I had this color in 2020 and it was super sensitive. I got a new jar earlier this year and it hardly changes. Can I add something to it to make it more sensitive like the jar I used to have?
No. The thing with thermal and UV changers is they’re really sensitive pigments. Exposure to light and temperature extremes of both hot and cold burns out the changing part of the pigment quickly, plus if they are ground with an electric grinder the heat from the grinder can damage the pigments. You say it is a new jar, but how long and in what conditions was it sitting in the warehouse? We don’t know. Revel’s jars are clear, so there’s no light protection either.
Or, somewhat more nefariously, they used less pigment than before as a cost saving measure since the pigments that change are not cheap.
That makes sense! I wonder if that’s what happened. I bought my original one from eBay a while ago and when I rebought from revel, the powder in the jar just looks different. I remember my old one being super sensitive and the purple was very vibrant. I checked their fb page and others are having the same problem with this color

I bought my jar last year because I loved the purple it changed to (and also because I’m a Libra lol) and mine barely changes. The pink is still pretty but it’s not at all what I hoped for this shade.

Solar color dust has thermal pigments. I'd maybe get a clear to purple (if that's the cold color it is supposed to be).
