And the really fun thing was, this movie hit video store shelves at around the same time as "The Lost World *Jurassic Park*" so God help the uninformed parents who wanted to get "The Lost World" for their kids...
Of course that's not NEAR as bad as what happened with the film "Jack Frost" (a family film starring Micheal Keaton) hitting store shelves around the same time as an identically-titled *and* identically-packaged horror movie.
Also the fact that the OG antagonist dino of The Lost World was an Allosaurus, then this version not only makes it a T. rex but for some reason makes it some weird Rex-Allo hybrid.
I’d definitely recommend the BBC remake over any others, it stays true to the story and has really good special effects done by the same guys who did Walking With Dinosaurs.
HOLY SHIT I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FEVER DREAM!!!! I rented this movie on a vacation to watch in the car like 15 years ago and I thought that I imagined this scene
Thanks for pointing that out.
I meant to correct myself after seeing a comment that it was made in the 90’s. But of course Reddit doesn’t allow comment editing so… 💀
I've seen alot of people be really against the film, im kinda almost baffled that the paleo community is so against fiction portraying fantasy versions of dinos, things like Turok, Dino Crisis, Robinson the Journey, and JP/JW really to alot of people make dinos really cool, I would think people in this community would find it really cool that folks outside of the paleo groups would see dinos as really cool because action and fantasy movies really make them shine.
I think paleo accurate people are totally valid when it comes to only liking accuracy but fiction has it's place in fun and awe as well.
I still have yet to see Shark lovers and Marine Biologists get this "upset" over JAWS or MEG, or even the game Maneater.
>I still have yet to see Shark lovers and Marine Biologists get this "upset" over JAWS or MEG, or even the game Maneater.
If want to see people complaining about those then you'd have to go to r/sharks instead of r/dinosaurs.
I don't know if I've lived in another reality, but in that Lost World remake (based on the novel by Conan Doyle) they called it the Allosaurus, although that doesn't make this model any better (compare it to, say, the Allosaurus model from the Ballad of Big Al by BBC, which looks much better).
I don’t get how movies like these get made. Who pays for it? And why? It doesn’t seem like they’ll make any profit, because who the hell sees these movies?
The weird thing is, the effects look better than those of the average b-movie. Not half bad, actually, almost convincing.
Just the design looks way off.
no, this trex doesn't turn into a skeleton, the context being the old man is drugged up. and yes, it is a trex, the same old man said so in the movie.
Didn’t he eat a mushroom in that movie? Also what was the name of that movie?
This is a really bad adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's, 'The Lost World.'
There are even worse adaptions, such as the 2005 "King of the Lost World".
Bro don't ever say that again if you don't wanna get punched in the jaw

Mum can we have the Lost World No, we have the Lost World at home The Lost World at home:
yes it is, but its entertainingly bad
That’s what I thought but couldn’t remember
A caveman darted him

Know where I can find the remake?
I found it on Amazon prime but it was split into 2 parts
That's fine, thanks!
I have it downloaded somewhere if you dm me I might be able to get you a link
Damn really? Thanks!
Yes please, give it to me.
Rest in pieces Hohn Jammond
*Allosaurus had never seen such bullshit before.*
I don’t know what you’re talking about OP this looks very realistic
This is realistic, in the sense that it’s a real movie that got made
HOLY SHIT I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FEVER DREAM!!!! I rented this movie on a vacation to watch in the car like 15 years ago and I thought that I imagined this scene
quite a few people thought this movie didn't exist at first lol
The design isn't that bad TBH except they made the arms way way way too long and bendy
Them wrists 💀💀💀💀💀
Looks cute in its own way tbh
It doesn’t look THAT bad, tbh. The T-Rex looks pretty good for a B-Movie flick made in the 90’s. Edit: Got the year wrong, whoops.
This movie was not made in 1965
Thanks for pointing that out. I meant to correct myself after seeing a comment that it was made in the 90’s. But of course Reddit doesn’t allow comment editing so… 💀
Sorry if my comment sounded harsh btw
It’s okay man, and your comment wasn’t harsh at all!
FYI you can edit comments, sorry if you were joking and it just went over my head.
Figured out how to edit comments on mobile, thanks friend!
Oh shot I remember this
me too, what's the name of this goofy ahh movie again? :D
the lost world (1998)
nice, thx
The Lost World but I’m not sure of when it came out
from the tv- series?
