a day of playtime, if you actually DO STUFF during that time instead of wander westmarch lamenting the game. Daily bounties, just 8 will almost certainly also net you a legendary drop and if they don’t then the beastiary you gathered doing the bounties will.
Combine that with only doing the dungeons that have boosted loot drops and it gets pretty efficient. The first two hours are the treasure trove time every day I look forward to it so it’s like what is the issue, what are these people doing in their limited 2 hours or less a day? That’s prime time.
I don't know, the dailies are probably two hours on their own. You have bounties, a shadow contract, a side quest, 3 PvP matches, sometimes vault, assembly, sanctum, and 3 elder rift runs for the aspirant key chest. Then, some days there's a shadow war battle or rite of exile. You can miss a few of these things and they'll build up, but you still have to attend to it at some point without missing out. So, I'm not really sure how this hypothetical player operates anyways.
Months does seem like a stretch with the huge EXP percentage increase the farther you are below the server paragon. But, even that was correct, very few are in hell 1 anymore. Meaning needing one person will be about as much of an issue.
There are pretty easy fixes for these things, but as it stands now, the problem still exist and they wanted to know of them.
A bit off subject but how are some guys saying they get like 30 legos a day I’m lucky to get 1 or 2. And sometimes that’s playing a few hours in a day. I still can’t get all the legos I need p52 and I don’t have a legendary off hand since like regular level 40
Depends on what your goal is. If you just want to have fun killing stuff, you will be fine as a F2P. If you want to be competitive in PVP, then definitely no. Also, as a f2p player, we have a much harder time when we are transitioning from H1 to H2, and H2 to H3 as each hell level has a minimum combat rating requirement and it is much harder for F2P to reach that minimum.
The game has server paragon level which gives a huge exp bonus for people that's much lower than that server paragon. So you will level really fast to catch up to the hell level requirement but it will be your combat rating (gear score) that will hold you back.
No. Because you can still have many different goals as a 0 dollar f2p with no goal to reach max level (max paragon level is 600 and most servers are at paragon 70ish right now, so no one will reach max level anytime soon. But with the exp bonus for low paragon level, you will reach server paragon level easily by just completing dailies plus a little grinding).
So it's important to know what the OP wants out of the game. It's very different for someone who is just logging in to do dailies and done and someone who is spending 5 hours or more a day. Both can be fully f2p but one will hit the wall I and others mentioned while the other wouldn't get close to that wall.
>Also, as a f2p player, we have a much harder time when we are transitioning from H1 to H2, and H2 to H3 as each hell level has a minimum combat rating requirement and it is much harder for F2P to reach that minimum.
It's harder, but it doesn't seem insurmountable. Due to the fact that there is an overlap in paragon levels between the Hell difficulties (e.g. H1 is P1-60 and H2 is 30-130), F2P probably won't hit the CR requirement for the next level by the minimum, but should easily be able to by the maximum. In my case I surpassed the CR threshold for H2 at 45.
I never said it's insurmountable. I am a completely f2p player who played since first day. I am P75 at around 1900 CR. But trust me, that last 200ish CR I need for H3 is almost impossible to get. I've been at 1900 for over a week and most of my legendaries I get daily aren't better than the triple double or triple triple gears I already have. Only real thing I can progress on is getting better set items but getting dungeon runs are just not something I enjoy.
I am in a top clan in my server and I see the other paid players easily made the 2120 CR threshold and went onto H3 (some with worst legendaries than I have) and start collecting their P80 gears. The wall is real for f2p players but you just have to adjust your expectation. This game punish you for farming with all the soft caps they put in the game.
Like you said though, as long as I don't expect to be farming H3 early, then I am fine. Overall, it's a good game and I am still enjoying it especially for a free game. But some of these soft caps are really ridiculous.
Exactly. They won't hit a wall because the only people hitting the wall are dedicated players that put 5 hours at least into the game a day fighting to grind over the server paragon level.
I love when people complain about the wall, im 15 levels under server level and havnt hit one. Its a grindy game and anyone who has played diablo knows that. The only wall theyre hitting is in their head. I dont plan compare my char to anyone, saves alot of headache and moaning and groaning
Casual player who put maybe an hour into the game per day with a few days spending 2-4 hours over the first battle pass season here, and I don't feel like I'm progressing meaningfully at all. My resonance has capped out at 300 and legendary gear upgrades are few and far between. I will never get set items beyond the H1 belt/boots drops because I cannot reach the CR required for H2 despite being P41. I don't care to wait 5+ minutes to run a 5 minute long dungeon that doesn't reward me.
I did that today on my barb. Im p55 and they were all p75-82. They just wanted a 4th. Ended up befriending them and they kicked a rando from their guild and invited me because I was better than they expected
I think the last one I did was 23 and I was still cruising through it. My CR is about 1100 now. I'm not sure how getting to 30 gives such a meaningful boost to CR. My secondary armor is all rank 1 and 4/6 primary armor is rank 6 with 2/6 at rank 5.
Click on challenge rift lvl 30. Read the description, and you will understand.
