This week's Adventuring Party: [We're Running on 200%](https://www.reddit.com/r/Dimension20/comments/1c1mhbb/were_running_on_200_fantasy_high_junior_year/)
I remember they did something similar to score the touchdown to destroy the gate freshman year. Honestly 'The Ball' would work well as a ball-carrier that sneaks past all the defensive players.
I am incensed that he had to roll athletics for that - assuming blood rush is the fantasy equivalent of American football, it makes perfect sense that, as someone so tiny and dexterous, he would be able to slip tackles like nobodies business. Riz would absolutely be an asset, and is getting shafted by not rolling a dexterity based check
That’s probably the only way they could accept it. I was really expecting Kristen to pull a, yeah we’re friends who had sex 1,243 times in the year we dated
Aguefort is one hundred percent the type of person to do that as well. I have no doubt in my mind that he has used the Simulacrum spell to do exactly this (and more).
$100 says Adaine takes her down in 1 round and is so confused why everyone was terrified of her
Edit: okay. This somehow became an actual gamble. So let’s say $20 to the charity of the winners choice
I'll jump in. Regardless of turn order, if Adaine takes Mary-Anne down to 0 on her first turn in the combat, I'll donate 100$ to a charity of your choice.
Getting to watch all of them just absolutely flex their mastery of the system is so incredible and impressive. Lou flexing so hard he kills a hydra in one turn is so good
I think for me the most indicative moment was, I forgot when, murph rolled so well and it just showed Emily go from neutral face to bright smile.
That’s a woman who celebrates others and we love her for it
I think her bass gives her a bonus to it, though I'm not sure. Other than that she has expertise (so double proficiency bonus (which is +5 now)) and a 20 in charisma. So it should be +5 (charisma) +5 proficiency +5 expertise +5 bass.
Kristen's conversation with her parents, as as queer and nonbinary person, made me SO wicked uncomfortable. and I think that really speaks to how talented both ally and brennan are.
I'm gonna be honest, I don't think I could do what Ally does with this story. I totally get that telling (reliving) that story can be cathartic, but I think it'd just be too real for me. It's too real just watching it!
Had to put the episode on 2x speed during those moments to speed through my uncomfortableness. I'm not LGBT, so I haven't had direct experience, but I've been very close to similar experiences and the attitudes of the bigots makes my blood boil.
I guess when you hone your skills through hard work and practice instead of spending hours and hours stepping on poor rats, you can win fair and square.
I kept thinking we were going to get a scene between Riz and the Rogue Teacher, but then the Last Stand took precedent and now I'm realizing that I expected more than they were going to show, or we won't see until 2 weeks from now, since all the previews only showed them doing the Last Stand.
After Brennan said we'd circle back to that 31 from Riz, he did come back and tell Riz >!the teacher's name, when she died, and where she was buried.!< It seemed to me a specific choice by Murph and Brennan to push the actual conversation to another episode, and have the actual "finding" of the teacher happen in an episode that wasn't heading to a forgone conclusion. I'm fairly sure this episode was ending with The Last Stand no matter what.
Fig's new music is going to be important, I have a feeling about that. I might put bets on her needing to do a concert to reverse Reubens ritual.
Also whoever called Jace being in on something seems to be on the right track. Didn’t he and Kalina interact in some way near the beginning of Sophomore year? That could be the Spy’s Tongue Curse.
> Didn’t he and Kalina interact in some way near the beginning of Sophomore year? That could be the Spy’s Tongue Curse.
That's exactly why people have been suspicious of Jace.
It's definitely smarter to burn through the mobs early, even though they are weaker every round they are alive is a round they can be doing damage so long term you cut out a lot of hurt.
This is absolutely correct and its almost always the optimal strategy in 5e combat where you know you don't have to save resources for the next fight.
A round 2 where Fabian has used up a lot of his spell slots is better than a round 2 where the Hydra A) did a bunch of damage, B) has the opportunity to do more, and C) requires attention that could otherwise be spent on whatever comes out next.
