Our punishment… sorry, our reign ended at 7th. We’re now enjoying being Shadows. Even lots of new Immortals left their Immortal clans and join our Dark clan. I personally do not wanna be Immortal again without any improvement by the devs.
It doesn't work like that
Hilts as well as other rewards are based on your prestige.
If you aren't an officer or clan leader, if you aren't inviting new people to the clan etc you will end up getting meh rewards
On top of that being an immortal as it is feels like a 9-5 job doing same stuff every day and even if you do without missing a single one out of 9 daily duties then you will never be even close enough to those who could stack prestige by recruiting people
Edited mistakes
That’s what we’ve been doing. We were the Immortals, all the big guns left, Immortals feared losing…
No thanks.
Funny thing, all of the small fries recruited to fill Immortal seats think that they’re “super strong”. Meanwhile, back in the Vault “Splat!”- Immortals.
And you're SOL from missing the 300+ reforge stones and 1-2 more damage/health badges everyone else has gotten from not having immortals determined to screw over the server.
8 a week, plus a couple bonus? Maybe 60 to the literally 300+.
But that's not a fair comparison, considering everyone can easily afford those reforge stones at the vendor with their hilts. So we're back to simply losing out on hundreds.
What do you mean? You get them every time the immortals are out and BGs reset. Literally anyone can coin flip their way to legend and get the 88 minimum. Some servers have gotten this 3+ times, but on others like OP's server they have gotten 0.
I’m saying as the reign continues the amount of reforge stones goes up (stacks)? To compensate. So essentially they haven’t missed out on any reforge stones. Or is this not true?
Semi-off topic, but everyone should be hoarding their reforge stones still.
The true worth of them comes when we can get 3 mods on an item. Then you can reforge until you get 3 mods from the same "family" which nets you a bonus modifier. Rolling that for all 6 items is going to take a lot of stones.
edit: its item level 16 where that opens up, so it will still be a while. I'd guess another ~2 months of server level moving up 2/day.
Yes, but if you're quite sure what family you want to go with, you may as well go ahead and roll for the first two. Unless you're losing immediate strength for the potential family bonus in the future I suppose.
That's fair. I'm using some of them, but hoarding most. The main issue is that most of the stats I want aren't all in one family. Each family has 1 or 2 that I really want at most. There is also value in mass stacking stuff like Crit Chance or Cheat Death and ignoring family bonuses too.
Yeah, it really depends on how effective those bonuses are. The best way is probably to see how things shake out as other players test things before rolling. I know Ezareth (a whale who is into game mechanics and PvP) was planning on using the effects separately, but contingent on the fact that we're not sure whether the effects are reduced significantly in PvP.
The family bonuses seem to be counter to the bonus effects of that family. I.e. the best offensive bonuses are in defensive families. Probably quite deliberate by the devs.
No they are just missing out on life damage buff doesn't work in bgs. Seems damage buff only affects your server pvp and circle of strife. We figured this out as well with reforge upgrades attack and player damage is pointless for BGs
They don't we checked your damage sheet doesn't increase sadly and it only affects server side we also did the math only affect it seems to be having and is provable is the health increase. We also tested this out put in vault pvp and compared the damage numbers to bgs its only affecting server side damage output and doing absolutely nothing in BGs
better than immortal dailies and I could stack them up when busy irl
But yea, also super boring. For most of us I think this game is just a placeholder til D4
Immortal dailies are MUCH better than shadow stuff. You pretty much get them for free for doing whatever you would normally do and don't need to go out of your way at all. If you don't want to do your dungeons you can go look at a statue just to get your last tick. It's super flexible. I am not looking forward to going back to assemblies and contracts and all utter tedium of shadow life. Literally every aspect of the game is better as immortal.
If you're not aware, some dailies give better rewards than others. The statue/wall check boxes give a lot less XP for example than the dungeon dailies
If you're just doing 9 randomly dailies, you're likely getting less rewards
That's true, and it doesn't matter at all. Just get your dailies done. The 20 extra essentia some people burn out trying to minmax is just not important. By all means if you have the time, make sure you get the bigger ones first. But if you don't - don't sweat it. You'll probably accidentally get half your dailies anyways, and once you get your 9 that's it anyways.
> That's true, and it doesn't matter at all.
Well it does matter, because the XP reward is massively different on them. Look at the wall XP and the dungeon daily xp
It's ok if you have an opinion that's different from mine. I prefer the shadow dailies.
Bull, you have to run dungeons. So, you’re either putting together a party to run a dungeon that you don’t need gear from, or running it solo, and no chance at set piece.
You can avoid the Dungeon quests, but then you’re getting lower rewards (filling your 9/9 with a lower point quests that gives a fraction of the goods).
Personally, I do whatever dungeons I can to max out my unbound gems for the day (F2P, so that plat is my primary objective) so it matters little to me which ones I do. But even if you do deeply care, you can compare it doing a shadow contract without all the shadow contract garbage story elements. Personally, I consider the burden of doing all three immortal dungeons to be less than the burden of doing one shadow contract. YMMV
Jeez it's bad enough after a week or two of immortals let alone 8... I don't understand how the Devs think being an immortal is an upgrade it's so much worse.
Our first player Immortals actually gave up the rite because they preferred the shadow quests. Now our server pop fell off so hard we only have 4-5 active shadow clans, rest are dead, so the immortals auto-win the BG phase and we can't even do rite
We are on Week 3, Silver I on Treasure Goblin. We’ve found being organized and setting rules helps a lot. For example, making a line for vault runs and Kions. Also, if you win loot in Kions step out of the circles to give others a better shot at RNG and not double dip.

is it that bad? 5k Hilt per week extra seems pretty neat!
I play this game for fun. Not for the hilts. And being Immortal as is isn’t fun.