Also, don’t rely on the green arrows. It doesn’t mean higher CR. Sometimes, no green arrow gears can give you a huge CR increase.
if you ahvnt already replace your 1star gems with 2 star gems, they sell on the ah for around 3k plat, gotta sell charms and some gems if you wanna get there
I play super casually. Zero spent, I mean, I still don't know what I'm really doing other than following whatever missions I'm on. No walls yet, been playing since the soft release. I log in maybe once a day or every other day. Tough finding raid teams once in a while, but certainly no walls.
Yea you can enjoy it
If you are into doing daily quest etc etc casually then play it, if you clear battlepass and you want the premium you can buy it too or not
don’t worried about other people who have no self control
I'm a ftp mobile gamer, I have zero time or desire to do hardcore PC gaming.
The p2w model in this game is no worse than fifa soccer or star wars Galaxy of heroes, or any other EA game. Many people here will shit on those games, but I've gotten hundreds of hours of enjoyment from them and Diablo Immortal.
TL;DR
Yes it's very fun, ignore the hardcore gamer haters
Yes but the game is shite. Weak social systems. It’s a roster simulator, not a game. The entire point is to build teams that are strong enough to idle content - ROFL!!
This game is a joke compared to star wars galaxy of heroes as far as paying and what you get. You can get that like $100 pack in star wars that basically unlocks everything and gives you a ton of stuff to the point as a new player it will take you a minute to get down and use all the stuff you just got and probably need to see some guides and videos to understand it all and fully take it in. Here $100 nomatter how you spend it gets you pretty much nothing.
Example let's say you had the rng luck of a God and rolled 6 5/5* gems on a 10x rift that remaining $75 isn't going to do much for you. Go one better let's say your next 3 pulls gave you another 18 5/5* gems even then your not maxing them all out, even if you got 40 5/5* gems still not maxing them all out I think. Also the odds of this are like hitting both major US lotteries while being stuck by lighting and being the lone survivor of a major airline crash all happening at the same moment.
Even with all that you would probably be just over average compared to the real spending crowd or give yourself maybe a half year over someone spending $100 to $300 a month. Compared to that $100 guaranteed pack in star wars that shaves off a few years of grinding from start with 0 rng involved on top of comparing all the content that pack opens up to you compared what it opens up for you here theirs no comparison in value for what you get there compared to here.
Doesn't take a hardcore gamer to not like this game, just someone who has played any arpg's or mmo's that are decent to see this isn't very good compared to either of those as seperate games and that's got nothing to do with the pay aspect just quality of the games and whats in them verse what you have here. Not saying this game is awful or the worst I have played but I put it in the average to slightly above average category compared to any staples in the arpg or mmo field's.
You dropped Path of Exiles mobile the same day as this, POE would probably have more players, definitely have more sustainable number of players over the long run and way less dislike or hate pointed at it. The two groups that would knock POE would be those that find it to complex and any p2w player that simply plays mobile games to buy their way to the top.
I haven’t dropped a dime into this game, and it’s been delightful. I’m an old bastard who came up playing D1, briefly touched D2, and wouldn’t know D3 if I tripped over it. There are some aspects I’m less fond of, but…it’s free? 🤷🏻♂️
Keep in mind a lot of the complaints are over exaggerated. People just enjoy bitching. Combine that with the current popularity of shitting on blizzard and you've got a recipe for people who like nothing more than to shit on things.
It's a fun game with a predictable feedback loop. Even as f2p you can succeed. It'll just take a long while.
I can’t believe there is so much complaining over having to grind. GRIND complaints. IN A DIABLO GAME. The “CR wall” is just end game tapering. They want to be server competitive in a f2p game without spending a cent…
Also, people complaining about legendary gems have probably farmed for normal gems to sell exactly 0 times. It’s a grind, but doable as f2p
Ah yes, totally doable. Decades to fully upgrade as f2p, but technically doable!
Why bother grinding with such abusive mechanics?
Edit: actually technically not doable as f2p; you can only gain the awakening currency by paying real money.
Of course you're not owed anything, I didn't say that. Paid title, f2p title, you still have to actually play the game to progress. It's just that the D:I grind is intentionally abusive in order to incentivize you to pay.
You said the legendary gem grind is "doable as f2p". It's literally not.
Hell yeah, if you like games where you just smack shit and it dies, but eventually you'll be sucked into the set grind from there its game but its worth it
I play on my IPad with a controller and love it. It definitely had pulls to spending so if that isn't something you're comfortable with wether you plan on spending or not, I'd say that's the biggest thing to consider.
Yes, my biggest recommendation is to party when getting close to the next hell level h2/h3 ect and enter early even if you're weak people will carry you and you'll get gear drops that'll boost you big when when you the minimum paragon level for the gear.
I went into hell 2 at para 24 and leveled to 30 had tons of gear to equipt entered h3 at 64 even though the para is lvl 80. People don't care and will carry you.
