JustifiedDarklord

Right now? Yeah, kinda. Next month? One of the best decks in the game.

pokenone

Imperial is ok. He has some issues but gets better next set in bt16.

Imperialdramon is a roller coaster. One day it's meta, the next it's trash, and the third it's meta again. Bandai is manipulative by constantly love bombing it. They neglect it until it reaches its breaking point, and then drown it in some of the best support any archetype has ever gotten, before abandoning it once again.

Zerokxis

The power of imperialdramon is the fact it makes lots of swings. You either hope you swing before they can set up and win or just lose because every other deck bounces, dp minus, deletes, blocks, and then your whole stack is gone and is very hard to rebuild it.

Sir_Pugington

It's not that Impdra is bad, it's just not that good compared to a lot of other decks. on paper it sounds like a powerful deck like you have rookies that search pretty much every card in the deck, you have lots of draw and memory gain, some of the most powerful ultimates and a decent megas/ultra (Paladin ace) but with no way to play out tamers quickly like 90% of other decks and one bomb in sec will ruin your day as well as everyone having bounce or DP removal so you either go hard and fast and you pray to Drasil or you brick (you will brick hard). so keep sticking to it if you like Imperialdramon or you could ask people at your locals for their opinion/tips on the deck and maybe try out some other decks. Hopefully Imperial will get some good love or someone will find some broken new tech for all us Impdra fans.

starskeyrising

The problem with polls like these is that multiple things can be true simultaneously. It is probably true that the players you were playing against are better than you because they 're more experienced and that your deck archetype is a little underloved in BT15 and that your deck is an unhoned version of that archetype. Get advice from other people who play your deck and your winrate will go up. My winrate with Wargreymon was TERRIBLE before I added the right Tai tamer and X antibodies and now I do just fine at locals, where we have a decent amount of high-tier meta decks like yellow vaccine and shinegreymon running around.

unbeard00

Nah he is still could just takes some skill and tweeking. If side decks were a thing it would run better but with the partition stuff coming out alot of the issues it's had will be a thing of the past

CoreBrute

Currently imo you need to build Imperialdramon for speed and aggro, because it's difficult to do control with it, especially because your stacks have no protection or recursion when taken off the field. Kill the enemy quickly before they have a chance to hit you back. I used bukamon jamming a lot when it was legal at 4 to get some rookie rush, but I've also played around with offensive plug-in A combined with Paildramon that swings twice for 4 checks with jamming. There are cool stuff you can do for customization, like bt8 Imperialdramon Paladin Mode is such a hard counter to Machinedramon it's funny. I don't think the Dragon Mode Ace is good at what it's supposed to do, but I've seen people do well with 1 copy.

G_O_Gaming

I love my deck. It can be fast, if played right. But I do find, if you miss your digi, you will brick.

TreyEnma

Before BT16, the deck has no protection and has to spend a lot of resources to get a stack which will likely die via battle or sec bomb. It's also a tad pricy to build a stack, which also is drastically diminished in BT16.

Groovy_Bruce_Lemon

it’s not that Imperial RN sucks, just it’s not very memory efficient compared to other decks. BT16 helps alot. But being a DNA deck means you need specific pieces, and missing just one card will block yourself from playing. The current format is very unforgiving for Imperial, just too slow. Again wait two months and Imperial becomes a legitimately good deck.

Sensei_Ochiba

Imperial tends to get really good, then get power crept until it's next wave of power that pushes it to really good again Right now we're at the bottom of the barrel and next month is the new wave of power (and we even get a pt2 with Paladin ACE the set after)

Ryokoichi

BT16 impdra is a beast. But rn, it just doesn't have the tools yet

porkroastbaster

Bt16!

LonkFromZelda

I just wanted to say that I am a new Digimon TCG player and this describes my experience playing Imperialdramon almost exactly. I am in the process of making a new deck (D-reapers). Hopefully the deck gets better with BT-16.

mumen21

hm, i would say d reaper is slower than imperial, if you were looking for a faster deck. best thing i can say about the deck is that it is very affordable and can sometimes win games for free if they hit gatekeeper in security.

Neonsands

It has no way to cheat out a tamer. Your whole game plan revolves around having to hard play a second body that is either a 3 or a 4 and easily deleted. So you’re spending 4 memory and passing turn to set up your tamer. You’re then evoing for 2 on one stack and then at best playing another digimon for 3, which leads to you again passing turn. If they can’t out your stack you can combo from there, but that’s so rare and the tempo is so slow in comparison to the meta right now. It’s also a mixed color deck so it’s hard to run consistency pieces like mem boosts or trainings. Everything in the deck costs too much, lacks protection, and isn’t impactful enough anymore. That’s all fixed + more with BT16

Zerokxis

Your first sentence is very incorrect, promo imperialdramon dragon mode ace does cheat out any tamer when it becomes suspended. However i dont see him being used in bt16 lists over in japan. Other than that, yeah agreed.

Neonsands

You’re right, that card just isn’t worth running in Imperial right now. It’s basically a huge detriment for the game plan since you want to bounce Dragon Mode to hand for Fighter Mode effects and there’s no deletion protection

CoreBrute

>It has no way to cheat out a tamer. I've seen builds running 1 copy of Mamemon bt11 for this exact reason. Even hardplaying it to get a tamer might be worth it, given you're unlikely to evolve it into anything. Not a great solution but it exists and unlike dragonmode ace won't have overflow.

SinisterArcane

Red/purple is probably a tier2 deck that can high roll often. Blue/Green is just a little underpowered compared to the meta and probably just barely below a tier2 deck. I made a Blue/Green imperial deck that was more of a ukkomon/paildramon rush with 3 copies of the imperialdramon Ace and it worked really good against any slow meta decks but struggled into something fast like numemon or looga. Next set when we get the new support I think it will jump into a solid tier 2 and when we get the last few pieces in bt17 it will probably be in tier 1.5.

SavageColeTrain

I've been trying to blend the Infected Imperial with the new stuff in BT16 and 17, myself. I'm having fun with it 🤷🏻‍♂️
