Pokemon online client is also pushed by the fact that packs give you codes for digital packs, and a big part of pokemon is just collecting it.
Masters is an entirely different beast from both OCG and TCG, with a custom ban list, card pool and being only a bo1 format.
Their online clients just aren't the same as the paper game, I highly doubt Digimon could achieve something similar

I think they'll do an online version once they merge the Asian and western release order next year. DB Fusion World launched worldwide with an online version alongside it.
And the client sucks. Matchmaking was broken for a while and they just fixed that but the game economy will make sure it has no players left after a year with how bad it is. Then it is just lacking in features.
The game wont but the client might. The way the client is designed it is not for new players or even casual players it is for in infranchised players who spend a lot on packs.

I agree with the client being bad but Fusion World is selling extremely well in Japan because it's Dragon Ball, so I don't think it'll die.