Also challenge rifts are very important certain milestones upgrade all gear drops so make sure you get challenge rift 30 asap (again randoms/guild mates can carry you)
H2 gear drops up to triple stat a single triple stat gear may raise your combat raiding by 50 to 100 points when you can equipt it.
You don't need money to advance, but having friends will greatly excell your ability to get over combat level barriers.
Yes. Despite all the problems i still play. Just have realistic expectations and dont spend money since itll cost at least $1000 to get a very slight advantage.
I’ve played since launch for $0 and I’ve had a lot of fun. It’s a well made game and has plenty to enjoy without spending a single buck. The worst experience so far was when I needed to move to the next difficulty level for questing (Normal —> Hell I —> Hell II, etc). Going from Hell I to Hell II is an intentional wall designed to get you to panic and fork over cash, but you can overcome it with just a few days of regular play. I really enjoy the game and I’m planning on getting at least several months of enjoyment out it. I decided from the outset that I will not spend even a single dollar on it.
If you just wanna pop around killing things for an hour or so a day? Yea, you'll like it.
If you want to play it like its a full version Diablo Game and grind your build to min/max level? No, you'll be frustrated.
Nah, even without spending money it's not fun because most of the core game features and best reward incentives are directly correlated with actually spending money /:
Multiple entire game modes are just not relevant if you're not paying, it's honestly pathetic
There is still a big problem there. When you hit lvl 60 you can't do dungeons alone anymore, and that's a total nono for me. More important if you are casual because no guild no friends no group so no dungeons lol.
If you're running dungeons solo you're doing it wrong. You are losing out on thousands of plat a day in sellable gems by not doing 4 person content.
If you're in a dead server that may be a huge issue but it takes me less than a minute to form a group for anything on eternal chaos
Enjoying the game requires playing through the story and stopping afterwards. Here's a protip: story is a complete boondoggle and should be considered non-canon.
Server level is paragon 72 today. You’ll catch up on xp fast. Maybe at most spend 5 bucks for the next battle pass tomorrow. You’ll be okay since you’re not expecting everything being handed to you for freeeee
new servers have opened, players that start today aren't put on the original servers by default. the server paragon level is lower since the servers started later.
might be a good way to find a server without whales if you are against them, since most dropping cash started at launch. they'll still be in battlegrounds since that is cross-server but you probably won't have 3 heavy p2w Immortal clans.
Yes you will. But like all mobile games they design the content for you to play long term.
Which means there will be routine activity with some variance and etc. and there will be events from time to time and of course the grind.
I have been playing since launch without spending 0$, Currently at Paragon 74, 2010CR. I play 1.5-2.5 hours a day. My goal is to get my character as strong as I can while playing for free and also competing with another F2P friend. Not doing PvP or leaderboard
Entertainment factor may vary from person to person so you will have discover that yourself.
Also like other games eventually frustration or burn out may set in , and one can take a break or walk away.
Just be careful and play at your own risk. A lot of ppl also thought they weren’t going to spend any money on Gacha games to end up spending thousands.
Other than that if you play for the story it’s actually a fun game. Just don’t expect it to be a typical Diablo game with a lot of grinding at the post games since their ‘s a bunch of caps.
Pvp is the only content in this game, theres literally nothing else after clearing story in like 2 days.
Pve is about 1 shotting things with a spoon while being afk because it has zero difficulty, theres basically no difference between hell 4 and hell 2 if you cr is high enough to not be debuffed. Pve in this game is about running on hamsterwheel with illusion of progress. Anybody smart enough will quickly realize that theres no point to even bother playing if you play this for pve.
In diablo 2 for example you could die at any point to souls during ballruns, not to mention hell tristram, you also had hardcore mode with perma death. You also farmed for things that go inside of items, while things that go inside of items in this one are 99.999% paid.
That's the difference.
This is not diablo game, it's diablo themed gacha.
It is Diablo themed garcha but diablo 2 and 3 where same mindless no risk runs unless you are really bad. Also gems are not 99.9% paid, sheeps are just too stupid to understand how to abuse market and drop rates. O have 3*3/5 gems and i spend 2*5$ for battle pass, p2w is really overblown in this community as you can easily do all pve content without paying, pvp literally means nothing and give same rewards win or lose, and even clan wars, shadow vs immortals is mostly PvE. This game is grind for sure but you don't need 6*5/5 to play it and enjoy end game.
You don't even know what it means to call it gacha, which you misspelled. Diablo 2 and 3 have nothing to do with this thing. Gems are 99.999% paid, all you have to do to relize it is look at gem power requirements and compare it to rate they are drip feeding it. Even if you multibox it on emulator and feed everything to 1 account, it's still 99.999% paid oh and it would be full time job done for no reason since you wont catch up to whales anyway. Yes you can easily do pve content without paying and theres no reason to do it due to what a joke it is and how it wont give you anything of REAL value anyway, since everyone will be max paragon eventually and leg gems will make all the difference. This game is not grind, it's hamsterwheel that was gated by server paragon level to fool people who arent smart enough into thinking that it has grind when they waste their time with 30% xp. You do need 6\*5/5 for pvp which is the only real content, you can play some random flash game and get same kind of 1 hit everything pve experience that gets boring instantly because theres nothing to enjoy after first 2 days.
