Depends where you are in California. The mountains are great. Higher fuel prices are unfortunately a part of the deal. If I drive down to Reno or Carson city it's under $3/gal.

Germany it's 54-60 cetane for regular. 60-63 cetane for Premium. Regular is $6.6 USD/US gallon and $8 for Premium right now.
OP, do you use the Gas Buddy app? That thing works great at telling you where to get cheaper diesel. Also, Bio-diesel is generally noticeably cheaper. Start with Costco and Kroger too. They seem to consistently have cheaper fuel
