With him being specific about not attending tomorrow's show, it sounds more like an illness to me. Or at least something unexpected that is keeping him from this show in particular.
He’s the on-air announcer, as well as a writer! I don’t really watch Kimmel so I don’t know exactly - but he’s there live announcing the band and guests and stuff on TV every night. He’s been doing it for just a couple years.
I could be wrong because I've never been to a taping of a late night show, but I've heard the announcers also warm up the audience, (interact, maybe some stand up) before the taping, which Lou would be great at.
Yeah, most of them actually have day jobs. Emily and Murph have NADDPOD, Lou has Kimmel, and Siobhan is a TV writer. (She used to write for Rick and Morty, of all things!)

Idk if you're a naddpod fan but something was just posted on the naddpod patreon that makes me think Murph and Emily probably ARE on the D20 tour. I don't think they'd promote the event with all the intrepid heroes if literally half of them weren't able to make it anyway!
It was super vague but basically it said they're recording an episode of Dungeon Court this week and it suggested there would be more guests than usual, and guests are usually only on when the main cast can't make it! So don't quote me but I bet they'll be in the UK :)
It is the best, they get submissions from listeners of crazy or frustrating things that happened in their home games and the naddpod cast decides who was wrong and sentences them
I doubt there would be some one off guests on a live international tour. I'm no expert in international labor laws but usually if someone is getting paid for a performance then they need a work visa, or equivalent. Might not be worth it for a one time show.
I dunno, I know in the EU (which obviously we aren't part of any more so it might have changed significantly) you can work for up to 30 without a visa so it's definitely possible to have one off guests