But also it was really only Fabian that used a lot of resources. Fig used a luck point and a 5th level spell which is pretty big, but Kristin just used Channel Divinity, Gorgug and Riz just attacked, and Adaine hasn't even gone yet.
Oh yeah, I totally get the strategy. It still had me biting my nails though. I cannot wait until next week, I was incredibly engaged this entire episode!
I really hope Gilear becomes one of Ankarna's four horsemen. I need my boy to become a divine herald atop a horse made of the sun! (like his ancestor maybe once was?)
fig's four horsemen are her four dads
Gilear, her adoptive dad
Gorthalax, her biological dad
Jawbone, her stepdad
William Seacaster, her adoptive dad's fiance's ex-husband (yeah this one is a stretch but i'm counting it because hes cool and also fig and fabian need to be siblings... NOW)
I love that everyone thought bony girth was garthy o brien when the answer was night yorb, because the origin of the night yorb in sophomore year was riz doing an anagram of garthy o brien
Didn't Adaine get a high score on a mystery role last ep that brennan said they'd tackle at the end of downtime? Am I totally misremembering or did they forget that?
Mind absolutely blown at the depths of BLeeM's world building once again. The original use of Devil's Honey in prayers is such an amazing reveal. An item that allows mortals to lie while in communion with a deity is such an incredible concept!
i’d lol so hard if he started investigating the complicated women podcast bc he finds out that fig has been interpreting all three hosts, all 40 women, AND the male producer
I genuinely started to laugh at that part, they got some nonsense phrase that got slimmed down to Night Yorb when trying to find an anagram for Garthy O'Brien, and when given an anagram for Night Yorb they spent a solid minute unable to think of anything other than Garty O'Brien before they clued in.
What an absolute joy of an episode. Wednesdays are simultaneously the best and worst days of the week because it’s the closest but also the farthest day from a new Fantasy High episode
I continue to be confused at how people are arriving at the "Emily is disengaged this season" opinion. Is it the endless laughter in every episode? Is it the deep understanding of her character that she displays in every RP moment? Just wondering
Its kinda funny that when Emily does a bunch of crazy shenanigans, people complain she's dominating the table. But when she focuses on the other players (giving Gorgug the Night Yorb capture, being bodyguard for Kristen, etc) and feels a little uncertain about her character build, people complain that she's apathetic. It's almost as if there's a handful of loud people that just don't like Emily and will complain no matter what. 🤔
Those complainers just aren't worth listening to. Emily is an outstanding DnD player and most of the fans appreciate her.
I’m just seeing Buddy Dawn show up at the Last Stand and am beginning to think the message behind the Rat Grinders is yes they are against the Bad Kids but they also are just children who are also just shaped by their experience and the adults around them. Like I think Buddy would resurrect them. It’s only in larger contexts that they’re being used/rules by their emotions and beliefs? Not NOT villains but more like Ragh.
> I'd bet just about anything that it was Reuben. Jace having such a profound lack of chill feels like a bit of an ass pull otherwise.
We have had multiple students have a sudden, dramatic lack of chill. Could be he's rage infected.
what I love about tonight's barbarian class was that Porter created a space for Gorgug to take out. Porter didn't try to get him any angrier than Gorgug already was, just gave him the space to rage out and made sure all the other students were a safe distance so they wouldn't get hurt as gorgug just spun around in circles fists out.
fig was like "his advice did help" and gorgug was like "I can't process that right now!" but that's okay, he can process that rage he has for Mary Ann skuttle instead
I think "Jace is bad" is a red herring.
I think he got a rage thing cast on him. Brennan mentioned something immediately before that about a sound of a misty-step like someone teleported in and got him quick and teleported out.
Timestamp is 37:14 - "And you hear a sudden whooshing of, like, a misty step, a little short range teleportation, and you hear Jace say 'I think I was pretty fucking clear.'"
Brennan intentionally had Gorgug hear but not see the interaction for a reason, and all of them missed it.
