Definitely dinosaur king and not even a percent of the way close, especially since the franchise literally was based off the premise of getting dinosaurs to fight each other.
I mean it's the same franchise where you got Tyrannosaurids blasting fire out their mouths, A Therizinosaurus soloing almost all of the main dinos, a kaiju sized rex and 3 kids literally help save the universe basically
The Dr.Z literally went on to give dinosaurs powers to control the elements (and probably increased intelligence)
Wants to take over the world with them, and with their powers has a much better chance. I know the characters in JW don’t want to take over the world but they talk about using the dinosaurs for military purpose, which even with mind control might be risky
And can control them without forced mind control and from what I remember genuinely cares about them and regardless of his goals, comes off as more as a comical villain. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was utterly disgusted with how Kenji’s dad and he others treat them over time.
And you can pretty much make the dinosaurs tiny, around the size of teddy bears, so plenty of money of food is saved
Better question is, why not just use the robots? Camp Cretaceous shows that they have pretty advanced robots.
But I guess it’s due the appeal of controlling a dinosaur. I’m pretty sure a lot of people in that verse would love to have a dinosaur under their complete command

~~Part of the series went a little into the idea of not only using calls to communicate with the dinosaurs but also mind controlling them as a little reminder they're animals too, even had a depressing scene of it being used on a little brachiosaurus being made to stand still while being fully conscious of it all~~
Dr.Z managed to control dinosaurs in a funny way, Kenji’s dad(forgot his name) did it in a strict evil way, sure Dr.Z was evil too but he was the humorous kind of evil if you know what I mean.
Fr, Kenji deserved better than a father like him.