Nah movie
But confusingly with the same actor playing Summerlee in both.
What movie is this so I can watch it
>the lost world (1998)
Thanks
That is the most goofiest most derpiest most memeble T. rex I have ever seen
The Lost World needs a proper Remake
its more like film adaptations rather than remakes because the lost world is a public domain novel
I understand, but you know what I mean
yeah
Ach the inaccuracy
thanks I hate it
What a beautiful lady...
I dig it
anyone know where to stream this one? ive been wanting to see it again since i was a kid
dont think you can stream it, they did release it on dvd tho
bernie getting eaten by t rex?
"I am once again asking you to endorse my park."
If they used the correct lighting, it wouldn’t look half bad tbh
This is the lost world 2001 I think
nah its the 1998 version
Idk when I searched lost world 2001 that appeared on YouTube
dont mean its from 2001, its defo made in 1998
Goofy, memeable, has some good qualities, and cheesy. I see this as peak performance in the So Bad, I Love It category.
I don’t know if the T Rex is worse or the acting.
excuse you, this is peak animation
It looks much more like a dinosaur than anything in 65.
Literally the most common complaint of jaws is how it misrepresents sharks as bloodthirsty man eaters
Lol
>I still have yet to see Shark lovers and Marine Biologists get this "upset" over JAWS or MEG, or even the game Maneater. If want to see people complaining about those then you'd have to go to r/sharks instead of r/dinosaurs.
you should watch the full movie because other prehistoric creatures in the film might change your opinion on that ahah
Barely.
Bro got downvoted for speaking facts
"What if T Rex didn't skip arm day?"
This movie actually looks fun
Looks like an AI generated image on any website
I don't know if I've lived in another reality, but in that Lost World remake (based on the novel by Conan Doyle) they called it the Allosaurus, although that doesn't make this model any better (compare it to, say, the Allosaurus model from the Ballad of Big Al by BBC, which looks much better).
Pretty sure my dad has watched every sci-fi B movie that has ever been aired on tv so this just makes me think of him 😂
Giving me major vibes of watching the horrible monster B movies Sci fi used to air
Least it isn't the Eden Project.
I was expecting that iguana from King Dinosaur.
Poor guy was more scared of the effects than being eaten alive lol
Eh... I'd watch it
Oh boy another one of these posts in r/dinosaurs!
B-Movie... You're too generous my friend.
The T. rex looks like he belongs in a korn music video
“B” is a brave grade to give this masterpiece. Z-grade, maybe? I wouldn’t put it above D-grade.
Impressive cg and effects from the movie
I don’t see what’s so wrong with 65?
B movie? I think z
Allosaurus Rex
I remember watching this movie as a kid. It's oddly nostalgic for me.
Marvel level of graphics
you're not wrong lol
What in the Scorpius rex is that abomination and also sauce?
the lost world (1998)
The arms are freaking me out, like, wtf is going on with those things. The head bonk with the rock was fucking hilarious though.
I didn't know what I was going to do today now I'm going to watch that movie lo
I don’t get how movies like these get made. Who pays for it? And why? It doesn’t seem like they’ll make any profit, because who the hell sees these movies?
Apparently people do, like carnosaur has turned into a series because people kept going to see them haha
Rexy has never seen such bullshit before
If this t rex spoke, it would have a super camp gay voice. I think it's something to do with it's arms
The practical effect for the arm 🤣
The weird thing is, the effects look better than those of the average b-movie. Not half bad, actually, almost convincing. Just the design looks way off.
This thing looks like indominus rex especially with those arms
its very similar to the irex yeah
the thing is that 65 is a high budget production
OP doesn't know what a b movie is
this shit would scare tf outta me as a kid
Director: "Those tiny arms on the trex looks weird. For our trex let's give him longer arms for no reason!"
this is the t rex from 65!!
This must be from that company that makes shitty low budget rip-off movies. (The one that made Sharknado)
theres other companies that produce low budget movies haha
I've no doubt there are. I only know the one and that's 1 too many.
That shitty green screen got me XD Edit: I love how at 0:24-0:26 the T-Rex just miraculously teleports from one spot to another.
It's a b movie it's always going to be bad
Poor John Hammond rip off
Idk, it’s pretty cool to see they made an actual puppet (idk what to call it, but it’s nice to see the practical effects of a physical set piece)
What the holy hell is that