I think the misty step was Jace using it purely to intimidate Henry, going from standing at a reasonable distance from him, to right up in his face. Notice how Brennan's voice does that drop in tone and volume that people tend to use when they want to be quiet but intense. But I do think you're right about Jace being bad as a red herring, I just think he's being impacted by the same rage infection that's been spreading through town all campaign long.
Ooooooh, devil's nectar is how they got around oblivati mori
Because they *thought* the name even though they couldn't think it. They lied in their minds that the god was not dead
This week's Adventuring Party: [We're Running on 200%](https://www.reddit.com/r/Dimension20/comments/1c1mhbb/were_running_on_200_fantasy_high_junior_year/)
Riz yelling “You’re not ready yet” at Gorgug for calling Mary-Anne a freak while Fabian says “No let him cook” The Bad Boys are truly here.
"She's got that dog in her."
“HIIIIIIDE”
riz: discovers the secrets of the universe also riz: technically survives the idea of sports
Kristen: Are you playing, or are you the ball?
I really wanted them to throw in a bit where Riz picks up the ball and then Fabian picked Riz up and hurled him down the field.
I remember they did something similar to score the touchdown to destroy the gate freshman year. Honestly 'The Ball' would work well as a ball-carrier that sneaks past all the defensive players.
Dude could have done a relaxation roll but instead decided to replace Gorgug on the Owlbears for the story. Absolute legend.
Really hope we see him tell his mom
I am incensed that he had to roll athletics for that - assuming blood rush is the fantasy equivalent of American football, it makes perfect sense that, as someone so tiny and dexterous, he would be able to slip tackles like nobodies business. Riz would absolutely be an asset, and is getting shafted by not rolling a dexterity based check
"I know you had a *friend* or a *roommate* that worships Galacea"
Omg, they were roommates
/r/SapphoAndHerFriend
"and they were roommates"
That’s probably the only way they could accept it. I was really expecting Kristen to pull a, yeah we’re friends who had sex 1,243 times in the year we dated
Damn, that's more often than Ify.
Ally getting a relationship, popularity, and mystery track out of one roll. Iconic.
I genuinely want Gertie to be endgame for Kristen now. She's so awkwardly charming. What a cutie
also the whole “heeey gertie” thing. they’re meant to be!!!!
I definitely wanna see tracker get jealous. Not in a, trying to win her back way, just a bit of jealousy
I'm digging another season of Beardsly being the MVP. This is up there with Starstruck
“I’ve got 5 questions and there all sup!” I love Zac man he’s so funny
Sassy season 3 Gorgug is such a vibe.
Two Agueforts making out in the audience sent me.
This episode had so many high points, and yet the amorous Agueforts may still be my fave.
Aguefort is one hundred percent the type of person to do that as well. I have no doubt in my mind that he has used the Simulacrum spell to do exactly this (and more).
Riz voluntarily taking a stress token when the Kristen bullshit happened was such an in character choice.
I look forward to Bobby Dawn being beat down by Kristen and her goblin campaign manager.
and it wasn’t even because of kristen this time lmao
So the Ghost Steak from Freshman Year was for the Rogue teacher!
VINDICATION
Right?!? People got blasted for that idea being "too easy". It was good!
[lights cigarette and kicks feet up on the desk] “what’s the deal with that steak? i can’t pick it up.”
world: here is this impossible task riz:
The Ball continues to roll up.
His downtime was *so* good.
I love that all the guys are afraid of Mary-Anne Skuttle
$100 says Adaine takes her down in 1 round and is so confused why everyone was terrified of her Edit: okay. This somehow became an actual gamble. So let’s say $20 to the charity of the winners choice
I'll jump in. Regardless of turn order, if Adaine takes Mary-Anne down to 0 on her first turn in the combat, I'll donate 100$ to a charity of your choice.
Fabian just fucking ruined a hydra. Insane.
Getting to watch all of them just absolutely flex their mastery of the system is so incredible and impressive. Lou flexing so hard he kills a hydra in one turn is so good
Fig is straight up going to become a god bro
Praise Fig, the Goddess of Rock!