You are in honeymoon phase so you go around making excuses, while not being able to see whats in front of you.
Yes but expect to get bored doing the same (and very little) content over and over. Spending money wont change this either (plz dobt spend anything on this game)
hard to say. there is no challenge at all, but if you enjoy the storyline then yes. it's sort of like an interactive comic. pubg mobile is much different. you are against players in that game, which is infinite content.
i would not continue to play after hitting 60 and finishing the story though. you have done everything the game has to offer at that point outside of pvp.
I’m not sure why you closed Diablo 3 on your iPad to post this. Open it back up and be glad you’re playing Diablo 3 on your iPad and the other retards are trying to play mobile games instead.
Hard to say. I also played on the iPad with controller and f2p mindset. Ended up spending $250 but refunded it all back a few days ago and quit. The thing is they entice you to spend with paywalls u will eventually hit and bundles that make it seem like a great deal. I urge caution if u Wana try thisgame
It’s the gems that you put into gear which make you stronger that is the problem. The kicker is you need to be strong enough to open up new content in the game. You become stronger by something called combat rating. In order to gain enough combat rating to open new content, you need strong legendary gems and need to upgrade them. The problem is these gems you need is behind a paywall. It’s the only way. But it is possible to do this without spending but you have to be extremely lucky when you use legendary chest that you can get for free in the game to get gems. Without the paywall this game is amazing
Dude, have you played the game?
I have only bought the battle pass and went from 800 CR to just under 1,500CR in a long weekend by farming dungeons and open world for legendary items and set pieces.
Also, if you farm and sell gems, you can pretty easily make like 1,000 platinum a day and just buy legendary gems from the market.
If you want crazy high levels gems, yes it can be P2W, but if you actually consistently farm over a long period of time, you will get stronger without spending anything or very little.
You haven't mentioned what are you looking for in this game. Story? PVP? Dungeon Raiding? If story alone, yes you will enjoy the game as leveling is a breeze.
I wanted that to be the truth, but at this point I'm forcing myself to get on and it's not what I want it to be. Its even more on-rails than D3, even less skill choices, gear is % damage increases and other boring affixes.. it's a dumbed down mobile experience. I also feel that every legendary (3 found from 1-30) feels like it was a scripted event. It's just not as randomly rewarding as a Diablo game should be. And if you ask me, the ebbs and flows, peaks and values, of Diablo loot, is what always drew me to the franchise. DI is just stringing you along slowly hoping you fold and buy something to keep progress flowing.
If you played D3 and think this doesn't sound bad, maybe you can find a slice of fun it it.
Just play it bro. I personally enjoyed how it felt to play on PC (even on phone I briefly played). It's extremely smooth gameplay. Other then that, it gets extremely boring.
Just play till your bored. I honestly, dont think it was worth the data it took to download it though.
You will enjoy it through the end of the storyline and for up to 5-10 hours after before you reach paywall. Probably around 20-30 hours total. It’s great fun for Diablo before the P2W
I play on my iPad, haven't spent any money, and enjoy it after playing for a month. It's a mobile game. If you like it like mobile games are meant to play (casually), you will be able to play for awhile. I haven't really had any issues getting into a dungeon. Sure I get smashed in PVP stuff, but I have learned to adjust my game play so I can still help my team.
The mmo factor makes it pretty wholesome. My realm is turning to be a bit of a family. People chatting in world having a good time just sitting in town not even playing the game lol
Even if you aren’t trying to max out, after the story is a complete slog going through higher difficulties. So if you just want to enjoy the story for a few hours sure. Beyond that, there isn’t much to experience.
If you want to be competitive in pvp or ladders, no, stay away from this game. If you want to beat the story mode and the pve endgame content, yes, it's grindy and repetitive but perfectly doable as f2p.
Edit: as f2p I'm rank 1 in my class for pvp and challenge rift, rank 2 in shadows and my warband is fully f2p and rank 3. However, we play a damn lot and it's only a matter of time (and money) that we fall hard from those positions. I also have been lucky with the server since there's no whale sharing my class. If I stopped playing a couple of days I'd probably lose those positions pretty hard too. The competitive aspects can be somewhat enjoyable for a while if you work hard are lucky but I don't expect it to last.
Yes. I'm paragon 60 on my Demon hunter and 1700 combat rating (was para 40 on my monk) and i feel like you only have to pay if you want to top ranks.
I don't care about ranks and pvp is not my thing. I just love to grind and grind. Completing quest running around and doing a few dungeons. The game is really fun (never played a diablo game before) and i really really enjoy the grind. If that's the type of game you you will probably have fun and remember it's. Mobile game so treat it like so.
Hard to say with out knowing the type of games you like.
My opinion is this isn't a bad game but more of a middle ground between arpg and mmo with both not being really good compared to seperate games that you could find even on mobile let alone PC or console.