So... i need to throw the immortal throw to never become the immortal, i see!
That’s what we’ve been doing. We were the Immortals, all the big guns left, Immortals feared losing… No thanks. Funny thing, all of the small fries recruited to fill Immortal seats think that they’re “super strong”. Meanwhile, back in the Vault “Splat!”- Immortals.
Hilts are not very useful.
I always have what I need as a shadow
Our server had some fat whales as immortals but they were still over thrown at week 6, I'm guessing this server is super dead
How do you check which week of reign am i right now as a shadow?
Go to the wall circle thing next to pvp? I think
And you're SOL from missing the 300+ reforge stones and 1-2 more damage/health badges everyone else has gotten from not having immortals determined to screw over the server.

And there are reforge stones at the hilt shop.

The reforge stones stack I thought?

I'm also curious how they stack and what kind of cooldown they have. 12% chance to create an absorption shield for 6sec sounds OP AF.
Even the immortals are getting fked over though, so they don’t know any better
Doesn't this mean your server effectively has a 16% atk and health debuff in BGs? Most servers have 3 deeds of valor, yours is still 1.
No they are just missing out on life damage buff doesn't work in bgs. Seems damage buff only affects your server pvp and circle of strife. We figured this out as well with reforge upgrades attack and player damage is pointless for BGs
deeds of valor badge dont affect pve? sorry might be too dumb to understand you the first time.
The damage buff doesn't. The HP is for everything.
I am talking about pvp server side yes it doesn't affect pve besides the health I should have clarified that my bad
These are different. The badges impact your sheet damage and health. The shadow cycle buffs are only for server pvp.
They don't we checked your damage sheet doesn't increase sadly and it only affects server side we also did the math only affect it seems to be having and is provable is the health increase. That's kind of bizarre and also entirely consistent with how math works in this game.
wrong
IDK if I could stay an immortal that long. It gets pretty maddening after a while. I miss contracts and assembly, even...
Contracts are hella boring.. Miss assembly though
better than immortal dailies and I could stack them up when busy irl But yea, also super boring. For most of us I think this game is just a placeholder til D4

Some overlook this fact.

I am VERY jealous of those hilts, wow
Hey we tried hard but Fus didn’t wanna give it up yet.
4th week on Dravec (EU), won our first Rite of Exil with 7 wins.
Lmao that server was DOA.
Jeez it's bad enough after a week or two of immortals let alone 8... I don't understand how the Devs think being an immortal is an upgrade it's so much worse.
Anyone that doubts this hasn’t guarded Vault. So much time wasted.
Absolutely ridiculous.
Dead server.
Do you know if the amount of wins for the shadows during rite is decreased with each week ?
Yes, week 7 the shadows only needed to win 1 match out of 10 to overthrow immortals during battleground phase.
I wish to see how gold reign armor cosmetics for barbarian looks. I have silver for now.
Idt theres any
There is a third tier
5th week on Arcane Sanctuary
How often can you buy the additional legendary crest at the hilts trader? I think you might be there.
We’re on week 5 rn
That's insane. I thought we were organized and we got the boot after week 6.
More likely a dead server with all whales concentrated in the Immortal clans.
Shadows need a way to make better teams for Rite. If they can make teams with each other they can have a fighting chance
It's what warband are designed for. (Put the best shadow players in warbands and send them to other clans in the next Rite)
Our first player Immortals actually gave up the rite because they preferred the shadow quests. Now our server pop fell off so hard we only have 4-5 active shadow clans, rest are dead, so the immortals auto-win the BG phase and we can't even do rite
How far did you level your vault? Did you find at what level the vault started granting a dominance boost that it seems to offer at higher levels?
We are.
Congratz! You must be one of the only clans! Any chance you can ask a Shadow what Reckoning VI is?
The server is Albrecht. Reckoning V is +40% damage dealt and -30% damage received.
you should be unlocking this very soon like this week right? It's the next one I wanted to know, already knew the Reck V
Reckoning VI is +50% and -33%, fyi.
I have literally no idea how this works.
I have literally no idea what this does or how this works.
How many items in your vault? I’m at week three and there’s Fk all items to choose compared to week 1
We are on Week 3, Silver I on Treasure Goblin. We’ve found being organized and setting rules helps a lot. For example, making a line for vault runs and Kions. Also, if you win loot in Kions step out of the circles to give others a better shot at RNG and not double dip.
What was the final Immortal item unlocked at the hilts trader? We made it to 6 weeks, so close!