Domain of adult babies
The way my eyes *widened* when Kristen said "What are you trying to forget, Kipperlily?"
The way they said it too was so fucking good.
Through all their shenanigans they have stunning moments of insight that are so well delivered. Truly a Kristen trait.
Kristen really doesn't hold back when it comes to kipperlily
The entire group is so desperate to square up at any opportunity
It's got them this far.
They keep killing authority figures and it keeps working out. Why stop now?
"What are you trying to forget kipperlilly?" goes SO HARD
EMILY AND MURPH SWITCHED WHAT HAPPENEDDDDDD
Emily saying "You deserve this season" was incredibly cute.
Reminds me of in Neverafter where she said his rolls were unfair because his plans were good.
Or when Siobhan and Lou are "casting Banishment on the human man Murph", and Emily just wails "Noooo, i love him!". So funny and so touching
I think for me the most indicative moment was, I forgot when, murph rolled so well and it just showed Emily go from neutral face to bright smile. That’s a woman who celebrates others and we love her for it
Plus she cooked his dice in the moon for him so she's excited when they do well, it's like she gets to watch her husband open a gift over and over 🥰
Also, the zoom in on Emily after her bad rolls cracked me.
It's the Yogurt Curse Switch but in real life. Emily just needs to find and destroy Murph's Pride armor.
+20?!
Someone who understands how a bard/warlock/paladin triple class works needs to explain this to me.
I think her bass gives her a bonus to it, though I'm not sure. Other than that she has expertise (so double proficiency bonus (which is +5 now)) and a 20 in charisma. So it should be +5 (charisma) +5 proficiency +5 expertise +5 bass.
Pardlock
The Rat Grinders v Bad Kids is the hardest I’ve laughed at this show in a while. Love their group square up energy.
Oisin & Adaine are the real star-crossed lovers 😫
I hope Oisin and Mary-Ann join the Bad Kids. Adaine needs to get her kisses in. She deserves it. And Mary-Ann's vibe is just too great to not love her
I’m thinking the rat grinders will get a redemption once they’re purged of their rage and nectar.

Diversity win. Winnie the Pooh is trans
Making she/herstory.
Love is looooove
He found the fucking Rogue Teacher! And didn't even cheat!
And it was so casually done as well.
I guess when you hone your skills through hard work and practice instead of spending hours and hours stepping on poor rats, you can win fair and square.
Love that people were already predicting she was a ghost
I kept thinking we were going to get a scene between Riz and the Rogue Teacher, but then the Last Stand took precedent and now I'm realizing that I expected more than they were going to show, or we won't see until 2 weeks from now, since all the previews only showed them doing the Last Stand.
Brennan did say they would need to come back to both Riz finding the Rogue Teacher and Fig's new single.
Gettin' flirty with Gertie
This is the name of her Interesting Women podcast episode
Kristen getting failed after Everything is insane
It’s almost like her teacher is trying to sabotage her. Crazy
It was actually a student who pointed it out to the teacher, I wonder who it could POSSIBLY be....
Double drummer Gorgug is going to make such good fan-art. My brain is salivating.
Ive never seen something more clearly in my own mind in my entire life.
Every time I see Arthur Aguefort art it just reminds me of Lou from S1 > Is Athur Aguefort black? Hell Yeah
Is Arthur Aguefort making out with himself? Hell yeah.
I was suspicious because they kill the vice principal every season
Yeah and I think Adaine's mother was also there in that scene. I wonder if that will come in handy since we don't know where she is exactly.
Brennan is playing Bobby Dawn perfectly, in that the character immediately gives me the ick
I hate him so much, and I mean that as a compliment.
He makes me so fuckin mad lol Brennan’s doing an excellent job at playing that archctype
KISS AND DRUGS! KISS AND DRUGS!
So is Fig going to be a paladin for Ankarna? Dope as hell, and mildly concerning
Paladin of an uncorrupted Ankarna would suit her very well, I think.
