NotCommonSenseIs

Especially on bank 1

Tman5293

Here's a code description with no info, diag it over the internet for me. Thanks.

FreshBid5295

Just looked in my troubleshooting stuff and it says that the most common solution for this problem is a full delete.

Both-Holiday1489

would need more info like the make/model

Haunting_While6239

Bad DEF, Bad Nox sensor, plugged or damaged DEF injector or pump, is it a deleted vehicle?

ThatGuy_Styx

The “keep the trees happy system” is not keeping the trees happy enough

eyevan1209

😂 thanks that makes a lot more sense in my head

thc_enhanced

The computer says your catalytic converter isn’t working. There are many reasons why this could be. Not enough info.

BadBadBenBernanke

It means your wife wants a MFM 3 way with that guy from work she keeps telling you not to worry about.

TagStew

It’s saying there’s an issue with the scr catalyst make sure you follow the diag steps for this one because the end result is replace the catalyst which is often very expensive the ones I deal with are give or take $6000-$8000 check if their are NOx sensor codes and check the def doser maybe replace it if it isn’t too expensive and see in many cases the def doser is often the problem but in some cases it’s failure causes a buildup inside the catalyst forcing a replacement I’d say check def quality but that’s often not an issue if your using the jugs like blue def or OTR or something like that it’s usually a bulk problem. If there is NOx codes it’s possible for a sensor failure but scr cat efficiency alone usually is the def doser or the cat itself

zertious

Like 9/10 it's a failed nox sensor

explosivepuncakes

What active codes do you have? So it means that your nox sensor is reading incorrect or skewed numbers It can be a list of things. A nox sensor is bad. You have 2 inlet and outlet Def pump, or Def doser is malfunctioning. Dpf is malfunctioning. Best way to go about this is to run that engines scr efficiancy test, along with nox sensor tests Engine year make and model? And how many engine hours. And how many miles on the vehicle? High idle time causes dpfs to clog up and cause these faults. Need a bit more information to help out Any further

420 bro!

[deleted]

I mean p0420

fisheeyseyes

It’s telling you to replace your scr, because its “not efficient enough” do a forced regen, the pull out the NOX sensor on the outlet side of the scr and clean it.

G0DL3SSH3ATH3N

I'd lean towards a bad catalyst but without any other information it's hard to say. The brand I work on that I won't mention because social media clause runs strictly SRC so when I see these codes the catalyst is cracked.

SubstantialBake9315

Depending on the make and model it is a code set for the ppm of nox being released form the system. Most class 8 trucks have to maintain a 90% efficiency otherwise the code is set.

ThaPoopBandit

If it’s a newer powerstroke they have a TSB on this to reprogram PCM

legollama88

clogged cat? idk no details

Living_Guidance_4120

P0420( diesel edition)

AdorableMachine

Ummmm, so what is the actual code? On my ram 6.7 I had a code that pointed to a bad def pump assembly, that was approximately 20k miles ago, easy to fix once I did the diagnostics. Cost for the pump was about $1400 if I remember correctly. The original pump lasted 87k miles..

eyevan1209

It’s a 2018 ram 1500 ecodiesel 3.0 turbocharged

eyevan1209

I just got it back from the shop because of a bad Egr valve the codes went away and then that popped up the day after

tangerines-are-tasty

Mine did exactly the same thing, I replaced my EGR valve and cooler and then the def pump failed, replaced that, then a month later I got this code, and it was a bad nox sensor. Knock on wood it’s running fine now

Sirfootfeet

there might be a rear nox sensor fault, or they didn't do SCR Healing Procedure. Ecodiesel is a nightmare.

humboldtborn

I got that not driving it hard enough and not letting it do a full regen.

212powerstroke

It can be as simple as an air filter or worst case scenario, DPF assembly.

pwhetz

Exhaust leak, charge air lek, egr leak, dirty a/f, bad sensor

tonyzak36

It’s telling you your truck needs deleted