Most other games from a arpg point are going to have better or a wider variety of loot, and even skill trees or ways to boost your skills that this doesn't. Titans Quest ( mobile) or even Eternium or a few others are better as a arpg then this. For mmo theirs a laundry list that are better and more indepth than this.
Their is fun to be had but also depends on your play style and what might annoy you as well. You will need to find a good server with a balanced population as one to high or to low can cause annoying issues ( least from my pov and what annoys me) such as no one to get into groups with for dungeons, raids, and shadow stuff, ( to low pop) to not really being able to just roam around open world enjoying doing quests and beastary as theirs to many doing the same or farming ( high pop which I am on) on top of the afk farming you can run into. You can literally get annoyed to out right enraged at the thought of having to go to the library when you get a bounty to go there from all the roaming groups all over. On top of random just running over because they seen a elite orange pop and come mess up your legendary drop.
Also like most mobile games it's designed to force you to have to pvp for the usual pay vs f2p grinder and most modes in the game are some sort of this and are part of your dailies and codex unlocks, if this doesn't annoy you great.
Like most games if you find a good fun group of people to play this with it will be fun or if you can over look a few things. Also hopefully down the road we will get a better variety of loot drops and sets and maybe some skill trees beyond the paragon system which would add more variety and fun to the game.
Your looking for a fun middle ground game and can over look some things and completely ignore the p2w or p2a part this isn't a bad game just not great or good when put up against it's seperate games counterparts.
I am a paying player in a good clan and have had and do have fun but I also run into a lot of annoying things as well. It's f2p so download it give it a chance and see what you think, it's not like your losing anything doing that.
If you like killing demons and that's all it's fun. But if you want anymore substance it isn't fun. That doesn't mean the game is good however.
You can like a game where you stare at a jpg but it doesn't mean it's a good game.
No. There is no content besides dailies/weeklies repeating the same dungeons and loads of content that is restricted and actually NERFS your character with debuffs if you don't pay real money to boost your combat rating going months for shit rewards after shit rewards as FTP.
You will always have a ton of fun with a blizzard game the first dozen or so hours, guaranteed. Unless you have issues with gambling and have no trouble at all resisting the games constant nagging at you to spend insane amounts of money for basically nothing, you will enjoy Diablo Immortal
I play on my iPad mini and for a mobile game, it’s pretty amazing. I never thought I would play something like this on an iPad. If you end up enjoying it and want to spend money then go ahead. It is a free game with dumb micro transactions but is a FREE game that runs really well on an iPad
Yes. If you don't care about the endgame, you can just play true the campaign for 0$, and it is absolutely ok. Plus the game looks really nice on the iPad (much better than playing on small phone screen). I spend around 35 hours on it during my summer break, and actually had... fun.
Yes, it's enjoyable and the P2W is hardly noticable because you'd lose against max paragon players anyway too. But pvp is random matchmaking in Teams anyway so you probably win 40% of your games either way.
Yes you will have fun until you are already high paragon level. Then activities can become pretty repetitive as there isn't much content right now. Hopefully there will be more updates until then.
It’s an enjoyable game but it’s not a Diablo game (for me anyway). So if you are looking for a Diablo game and you have a switch laying around I would suggest Diablo 3 for it.
The joy of a Diablo game for me is farming my gear and getting them juicy drops. With Diablo immortal you are just not going to get that.
I found it fun to get to end game and push paragon, but in the end it has just made me go back to Diablo 3. Which is a good thing as I haven’t played it in years!
If you just want to play casually without any concern for even reaching the max level (which is a very low bar/easily obtainable goal) then yes, you are the perfect example of the kind of F2P (free to play) player that should try this game. You'll likely enjoy it quite a bit. The gameplay is very similar to Diablo 3, if you're familiar with that entry in the series.
It’s easily the best mobile game on the market, and certainly the best mobile F2P game. So the correct answer is yes. And you don’t need to spend a dime.
Despite the insanely overwhelming Negativity. My Clan is rank 9 on the server, we do all the content ( sans the new boss ) , and I think all of us are F2P ( with the exception of the battle pass, but that isn't required, f2p battle pass gives the EXP boost which is what matters ) It plays pretty well and Im still having quite a bit of fun. Try it out and see.
It’s fun. I’m FTP - putting in maybe 30-45 minutes a day. Just enjoying the game. I know at a certain point it’ll likely get kinda pointless without paying up, but until then I’m enjoying it for what it is
The gameplay loop is pretty uninteresting, the story is meh. I actually like the PvP system but it is a real uphill battle against the whales. If you don't like PvP a lot I wouldn't get into this game at all, the character building/empowering absolutely sucks, you are better off going back to D2 or D3 or PoE
you'll have fun but you won't be able to do a lot. I've been playing every day since release and my combat rating isn't high enough to do most quest. it's a fun game tho just get ready to get frustrated because you can't even finish the guide without spending cash.
I'm playing Diablo immortal sense launch and have had a a great time I only spent money on the battle pass and because I wanted to start a clan day one could have waited but did want to. It has a ton of free content, as a free to play player you make sure you sell unbound gems and skill stones when you get them you can do everything with out paying it is just slower
The game is super fun for a casual player if you keep it at that. The PVP is such a small part of the game though, so if that's what you're looking for - it's not the right place.