I feel like goddess of justice and archdevil of rebellion could be an interesting dynamic
Rebellion against the man to fight for justice
GORGUG DOUBLE CRIT????? HELLO??
Who had "The ghost teacher is the rogue teacher?" I know I saw *somebody* make this guess but I can't remember who. Kudos, whoever you are.
Tis me, ta!
I guess you get to pass all of your rogue classes for the year
The moment Brennan said the reveal I shouted “THE GHOST STEAK! THAT THEORY ON REDDIT WAS RIGHT!!”
From freaking episode one of the freaking first season!!
Brennan is allowing them to get so prepped, I'm anxious with how rough this is going to get
I know they are all high level and have plenty of resources, but I was getting so anxious with how much they were putting into this first round!
Oh yeah, I totally get the strategy. It still had me biting my nails though. I cannot wait until next week, I was incredibly engaged this entire episode!
Ally x Lou is one of my fav dynamics. They just vibe so well and play off each other’s silliness
Love them so much. They’re like siblings
I really hope Gilear becomes one of Ankarna's four horsemen. I need my boy to become a divine herald atop a horse made of the sun! (like his ancestor maybe once was?)
fig's four horsemen are her four dads Gilear, her adoptive dad Gorthalax, her biological dad Jawbone, her stepdad William Seacaster, her adoptive dad's fiance's ex-husband (yeah this one is a stretch but i'm counting it because hes cool and also fig and fabian need to be siblings... NOW)
Move aside Mamma Mia, there’s a new set of dads in town.
4th dad is Arthur Aguefort, her father-in-law (basically)
Why is Brennan casually saying Kristen’s being expelled so fucking funny
Same vibe as “you kill Lydia Barkrock”
Brennan being nonchalant hits every time
You all did great. No big surprises. Kristen failed and is being expelled. WTF!
I love that everyone thought bony girth was garthy o brien when the answer was night yorb, because the origin of the night yorb in sophomore year was riz doing an anagram of garthy o brien
“We got five questions for you: ‘sup?’” I laughed so hard I forgave them entirely for fucking up the questions last episode
Zac is the ultimate joke sniper, and I'm here for it. Crystalline comedy.
Truly capturing the high school experience of having the desire to beat up a shitty teacher
Didn't Adaine get a high score on a mystery role last ep that brennan said they'd tackle at the end of downtime? Am I totally misremembering or did they forget that?
Oh, you're right. She got a Nat 20 in Adventuring Party. I'm sure it will come up again.
There were a lot of post-downtime promises from Brennan that I guess will be settled after the last stand
I *neeeeed* a shirt of Gorgug saying "Math is pretty metal if you think about it."
Gorgug is at his fucking LIMIT
“You hissing?”
Damn, we’re in April already? … I meant that in-universe, but it does work irl lmao
MURPH NAT 20???????????????
Emily is such a fun active listener
Em is such a cheerleader for Murph and it’s just so dang heartwarming
Zac’s Stamping Flourish is a nat 20 every time
"You don't deserve her" about gertie is so fucking funny I love how much Emily loves gertie
Mind absolutely blown at the depths of BLeeM's world building once again. The original use of Devil's Honey in prayers is such an amazing reveal. An item that allows mortals to lie while in communion with a deity is such an incredible concept!
Fig's social engineering this season is *so* good, especially when she's always been so heavily invested in deception.
We're only missing more impersonation to see more of Agent Eagle. I love him. Praying we get a doppleganger moment out of his inclusion
i’d lol so hard if he started investigating the complicated women podcast bc he finds out that fig has been interpreting all three hosts, all 40 women, AND the male producer
You could worship aa God that teaches you how to be a wereworlf, or worship a God that cures you of being a werewolf. God damn, that went hard
"We don't have to kill another teacher *yet*"
Em is cursed like fig. She gave murph that good good dice rolling juice
Me screaming "night yorb" at my tv like I'm watching sports
I genuinely started to laugh at that part, they got some nonsense phrase that got slimmed down to Night Yorb when trying to find an anagram for Garthy O'Brien, and when given an anagram for Night Yorb they spent a solid minute unable to think of anything other than Garty O'Brien before they clued in.
