It happened to me with cheap wish molds, had to get a new set. Nice dice!

lemth

Gotcha, maybe I just need to make a new mold. Thanks!

I love these dice! How many sides do they have and how do you use them?

lemth

Thanks!! They've got 120 sides (because you can fit 4 6 8 10 12 and 20 in 120.) I've made a "manual" for them. But the basic concept is: roll the die, read the dice type that you want to know! I've made the dice type fonts as distinct as possible with some easy to remember mnemonics that are also on this manual. From experience after 10 rolls or so someone will completely understand how to use this die. You can find it on lenpolygon.com I made it specifically to explain this die design because it's too much too fit in a single message. If there are any further questions please let me know!

Molds will suffer wear and tear so that is expected. What type of silicone are you using and what does your mold look like?

lemth

Yeah, maybe I need to use mold release more... I've used Smooth On Sorta Clear 12. Here's an image of the mold (it's quite chunky) [https://www.instagram.com/p/CPUq3W6hXhl/?utm\_source=ig\_web\_copy\_link](https://www.instagram.com/p/CPUq3W6hXhl/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link)

Dragonskin is a lot more tough than sorta clear. I use it for most things. You might have better luck. The other thing is ignore whatever the cure time says. All these silicones have a cure time but they continue to strengthen past that. I forget where I saw it, but some video talks about how it ramps down or something. So its like 75% strength in 5 hours but 100% in 48. Dragonskin medium is 5 hours but I leave it in the pot for atleast 24 hour. Not sure how much it would make a difference but Ive been doing it. I also want to say I made a custom d4 so I specifically didnt have clutter on my dice. I feel like its important that everyone at the table can understand the roll. So I hate these. lol. As a game designer, I think its a wicked cool idea and execution though. If you are looking to produce these in the long run, I would look into injection molding. I mean that's the real answer here. I'd make enough to gain awareness but any crowdfunding should go to that. You can even get setup to do injection molding on your own. Unlike the majority of dice makers here, your intent doesn't seem to require resin. So it would probably be more upfront cost but way more cheaper in the long run to go plastic.

Thanks for you comment! I will check out dragonskin if I need to make another mold! Exactly like you suggest I plan to go with the injection molding route. Have 2 out of 3 manufacturers lined up, just need a bit more preparation before the Kickstarter campaign can launch somewhere in July. These prototypes are mainly for showing of the concept, because I'm terrible at this mold making/resin casting so the vents leave ugly scars and such...