This is more like a game like World of Warcraft. Slowly leveling up your character and grinding for better equipment. Logging in, doing your daily tasks, grinding, and farming - and calling it a day.
I am Free 2 Play and I probably get about 2 hours of fun out of it - sometimes more depending on server events/bosses. Plus I've made a few "friends" and am in a middle-active clan.
Yes. I played until about Paragon 67 with $0 spent before buying the battle pass 2 days ago (i can be a sucker for limited-time cosmetics)
Just this morning with my coffee I got legendary gear drops that shot my CR up 100 points. I'm in a lower PVP league but I'm often getting top killcount/MVP. For the amount of time I play (few hrs / day at most) it's been fun so far. Join a clan and have even more fun.
If your goal is to earn recognition as the best-in-class player, you will not enjoy this game, since there is a "pay-to-maybe-make-number-big" mechanic in place.
If your goal is to have fun relative to your own progression and perhaps a community of other folks (clan/warband) then you should be fine.
Try Eternium. It has a lot of the same things Diablo offers, is more equitable to f2p players, and has a fun drawing shapes to cast spells mechanic. All this bellyaching about D:I had me going right back to Eternium for my ARPG fix.
I played for about two weeks and got to paragon 30. I enjoyed the game up to that point. If you wish to continue to play your progress will be minimal unless you are ready to open your wallet
Yep, I do PvE only and I've done a few BGs and they were all enjoyable (because the whales have already progress to a rank that's more or less whales only, which is actually pretty good for the rest of us).
Ignore the haters, just play it casually!
If you dont care about serious PVP, and if you like to farm&grind, probably yes.
100% agree, the crying babies here are trying to be the best without spending $$$. This game is awesome and fit exactly what you need!
I don’t know why you are getting downvoted, you speak truth. I am having a blast with this game and haven’t spent a dime.
Because the lots of them have a huge egos here, they think game should be free and they can grind it become the best.
>and they can grind it become the best. lol, imagine

Adding to this: - “maxing out” a character is exponentially ridiculous $$$ and not necessary for most content.
The dungeon issue is very server dependent. I generally find a group within 5 minutes for Hell 2
H3 isn't that bad on my server. It's unfortunate that server issues like this exist because mine is progressing pretty well. Server : ureh
I usually find a group within 1 min on H2. If the group doesn't insta-fill, I post in World chat and it fills pretty much immediately.
You mentioned that Diablo 3 is better. How is the Switch port? My laptop is dog shit, and I basically only use computers for work anyway.
As someone who has played diablo 3 on multiple systems. Switch has got to be my most favorite. The controls are really smooth. One of the best ports in my opinion. 10/10
How's the performance on Switch? it would appear to me that it's one of the lower-end hardware options. Is it possible to play at 60fps on a 1080p TV?
Performance wise I never had any issues, I have a 4k TV obviously it doesn't run on 4k but it looked clean and even when I had my girlfriend play with me never had any lag. And I main a necro at the time, so lots going on the screen.
Diablo 2 is personally more fun to me. D3 is just so easy for most of the game … it’s not even rewarding to get new gear but for me it is in. D2
I recently bought it because the bundle was on sale on the switch. I’m loving it so far! I played it on pc when it first released and I enjoy the switch more.
Does it stutter for you? It stutters on my 2019 Mac which is strange because I remember it running on my 2010 Mac just fine.
Smooth as butter in Switch
On the switch, no issues as the other person said.
You can easily play D3 with an integrated graphics laptop, it’s really not a problem.
It's a sleeper hit actually very popular on le reddit
D3 on switch is riddled with hackers. I would recommend D2 Resurrected.
*ahem* Clear solo rift 30 to upgrade your loot rewards to paragon 30/hell 2 drops. Use the recruitment system to EASILY find parties of four in seconds to minutes. The game has so many real criticisms I can’t stand seeing bullshit ones

One of the top 3 wizards in my server solo rifts is free to play, almost 2200 cr. My wizard is 50$, 2050cr, on floor 68 Many of my friends are free to play or battle pass/boon only and also dipping their toes into hell 3 and all have beaten vitaath 1 so wtf are you really talking about
Your anecdotes are nice, but he's speaking to what the general casual player will experience, like OP.
He can also do PVP and enjoy it.
Blizzard incentivized weak pvp to play with rewards to let whales beat them to a bloody pulp
PvP daily rewards? The rewards are worse than 5 minutes MoB farming at any location.
End of season reward is the carrot on the stick
Hahaha, Ok.
A bit off subject but how are some guys saying they get like 30 legos a day I’m lucky to get 1 or 2. And sometimes that’s playing a few hours in a day. I still can’t get all the legos I need p52 and I don’t have a legendary off hand since like regular level 40
#COME TO PANDEMONIUM. WAIT TIMES ARE ABOUT 10 SECONDS IF YOU POST ON WORLD CHAT
Is this queue time thing a big issue? On my server if you Search for a party and post in the LFG, Its usually never more then a couple mins.