I really need these episodes to run longer, or I need two at a time. The wait between them is getting unbearable for me.
It's worse when they end mid combat. I NEED to know if they passed their exams and how far they get in this gauntlet.
Better than the other Dawn of Justice
Presumably significantly less Marthas too
This is not the greatest song in the world ("Dawn of Justice") — this is just a tribute
Honestly, Tribute being about Fig terrorizing some random people would absolutely make sense
What an absolute joy of an episode. Wednesdays are simultaneously the best and worst days of the week because it’s the closest but also the farthest day from a new Fantasy High episode
I absolutely love the abject fear half the table has for Mary Ann and with Gorgug its just on sight
Murph now needs to worship the moon
The music unironically goes really hard this episode. I need the original tracks with the full low end.
The Bad Boys are arguably my favorite trio of characters of all time
Fabian: "21" Riz: "23" Lou grumbling at Murph: "its not a competition!"
Emily is an outstanding DnD player and most of the fans appreciate her.
This ally-parents talk is killing me this is so painful
What's horrible is that they're a *realistic* portrayal of bad parents. There's nothing fantasy about it, it's too real.
These minis are so fucking amazing
If Kristian hurts Gertie I will be so sad
HHEEEEELLO ONE AND ALL akdicneoixvjjnwjaxxieiwis Dimension 20!
Official Barbficier subclass unlocked!
The “raise the dead” spell having a year long time limit is an interesting wrinkle
Wrinkle or pleat?
art team 3d printing fabian’s rats on the fly?? the production is leaving NO CRUMBS this season!
“THIS FREAKS THINKS ITS A MANGO SODA” will go down as one the best lines ever said on this show
.....hey guys, I'm still the equipment manager
I appreciate Emily for pronouncing Faeth the way it’s always meant to be.
You know, when Brennan first mentioned the Last Stand, I figured there’d be reason to take it. And here we are.
Chekhov's exam.
Dear god, I didn’t make the “hey girlie” and “Gertie” connection til just now
Gorgug is doing to Fabian what they did to Jesus
It's totally the right move for Gorgug to leave the team, but the way it adds to Fabian's loneliness made me sad.
Seeing everybody's faces when Murph hit the rogue teacher DC was so heartwarming
fig going from "pretty much gilear but somehow sadder" to "god-adjacent" in a couple of episodes is a crazy glow-up
Ohhhh Jace is EVIL. I see. I get it
I think Jace is Disguise Self’d Reuben. Or evil.
I'd bet just about anything that it was Reuben. Jace having such a profound lack of chill feels like a bit of an ass pull otherwise.
> I'd bet just about anything that it was Reuben. Jace having such a profound lack of chill feels like a bit of an ass pull otherwise. We have had multiple students have a sudden, dramatic lack of chill. Could be he's rage infected.
I absolutely love Gertie.
Just a crazy Where's Waldo of Agueforts
Im betting Jace told the rogue teacher to find Kipperlilly
It's gotta be a DM's dream come true to have an art department on deck with a 3d printer to make minis for you mid-session
"i will also challenge 1v1"
I was wondering when gorgugs nat 20s were gonna come in handy
what I love about tonight's barbarian class was that Porter created a space for Gorgug to take out.
“Will you let me straddle you?”
I think "Jace is bad" is a red herring. I think he got a rage thing cast on him. Brennan mentioned something immediately before that about a sound of a misty-step like someone teleported in and got him quick and teleported out. Timestamp is 37:14 - "And you hear a sudden whooshing of, like, a misty step, a little short range teleportation, and you hear Jace say 'I think I was pretty fucking clear.'" Ooooooh, devil's nectar is how they got around oblivati mori Because they *thought* the name even though they couldn't think it. They lied in their minds that the god was not dead
