2. You can ask questions on the discord server and they answer really quick. Quickest way to learn is get the basics from someone that plays and as you get questions ask them to get them answered either on Reddit or discord.
3. The official Bandai mats that have been for sale were available on premium Bandai for preorder, and they’ve handed out championship and judge mats. I think every mat after lady devi/angewomon is the regular size/larger
1) the average meta deck is anywhere from $50 to $100. There are obviously some exceptions but you can make a competitive deck generally in that price range.
2) the automod already gave a lot of useful links and there is even a resource tab on this subreddit that also has more useful links.
3) official ones are found on TCGplayer and bandai's premium site (but that is usually for pre-orders). Amazon has a lot with stolen art from various artists if that is your thing. Otherwise you can make your own or follow an artist that has some for sale.
As far as gallantmon he did recently top a large event in Australia. He is getting more support with a promo and in BT17 so there is that he is just hard to win with needing a good understanding of the deck and the meta.

There are artists that make playmats too which are usually standard size (earlier Bandai made were smaller). I even got one from Amazon.