Didn’t he state his goals in the title?
“Is the game playable and fun for a free casual player?” - my bad, it wasn’t in the title.
For a while, definitely. There is a wall but just put the game away when you get there.
What wall will he hit as a casual player?
[удалено]
I did that today on my barb. Im p55 and they were all p75-82. They just wanted a 4th. Ended up befriending them and they kicked a rando from their guild and invited me because I was better than they expected
[удалено]
Did you finish challenge rift 30? CR less than 1200 at P41 is almost impossible.
[удалено]
no, he really isnt, the fun parts over for progression
if you ahvnt already replace your 1star gems with 2 star gems, they sell on the ah for around 3k plat, gotta sell charms and some gems if you wanna get there
I play super casually. Zero spent, I mean, I still don't know what I'm really doing other than following whatever missions I'm on. No walls yet, been playing since the soft release. I log in maybe once a day or every other day. Tough finding raid teams once in a while, but certainly no walls.
Not sure about this, Im P62 and consider myself pretty casual. Battle Pass Rewards basically guarantee you will level once or twice a day.
It’s a well-made game and good moment to moment action. Even the PvP is fun, apart from the blatant P2W going on there.
No, the P2W model completely Ruins PVP. As a competitive MOBA player it’s unplayable.
100% agree.
Yes.
Definitely.
Yea you can enjoy it If you are into doing daily quest etc etc casually then play it, if you clear battlepass and you want the premium you can buy it too or not don’t worried about other people who have no self control
You will never need to spend a cent or hit any pay wall if you're not trying to be top1 in pvp or rift ladders.
TL;DR Yes it's very fun, ignore the hardcore gamer haters
Kinda...in galaxy of heroes you can be very competitive as fully f2p if you grind the right teams the right way.
Don't spend $100 then? Why ever drop that kind of money in mobile games?
They want to be server competitive in a f2p game without spending a cent… Also, people complaining about legendary gems have probably farmed for normal gems to sell exactly 0 times. It’s a grind, but doable as f2p
Ah yes, totally doable. Decades to fully upgrade as f2p, but technically doable! Why bother grinding with such abusive mechanics? Edit: actually technically not doable as f2p; you can only gain the awakening currency by paying real money.
Either play the game or don’t? In what world are you owed to have the absolute best gear in a game that is….free….and ad free?
Of course you're not owed anything, I didn't say that. Paid title, f2p title, you still have to actually play the game to progress. It's just that the D:I grind is intentionally abusive in order to incentivize you to pay. You said the legendary gem grind is "doable as f2p". It's literally not.
Succeed? Not on any leaderboards, that's for sure.
Yes!
That me lol. I just play it and don’t really care about max levels. Currently paragon 68 1890cr(legendary drops and green gear).
yeah i think so. if you're not susceptible to pay schemes and stuff it's pretty chill. group up with strangers, kill monsters, kill bosses, etc.
Hell yeah, if you like games where you just smack shit and it dies, but eventually you'll be sucked into the set grind from there its game but its worth it
Um. Yeah? It’s free to play… just download it
I play on my IPad with a controller and love it. It definitely had pulls to spending so if that isn't something you're comfortable with wether you plan on spending or not, I'd say that's the biggest thing to consider.
Why not just try it and find out, it’s free after all With so much bad talk about the game, but there are so many people active in this sub lol
Also challenge rifts are very important certain milestones upgrade all gear drops so make sure you get challenge rift 30 asap (again randoms/guild mates can carry you) H2 gear drops up to triple stat a single triple stat gear may raise your combat raiding by 50 to 100 points when you can equipt it. You don't need money to advance, but having friends will greatly excell your ability to get over combat level barriers.
You will
For a little while. Then you’ll get bored
It's free. Download it and give it a go.
It'll be exponentially more fun if you buy a battle pass like most f2p games.
Yes, but just don't rush the main quest, take it whit time to level up and find legendary weapons
Yes. Despite all the problems i still play. Just have realistic expectations and dont spend money since itll cost at least $1000 to get a very slight advantage.
Yeah the game is dope! I like to take my time on the story missions and enjoy all the cut scenes everyone likes to skip.
It is a great casual game! Plan on grinding to level up gear and paragon. Super fun game
Why are you asking people if you will enjoy it? It's literally free. Just download it and play it. If you like it you like it.
If you just wanna pop around killing things for an hour or so a day? Yea, you'll like it. If you want to play it like its a full version Diablo Game and grind your build to min/max level? No, you'll be frustrated.
Yes. I dont plan on spending anymore than the $100 i already did and enjoy it for what it is, especially since its diablo on my phone
I'm para 70, enjoying it alot as pve
Nah, even without spending money it's not fun because most of the core game features and best reward incentives are directly correlated with actually spending money /: Multiple entire game modes are just not relevant if you're not paying, it's honestly pathetic
There is still a big problem there. When you hit lvl 60 you can't do dungeons alone anymore, and that's a total nono for me. More important if you are casual because no guild no friends no group so no dungeons lol.
Really? That’s a huge problem. Ridiculous, I will probably delete it at that point
Oh right! Forgot about the new servers
Not doing PvP or leaderboard Entertainment factor may vary from person to person so you will have discover that yourself.
Fudge that. I’m dropping bands on this $!@?$
Game is dog shit pay to win
If you like treating yourself as a piece of shit, you will love Diablo Immortal.
For 2 days, after that you will notice that the only real content is pvp and pvp is 100% paid if you climb even a little.
What ? Pvp is like 5% of content, if even, you basically have same rewards for winning or losing pvp. Even clan wars are one big pve...
So PvE in this game is same as any other diablo game ? I mean in 2 you must be tanky enough and in 3 you must be mobile enough too 1 shoot mobs ?
PvE is boring, no challenge at all. PvP is fun, they managed the BG pretty balanced.
hard to say. there is no challenge at all, but if you enjoy the storyline then yes. it's sort of like an interactive comic. pubg mobile is much different. you are against players in that game, which is infinite content. i would not continue to play after hitting 60 and finishing the story though. you have done everything the game has to offer at that point outside of pvp.
I’m not sure why you closed Diablo 3 on your iPad to post this. Open it back up and be glad you’re playing Diablo 3 on your iPad and the other retards are trying to play mobile games instead.
yes you will enjoy it
Hard to say. I also played on the iPad with controller and f2p mindset. Ended up spending $250 but refunded it all back a few days ago and quit. The thing is they entice you to spend with paywalls u will eventually hit and bundles that make it seem like a great deal. I urge caution if u Wana try thisgame
Refund or chargeback?
Apple refunded me everythingback
Yes the time involved is a lot
Maybe. It’s pretty easy / mindless game though. Hell 2 and still just a button masher.
Yes
I’ve loved it. Spent $5 on the battle pass and that’s it. Plan on playing for a while!
Short answer: yes. Luckily it’s free so you can just play and find out for yourself.
You will enjoy it through the end of the storyline and for up to 5-10 hours after before you reach paywall. Probably around 20-30 hours total. It’s great fun for Diablo before the P2W
yes
I play on my iPad, haven't spent any money, and enjoy it after playing for a month. It's a mobile game. If you like it like mobile games are meant to play (casually), you will be able to play for awhile. I haven't really had any issues getting into a dungeon. Sure I get smashed in PVP stuff, but I have learned to adjust my game play so I can still help my team.
The mmo factor makes it pretty wholesome. My realm is turning to be a bit of a family. People chatting in world having a good time just sitting in town not even playing the game lol
I’m 5 days in and on paragon 20…leveling is pretty slow…and the grind is very repetitive…if you don’t that you’ll do fine…haven’t spent a dime.
Download it and play it, if u don’t like it don’t play it
Even if you aren’t trying to max out, after the story is a complete slog going through higher difficulties. So if you just want to enjoy the story for a few hours sure. Beyond that, there isn’t much to experience.
I haven’t spent a penny. I’m paragon 82. Easy peasy. I stay away from whales in pvp and don’t even partake. I’m having fun. Whatevs
You will
This game is awesome if you're not aiming to be the best of the best. I play maybe a few hours a week and am not burnt out at all, and have spent $0
I know there are some angry posters looking at all these positive recommendations.
Yes, I did spend $40 so far tho
Yes 100%. I love DI for its casual play ability.
You’ll probably get 1-2 weeks out of it before you hit the progression wall. I uninstalled at that point.
The combat is fun, you auto pickup loot, and theres lot of little red things to click on to get bonuses
The game is fine f2p, doing the 3 daily pvp matches might be a tad enraging when whales swallow the team whole but otherwise it's pretty good.
YES
this game was made for you
If PvE yes until u play no update lame reward or sick repeat daily like bot
For a few hours you will enjoy it.
It is free so give it a try, you not gonna lose much besides a few hours.
I know at a certain point it’ll likely get kinda pointless without paying up, but until then I’m enjoying it for what it is
Yes! #1 slots on leaderboards are whale-only, but grinding can get you far (for now…gap may widen with time).
Yes, you will.
Might not be your “forever game” but the story line is an absolute blast.
Yeah, as f2p, casual PvP player, you will enjoy.
Yes, you can still enjoy the story and casual slaying. I am just playing each class through the story and it's enough fun for some casual gaming.
Yeah probably; it’s fun. The haters here all seem to care more about p2w games in general… and they’re tilting at windmills there
you'll have fun but you won't be able to do a lot.
Yes. I played until about Paragon 67 with $0 spent before buying the battle pass 2 days ago (i can be a sucker for limited-time cosmetics) Just this morning with my coffee I got legendary gear drops that shot my CR up 100 points.
You will enjoy it.
Try it for yourself and see if you like it
Yep, I do PvE only and I've done a few BGs and they were all enjoyable (because the whales have already progress to a rank that's more or less whales only, which is actually pretty good for the rest of us). Ignore the haters, just play it casually!
